Lucy took great pride in her appearance. She wasn't stuck up or anything, but she enjoyed looking her best at all times. You could say she was a bit high maintenance.

She loved to pamper herself. Long, luxurious baths in oils, salts, and bubbles. Lotions and creams that made her skin soft and silky. The woman was radiant.

She even enjoyed the scents that most of these items came in. Some were subtle, others were not. But this is where the problem lied.

Natsu, her partner, best friend, and the man she was secretly in love with, couldn't stand these scents. Being a Dragon Slayer, his sense of smell was heightened, making even her most gentle smelling items irritate his nose often sending him into a sneezing fit; the worst ones made him sick.

He tried not to complain much. He just told her that he didn't care even when she apologized. They made her happy so he would handle it.

She was constantly trying to find items that were up to the standards she wanted while still being mild enough to not drive Natsu insane. This led her to the store she was currently in.

She and Natsu were finishing up a mission in Crocus. Natsu was in town somewhere looking for supplies for an all-boys camping trip that he was going on with Gajeel, Gray, and a few others when they got back. They would be gone for a month.

Lucy had stopped in the designer shop looking at a new clothing line when she saw a brand of beauty products that she was unfamiliar with. They were high quality and expensive.

Ever careful since turning invisible, she read through the ingredients. It was completely natural. There was nothing that could irritate her skin or hair. After asking the attendants, they confirmed that the products had gone through a massive testing stage and passed with flying colors.

Best of all: all of the products were completely unscented. The creator had an extreme allergy to perfumes.

She purchased enough to make a complete switch from all her old products. She wanted to do a thorough test before the boys got back from their trip. If she were to have a bad reaction, she'd rather they weren't around to teased her.

And, she didn't tell Natsu. She wanted to surprise him, and maybe test him a bit if she was being honest. She wasn't entirely sure the scents bothered him as badly as he said.

The next day, they returned home and the day after that the boys ran off to do boy things, which meant they were fighting without Erza to keep them in check.

For the first test, she only used the shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lotion, and deodorant.

The soap and shampoo got her properly cleaned. The conditioner rinsed completely out of her hair and left it silky and tangle free. The lotion soaked into her skin fully but not too quickly leaving it hydrated and soft to the touch without feeling greasy. The deodorant was different, but it did exact what it said it did.

At the end of the day, even though she'd been working with Erza, she couldn't smell herself. She didn't smell bad at all. Erza had even commented on it.

She tried all the products after that. The oils got used once a week in the bath with her hair treatments. By the end of the month, she'd thrown out all of her old products.

Her skin and hair felt like silk. She had occasionally gotten a few zits before, but now, nothing. She was in love with these products!

She felt pampered and refreshed. And after a little research, found out these products were about the same cost as her old ones. Bonus!

She would just have to go to Crocus to get them. She didn't mind that as they occasionally stopped through there at least once a month anyways.

The shop owner actually gave her a suggestion that Lucy liked for adding a scent when she wanted to. Fresh flower petals steeping in her bath water would add another little bit of luxury to her routine without overwhelming the dragon slayer's senses. Live plants in her apartment would also help clear the air and help his senses.

The boys came home the day they said they would late in the evening.

Happy decided to stay with Wendy because he had a gift for Charle. Natsu, naturally, came to Lucy's apartment after returning to tell her all about the trip and show her the interesting thing he wanted to bring her.

She wanted to see how he would react to the new products. Some of the other products could make the poor man dizzy. These shouldn't bother him at all.

She'd spent the entire day lounging in the bath with her oils and salts. She'd taken extra time to apply her lotions and allow her hair to dry slowly.

She felt like a goddess. Now it was time to see if Natsu would be able to be around her without having to hold his breath.
