LAST CHAPTER RECAP
"Youichi" she breathed
THUD.
"I'm back, Youichi!"
"Nee-chan!" he wailed as he shook his head, burying his face onto her chest, grabbing fistfuls of her shirt as he sobbed.
I love you. -you're handsome boyfriend
She silently laughed at that. She imagined him wearing a cocky smirk as he typed that. Unconsciously she smiled
"you'll be starting school on Monday." Yuka told her daughter
"Where will I be going?"
"Where else? The American branch of Gakuen Alice."
"Sensei?" Anna called to him shyly raising her hand
Narumi looked over to her curiously "Hai?"
"Why haven't you been calling Mikan's name?"
"Ara? you don't know?" Narumi asked in faux surprise, quickly glancing at Hotaru's direction, "She moved back to the states."

"Sensei, what do you mean?" Nonoko asked curiously
"Well it means that Mikan-chan is studying abroad!" Narumi answered cheerfully hands clapping together.
At the back of the class Natsume tensed. Abroad? Mikan was studying abroad? That can't be right. If she was studying abroad why didn't she tell him. They were in a relationship for crying out loud this sort of thing should've been discussed by the both of them. Not that he wouldn't want her to study abroad, no that's not it, it's the fact that they should've talked about where their relationship would go from there. Would they do long distance? Would they wait for each other? Or would they break up completely and see where fate leads them in the future? But she just left, apparently totally uncaring about where their relationship would head. Did this mean that technically they were broken up? Or what does it mean? God, he hoped it didn't mean broken up.
Now that he thought about it, Imai had been pestering him for the past couple of days for the whereabouts of Mikan. If he didn't know better he would say that Imai had no idea she had left either. But that didn't make sense, he hated to admit it but the stoic inventor is his girlfriend's best friend, so it's kind of weird she didn't mention anything to her.
And the most weird part was that Ruka apparently had already known about her disappearance. It was subtle but he knew his best friend. Not to mention the weird change in his behavior and how he was now all chummy with Shouda. And all this happened right after the brunette's disappearance. He had a sneaking suspicion Ruka and Shouda were with her the day she left the academy. If he remembered correctly him, Shouda, and Mikan had missed a full day of classes four days ago. The next day they both came to class late, but Mikan was no where to be found. He was probably just reaching, but he trusted his gut feeling. He wasn't the top of their year for nothing. And he would figure out this complicated mess that his blond-haired friend had just trusted himself onto.
'Ruka, what mess are you in now'

Alice Academy, American Branch, LA{Monday, 7:15 a.m}
"You must be our new student. I'm Mrs. Harrison your homeroom and english teacher." A bright bubbly dark-skinned lady bounced her way into the waiting area.
Mikan looked at the teacher completely unperturbed at her sunny disposition, this teacher reminded her so much of Narumi-sensei. Her black hair was cut in a bob, light green eyes that shone with so much happiness, that unconsciously she let out a smile of her own, she was curvy and pretty tall, if she had to guess she would say she was about 173 cm. She wore a light blue suit and nude heels. All in all her teacher was very pretty.
"Mikan Yukihira. Nice to meet you"
"Likewise. Now if you'll follow me" Mrs. Harrsion turned on her heel and walked out of the room, Mikan walking after her "Now, your stuff will be sent over to your room. Here is your key. You're allowed to leave the school grounds only on the weekends, we make some exceptions during weekdays, however those have to be approved by the teachers, your guardians, and the headmaster. Curfew is at ten, if you're found wandering after hours you will be suspended. Here is your schedule, breakfast is at six, lunch is at noon, and dinner is at six. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. - Ah We're here!" Mrs Harrison beamed "Ready?" Mikan nodded.
Mrs Harrison opened the door and skipped in, Mikan following her teacher in amusement glittering her hazel orbs. She, however, did not fail to notice how the rowdy class -because they were yelling and laughing so loudly she could hear them from the hallway- became quiet, hushed whispers heard here and there.
Her teacher stopped right in front of her desk, looking back at her students with an expectant look. The class all at once stopped talking giving their teacher their undivided attention.
"Class, I'd like to introduce you to your new classmate!" Mrs Harrison beamed and clapped her hands at a rate Mikan could not keep up with. Man. This teacher was really cheerful. Way too cheerful.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Mikan Yukihira. I recently came back from Japan, so i'm still adjusting to my surroundings. I hope we can become good friends" she smiled gently, radiating an aura of pure calm.
An almost like a spell the boys all suddenly sported a blush that reached their ears. Some looked away, others buried their face in between their arms red ears peaking out. It was amusing to say the least. The girls on the other hand looked at her in envy while others merely glanced at her before going back to what they were doing. Others simply didn't care, and personally she didn't care either.
"Mrs. Harrison, where will I be sitting?" Mikan asked
"Ah! you'll be seating in the back, right next to Mr. Collins." Mrs. Harrison grinned "Mr. Collins can you please raise your hand" she asked kindly looking to the back of the class.
Mikan looked towards the back were a hand was raised lazily, she could see from where she was standing a messy blob of blond hair, hair sticking up from all sides. His body was slumped over his desk face buried in his arms.
Mikan looked toward her teacher gave her a charming smile, and then proceeded to make her way toward her seat. Walking towards her seat Mikan took note of how all the girls seemed to be glaring at her now.
"Alright class I have to go talk to the headmaster, I won't be long now. Please try to keep the noise to a minimum, I don't want to punish you kids but I will." she warned. The class nodded and she was out of the classroom.
The class waited for a few minutes to make sure she was out of ear shot, before the class erupted into chaos.
The students all huddled into their respective groups. A group walked towards the white board grabbing the dry-erase markers and drawing on the board. One of them even decided to sit on their teacher's chair, making one of his friends push him around the front of the class. Down the front row was another group who unlike the first looked studious, books and papers all thrown on their desks as they talked to one another about one problem or the other. Behind them was a group of girls who were all huddled together as they looked at something on their phones. Down the left side in the middle row was a large group who were all joking around. Some sat atop desks, while two sat on the window sill, the others sat in the surrounding desks, one of them even took out a pack of uno cards showing it to his friends and then proceeding to shuffle the cards. And finally at the back of the class opposite of her a large group of girls sat together, some leaning against the wall. And she had the impression they were all glaring at her.
From her peripheral view she saw a red-haired girl stand from the group of girls and started walking towards her.
'God, why me'
The brunette turned to look at the other girl. Her straight red hair reached to her hips curling right at the tip, half of it was tied back into a ponytail while two braids were tied together at each side of her face. She had long eyelashes which enhanced her stormy grey eyes, which were unusual but surprisingly pretty. She wondered how would they look like if the girl was happy. Would they twinkle and look like shiny pearls? Suddenly she wanted to see that. Pearls were pretty. Her nose was slightly upturned, she had heart shaped lips, which she noticed had a shine. Lip gloss no doubt. She could also spot the freckles that were covering her nose and spreading under her eyes. She, like everyone else, was probably going through puberty. Her chest was definitely bigger than her own. How she wasn't suffering from acne, she didn't know. This girl also looked like she was taller than her, but she wasn't sure. Overall, this random girl was really pretty, and she had no doubt in her mind she would be having boys lined everywhere she went.
"I'm Amara Evans, and I just wanted to inform you that I'm the president of Anthony's fan club." Amara said, snapping the brunette out of her thoughts.
Oh. She's that girl. Amara reminded her of Permy, but she also reminded her of Luna. Hm? Permy and Luna combined as one. She didn't know if she should fear the girl or be impressed by her.
"And why would I need to know that?" she asked cautiously
"This is just a warning." she commented crossing her arms, eyes hardening as she looked down at her "Do anything to harm Anthony, or even distract him from his studies, and you will regret it. Not everybody can last being his partner, specifically girls."
Okay she felt offended. If she could handle Natsume who was a big ass to her for months before he became a somewhat decent person, than she could definitely handle this kid.
Rolling her eyes, she stared at the girl in front of her "I've heard that line before. And besides why do you care so much? It's not like he's your boyfriend or is he?"
She heard gasps around the room. Suddenly she was aware that everyone had quietened down, and was listening intently to their conversation. When the fuck did that happen? And why where they listening in? Don't they have better things to do than eavesdrop? And why are they even eavesdropping in the first place? It makes no sense!
"And why may I ask, are you listening in on a private conversation? Don't you all have better things to do?" She gritted out turning to look at her new classmates, they all winced and looked away, embarrassed at being called out. However they still made it obvious they were still listening in. She sighed.
She turned to look at Evans, the girl was glaring daggers at her and she had no idea why. Not like she cared, it was very obvious they were not going to be friends anyway.
And she really wanted to be her friend. She wanted to see her eyes sparkle, and shine like pearls. Oh. They also looked like molten steel. Huh. Now she was sad the girl wouldn't accept her gesture of friendship.
"It doesn't matter why I care." Amara gritted out, although the way she said it almost seemed forced.
Amara looked at the brunette through hateful eyes before turning around and walking back towards her friends, who most seemed to shrug at her, and two girls who were seated next to her looked at her with concern filled eyes. Those two same girls looked up and caught Mikan's gaze each sending her a glare. She could only roll her eyes at this. They were being stupid.
Soon enough the class became rowdy once again. Taking out her phone she planned on updating her friends. God, she missed them.
So I think I just got confronted by a girl and over a boy no less. It's literally not even been an hour! Why does this always happen!
Locking her phone, she jumped when she felt someone tap her shoulder. Turning to the side she came face to face with an dark haired boy. He has silky wavy raven black hair which is parted from the right side. It's so black that every time the light hits it seems to swallow it, like a never ending abyss. His eyes a striking light green, that were such a contrast to his hair, so clear you could get lost in his gaze. Behind him were two girls, which she merely spared them a cursory glance before her gaze landed on the boy in front of her once again.
"Yes?" she asked
the boy gave her a kind smile, one that she knew immediately had girls melting at the sight.
"I'm Kosuke Igarashi, and on behalf of Amara I'd like to apologize" he began "she's really nice honest but, when it comes to Anthony she can be somewhat irrational" he grimaced "seeing as you've got partnered with Anthony, she immediately identified you as a threat"
"Yes, well I could care less, if she's going to be like that over a boy she needs to get over herself. Life does not revolve around a single boy" Mikan huffed, glancing at her phone slightly when it vibrated
Natsume
Two Unread Messages
"Yes well she obviously thinks otherwise" Igarashi chuckled
"Obviously" Mikan said dryly
"Anyway, this here is Nobara Ibaragi" He pointed to one of the girls behind him who were talking in hushed whispers. Ibaragi has curly light blue hair that reaches her mid-waist, so light that it actually somewhat resembled Ice. Grey eyes eerily similar to Evans own. She looks innocent at the moment, with her childlike round eyes peering at her through her fringe with unrestrained curiosity.
"And this here is Bella Delavenne" The other girl was petite, she barely reached Ibaragi's shoulder. Her hair was an auburn disarray of wild curls, it reached past her elbows, and she was sure if the girl ever decided to straighten her hair it would probably reach mid-waist. A black headband sat idly atop her head. Her forest green eyes stood out against her tan skin, which held a healthy glow, curled eyelashes darkened with mascara helped her eyes be even more pronounced. The slight tilt of her eyes gave her a sort of feline look. She had a button nose and bow shaped lips. Two silver hoops dangled from her ears, with two silver studs next to the hoops. She really was a beauty just like her namesake. Delavenne gave her a nod, a polite smile on her face.
"And the Idiot behind you is Anthony Collins, as I'm sure you've already deduced" Igarashi said as he grinned
Mikan nodded "Given as he's the root of my now-to-be-never-ending-problems. Yes I have."
Bella snorted. "Yes well he's the root to most of our problems as well" she said
Nobara nodded vigorously "He's such a troublemaker, and we always get caught up in his antics! Just for once I would like to not be in detention with Mr. Alctus! He's so mean!"
"Remember when he made us clean the animal shed right after the elementary kid's visited? And all because Anthony let the chickens out!" Kosuke shuddered as he recalled the memory.
"What about the time where we had to unweed the garden all because he trampled all over the garden" Nobara grumbled
"Or how about the time we had to clean the cafeteria after Anthony started that damn food fight!" Bella groused "detention after detention after detention" a pause "And all because of Tony's dumbass" Bella growled
"That hurts Bells" A new voice joined the conversation. All heads turned to look at the blond. Mikan as she was sitting next to him turned her head to her side and came face to face with her seat mate. Anthony Collins.
Anthony was leaning against his chair smirking at his friends, arms crossed behind his head. He had unruly spiky blond hair, and violet eyes that popped against his pale skin. Headphones placed in his ears, but by the way he was smirking he had obviously listened to their whole conversation. Which the thought annoyed her.
And that was when Violet met Hazel.
She saw him giving her a once-over, he narrowed his eyes at her, and then out of nowhere decidedly coming to a decision nodded his head. Which she was particularly confused about but decided not to question it, as it was to much of a hassle to even ask in the first place.
Ignoring her blond partner she grabbed her bag and phone. Standing up she nodded at the three friends and walked out of the room.
"What's her problem?" Anthony mumbled asking no one in particular. His friends only shrugged, Nobara taking out a bag of chips and drinks from her bag and passing it towards her friends.

Is the boy cute at least?
Of course she would ask that.
Sumire!
What?
Well...
He was cute.
OMG! HE IS! Send a Picture
But, that's weird!
Well how does he look like at least? What's his eye color? Hair color? Is he tall?
Why did she confront you?
Ah, Ruka. Ruka. Ruka. You can always count on him to steer the conversation back to what actually matters.
I have no fucking clue! One minute I'm sitting at my desk minding my business, the next she's introducing herself as the president of his fan club! And then she 'warns' me that if I bother him i'll regret it!
Sounds like Sumire
Right!
Hey!
Not only does she remind me of you Permy, but she also reminds me of Luna!
Ew! Did you have to bring her up!
Well she reminded me of her!
The way she introduced herself reminded her a lot of Permy. Specifically the first time they met, and how eerily similar the introductions had been. As for Luna it was her attitude and the way she presents herself. However unlike Luna, she seems to actually care.
Is she...you know...like Luna?
You mean selfish? Bitchy? Heartless? Arrogant?
Umm...
Yes! That's exactly what he means.
Sumire!
Speak up Ruka! Not all people are nice, and you need to realize that early before you get hurt.
There's a story behind that, isn't there?
No
Yes
Nobody answered. Weird. 'Wonder what that's about' she thought.
Anyways! No she isn't like Luna, from what I could gather just from today, she seems like a decent person. She's bitchy but not Luna bitchy, just the right amount if that makes sense. She's really blunt also, which I honestly don't mind after spending time with Permy. She also has her soft moments, and that's when she's around animals. I've noticed she likes animals a lot. So she kind of reminds me of you, Ruka! All in all I think she's decent.
You picked all of that up, just from today?
Yes?
Since when were you this perceptive?
Since Always. I was just blinded.
What do you mean? :)
Hmm...Nothing, Nothing.

Gakuen Alice Main Branch, Tokyo, Japan
"Nogi"
The blond winced as he hesitantly turned. He knew this was coming. He knew she would've figured it out eventually, she wasn't stupid. He just wished she would've figured it out at a later date. Why now of all days? He wasn't in the mood. It was to early for this. He was tired. He was hungry. He was annoyed. He didn't want to deal with her!
"Imai-san" He greeted her with his ever-so-present gentle smile.
"What did you tell her?"
Like he was going to tell her so easily. "Pardon?" he asked "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You know exactly well what I'm talking about" she gritted.
He hadn't seen her this mad in like...ever. It was kind of amusing to watch, if he removed the blackmail, the hitting, and the stoic demeanor, he would of enjoyed teasing her. He shook his head "I really don't know Imai-san. You're going to have to be more specific."
He could see her getting more irritated as the seconds went by. He was only digging his grave deeper by the second, but he honestly couldn't resist. It was pretty amusing watching the Ice queen fish for confirmation and having a hard time getting it, obviously he never thought it would be him who would be giving her such a hard time, but nevertheless, it was still amusing to watch.
"Did you tell Mikan about the bet?" Imai asked bluntly done with beating around the bush
Natsume who had been walking toward their classroom, had seen Imai cross the hall from his peripheral view thinking nothing of it he proceeded to keep walking. That was however, before he realized who she was walking towards to. Seeing his bestfriend was the target of her ire, scowl etched onto her face, he panicked a little. As Mikan was no longer here the Ice Queen will no doubt unleash whatever anger she was holding onto and that would, obviously, not be a pretty sight.
He had seen how Ruka's eye's shone in amusement, while Imai's annoyance grew. He was about to save his dear friend when he saw Imai's gaze flicker towards him and then back at Ruka. The movement was so quick that he barely caught it and he was sure Ruka hadn't caught it. His breath hitched at the question she asked next.
It was Ruka? He told her? Why would he tell her? Everything was going fine, him and Imai had broken the bet, everything would've been fine. Mikan wouldn't have had a clue that there had been a bet going on. They could've continue their relationship with her none the wiser, and everything would've been fine. He would've told her in the near future and she would get mad at him, yell at him, and even smack him, but then they would brush it off and laugh at the thought of it. She would forgive him because by then they would have been engaged, too deep into their relationship for either of them to let go of the other. He had thought about their future together, and it had made his heart swell with so much joy and happiness that for a second he had forgotten that the bet was still ongoing. And once he had those thoughts he knew he had to call the bet off. 'Cause he liked the future he had created, one where him and Mikan were together forever. But, unfortunately, that was no longer the case and all of it was thanks to Nogi fucking Ruka.
"And what if I did" Ruka admitted defiantly
And it was with that statement that Natsume's and Ruka's friendship ended. A part of Natsume died that day, his beloved knew the truth and he knew that she would never forgive him and Imai for what they had done. His bestfriend, the kid who he had grown up with, the one who knew him even better than he knew himself, the kid who he thought would always stay by his side no matter what, had betrayed him. And so with a blank look and an empty feeling inside him, walked passed his ex-bestfriend, deliberately bumping into his shoulder as he walked past, Imai following after him an unreadable expression on her face.
Natsume never once turned back to look at Ruka. For if he did he would've seen the guilty and heartbroken look he wore as he watched Natsume walk away from him.
Walking straight into the darkness he had once been in, and walking far far away from Ruka's grasp.
HI - Sumire
HI - Mikan
HI - Ruka
