Selene POV- Eight years ago a hunter named Monroe, with the help of Gerard Argent, exposed Werewolves to the world and started a war. She wanted the world to think Werewolves were nothing but murderous beasts in order to gain more hunters for her war. Due to Selene sharing some of her power with the Werewolves of the world most of those hunters were killed.
It took Selene and her friends two years to track down Monroe. She'd been hiding out in Mexico, however nothing happened in Mexico without the Calavera hunters knowing about it and they had sided with Selene. They followed the code: we hunt those who hunt us, in their minds Monroe was the one who started the war and the wolves were only fighting to survive. That didn't mean they didn't still hunt and kill rogue Werewolves, it just meant they were true hunters like Chris Argent.
Flashback 6 Years Ago
Selene took her pack, which consisted of Scott McCall, Malia Hale, Liam Dunbar, Derek Hale, Isaac Lahey, Lydia Martin and Selene's mate Stiles Stilinski, to go take down Monroe. Chris Argent, Jordan Parrish and Peter Hale also tagged along since Scott and Isaac were Argent's step sons and Lydia was Parrish's girlfriend and Malia was Peter's daughter while Derek was his nephew.
They took the hunters down either with knock out blows or if they were given no other choice death blows until it was just them and Monroe. She had nowhere to run as the pack had the building surrounded. Selene walked towards the hunter who'd ruined so many lives and smiled as the bullets firing from Monroe's gun had absolutely no effect on her.
"Not this time Monroe. You started this war and I'm going to finish it" Selene growled letting her claws out and her eyes turned red.
Monroe trembled as her gun clicked empty and her death walked closer to her. Selene ended her life quick and painlessly which was better than the woman deserved after all she'd done. Stiles walked up behind and pulled her close.
"Let's go home" he said softly.
Home for them was Quantico, Virginia where they were finishing up training and were attempting to get the FBI to allow them to form an elite team of supernaturals to handle cases no human could.
For Scott, Liam and Malia home was Beacon Hills, California where Liam was about to graduate high school and become assistant coach to Coach Finstock. Scott was going to community college for Veterinary while learning everything Deaton had to show him. Malia was going to college but she planned to be a Park Ranger who specialized in Search and Rescue.
Isaac was living in Beacon Hills but he spent a lot of time traveling the world and spending time with other packs. He was currently spending time in Asia.
Derek also lived in Beacon Hills but was currently traveling Africa with his new mate Rayne who was shockingly a Werecheetah or to them more commonly called an Ilimu, a feline specific shifter.
The Ilimu legend says they were the first big cats who learned how to shift to human and were blood thirsty. The truth was more likely it was a rogue cat shifter whom the legend was based on. Cat shifters have only been recently located in Africa and Asia. These places were too hot for Werewolves to want to be unless they had to so it was the perfect place for cat shifters to hide.
Home for Lydia was Cambridge, Massachusetts where she'd graduated MIT last year and was currently teaching an advanced class though she wanted to return to Beacon Hills to be with Parrish who was still the Sherriff's deputy and resident Hellhound.
End flashback
Selene walked back into the house the FBI was putting the trio up in, covered in blood. She stalked past one of her best friends and placed a bullet next to her on the table.
"I like those new rounds" Selene said heading straight for the bathroom and a shower.
"If they're so great why do you look like shit?" Rayne chuckled.
"Shut up. Zane! You said one rogue Coyote. One! Not four!" Selene called out to Zane her teams main tracker.
"Sorry! I was following the guy for two days. I didn't see any sign of the others" Zane replied coming out of the kitchen with a raw hamburger on his plate.
Like Selene both Rayne and Zane weren't human. Also like her they worked for the FBI but they were part of Stiles and Selene's special team. They answered to no one but them and Stiles and Selene answered only to the director of the FBI, and they still had final call on all death sentences.
Zane Jacobs was a Wendigo but unlike most Wendigos Zane was a vegetarian. He only ate raw animal meat. Once a month he had to eat human flesh to keep his strength up but the FBI morgue took care of him.
Selene turned away from him and closed the bathroom door and turned on the shower before stripping out of her torn and bloody clothes. The water turned red as she stepped under the hot spray. She stayed there until it was clear, only then did she wash the rest of her body making sure to take care with any nasty bits in her hair.
She felt a rush of happiness before her phone rang. Selene grinned as she got out of the shower to answer the phone already knowing who was on the other end.
"Hey love. Mission was a success how's yours?"
"If it was a success why did you have to use your Alpha command?" Stiles asked.
"Turns out there was more than one rogue. But I handled it. Now how is your mission going?" Selene replied.
"Going good. Milo's helping talk the kids out of jail. Sheriff was adamant they ate the cows which ew. Anyway the badge didn't get them out so Milo's handling it."
They're team had five members on it, each with their own specialties. Every field team was different for each mission depending on what skills were needed. Milo Maskins was a Coyote, he was the team's lock pick and charmer. There wasn't a lock he couldn't open and he could talk anyone out of trouble.
Rayne Hale was a Cheetah shifter who was not only insanely fast but she could handle any weapon handed to her. Not only could she handle weapons she was great at making them too. She'd created the teams new handcuffs that were capable of containing supernaturals.
Zane was the best tracker around. He could smell blood a mile away, down wind. He knew how to blend in so the mark never even considered they were being followed. Zane was also an expert sniper when the mission wouldn't let them get up close and personal with the target.
Stiles and Selene Stilinski were Alphas. They were power and they were immortal. Stiles was the computer genius and strategist while Selene was the main hunter and killer if need be.
"I miss you" Stiles said into the phone and she could feel his longing for her in their mate bond.
"I miss you too. I'll be home soon and it sounds like you will too" Selene smiled.
"Soon then" Stiles replied.
"I love you" Selene said.
"I love you too" he responded before they both hung up.
"I wove you Stiles" Rayne teased as Selene came out of the bathroom in a towel.
"Bite me" Selene grinned heading for her room to dress.
Rayne playfully nipped at Selene. The claw marks on Selene's body had already healed so now she was starving. Once she was dressed she headed into the kitchen and saw a dozen cooked hamburgers next to half a dozen uncooked ones. Selene grabbed three cooked ones and went back out and plopped down next to Rayne.
"How's Derek and little Ryan?" Selene asked grinning at Rayne.
"Great" Rayne replied trying to cover her smile. Selene knew she could get to Rayne by mentioning her mate and son. Selene just smiled and handed Rayne a burger.
"Shut up" Rayne said.
"I didn't…"
"You were thinking it…loudly."
Zane walked in with his phone in one hand and one of his burgers in the other. He had mustard on his upper lip which made the girls laugh since he was completely clueless to it. No one would know by seeing them like this that all three of them were killers.
"I got us a flight home. Figured you'd want to go ASAP" Zane grinned at Selene.
She'd glare at him but the mustard just made her laugh more.
"What?"
Rayne simply tossed him a towel and motioned to his face.
Suddenly Selene's phone beeped with an incoming text. She read it and fired back a quick message. When she said nothing the others just looked at her.
"An Alpha from Texas is missing two wolves. Told him I'd keep an eye out and put out a feeler" Selene explained.
"You worried?" Zane asked curiously.
"No. We wolves do travel, have dead cell phones and even ignore people when we want space. So you know normal things" Selene shrugged.
After they finished eating they began the task of packing. Clothes, weapons, computers and the food was all meticulously packed away for travel. Rayne drove them to the airport while Selene updated the case file in the back seat.
At the airport Selene simply flashed her badge and they were on their plane in less than ten minutes. They all just ignored the looks some of the airport staff and stewardesses gave them. The looks of disgust like they were better than Selene and her team.
Supernaturals were out to the world now and were greeted with mixed views. Some people didn't care. They still saw their family and friends instead of seeing werewolves or monsters. Some other people hated them, looked down on them and treated them like they were less. There were also some that Selene called groupies, they wanted to be around wolves and coyotes and all things supernatural for the rush.
Then there were the worst ones in Selene's opinion. The ones who wanted to be turned. They followed Alpha's around for days begging for the Bite. Willing to pay for it, bleed for it, do anything for it and it made Selene want to vomit.
"You okay boss?" Zane asked from the seat across from her.
"Yeah just missing the days gone by" Selene replied with a soft smile.
"You mean the days when we were all getting hunted in the shadows and no one around to stop it?" Rayne said.
"No! I tried to do what I could back then" Selene growled as her eyes flashed red.
"I… I didn't mean it like that" Rayne backed down.
"I'm just tired of…them. That's what I meant" Selene said regaining her control.
Selene wasn't really angry with Rayne, after all Rayne had lost family to the hunters and she hadn't been able to stop them and Selene hadn't been there either. But as Stiles always pointed out to anyone who tried to blame Selene for not stopping a hunter from killing a loved one: She is only one wolf. She can't be everywhere at once. It's not her fault, the world is not on her.
Zane and Rayne nodded their understanding of what Selene meant as they too were tired of the looks and treatment Supernaturals got. Slowly they were changing things but even after all these years humans still hated them, looked at them like lower beings and didn't trust them. Thankfully those humans were in the minority and Selene thanked her mother every night for home and for Beacon Hills where humans and Supernaturals lived side by side. It wasn't without its problems though but that's why the town had not one but two true Alpha's and a Sheriff with a Hellhound deputy protecting it.
As the plane began its decent Selene looked out the window and saw two black SUV's waiting for them on the tarmac. Excitement, joy, and pure happiness flooded through her as she just knew who was waiting for her in the first SUV. Her husband, her mate, her Stiles. Finally she was home.
