Entering into "Our Mojo". Some nice little funnies, Chloe gets hit with the fact the brothers are twins, and poor Michael gets a little wee bit overwhelmed.
Onward!
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Lucifer struggled to sit still. No response had come after the last text they, well, he, had sent. He looked out the window in an effort not to stare at Chloe's phone which rested upon his knee. This was ridiculous. There had been no indication that Michael would even respond and yet here he was, fidgeting like a teenager waiting on a response from her crush. Why was he bothered so much? He hadn't honestly expected his twin to respond had he?
He had sent the text specifically worded. It was a phrase he had always used when he had wanted Michael to come with him for something. Lucifer had hoped it would at least get a response but apparently he had held his hopes too high.
Chloe watched Lucifer from the corner of her eye as she drove to the address given to her for their next case. He was beginning to look disappointed. She couldn't help but be a little disappointed herself.
"Come on, Lucifer. It's his choice."
"I'm aware, Detective." Lucifer sounded snappish but Chloe took it in stride.
They stepped out of the car and began to walk to the scene. Lucifer froze just at the gate causing Chloe to pause and look back at him.
"Lucifer?"
"He came."
Chloe gave him a confused look before turning to look in the direction he was looking. Sure enough, Michael was chatting with Ella in the walk way just before the steps of the house. She smiled softly turning back to Lucifer.
"Answer enough?"
Lucifer wouldn't look at her but he did start adjusting his cuff links and suit jacket adopting the air of someone not bothered in the slightest. Chloe rolled her eyes. Pity, she knew him better than that.
"Hey, you two!" Ella greeted cheerfully as they walked up. "I was beginning to wonder when you guys were going to get here."
"Sorry, Ella, we got a little laid up." Chloe answered.
Ella gave each of them a suggestive look. "Laid up huh?"
Michael groaned. "Can we not?"
"What? Embarrassed to hear the details?" Lucifer couldn't resist poking at his twin who glared at him with a glint in his own brown eyes.
"Hardly. Just not interested." Michael replied dryly.
Chloe sighed shaking her head when Ella sent her a look. They were at it again.
"They might help get rid of that V-card you hold so desperately to." Lucifer continued to poke. It came off as more of a question though, like Lucifer was fishing for information without outright asking.
Michael opened his mouth to retort but Ella beat him to it.
"No way." She gave Michael a friendly swat to the arm.
Michael rolled his eyes. "Does it really matter?"
"Well, no, of course not." Ella was quick to reassure. She did give him a quick once over. "Although, if I wasn't already taken I could offer my services."
"No!" Both twins chorused before looking at each other with matching expressions of bewilderment.
Chloe watched the whole scene in mild discomfort. Seriously?
Ella looked between the two brothers with a confused and put out expression. "Geez, guys, way to douse a girl, I didn't think I was that bad of an option."
Michael looked scandalized.
"That is entirely not the case, Miss Lopez." Lucifer jumped to assure the young woman. "It's just Michael wouldn't know what to do with you." Lucifer could not voice that the idea of the two of them made his insides squirm weirdly. And he wasn't technically lying. Even his first time was all an awkward mess of what went where.
Michael was so tense at this point he reminded Chloe of a trap waiting to be triggered. "I'm sure I could figure it out, Lucifer."
"Okay!" Chloe jumped in before Lucifer could continue with poking at his brother. She sent him a pointed look. This was not how they were going to get Michael to open up to them. "Can we get back on track, please?" She paused as part of what Ella had said registered. "Wait, you have a thing?"
Ella smiled focusing on Chloe and ignoring the two brothers glaring at each other over their heads. "Yeah. You remember the cute reporter, super nice?" Chloe nodded to which Ella continued excitedly. "Well, we met up last night and let me tell you, he is not always so nice." Her tone told exactly how 'not nice' he had been.
Chloe giggled a bit with the smaller woman. Even Lucifer had tuned into what was being said and smiled at Ella in a congratulatory manner. He felt some relief. So it wasn't the idea of Miss Lopez doing the horizontal tango with someone that bothered him, but the only other option was that it was the idea of Michael being with someone. Oh now that was certainly uncomfortable.
Michael huffed and grumbled. "Isn't there a dead person whose case needs to get solved?"
Chloe and Ella both smacked Michael; one for each arm, with mild glares for the disrespect. Lucifer sniggered.
"I'm just saying." Michael motioned toward the door with one arm.
Chloe nodded motioning for all to enter to begin their work. They had gotten a bit sidetracked, hadn't they?
Ella started taking her pictures and giving details of the victim. Sitting in a chair, a bouquet of white lilies in her hands, with blood trialing out of her mouth, she looked romantically morbid. Chloe shivered at the blatant display.
Michael observed the woman. Mild traces of her fear still lingered in the air around her body. "Paralyzed, unable to move, her only option was to literally watch her killer murder her." He sighed. "It's depressing really."
The other three eyed him strangely.
"It's hella scary is what it is." Ella commented.
Chloe shook off the chill that had run down her spine. Damn, next time her and Trixie had scary story night she should invite Michael. His voice alone would be enough to set the mood. "What suspects do we have?"
"An annoyed neighbor?" Lucifer suggested.
Chloe shrugged. "Maybe, but there is no signs of forced entry. Diane most likely knew them."
Lucifer was not put off. "Jilted lover then?" He motioned to the blood sprinkled flowers.
"She gets flowers all the time." Michael jumped in pointing to the numerous flowers covering a large table nearby. Lucifer huffed at him in slight annoyance. Michael smirked.
Chloe ignored the exchange. "She is an opera singer." She turned to Ella. "Who found the body?"
Ella pointed them toward a scrawny, nerdy type hovering awkwardly nearby introducing him.
Lucifer perked up. "Well, annoyed neighbor it is."
Chloe sighed motioning for Michael to follow them. He did at a sedated pace seeming almost content to just observe them for the time being. Lucifer was the first to reach Norman.
"Hello, must have been pretty annoying living next to an opera singer all the time. Tell me, what do you desire?"
Chloe leaned in and noticed Michael watching just as intently.
Norman blinked. "What a weird thing to ask man."
Lucifer leaned away from the scrawny man. Chloe blinked in surprise. Michael narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Slowly, Lucifer turned to look at Chloe. His expression baffled her. It was confused, weary, and startled all at the time. Before she could say anything, Lucifer was off cornering others that were just trying to do their jobs. Chloe turned back to Norman with a sigh making note that Michael was following Lucifer with his eyes. Okay, ask questions, and then deal with celestial stuff after.
While Chloe focused on Norman, Lucifer dashed about asking anyone who would pause long enough what they would desire. Not once did it work. Michael couldn't believe what he was seeing. What the hell had happened since the last time he had seen his brother? He grabbed Lucifer on one of his many passes by him.
"Just stop. It's obviously not working."
Lucifer ripped his arm from his grip. "I can see that." He was shaky and obviously becoming very uneasy.
"What did you do?"
"What do you mean 'what did I do'?"
Michael pitched an eyebrow at Lucifer who gestured aggravated.
"I don't know! This has never happened before." Lucifer paused a moment before looking over at Chloe who was making her way to them being done with Norman.
"Lucifer, what's going on?"
"Detective, I think you may have stolen my mojo." Lucifer stated uneasily.
Chloe scoffed. "How in the world could I have stolen your mojo?"
Michael tensed. Had Chloe stolen his brothers ability? If she had, could she really be using his?
"The other morning, after we had sex, you used it then."
Michael blinked. They've had sex? Well, of course they have. Michael crossed his arms irritated.
"That was joke, Lucifer. I do not have your mojo."
"Try it then." Lucifer looked determined as he leaned into Chloe.
Chloe looked around nervously. "You're joking? I am not going to mojo you. I can't."
"Humor me, Detective."
Chloe looked around them again. Everyone else seemed focused on their own tasks and not paying them any attention. She gave an aggravated sigh. "Fine." She snapped leaning in to look into Lucifer's eyes. "Lucifer, what do you desire?"
Michael felt his pulse race. He watched Lucifer's eyes go slightly vacant for a split moment.
"I want my mojo back." Lucifer growled before seeming to snap out of it standing quickly upright.
Chloe gasped in surprise. "What…what just happened?"
Michael stared at her. That wasn't possible. It couldn't be.
"Did I just…" Chloe continued. Surprise and maybe even a little excitement filled her voice. "Cool."
"No, not cool." Lucifer argued.
"Come on, Lucifer, we just got together, what, three days ago? Don't start finding things to freak out about."
"Find? Detective, all I've done is loose stuff." Lucifer was beginning to sound slightly panicked.
Michael shook his head. This was too much. Between Chloe and Lucifer, fear was growing thick in the air making his own fear at the current situation even worse. He was starting to choke on it a bit. It was not a pleasant feeling at all.
"Wait, wait." Michael spoke over them to get their attention. "If this is what happens when we have sex with humans I'm going to keep my V-card and wear it proudly, thank you very much."
Lucifer gave him a weird look but it had the intended effect on Chloe. She snorted before chuckling a bit behind her hand. Michael smiled at her feeling like a he could breathe just a little better.
Lucifer rolled his eyes. "Yes, make fun of the powerless Devil."
"I wasn't making fun, Lucifer. Your fear was ramping up a bit too high so I cut it down a notch." Michael tried to explain with a roll of his eyes. Excuse him for trying to help.
Lucifer looked at him before looking at Chloe. She smiled softly before giving a small nod. Lucifer relaxed a bit afterwards but did not look at Michael. Michael sighed. Seems Lucifer knew about Chloe's lie detector skills as well. Wonderful.

They had gathered in the conference room shortly after leaving the scene. Each of them took different roles in going through the evidence. Michael was the lucky one that got to go through the victim's phone. He sat in one of the chairs by Ella who was looking over some of the files.
"Going by Diane's calendar she had a meeting with a Mario Canales at the time the neighbor heard the fight." Ella mentioned.
Michael toned them out a bit as he found the name in the contact list. Chloe was right. Diane did know Canales well. Michael rolled his eyes with a groan tossing the phone to Ella who was barely able to catch it.
"Easy, Michael, that's evidence." Ella admonished.
"What is it with humans and sex? It's like it controls your lives or something." Michael knew his annoyance and sarcasm was coming out loud and clear. He did not care.
Chloe sent him a questioning look as Ella started looking through the texts he had pulled up.
"Well it is rather enjoyable. Simply, it feels good." Lucifer said with a teasing grin, that was, until the twins made eye contact. They quickly looked away from each other.
Chloe noticed and was instantly curious. What was that little display about?
"Looks like Michael found possible motive." Ella showed turned the phone around to show Lucifer and Chloe. "Check out this sext chain guys."
Lucifer grinned, the previous awkwardness clearly forgotten. "Nothing like getting a little creative with throat exercises."
Chloe felt herself flush a bit when he looked at her teasingly. Michael did his best to ignore their little flirtation.
"His website clearly says he has a wife and kids." Chloe pointed out.
"Sounds like the vocal coach got worried Diane would sing to his wife." Lucifer started.
"So he cut her off before she could." Michael finished.
The twins glanced at each other nervously, clearly unsure how to respond or react to the fact they had been so in tune with the other for that split moment. Chloe shared a secret smile with Ella.
BAM.
All four jumped at the sound of someone obviously running into the glass door. Michael turned his chair as Ella ran to open the door.
"Oh God, Pete. You okay?" Ella asked worriedly letting the other man in.
Michael felt the hairs on his arm raise suddenly. He glanced over the new human. Sweet smile. Clumsy movements. Nerdy type. Michael moved to stand edging back closer to Chloe and Lucifer. He glanced at his twin but Lucifer did not appear to notice anything wrong. Perhaps, Michael was projecting a bit. He had been feeling off center since Chloe's visit to the villa. Maybe his instincts were going a bit wonky as well. The human did after all appear to be perfectly harmless.
Michael jumped when Ella let loose with weird gruff noises. Pete returned it. They certainly knew the language but what the hell? Michael twisted his head confusion clear on his face. He turned to Chloe when they continued.
"What is going on?"
Chloe sniggered a bit at his expression. "Star Trek. It's a TV show."
Michael looked distinctly uncomfortable and confused. Chloe kind of felt sorry for him.
"But Star Trek is your thing." Lucifer grumbled to Ella.
Ella was smiling. "The 24th century is big enough for the both of us."
Lucifer stepped back beside Chloe as Ella and Pete started talking to each other making plans for the convention. He looked a bit disturbed but no more than the twin on her other side. Chloe nudged him.
"See? Sharing doesn't have to be so hard." She whispered.
Both twins heard her. Lucifer smiled a bit tensely. Michael shifted a bit but did not take his eyes off of Pete.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

The day had been a bust all things considered. They had followed the leads and, so far, had come to dead ends. Their newest lead wouldn't touch back on land for another couple hours, so, stalemate. Chloe figured since there was nothing else they could do until they could interview Niels that she could spend some time with Lucifer.
Chloe stopped by Lux for a quick check in with Amenadiel before heading up to the penthouse. She was rounding the stairs when she noticed a familiar form haunting the bar. Chloe watched Michael a moment. Lucifer was expecting her, and she had no reason to approach Michael at the moment, but something about his posture just didn't sit right with her.
She approached, resting a hand on his shoulder and leaning close. "Hey." Michael jumped twisting to look at her. She smiled at him while he looked just a touch irritated at being startled. "I have to admit it feels good being on this side of things for once." Chloe teased.
Michael grumbled under his breath. He was clearly not amused. "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you that same thing. I didn't peg this as your scene."
"It's not." Michael finished off the glass he had declining the refill Patrick offered. He faced her more directly. Chloe watched multiple thoughts flicker over his face. "I wasn't ready to return to…silence."
Chloe noted the truth he was telling her even as the loudness of the club was obviously starting to make him uncomfortable. She could tell from the tightness of his shoulders before she even approached. Chloe pondered a moment before reaching a decision.
"Come up with me."
A beat passed. "Excuse me?"
Chloe smiled and repeated her statement.
Michael narrowed his eyes a bit. "Why?"
Chloe sighed. He was getting suspicious with her again. She honestly was just trying to help for crying out loud. "Look, it is just a suggestion. It won't be silent but it won't be ridiculously loud either. We can chat or something."
Michael thought over her proposal. She did have a point. Talking in the quiet of the penthouse would be preferable to the club but it put him directly in Lucifer's domain. Michael wasn't entirely sure he wanted to put himself in that position at the current time but the small amount of hopefulness he noted in Chloe's eyes pulled him up short. She wanted him to come up but why? What was her agenda? Michael searched her a bit but came up empty. Chloe was currently not nervous or the least little bit afraid. Maybe she did just wish for his company? But she had Lucifer, why would she invite him?
"It's okay if you don't want to." Chloe stated after a few moments.
Michael had obviously taken too long in his ponderings. He sighed audibly. What could it really hurt? They had already shattered his original plans anyway. "Okay."
The ride up was silent yet surprisingly comfortable. Chloe kept stealing glances at the archangel beside her but he did not appear to be hiding anything tonight. If anything he seemed a bit subdued but he had been like that the whole time he had been with them. Not for the first time, Chloe wondered what he was thinking about.
The elevator dinged to a stop. Chloe stepped out first calling for Lucifer and filling him in. She didn't see him but knew he was there and would be able to hear her. Michael was just behind her.
"So nothing else we can do but wait. I brought com…oh my."
Chloe's eyes widened in shock as arousal shot through her. Lucifer was laid out on the bed completely naked like some kind of offering and obviously already in a mood if the hardened state of him was anything to go by. She swallowed thickly completely forgetting about Michael.
"Brother! Really!"
Right up until that moment.
Lucifer immediately jerked into a sitting position grabbing the first pillow he could grab. "What the…Nobody said anything about you coming along." He growled out glaring hotly at Michael who simply rolled his eyes.
Chloe felt heat rush to her cheeks. "I found him down in Lux and invited him up. If you had told me…"
"It was meant to be a surprise!" Lucifer quickly reached over to grab his robe to slip on.
Michael tsked at them. "Well, I wouldn't want to ruin your evening so I'll just leave you two to it, shall I?"
He turned to leave but Chloe felt the lie and heard the tiniest hint of jealousy in his words.
Lucifer scoffed. "You are already here brother, so you might as well stay."
Lucifer by this point had gotten his robe around him and was tying it firmly. His motions screamed aggravated but he wasn't looking at Michael anymore. To Chloe, it looked like he was avoiding Michael's gaze. Michael must have noticed the same thing for he smirked.
"What are you embarrassed?" Michael teased earning a sideways glare from his twin. "Please, it is nothing that I haven't already seen or do not have a duplicate of."
Chloe felt heat flood her body and settle in her lower regions. She certainly felt overheated by the images that statement brought forth. They were twins, weren't they? Identical twins as well. It made sense that, well, everything would be identical, right? Her throat was tight and she suddenly found it very hard to swallow. Chloe must have made some kind of noise for the twins both looked over at her with strange expressions on their identical faces. She was so screwed.
"Are you quite alright there, Detective?"
Chloe looked over at Lucifer trying very hard to not to blush. The heat in her cheeks told her she was failing. Lucifer looked at her concerned but there was also a glint of knowing in his eyes. Of course there was.
Michael snorted an amused laugh bringing her attention to him. His brown eyes held their own glint. Was he really as virginal as Lucifer made him out to be? The heat in his gaze made Chloe doubt that very seriously.
"Or something, right, noted." Michael teased her with her earlier words.
Chloe buried her heated face in her hands. She was not hiding damn it. "No, just no." Chloe needed to get away for a moment. She needed to get out from under their stares. Chloe lowered her hands but did not look at them. "I'm going to freshen up." She mumbled before quickly making her way to the bathroom and firmly shutting the door behind her.
Michael chuckled amused as he shifted on his feet. He had not intended for her mind to go where it had went but she had flushed so attractively. Of course, his thoughts turned in a similar direction. Would she make more little sounds like the one she just had if…Michael was forced out of the vision as he was slammed into the wall behind him. He grunted with the force of it. Lucifer had pinned him with an arm across his collar bone just centimeters away from being able to press down on his throat.
"Don't even think about it." Lucifer snarled.
Michael smirked. "Think about what?" He knew exactly what his brother was talking about.
Lucifer called his bluff moving his arm up over his throat. He pressed closer and the pressure from his arm made it hard to breathe. Michael gasped. He could feel his brothers body pressing into him and shivered. Michael could feel his heart rate begin to pick up and started to panic. His hands pushed at Lucifer but Lucifer was as solid as the wall behind him.
Lucifer could feel Michael's pulse racing under his skin. Hands pushed at him half-heartedly. If Michael was serious about pushing him away he could but his brother appeared to be low key panicking.
"Michael."
Michael snapped his eyes up to meet Lucifer's. Something flashed in them too quick for Michael to pinpoint exactly what it was but he froze. Lucifer's stare was intense. The pressure against his throat stayed steady but Lucifer stepped closer. Michael tried to move back but the wall wouldn't let him. He could smell Lucifer now. It was such a familiar smell that his eyes started to flutter against his will.
Sudden memories raced through Lucifer's mind. Michael's scent filled his senses. It had been so long since they had been this close, without trying to maim each other that he had almost forgotten. His twin felt warm as he stepped just that little bit closer. An old desire flared in his chest making his stomach flutter and his heart race. It was forbidden, this desire, but they had not cared before, why should they care now?
"Michael." Lucifer whispered.
Once again, Michael found his eyes drawn to his twins. They stared at each other neither saying a word. Michael watched as Lucifer's eyes glanced down before shooting back up to meet his again. His heart jumped into his throat. They were both simmering on arousal and much too close. Chills ran down Michael's body. Conflicting thoughts of 'not again' and 'please' raced through his head. Lucifer leaned closer to him. They were close enough their breaths mingled. Michael clutched at Lucifer's biceps. He wanted. He wanted so damn bad.
The opening of the bathroom door had the two jumping apart as though struck by lightning. Lucifer turned to Chloe while Michael stumbled away to press his hands against the piano. Damn. Damn, damn, damn. He shouldn't be doing this. He shouldn't even be here. Michael was feeling light headed as he tried to catch his breath. He knew he should have ignored that text. He knew he should not have come up with Chloe. He knew it!
"Michael."
Michael twisted on Chloe startling her back a few steps into Lucifer who stood just behind her. He took them in; really looked at them. They were beautiful, they really were. Lucifer stood behind Chloe to her right making her left side look wrongly empty. Michael had a brief thought wondering what the three of them would look like; him standing behind her to her left. His chest tightened with a sudden longing but knew it was futile. There wasn't room for him and besides, even if Chloe wanted him, Lucifer didn't. He never had.
Michael pulled his anger over him like a cloak. Chloe stepped toward him. She knew what he was doing. He would not give her the chance to stop him. Michael grabbed her face quickly between his hands making her look at him. He needed to make her fear him enough to stay away. Lucifer moved to no doubt save her from his grip but Michael was faster.
"What do you fear?"
Michael felt his power rush over her. He noticed Lucifer freeze in his periphery. He refused to move his gaze from Chloe's. Chloe shivered under his hands her eyes fluttering. Slowly her hands grip his moving them from her face.
"Not you." She replied softly.
Michael jerked away from her tripping over the piano stool in his haste to get away. He stared at her wide eyed. Lucifer was doing the same. It hadn't worked. It hadn't worked.
"Wait, Michael, we need to talk." Chloe tried to reach him.
Michael spread his wings and with one mighty flap was gone.
