We get a bit of everyone's POV here.

Lucifer visits the good doctor, Chloe makes a few discoveries, and Michael has a little heart to heart with Ella.

Lucifer charged in through the front door. Linda jumped completely unprepared for the panicked Devil.

"Lucifer! What…"

"Doctor, I need your help. The Dete…" Lucifer paused very briefly. "What is that noise?" It was a weird clicking he had not heard before. He looked around trying to find the source.

Linda pointed at her chest. "I'm pumping."

Lucifer just looked at her. Weird, but okay. Anyway… "The Detective stole my mojo and is also immune to Michael's."

Linda blinked confused. "Slow down Lucifer." She took a breath. "Can we focus on one thing at a time? What do you mean Chloe stole your mojo?" Linda continued packing her things for the day.

Lucifer huffed clearly impatient. "Just what I said, Doctor. We had sex a couple days ago…"

"Wait, what?" Linda flipped around to smile at him. "Finally! That's wonderful!"

"Yes, it was but she somehow stole my mojo in the process." Lucifer fidgeted.

Linda noticed how upset he clearly was. "Are you sure?"

Lucifer gave her a stern look. "Yes, Doctor, I'm sure. She has used my mojo multiple times now while I can't seem to use it at all." Linda tried to talk but Lucifer talked over her. As usual. "Then Michael tried to use his mojo on the Detective last night…"

Linda gasped. "What happened?"

"Nothing. Nothing happened, Doctor. Apparently, the Detective is just as immune to Michael's mojo as she is to mine."

Lucifer was pacing by this point. One hand rested on his hip but the other was messing up his hair that Linda was sure he had spent copious amounts of time perfecting that morning.

"Chloe is immune to Michael?"

Both turned to see Amenadiel walking into the room holding Charlie. He wore a confused expression to match Linda's and Lucifer's.

"Apparently." Lucifer huffed.

"How is that possible, Luci?" Amenadiel asked as he bounced Charlie on his hip.

"How should I know?" Lucifer snapped. "Nothing has made sense since my twin arrived. If he hadn't have torn out of the penthouse like the Detective had set his wings on fire I would accuse him of setting all of this up."

Amenadiel chuckled at the image but quickly sobered at his brother's glare.

"That means Michael is just as surprised and likely as upset as you are, Lucifer." Linda interjected. "What made him use his powers on Chloe anyway?"

Lucifer fidgeted some more. "We may have inadvertently cornered him."

"You did what?" Amenadiel swore. "I warned Chloe not to corner him and you know better, Luci." He admonished in a tone only an elder brother could use. Lucifer bristled under it. "What was he even doing at the penthouse in the first place?"

"The Detective invited him up. We've been working the newest case together…"

"You're working cases together? When did this happen?" Amenadiel handed Charlie to Linda when she reached for him. "Maybe you should start at the beginning."

Lucifer obviously wanted to protest but a stern look from his elder brother had him complying. As Lucifer talked they settled at the dining table. Charlie was placed with his toys when Linda finished pumping. She moved to the kitchen just out of sight to empty and store her breast milk while listening to Lucifer.

"I figured she was going to try something like this when she came to talk to me." Amenadiel admitted. "I am surprised you are going along with it."

"It's not like it's the worst idea in the world." Lucifer sighed. "I never understood why he was mad at me either. I admit that it has been bothering me."

A faraway look entered his eyes. Amenadiel looked over at Linda as she joined them again. She had noticed the look as well.

"There was a moment last night that…I thought maybe…" Lucifer trailed off. He never finished his sentence. The way Michael had looked at him and gripped his arms, the familiar warm scent, Lucifer had felt the stirrings of feelings long thought gone.

The parents shared another concerned look. Amenadiel sighed. "You must have some idea, Luci."

Lucifer didn't respond but Linda noticed tightness to his shoulders that hadn't been there before. She stood to move closer to her friend.

"Lucifer?" She questioned softly.

"What does it mean?" Lucifer's voice was quiet.

"What does what mean?"

Lucifer shuddered out a sigh. "That the Detective is immune to both of us."

He knew what he wanted it to mean, deep down, but couldn't admit to it. Admitting it would be admitting a weakness. It would mean admitting he still cared for a brother that had lied to him and failed him. It meant admitting that maybe Chloe just wasn't enough by herself. It was stupid. Of course she was. The Detective was wonderful; she was everything. He tried so hard to drown those memories but now they were all he could think about. Part of him wanted to recreate those memories but with the addition of the Detective…maybe…if he could ever figure out what he had done that was so wrong.

Wait, why was he thinking like this? He couldn't think like that. It wasn't allowed, but since when did he ever do what he was supposed to? Memories of soft warmth, happy smiles, and gentle caresses returned unbidden. They had been so happy despite partaking in the forbidden. And the Detective…what would she think if she discovered what they had done? He fisted a hand in his hair not caring at the moment if it messed it up. Why did things always have to get so bloody complicated? He just wanted a little bit of happiness; was that really too much to bloody ask for?

Linda felt her heart go out for him. Despite all his flaws, he had really come to love Chloe, whether the Devil admitted it or not. It was becoming clear to her that Lucifer feared that this new information might mean losing Chloe. Linda wasn't so sure. She was sure that there was still something simmering between the brothers that Chloe appeared to be reawakening. Linda had her theories, but they were just that; theories. Until one, or both, of them opened up they would never know what happened.

"Lucifer." Linda said just as quietly. "There is obviously a missing part of the story. Until we know what that part is, we cannot help you."

Lucifer tensed even further. He sighed. "I can't."

Linda tilted her head at him. Amenadiel stood to get Charlie who started fussing but clearly was still paying apt attention. "Why can't you?" Linda questioned keeping the same soft tone.

"We promised we would tell no one. It's our secret."

Linda did not need to ask who 'we' was. She looked at Amenadiel who looked unsure. He shrugged and shook his head. Linda turned back to Lucifer. Despite the anger, the hatred, Lucifer was still keeping this secret close. He would not tell her. She doubted he would ever tell anyone willingly. Linda wondered if Michael held the secret just as close. She wondered if it was the secret that caused everything in the first place.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Chloe sighed waiting to question Niels. Lucifer had dashed off to Linda's almost immediately this morning and had yet to return to her side. She honestly could not blame him. Everything was all topsy turvy and screwed all kinds of up. Chloe hoped that Linda was able to help him where she couldn't.

The interview with Niels went about as smoothly as she could have expected. On a whim, she had tried to use Lucifer's mojo, but it hadn't worked. Of course it didn't. She had no idea what had come over her.

Chloe tried texting Michael. She even called once but received no answer and no reply. Seems she was on her own so she returned to the precinct to look over the files one more time.

She was returning to her desk from the restroom when Michael appeared out of nowhere, grabbed her arm, and pulled her roughly into the interrogation room. Chloe jerked away from him as he shut the door behind him.

"Ow. What the hell, Michael?"

Michael said nothing. He simply stood against the door and stared at her. His jacket was missing today leaving him in just his dark turtleneck and slacks. Chloe thought he looked much better without the jacket.

Not now, Decker. Chloe chastised herself.

"I don't understand something." He stepped a few steps closer to her. Chloe felt nervous under his stare. "You are a gift for Lucifer. That much was very clear."

"No." Chloe said firmly. "My immunity is the gift." Michael was not going to screw with her again.

Michael waved her statement off. "Regardless, you were meant for Lucifer." He said it so firmly as though it was the only truth that existed and he didn't understand why no one was listening to him.

He was now standing toe to toe with her. Chloe had to look up to meet his eyes. They were dark but honest. He was not hiding from her today. There was something in those eyes that set her stomach to fluttering. Where was he going with this?

She took a deep breath to speak but paused as his scent filled her. It was subtle but warm and set her mouth to watering weirdly enough. How had she not noticed it before? She had been close to Michael, had even kissed him and flirted with him. It was a ploy, of course, but she had been close enough that she would have picked up on it before, but she hadn't. Even Lucifer's scent seemed to be growing stronger recently, more noticeable, more alluring.

"You are mortal. Our powers should work on you. I know Amenadiel's does." Michael tilted his head as his eyes swept over her. "How, why, are you only immune to Lucifer and I? What does it mean? What is Father doing?" His voice was so soft it almost felt like a ghost of a whisper on her skin.

Chloe shook her head. "You're asking the wrong one."

Michael huffed and rolled his eyes. "Rhetorical questions, Chloe, heard of them?"

Chloe smiled softly. There he was. "I've heard of them."

They continued to look at each other never breaking eye contact.

"What about you pulls us in so much? What makes you so special?"

Michael was talking more to himself than to her. Chloe let him. The look that passed in his eyes rooted her to the spot. A hand reached up to trail along her cheek to brush a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She turned her head into it but that scent remained subtle, just barely within reach. Where did it originate from? She met his eyes. For a moment, Chloe felt like he was going to kiss her, but then he sighed and stepped away. She took a deep, refreshing breath to calm her suddenly racing heart.

"Michael…"

Chloe wanted to say something. What she was going to say she had no clue but she couldn't let him walk away looking so miserable. Before she could figure it out the door opened to admit Lucifer.

The three looked at each other. If Chloe had a knife she could probably cut the tension that filled the room. The twins stared at each other as though in some kind of contest but Michael was the first to look away. Lucifer blinked before turning to look at her.

"Daniel said Michael dragged you in here."

Chloe was prepared to tell him off for being so suspicious but his voice didn't hold suspicion at all. It actually sounded kind of flat. What was going on with the two of them? Sure they weren't fighting, which was what she had hoped to accomplish, but this was worse. Far worse.

"He needed to vent a bit. How did things go with Linda?"

"Decently. Anything with the interview from Niels?"

Michael groaned. "This is painful."

Lucifer cut a glare. "No one asked you."

"It went fine." Chloe jumped in. "I did discover I do not have mojo though."

Both twins looked at her confused.

"Detective, we both saw…"

Chloe shook her head. "It didn't actually work on Mario. He called earlier. He is a fan of Hot Tub High school, that's why he was so star-struck." She looked pointedly at both of them. "I have never had mojo."

"But I felt it, Detective." Lucifer argued.

Michael looked thoughtful. "Chloe, try it on Lucifer again."

Chloe was about to protest but Lucifer jumped to agree. She rolled her eyes but complied looking into Lucifer's eyes that were suddenly very close. "What do you desire?"

That same vacant look took over. "I want to know what's happening." With a blink he leaned back in clear distress. Shakely, he reached for his flask. "I hate this." He mumbled.

Michael touched Chloe's shoulder turning her to him. "Try mine."

"What good would that do?" She was getting so tired of all of this. Why can nothing ever be simple for her?

"Please just humor me. I need to know." Michael implored. He looked so desperate. It was not a look the settled well on him. It never settled well on Lucifer either.

Chloe sent a look to Lucifer who nodded wearily. She sighed meeting Michael's eyes. "What do you fear?" She whispered almost afraid that it would work.

Michael blinked at her before relief filled his entire posture. "Thank Father." He breathed.

Lucifer groaned. "You are immune to us both and can mojo me with my own mojo which I no longer have. Bloody fantastic."

"Lucifer, I'm sorry that this is happening. I don't understand this either but I wish I did so I could help you through this. Help you both through this." Chloe reached for both of them. They looked at her hands before looking at each other. "But I know we can figure this out if we work together, as a team." She shared a significant look with each twin.

The two looked at each other again as though judging the others response. Chloe waited forcing herself to remain calm. Slowly, never removing their eyes from the others, each twin reached out at the same time to grip one of her hands in their own. Only then did they look to her. Chloe squeezed each hand in silent support. They may have taken several steps backward but it seemed that maybe they were starting to take a few forward as well.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

They agreed to separate for the night as emotions were still running a bit high. Chloe needed the time with Trixie anyway.

She had barely woken the next morning when her phone rang. Another murder had been called in that matched their previous victim. Chloe was quick to get her and Trixie ready. They were heading out the door only to come close to hitting Dan with it. He heard about the call in and had decided to help her out by getting Trixie to school so she could head straight over. Dan really was so much better as a co-parent than a husband.

Chloe was halfway to the scene when she remembered to inform the twins. While at a stop light, she quickly added each of them to a group text and sent the information to both of her boys. Chloe dropped her phone when she realized what she had thought. Both of her boys? When had they become hers? Well, Lucifer was hers, clearly, but when did Michael get added to the mix? A loud honk pulled her back into reality. Right. Case first.

Lucifer and Michael both had somehow ended up beating her to the scene. She took a minute to ponder how that had happened but then she remembered how Lucifer drives, if he even drove, and that Michael most likely flew. Chloe was starting to wish she had her own pair of wings if for nothing else than to avoid traffic.

Ella filled her in on their newest victim.

"It's a carbon copy of Diane's." Chloe stated sadly.

Lucifer looked around the scene. "I feel like we're in a Hell Loop."

"We are dealing with a serial killer. The lilies are his MO."

"I should have known. The previous scene was too clean." Ella was obviously beginning to beat herself up for something that was not her fault.

Michael placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "There is no point in beating yourself up. It won't help anything."

Chloe noted the gentleness of his voice. Ella leaned gently into his touch accepting the comfort for what it was. Chloe shook off the flare of jealousy. Michael had stated that Ella reminded him of his sister. It wasn't a lie so she needed to cool it. What the hell was going on with her lately? Why would she even care if Michael was interested in Ella? Focus, Decker.

"The stargazer lilies are only sold by a few stores. It should be easy enough to determine which ones sold the flowers in the last twenty four hours." Chloe stated. She watched the twins venture a few paces away to observe the surrounding room.

"I did find this." Ella held up a small bag of glitter. "I had thought it was a clue but turns out it was just an occupational hazard for Madison."

"She was a stripper?" Lucifer asked.

Michael swatted him before pointing to a bookcase that Chloe couldn't see. "Try teacher."

Ella chuckled softly. "Elementary school teacher. Good eye, Michael."

Michael smirked at Lucifer in victory while Lucifer grumbled at him causing Chloe to smile softly herself. She could imagine the twins being quite the duo if they really wanted to be. She was also beginning to notice that while Lucifer was more big-picture, Michael had a keen eye for details.

"It's frustrating." Ella said making Chloe turn her attention back to the forensic scientist. "We are only finding what the killer wants us to find."

Chloe nodded. "The good thing is that his calling card is very, very unique."

"Slashing vocal cords." Ella sighed sadly. "Why would he do that?"

The twins had made their way back to the two women by this point. Lucifer stopped by Chloe while Michael moved to crouch in front of the body.

"The answer to that is simple." Michael commented quietly. He turned to look at Chloe and Lucifer his dark eyes intense. "To take their power."

It took Chloe a few moments to shake the shivers away.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

The crime scene photos for both victims were spread out in front of him. Michael was looking over each one with a critical eye. They were currently waiting for information to come back and with little else to do other than sit and look pretty, Michael decided to look back over everything in case a clue had been missed. So far he was coming up empty handed. It was frustrating. He couldn't understand why he was trying so hard to be helpful.

The minute he learned that Chloe was immune he should have ran and not come back. He had though. Michael couldn't get the pleading look she had given him right before he flew away out of his mind. Chloe had wanted him to stay. Michael had wanted to stay but it had become too much. They were drowning him.

Michael had returned to the precinct and cornered her away. He threw questions at her that he knew she would have no answer for. Chloe let him with a look of pure understanding. It was very possible that his questions had been her questions as well. He had called her special, he remembered, and she was. Michael had not seen it before but he did now. He didn't know why she was here or why she was immune to them but then Father never did share his plans with any of them. It was a fact that had annoyed all of them and still did.

Michael had wanted to kiss her then. The urge, the desire, was so strong he had almost given into it. He wanted to know what kissing her would be like, how her lips would feel against his own, and what she would taste like. It has been so long since he had last kissed anyone Michael couldn't help but wonder if he would even remember how. It was that thought that had him stepping away from her. That and the memory of the last forbidden person he had kissed.

A deep sigh left him as he leaned back in the chair he was sitting in. Michael allowed his head to fall back and closed his eyes. He was in much, much too deep and he was uncertain he was going to be able to climb out.

"Not finding anything?" Ella questioned.

Michael lifted his head to look at her. He had sequestered himself in her lab. There weren't as many people to distract him and she was relatively quiet. Ella was a hummer when she was focused but Michael found he didn't mind that much. Ella finished jotting down her notes to look at him in question. He shook his head.

Ella sighed. "Bummer. It was a good thought though. You have such a good eye I figured you might get lucky."

Michael shrugged. "I wasn't expecting much. No insult meant toward your skills with a camera, but photos just aren't the same."

"Nah." Ella waved his comment away with a smile. "I totally get you."

Michael returned the smile with a small one of his own.

He looked out the window to see Chloe and Lucifer sitting together talking. They could have been talking about anything but he was pretty sure it was not about the case at hand considering the soft smiles that graced both their features. Part of him wanted to be upset; wanted to feel jealous, but he couldn't muster enough of the feeling for it to be worth acting on. Sure, he was still angry and still holding onto the hurt from so long ago; Michael did not think that it would ever go away, but Azrael had been right. If he hurt Lucifer he would have to hurt Chloe. He wasn't bitter enough to blame Chloe for anything. In fact, she had been somewhat understanding and very patient with him considering his outbursts with her. He supposed she would be used to it from Lucifer.

"Why don't you go sit with them? I'm sure they will let you."

Michael twisted to look at Ella. "Who said I wanted to sit with them?"

Ella gave him a knowing smile. "Come on, it's written all over your face."

"It is not." He crossed his arms over his chest looking back at the photos. He probably looked like a petulant child but he couldn't find it in himself to care.

Ella sighed. She pulled out one of the chairs to sit beside him. "You've missed him, haven't you?"

Michael laughed. "My entire goal for coming down here was to ruin his life. How does that equate to me missing him?"

"Was your goal?" Ella smirked at him knowing she caught him. Michael rolled his eyes looking back out at the couple. "Michael, you can be angry with someone and still miss them."

Michael glanced at her briefly before turning his attention back out the window. Chloe was laughing at something Lucifer had said. "I'm not angry. I mean I am, I just…" He sighed.

"He did something to hurt you." Ella whispered. "I get it. I have brothers that do all kinds of things that hurt me all the time but I still love them."

Michael looked at her confused. "You don't get angry?"

"Hell yeah I get angry." Ella laughed. "But they are my brothers, you know."

"I don't think your situation is quite the same."

Ella shrugged. "Not likely, but it is clear that you still care for him and maybe have even come to care for Chloe."

Michael stared at her in awe. "How can you be so insightful?"

The scientist chuckled. "I just am." She sobered up a bit. "Look, all I know of yall's history is what is written in the Book, which in all honesty really isn't that much all things considered."

"Even that is not completely right." Michael grumbled going back to watching his twin and the detective.

"I'd believe it." Ella placed a hand on his arm grabbing his attention back. "What I'm trying to say, is that, sometimes hanging onto the hurt and the anger can cause much more damage than simply choosing to forgive."

"What if I can't forgive him?" Michael asked honestly.

"That's up to you. I don't know what happened but if Lucifer is willing to try, why can't you?"

Michael thought a moment looking back at the crime scene photos spread out on the table. Could he ever forgive Lucifer? Did he want to? He has spent so long being angry, would he know how to stop? Michael looked back up to find Lucifer and Chloe both watching him. A tense smile made its way to Lucifer's face while Chloe sent a gentle wave. Despite himself, he waved awkwardly back.

"Seriously, go sit with them. They have been checking on you as much as you have been checking on them." Ella smiled at him knowingly nodding her head in the direction of the door.

Michael sighed and stood giving in. He had just placed a hand on the doorknob when Ella spoke again.

"Michael." She waited until he looked at her to continue. "Sometimes our greatest pain comes from the people we love the most."

And if that didn't hit the nail on the head, Michael didn't know what would.
