Ch.21: Divine Purpose
"Seihana is possessed by an ancient entity?" Yoshiyuki repeated not believing Madara's words.
"It's true. The truth came from the mouth of it's child." Madara replied after taking a sip from his wooden cup. Both men sat together in the village's bar. Loud voices around them muffled their conversation.
Yoshiyuki palmed his forehead, "What am I going to tell the Hyūga?"
"Don't say anything. It's all being taken care of."
There on Madara spoke of the plan to stop Namanari. After he finished, Yoshi insisted, "I must help free Seihana."
"No, You will stay out of this. Your clan deems you important."
"I have to protect her..." Yoshi pushed on, reminding himself, "It's my duty."
Madara stayed firm, "You will be the father of your clan's future leader that is what makes you a valuable asset. Your existence may not be of your liking but at least you have the chance to give your future offspring a brighter lifestyle. If you die all that will be taken away."
"You are worthy of the Hokage title." He made clear, "Thank you, However I want you to know I'm not trying to take Hana away from you."
Madara knew what was happening to Yoshi wasn't something he could avoid. He claimed sarcastically, "Away from me? I keep Seihana around because of her companionship and flirtation. She is not property I own."
"Yes, That is true... Unfortunately my love for money ruined the chance I had with her." He finished with a drink, "Nevertheless I will respect that she married another man."
Madara kept his chill attitude, "What she does with you isn't in my power."
"Is Hana going to die?"
"No, But there is a chance."
"For both of our sakes... Keep her alive, Madara."
"Hey! Madara, Who is this?" Hashirama entered with Tobirama following closely behind.
Yoshiyuki detested Tobirama's presence, "You will pay for what you did to my face and body!"
"You don't look injured to me." His ironic answer contradicted his controlled demeanor.
"He is Yoshiyuki; Seihana's former fiancé. Now her bodyguard and secondary husband."
Hashirama cracked up, "Hahaha! A secondary spouse? An old fashioned custom."
Tobirama remarked, "I find it hard to believe Madara is going along this."
Madara rolled his eyes, His lecturing reply aimed at his three companions, "A wise man accepts his limitations or remains forever witless."
Instead of embracing anguish, Yoshiyuki stood up and excused himself, "I have to leave... Good bye, Madara."
He left the bar heading back to the residence inhabited by Seihana. He found her resting in the bedroom. She laid awake reading a book. Yoshi sat next to her tempting to keep his emotions within. He spoke nothing of his former conversation with Madara.
"Yoshi, I know that look... What is bothering you?"
"My lady, It's nothing worth your concern."
"Yoshiyuki... You have changed soo much... It's like you are a different person. What did the clan do to you?"
He removed the band around his head and bowed, "As punishment for piracy... They made me into a servant... Once you embrace your title you will be given the means to control me."
She traced the markings on his forehead, mentioning, "As I suspected. The binding mark... Our clan hasn't used this in a few centuries. This will keep you from running off."
"My lady..."
She interrupted, "Doe's any other person other than my father and brother know?"
"No."
Seihana spoke more seriously, "Let's keep it that way. I do not want the others to get any ideas. I do not want this to go public."
"I don't believe I'm saying this but I must trust your judgement."
She smiled weakly, ignoring the inner voice in her head, "All this time you were right about one thing... We both are on the same boat."
"However I was quite foolish to think that through illicit activities I could find some independence."
"I wanted freedom as well. However I realized what I wanted freedom from..." She paused to take a breath before continuing, "I also had the power to change... So I decided not run away anymore."
"For myself I am caged."
"Yoshi, I promise you will live out the rest of your life comfortably. I may find you obnoxious but I don't want you to risk your life for me." Seihana added thinking about her beloved spouse, "The only one allowed to do that is my dear husband."
"My clan duties are more important than living comfortably..." He tried not to cry instead he smiled, "However to pay you back for your kindness I promise to make you happy... For the rest of my life."
Seihana smiled back, "Thank you, Yoshiyuki... But you should know, after I get the means to control you... I won't force you to sleep with me... I will leave that up to you."
His heart skipped a beat, Red faced Yoshiyuki muttered, "Hana... I-I."
"Oh, You still have a crush on me." She thought back and said, "I will no longer abuse the unreasonable affection you have for me and you can do as you please as long as your actions do not effect the family negatively."
Suijin sat cross legged beside the river bank, East of what would soonly be named 'The Forest Of Death'. His never blinking eyes indicated the deep focus of his conscious. Not even the laughs of children and the barking Inuzuka dogs at the kennel hindered his concentration. Abruptly the affectionate lick of a k-9's tongue brought him back to his body.
The puppy caught him off guard, He rubbed the dog behind the ears, "Sit beast."
The husky puppy did not obey and continued to assault him with affection. "Woof!"
"Young beast, You must have a master somewhere."
The voice of Kagami astounded, "Look! Sanae!Tomo is with Suijin!"
"I told you she would be here." With attitude; Kazui grifted to Sanae.
Three children approached the water god; Sanae, Kagami and Kazui. Suijin took the energetic puppy in his arms, giving her a gentle rub behind the ears.
He handed her over to the children. "A good beast."
"Who is he? Kagami?" Sanae meant Suijin.
"He is Suijin lord of the seas."
"The Suijin? I don't believe it." Sanae sassed in boy's direction.
She inspected Suijin further from head to toe. Suijin had changed his clothing and look to appear more human. Sanae smelt an odd odour coming from him. One she had never smelt before. Maybe there was a truth to Kagami's claims. Another arrived after the children. It was a short woman whom smelt like a fox to Sanae and Tomo. Tomo growled at the red haired woman. She was Sayuri in human form.
She shooed the younglings away, "Don't bother Suijin. Scram!"
Sanae stuck out her tongue to Sayuri, "You're soo mean!"
Suddenly a third appeared after Sayuri. He was Tobirama. The three children crowded Tobirama. "Tobirama sensei!"
"I must speak to Suijin. Go back to your studies, You three."
The three obeyed without question, "Yes, Sensei."
"Lord Suijin, I have a favor to ask you." He bowed to the water god.
"Yes, My son?"
The younger Senju brother wanted to speak about the recent revelation. The possession of Seihana. Could it be possible that Suijin already knew she was possessed? Suijin's knowledge lead Tobirama to believe the dragon god knew more than what he was putting across.
"I need your help with something that may seem odd to you."
Nothing surprised Suijin, "Odd? I have lived long enough to have seen everything."
"In that case... You must know Seihana is possessed by your former disciple Namanari."
"Yes, I sensed waves of her chakra resonating from Seihana... I thought Seihana could be her reincarnation consequently sharing her chakra. However now..."
Tobirama re-enforced, "I need your power to enact a very powerful jutsu meant to restrain a demi-god... However you must tell me more of her skills and history."
Reliving those ancient memories pained Suijin. He nodded, "Very well... Be as it may, I'm unsure how knowing her history will be useful to you... Tonight bring your friends with you to the river side... I will tell the tale."
Part 2: A Vision Of God's Eye
Suijin...
"To understand the origins and aims of the forgotten Ōtsutsuki Namanari we must return to an archaic time.
Thirty thousand years ago. To the defeat of the progenitor of Ōtsutsuki chakra. Kaguya the off-worlder who ate the immortal fruit to acquire divine power. An alien female belonging to our eternal enemies the moon people. An evil parasitic species whom destroy worlds to acquire power for abyssal means. The moon people have destroyed many worlds however once they set their hunger upon this world these conquerors were to meet us.
The divine gods good and evil, demigods, sages, demons and humans have been protecting and guiding this chaotic world from the beginning of creation. These new enemies forced all gods and creatures of this world to come together or face oblivion. For many years the sun goddess, her family, my brother Fujin and myself Suijin lead many others in a defensive war against the moon invaders.
Few gods, such as myself, have the power of foresight, However I could have never foreseen Kaguya's self-imposed exile to Earth and her seduction of the mortal descendant of the sun goddess; Prince Tenji. Nor the hybrid twins Hagoromo and Hamura whom were the product of their dalliance. Nevertheless her betrayal to all inorder to pursue divinity was expected.
Wanting to save his friends, father and the world, Kaguya's elder son Hagoromo joined our cause. So did Hamura after Hagoromo broke Kaguya's sway over him. Eventually the brothers would defeat their mother sealing her away for eternity with their own chakra.
Many years later Hagoromo found a dojo. Young men and women from the surrounding villages joined. This was a start to something beneficial to all. His first students were his sons; Indra who inherited the sight of the god tree and Ashura who inherited the tree's immense chakra. These brothers would become the ancestors of many powerful clans such as the Uchiha and Senju.
Before Hamura left to watch over his imprisoned mother he fathered triplet daughters by his human lover lady Kairi of Kijō. She named them Namanari, Chūnari, and Honnari. All three sisters had their own individual skill type and the two elder sisters possessed the 'eye of clairvoyance'; the byakugan. Countless years later; The Hyūga are the descent of Chūnari and Honnari's descent are harder to point out as they do not have byakugan and many have inclination for the sage and ōnmyōdō arts.
I will not deny that I may have had a hand in leading up to the forecoming destructive ends. The bloodlines of Hagoromo and Hamura have always fascinated the gods of this world. Their unpredictable descendant's futures are covered in shadow that even the gods cannot see through. Fortunately once in a while light dissipates these shadows allowing a short glimpse into their futures. Many possible futures.
After Indra saved his brother from drowning; He had activated his sharingan. At this moment I saw a child of great future potential. Those with the power to save others from divine, alien or manmade chaos possessed soul's with a great destiny of kings, leaders, protectors, sages and healers.
We would meet years later when his cousins had journeyed to join Hagoromo's dojo. Before the daughters of Hamura had arrived they were captured by humans whom wished to sacrifice them to the divinity of their village. Hagoromo sent his sons to retrieve his brother's daughters.
This village venerated the god of seas, water, rebirth, and storms: Suijin. The narrator of this legend.
Ever the brave elder sister she was Namanari offered herself as sacrifice...
A sacred bride to Suijin.
As the villager's spears pointed at them from all sides sisters Chūnari and Honnari hugged each other. Crying for their sister whom was lead into a stilted hut. The humans had cleaned her and dressed her for the ceremony of the sacrifice. Upon a sacrifical rite the village offered their sacred gift.
When her rescuers became known the village leader sent her off into the water. Namanari thought she would die however her savior Indra freed her from her binding and brought her up to the surface of the bay. In my sight their chains of fate connected causing a vision into my sight.
The image of the 'God's Eye'. The pure eye of the god who created this world. Our mother and father. The creator whom would come to this world in the form of a mortal child. The one who would give freedom to this world.
These two would be the parents to such a child. The two who would come to Suijin for guidance. My two blessed disciples.
Due to the interference of others such as Hagoromo this future was postponed further into time. The Ōtsutsuki heir; Indra's family betrayed him and the intellectual Namanari fled to the land of caves and later a place no one would find her. The transit plane of emptiness. The source of kuton, shadows and body flicker techniques.
What little Namanari could have offered the world died with her. Her bloodline ended when she chose to kill her special child Kūjōshi in her pursuit of greater knowledge on the mysterious 'kuton' jutsu type. By taking the life of Kūjōshi, she destroyed his destiny the cosmos had for him. The husk of his body lingers animated but empty, hungry for death, waiting for the black blade to end his cursed existence.
His soul however returned to the heavens. Resting for many thousand millennium. In the week to come he will be born once more. To meet the one person who's soul has never known peace; his father. Namanari firmly believes by putting an end to Hagoromo's bloodline Indra's soul will know peace.
Such is insanity, The conflict between the Ōtsutsukis would find a new battlefield: The realms of the afterlife and the heavens. To know peace the reincarnated Indra must relieve the hatred within his soul. Put an end to a curse he placed on himself and his descendants. Only then will the power of the sharingan be free from such a dogma."
Sitting on dry sand close to the shore; Tobirama listened to Suijin's tale. He knew the water god was telling the truth but his intuition told him there was more to the tale. Not all the strings connected. The god had more to do with the actions of the Ōtsutsukis. He was reminded of the time Suijin had mentioned a disagreement fight he had with Hagoromo. The knowledge he had about Suijin the sage of six paths took to the grave.
'The Eye Of God'? Could it been that Suijin had manipulated others to bring about such a power? From this moment he chose to watch the aquatic god's actions closely.
Madara sat on a large rock beside Hashirama. As a man who achieved his path of success by his own hand; He did not favor the power gods had over his life and existence. He spoke aloud, "Soo Hashirama and I are the reincarnations of the Six Path's sons..."
Hashirama gave him a hug around the shoulder, "I don't like this very much either... But look on the bright side we were brothers in our past life's."
Madara said begrudgingly, "It explains a lot about our relationship."
Hashirama asked giving him a puppy dog face, "So I'm like a little brother to you?"
Madara closed his eyes and sighed, "Well, I am the first to forgive your stupidity."
Hashirama gave him another hug, "Big brother!"
Izuna reminded Hashirama, Initiating a fight over Madara, "He's MY brother!"
Madara got between his younger brothers, "Izuna and Hashirama! Stop acting like children!"
