A/N: Hi, I just would like to put out that I do not speak Greek, and I used Google translator. So if the greek is wrong, I am sorry. (I just didn't want to keep writing, he said in Greek, she said in Greek, and so on and so forth.) I did love the movie Monday, but this story kept bugging me, so here is my continuation of that movie.
New Chapters will be posted every week, so make sure if you want to read more, to alert, even leave a review :)

Chapter one
At last

Work was getting harder to find, and while he was doing the odd jobs, he knew that Chloe would always hold that over his head like a giant anvil. Since getting arrested they never went out again, and while Mickey loved spending time with his son, he couldn't help but feel some resentment towards Chloe.
She was sitting on the couch, as she flicked through a legal document for a case she was working, Chloe would glance up every now and then to watch Mickey at his desk working on another jingle that wouldn't be used for many reasons. It was just lucky her work was keeping them above water, and as she placed her file down, she cleared her throat. "I'm going to be in a meeting tomorrow, so you'll have to pick Hector up alone." She didn't sound sorry for it, but at the same time she had been putting off telling him for a while.

"Okay," Mickey did a small turn, he glanced up her long legs, she wore a pair of comfortable shorts and a vest top, her fingers holding onto the file as she read it. Getting off his chair slowly walking towards her, he ran his hands up her legs, and for a second feeling hopeful.

Chloe felt him, and for a moment she wanted to let him in, but flashes of the jail cell would come into her mind. Without hesitation she pushed him away from her, "Not now Mickey." She got to her feet, "I need to sleep, I am busy tomorrow." She walked out of the room leaving Mickey on his own.

He didn't know how long it was going to take her to forgive him, but right now the months that had passed had felt long, and while he was excited to see Hector tomorrow, part of him wished things could have been different between himself and Chloe.

Laying in the dark room she was staring at the wall, she could hear the music lightly playing, and part of her wished she could move past this, but she couldn't forget the fear and shame she felt, and while she was in that horrible place, he was out. His case was dismissed and she on the other hands was in shit.

Falling asleep she didn't noticed when Mickey had finally come to bed, he placed a hand to her hip, but when he got no response, he pulled some blanket on himself rolling to his side of the bed to sleep. Mickey wanted so badly for her to forgive him, he wanted to forgive himself too for the way things happened.

Falling asleep he kept to his side of the bed, the small gap between them felt like miles he couldn't fill. It didn't help that he didn't stop himself from overthinking, and when his alarm had brought him out of a restless sleep, he could tell Chloe had already left for the day. Getting up and showered, Mickey kept focused on the good thing today, he was going to see his son.

Mickey walked into the small bar that he would find a friend to talk to, he was tired of being home alone as he saw the empty place. "Hey!" Argyris called from his bar stool, "Long time no see." He wrapped his arms around his friend, he was starting to think he was becoming a bore.

Mickey couldn't be happier to see a friendly face, "I was just seeing if you knew any work?" He rubbed the back of his neck, he hadn't really worked in a few days, and being home was driving him crazy.

It felt like a long-drawn-out silence, but Argyris sighed, "I don't have anything right now." He placed a hand to Mickey's shoulder, "But I will keep my ear to the ground, and if I hear anything." He pointed his finger with seriousness, "You will be the first person I call."

"Thank you!" Mickey said quickly, he knew that time was getting on and he would need to make sure he got his list of things done before having to pick up Hector. Sending a quick text to Chloe, he made his way to the market, he found the crumpled list, and as he picked up everything on it, he couldn't stop himself from looking at his phone, and placing it back into his pocket.

At one point he gave up, he could see she had seen his message, but just left him on read. Mickey finished everything on his list, and as he glanced to the time, he had a quick rush to get out of the apartment and make his way to the school.

He could see he was just on time, as he straighten himself, he caught himself looking to a woman standing the other side of the playground. She wasn't with anyone, her long hair was in a wave to her shoulders, it almost made him think of beach girls in California. Her baggy vest had a strap falling down her arm exposing a tattoo of a rose on her shoulder, and a part of shorts exposing her legs.

Mickey knew he hadn't stared at a woman like this in a long time, but as she arranged her bag on her shoulder, she was switching her phone from one ear the other in a deep conversation, and now Mickey knew he was staring. Putting his attention back to the school doors as they opened, and he broke into a grin seeing Hector was being held back by the teacher.

She knew him by sight, but as Mickey got closer, she didn't look amused, "Ti symvaínei? (What's going on?)" Mickey wasn't the best at Greek, but he knew enough to get by, and he had to try harder since having Hector.

Her face was sour, but at the same time she was glaring in his direction, "Éktora, tou eípe (Hector, he has been told off)," She started coldly, "Prépei na eínai pio sevasmós ston symmathití tou (He needs to be more respectful to his classmate)." Her eyes going to the little girl with brown hair picking up her things.

Mickey watched where the woman was looking, and then back to Hector, "Ti ékanes? (What did you do?)" He asked his son, the conversation in Greek to not upset his ex.

"To xekínise! (She started it!)" Hector's tone was dark, he wasn't amused at being told off, and he was not going to be blamed for it.

The teacher shook her head, "O Éktoras prépei na máthei sevasmó! (Hector needs to learn respect!)"

"I kóri mou boreí na eínai lígo skýla (My daughter can be a little bitch…)" A soft voice caught Mickey and the teacher off guard, her accent wasn't Greek, but it sounded close enough to be a local. "Nomízo loipón, an o Éktoras eípe óti to xekínise, mállon to ékane. (So, I think if Hector said she started it, she probably did.)" Her hand reached out for the little girl who rushed to take it. "Kali, what did you do?" She asked her daughter.

"I pushed him because he was too slow," Kali's face crinkled up with annoyance.

"Boroúme loipón na gyrísoume óloi sto spíti? (So, can we all go home?)" Cassandra turned to the teacher, and she knew the teacher understood the English, but she was pulling the sour face at her, and went back into the school closing the door behind her.

Mickey felt fascinated by her, but it hit him she was the woman he'd been staring at. "I'm Mickey." He held a handout for her.

"Cassandra," She took his hand shaking it, "But most people just call me Cassie," She added while looking down, "My little demon Kali," She pointed out feeling confident to talk English.

Mickey could tell the other parents had left, "My son Hector." He ruffled the boys hair, "I've never seen you here before?"

"Because Kali is new," Cassandra said, as she took Kali's bag from her. tapping her daughter's butt lightly, "It's getting harder to keep her in any school, because she is a problem." She gave Mickey a once over, "Sorry, you must be needing to be somewhere."

"No," Mickey said it a little too fast, "I mean if you want to grab a coffee?"

Cassandra couldn't help but laugh, "I'd like that," glancing down to Kali, "Epísis boreí na dósei se aftá ta dýo tin efkairía na gnoristoún (Also might give these two a chance to get to know each other.)" She smiled to Hector, "Sorry, I need to keep Kali speaking Greek." She didn't know how much Mickey spoke as she could tell when people would be slow to be fluent in the language.

Hector lightly pulled on Mickey's open shirt, he was staring at Cassandra, "Tha pároume pagotó? (Are we going to get ice cream?)" His accent so light, Mickey knew what he was saying, but felt the struggle.

"Óloi tha pároume pagotó kai o bampás sou boreí na mou pei óla gia eséna. (We'll all get ice cream, and your daddy can tell me all about you.)" Cassandra said, she glanced up to see if Mickey was understanding her.

He exhaled, "I'm trying really hard," He fluffed his hair with his hand trying to be calm, he hated how he was really trying, but sometimes was getting lost.

"Don't worry, I'm a good teacher," Cassandra said placing a hand on his shoulder, "Let's get us coffee, kai aftoí oi dýo agapitoí lígo pagotó. (And these two darlings some ice cream.)" she kept her smile on Mickey as they started to walk to a well-known place to buy coffee and ice cream.

The two children who rushed to the counter to pick their ice cream, leaving the adults in the queue, Mickey on the other hand watched as Cassandra glanced to him, "cold or hot?" She asked as her thumb placed to her lip, he could see a man's wedding ring on her thumb, and a tattoo of a drumstick.

"Cold," He replied trying to stop focusing on her thumb on her lip, her teeth now slowly biting it in her concentration.

She slowly turned to face him now, "I like the caramel one," She exhaled with a look of joy on her face, "Why don't you get us a table, kai tha páro ta potá kai to pagotó (and I'll get the drinks, and ice cream) …" She giggled to the children, her attention back to Mickey. "Óso perissótero miláte, tóso perissótera tha gnorízete. (The more you speak, the more you'll know.)"

"I know," He stated seeing a free table, he sat down as Cassandra was talking to Hector, and a part of him was frustrated that this woman was getting a lot more from his son in a few minutes than himself and Chloe have in months. He watched as Hector rushed to sit with him, "I got chocolate," He spoke carefully, he knew a little English, but not a lot.

"That's awesome," He said seeing as Kali rushed over sitting on a chair next to Hector, but her eyes focused on Mickey, "I'm sorry for being mean to Hector." She folded her arms, it seemed she was a handful, "Also, I am sorry for being rude." She glanced back over to Hector.
Hector smiled, "It's okay," He said, "But I promise, to not forget." He was careful with his words, and Mickey couldn't help but wonder if Aspa knew him slowly learning English as a good thing or not, but then he was still speaking Greek when he could.

Cassandra came back to the table sitting down, she laid a receipt before placing her bag on top of it, "Got to love the table service here." She said glancing around the place, it wasn't so busy, but at the same time people were more prone to take away.

A simple smile was all Mickey could do, his attention to the kids. "How long until the order gets here?" He asked trying to stop looking as if he was meant to be hiding something.

"Not long," Cassandra replied, she opened her bag taking out her phone, "When the kids inhale their ice cream, and no doubt run to the play area, we can talk." She quickly snap a photo of everyone else at the table.

"Yea," He watched her, he knew when someone was taking pictures, but tilted his head to one side, "Please don't tell me you're that woman."

"No, these are just for me," She pointed out putting her phone back into her bag, "You never realize how precious time is until you run out of it." Her smile held a soft sadness to it, and while she had her reasons, she didn't know Mickey well enough to disclose them to him. "Oh order," She jumped seeing the waitress bringing the ice coffees and ice cream over. "Se efcharistó pára polý (Thank you so much.)" she pushed a note to the woman as she left the table.

Cassandra was right about Hector and Kali eating their ice cream quick and running off to play, and Mickey grinned seeing that his son was happy playing with the girl who previously that day had pushed him over. "I honestly wish I could be like that." He didn't mean to say it out loud.

"Be a six-year-old again?" Cassandra said with a lighthearted laugh, she was watching as Kali was pushing Hector on a merry-go-round.

He couldn't help but laugh with her, "No," He wanted to stop laughing, "Not so long ago they were mad at each other, and now it's like it never even happened." He couldn't believe it was that simple to them.

"Well children don't really have resentment," She explained, "As we get older, our emotions become more solid, and we feel things longer." Her finger played with the ring around her thumb as she inhaled and exhaled a sigh. "So, Mickey. Where do you hail from?"

"The states," He gave the simple answer, "What about you?" he felt like this was a Q&A session.

Cassandra picked her glass up taking a sip through the straw, "Canada," she nodded, "I think it's my absolute positively nice attitude that gives it away…" she joked feeling better about Mickey.

"I see with the manners," He added to the joke, but then again, she was coming across as nice. "I guess now you must think of me as the rude one."

"Oh no…" she waved, "I mean it's easy to be complacent." She placed her drink down, "I mean how long have you lived here?" She lent forward watching him drinking some of his own coffee.

Mickey was on the spot, he placed the glass down, "Seven years, nearly eight…" He wanted to be smug about his time here, but he could tell she wasn't being impressed by it.

"Well, I've been here twelve," She pointed out, "But, I think it was the last seven years I got more confident in talking Greek, because I hated to be in the middle of a conversation struggling to keep up." Her hand pushed her hair behind her back.

"I know that too well," Mickey felt he could be honest with Cassandra, and he turned to see Hector was laughing and running around after Kali, "I think he likes her…"

"Yeah, until she shouts again," Cassandra added, "My daughter really is a bitch, but then I think it's the Greek in her." She joked trying to play off the fact she was trying her best to be a good mother.

Mickey turned back to her, "And Kali's father?" He was curious now, and he wasn't thinking it was bad to ask a question.

"He's," She placed a hand to a necklace around her neck that held her engagement ring, and her wedding band, "He passed away three years ago." She let the necklace go trying to not dwell on it.

He didn't mean to bring up a sad subject, "I'm sorry," He quickly wanted to change the direction of the conversation, "I'm not with Hector's mother, we've just recently started a joint custody."

"That's good," Cassandra drank more of her coffee, "Not many people co-parent well." She pointed out, "But then I am pretty sure it beats being a single parent alone." She now glanced to her watch, "Can I?" She took her phone out passing it to him. "Exchange numbers?" She asked.

"Oh yea!" Mickey took his phone out, he could see the message from Chloe, but pushed it off the notifications when unlocking and passing to Cassandra. He put his own number into the phone she gave him as she did the same thing. He glanced to her phone's wallpaper he could only assume was Kali as a baby and passed the phones back to Cassandra.

She smiled, "I can now start teaching you to be more confident in Greek." She finished her drink, and glanced to the watch, "I would love to stay longer, but Kali has a date." She looked serious. "Her yia-yia." She added to her sentence.

"Oh," He nodded, "I also need to get my son home to do his homework," He joked, but stood up holding a hand to Cassandra, "Thank you for helping me out." He added as he could see that Kali had already returned. Hector was by his side. "I'll text you later."

"Cool," She picked her bag up and took Kali's hand, "Maybe organize a playdate of our own." She took her hand back from Mickey walking away, she bit her lip and was trying to keep it cool as she didn't look back to him.

He watched as she walked away from him, he finally glanced to the message Chloe sent him, it was as always, an apology for how she acted the night before, and now it was just too common for her to snap at him, then say sorry. He didn't know if he cared anymore, but it hit him while Cassandra faded from view, it dawned on him what just happened with Cassandra.
