A final bit of misinformation is cleared up.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
"What's up guys?" Ella called as she stepped off the elevator carrying two arm loads of bags. Judging by the smell, she had brought tons of Chinese with her.
"Geez, Ella." Chloe ran to help her with the bags to which Ella handed them over gratefully. "This is way too much food for four people."
"Correction, Detective." Lucifer stepped down the steps from the bedroom with a smile. "Two humans, a Devil, and a currently healing archangel, this will be gone before the hour is out."
Chloe stared at him. Lucifer had been in such a good mood since they had woken this morning; he was almost shining. "There is no way. You don't even eat that much."
"I eat more than you think I do, Detective." Lucifer was already digging through the bags setting cartons out on the bar obviously looking for a particular one. "Celestial metabolism and all that. I just don't typically eat full meals."
All those times she's caught him snacking on ranch puffs and various other foods around the precinct suddenly made sense. She knew he ate of course; the Devil could whip up a meal that a saint would kill for when he wanted, not to mention his own version of a Devils Food Cake, like, damn.
"Plus, there is Michael, who is currently healing a broken wing. That takes energy, Detective, and a lot of it."
"And I can put away some Chinese, just saying." Ella pitched in also going through bags and setting stuff out. She paused a minute and looked around the penthouse. "Where is Michael?"
"I'm here." Michael said stepping down the stairs and making his way toward them. "It smells good."
They had been able to convince him to change into a pair of Lucifer's pajama pants just a few minutes before Ella arrived. Since he wasn't going anywhere for at least a week, there was no need for him not to be comfortable. Chloe's mouth went dry seeing him even with the bandages covering most of his torso. Ella had ended up cutting his shirt off last night so he wouldn't be stuck in the same shirt but now he couldn't even get one on. He didn't appear uncomfortable though, but did move stiffly on his left side. His wings framed him like a black feathery canvas.
Michael not being able to put his wings away made Chloe glad that he had been brought to Lux instead of somewhere else; otherwise he wouldn't have been able to move too well. Even folded, his wings took up a lot of space. They arched above his head, curled around his sides, and still the primary feathers touched the floor. Just watching him move around this morning had Chloe understanding why they would keep them furled away all the time, even without the worry of humans seeing them.
Lucifer snatched a carton and some chopsticks handing them Michael. "Try this."
Michael took both offerings with a deep inhale and hummed. "Father, I am starving." He quickly opened the carton.
"Let me look at those bandages before we get distracted by food." Ella hurriedly moved toward him only to receive a poke on the nose with chopsticks. "Hey."
"Food first tiny one." Michael stated taking those same chopsticks and grabbing some of the noodles from within the carton. "Then you can poke at me all you want."
Michael ignored Ella's grumbling at him calling her 'tiny one' and took his first bite. His eyes closed and he moaned. There was no stopping it. His stomach had been gurgling at him since he woke up and this was so damn good.
Lucifer beamed with pride even as he grabbed his own carton of food.
Chloe flushed and quickly turned to fish out her own food from the various options Lucifer had ordered in for them. Images of the three of them had been plaguing her since overhearing their talk last night. Michael had not been touched much and was so green in the area of the bedroom. Would he be ultra-sensitive and reactive? What sounds could she and Lucifer drag out of him? Since when did she become so damn sex hungry?
Lucifer leaned over her reaching for another carton having finished off his first one already. He really did eat more than she thought, didn't he?
"You okay, Detective? You look a little flushed." He whispered in her ear.
Chloe bit her lip and resisted the moan that wanted to rise from her throat. She glanced at Lucifer to find him watching her with a knowing gleam and smirk. Like hell he couldn't sense her desires, but Lucifer didn't lie so, was she just that obvious? God, she hoped not.
"Just fine, Lucifer."
Lucifer chuckled while giving her neck a soft kiss. "Talk first." He whispered again before placing another soft kiss just behind her ear.
Chloe hummed under her breath. "Talk first." She agreed. They would have to so boundaries could be put in place. As much as they may want to jump into things, Chloe knew they would need to take things slow. Trust had to be built back. Plus, it probably wouldn't hurt to let Michael's wing heal up first.
"You know, I could look at them while you eat." Ella suggested chewing on an egg role. She stepped close to Michael again with the intent of doing just that only to have his good wing push her back a couple steps before folding again. "Come on, dude." She was getting exasperated with him.
Michael was smirking as he shoveled rice into his mouth his eyes alight with mischief where Ella couldn't see. He was playing with her and enjoying it immensely. Ella tried again only to have the same thing happen. This time; however, he gave her a gentle bop on the head with it before it folded. Ella grumbled but gave up snatching another egg roll.
Lucifer chuckled. "He'll let her in a minute. He was serious about food being first."
"Evidently." Chloe watched with a smile as he used that same wing to block Ella and stole one of her egg rolls.
"Get your own egg rolls you oversized chicken." Ella snapped playfully with a laugh.
"Chicken?!" Michael's gasped in mock offense. "Well, if you're going to be that way…" Michael grabbed up what was left of the egg rolls and held them high above Ella's head.
"Hey! Give those back!" Ella jumped for them but couldn't reach.
"Nope." Michael stated with a smile searching through the cartons with his other hand.
Lucifer had not been kidding when he said Michael would inhale most of the food. It also appeared to be helping his mood now that he had food in his stomach. Apparently, even angels got hangry.
"Is it normal for you guys to eat so much?" Chloe asked Lucifer between bites still watching Michael and Ella play around. He relented and gave her back her egg rolls.
"Our metabolism is quite high so most of what we take in is burned off pretty quickly." Lucifer answered her. "Michael's appetite will taper off as he heals, but yes we do eat more than you typical humans. I've learnt that snacking doesn't get quite so many stares."
"Do you have to eat when your, well, in Hell?"
Lucifer shook his head. "No. Hell and the Silver City work much differently than Earth, thankfully. Imagine wanting to eat but only tasting ash." Chloe cringed. "Exactly, so no we are not required to eat in Hell. You can eat in the Silver City as well but once again not required to." He reached behind her to snag a fortune cookie. "Earth has different rules." Lucifer broke into the fortune cookie briefly reading the fortune before nibbling on the cookie.
"Get a good one?" Chloe asked.
Lucifer shrugged and didn't answer.
"So you guys have to eat when here?" Ella asked having listened in after receiving her eggrolls back.
"After a time, yes." Michael answered. "It takes time for our bodies to adjust to being down here. If it was just a quick flight down for a couple days then it wouldn't affect us. If we stay down here though, we have to follow Earth's rules pretty much like everyone else."
"Except for the invulnerability and having powers part." Ella pointed out.
Michael nodded finishing off his most recent carton. "Except that."
"Is that why most of you guys stay upstairs?" Chloe asked.
"Being down here gets uncomfortable yes. The having to eat, and the results of that, plus having to shower and maintain hygiene, it's tiresome, honestly." Michael grumbled.
"You sound as though you've never been to Hell." Lucifer snarked.
Chloe and Ella tensed. No, they didn't need to do this. They had been doing so well.
Michael slowly rested his chopsticks on the bar his appetite having vanished. "I haven't. I wasn't allowed." His voice had taken on a somber quality.
"What does that mean?" Lucifer looked quickly to Chloe.
Chloe internally sighed but nodded to let Lucifer know Michael wasn't lying. Yes, talking definitely needed to happen.
Michael sighed shifting so he could sit on one of the stools. "Did you not ever wonder why Amenadiel was always the one to send you back down?"
"No, not really." Lucifer shrugged. "Just figured it was because he was the eldest."
"Everyone else figured that I would be your warden since, well, I'm the one that essentially banished you."
Ella gasped looked between the two with a shocked expression. "That's right." She whispered. "But I thought God ordered it."
Michael shook his head. "Father ordered Lucifer to be punished. He initially wanted Lucifer destroyed." Michael refused to look at any of them. He stared down at the bar top as his hands played with the chopsticks he had been using.
"Destroyed!?" Chloe felt her heart race. She and Ella both looked at each other with wide eyes. No way.
Lucifer didn't show any emotion. "Yes, Mother told me. She said She got Him to change His mind."
"I'm the one that went to Mother. We both went to Father." Michael corrected still staring at the bar.
Lucifer narrowed his eyes. "But you hated me then."
Michael shook his head. "Not enough to want you destroyed. I've never wanted you destroyed." He ran a hand through his hair. "I told Father everything and I mean everything." Michael finally turned to give Lucifer a significant look.
Chloe felt her heart skip a beat. Had Michael told their Father of their actions? Had he included his feelings as well?
"I was given the choice, to let you be destroyed, or to banish you."
Chloe felt like crying all over again. Ella didn't look much better. Why? It made no sense to her. Parents are supposed to love their children, right? Not throw them into Hell or make them choose banishment over their brothers life. She turned to find Lucifer staring at Michael as though he had never seen him before.
"Why would He do that?" Ella asked in hurt and anger for them.
Michael scoffed. "Why does Father do anything? Because He can."
"You chose to have me banished to Hell?" Lucifer asked voice flat obviously trying to hold his emotions under check.
"Father never mentioned Hell to me." Michael stated quickly and urgently looking earnestly at Lucifer. "I swear. I didn't know that was what He planned until the gate opened and you were being pulled down."
"He was pulled down?" Ella looked confused.
Michael nodded. "Hell was literally a pit then. The gates served to keep things from getting pulled in at that time. It was nothing like what Lucifer has made it from what I've heard."
"I grabbed for you and you let me go." Lucifer growled, hands clenched at this sides.
Michael looked back up to Lucifer with wide eyes. "You think I let you go willingly? I had no choice."
Lucifer sneered. "You were given the choice to banish me so you had the choice to let me go or not."
"I literally had no choice!"
Michael stood stepping toward Lucifer who growled at him. Michael paused but never took his eyes from Lucifer. His eyes were desperate as though pleading his brother to believe him.
"I grabbed you at the same time you grabbed me. I tried holding you back but the pull was already too strong and I was going to be pulled with you. So be it. I was going to let it, but the others swarmed me. They held onto me and pulled me back but even they were not strong enough to pull you out of Hell's vacuum and I refused to let you go."
Michael stepped closer to Lucifer who was staring at him now as if he was afraid to hear what came out of Michael's mouth next. Chloe and Ella stood in much the same condition. Chloe didn't dare to breathe.
A tear rolled down Michael's cheek. "My shoulder popped before I felt the muscles tear. The nerves went next."
Chloe gasped feeling tears begin to burn her eyes. Ella looked in much the same state, hands over her mouth.
"My mind kept screaming 'don't let go' but there was no communication to my hand. I couldn't…" Michael wrapped his arms around himself, his left arm cradled in his right, looking away from Lucifer as though ashamed.
Lucifer looked to Chloe with earnest, wet eyes the question clear. Chloe felt like she couldn't breathe. She wanted to make it all go away even though she couldn't. She could give him this though. Michael wasn't lying. Every painful word was true.
A tear fell from Lucifer's eyes as he turned back to his twin. "Your shoulder?"
Michael nodded shifting his left shoulder. "I never let it heal properly. It still gives me trouble so I try not to fight with it often. I can use it but not for very long."
That was why he walked the way he did. His left side had been injured trying to save his brother. Michael said he didn't allow it to heal. Could it still heal even after all this time?
"I was hurting but I wasn't allowed to. The others didn't even recognize that I was hurt. I became angry. The only thing that had meant anything to me had been ripped away and it was my own damn fault. I hated myself so made the others hate me as well. I was angry at Mother for taking me to Father in the first place. I started lying to protect myself considering the truth didn't help. No one wanted the truth."
Michael was trembling by this point. His voice cracked in places in a clear attempt not to cry. Ella made to go to Michael but Chloe stopped her as she noticed Lucifer move at the same time. Let Lucifer do it, her eyes told Ella. Ella stopped and nodded in understanding.
Lucifer slowly reached out his hands to rest on Michael's biceps, almost as though he was afraid to touch his brother. Michael startled slightly looking up at Lucifer. Both twins were crying openly by this point. Lucifer moved a hand to Michael's cheek and gently wiped a tear away before it fell.
"I forgive you." Lucifer whispered. More tears fell down Michael's face. "I forgive you, Mike."
Michael clung to Lucifer and cried. Lucifer held him tightly, being careful not to hit his wing, allowed his own wings to unfurl, and wrapped them gently around his brother.
Chloe looked at Ella and motioned toward the elevator. The twins needed a moment to themselves. Ella nodded shakily wiping her tears. Chloe watched the brothers as they waited for the elevator doors to close. They were so focused on each other, she wasn't sure they even realized her and Ella were leaving.

Chloe and Ella stayed down in the nightclub. They sat at one of the tables silently as the employees worked around them getting ready for opening. Cleaners and stockers came and went. Patrick had offered them each a drink to which both agreed.
"Rough day already, huh?" He asked bringing back their favorites.
Chloe wondered if he didn't have them on a list with their drinks listed by each name. Or maybe he was just that good considering Lucifer had kept him this long.
"Something like that." Chloe muttered but thanked him before he left.
Patrick waved them off. "Boss would have my paycheck, and my head, if I didn't take care of you two."
Chloe figured he was most likely right so didn't say anything.
She had thought Lucifer had scars, and rightly so, but Michael had been chopped, diced, filleted, and who knows what else. They both had.
Okay, so technically, yes, being with each other wasn't the smartest thing but from what she had gathered it was almost like a natural progression for them. Lucifer said they were always finding reasons to touch one another and she had seen that especially from Michael. Every chance he had gotten recently he was touching Lucifer disguised as little swats or smacks. When they were fixing Michael's wing, she could read the want, the need, to touch Michael, all over Lucifer's body language. Chloe had even noticed Michael relax into Lucifer's touch twice now; once after Lucifer was shot and again when Lucifer started stroking his good wing in comfort. They clung to each other just before she and Ella had left like they were finally letting go of some hard willed restraint.
"That is some Old Testament shit." Ella mumbled.
"What?" Chloe looked at Ella confused.
"Old and New Testament? Come on, Chloe."
"Yeah, I've heard of them." Chloe shrugged. "I was Atheist before all of this, Ella."
"Right." Ella sighed waving a hand. "I sometimes forget all this hasn't been normal until recently. Let's just say there is a reason the two are separate."
"How are you doing with all of this, Ella?" Chloe couldn't believe she had never thought to ask. What kind of friend did that make her?
"Me? Oh I'm good." Ella smiled. "Took the truth better than Dan did anyway, poor guy. I always felt the Devil had a bad rap so to learn that I was right; makes me feel pretty good."
"And everything recently?"
Ella lost her smile. "Ah, not so Bueno." She slumped in her seat. "I thought I had finally gotten it right, you know? Guess all I'm good for is attracting the jerks, and let us not forget serial killers." She added bitterly and hurt.
Chloe reached across the table to hold Ella's hand in support. "I don't know if this will help, but I was engaged to the World's First Murderer."
Ella blinked at her a couple times before she groaned. "That's right." She slouched down in her chair. "Why must our dating lives be so jodido?"
Chloe wished she knew the answer to that herself.
"I'm taking the week off. Why don't you take some time off as well?" Maybe they all needed some good old fashioned R&R.
Ella shook her head. "Not sure how I would do with nothing to do, Chlo. I need to keep my mind focused."
Chloe could tell Ella was not going to cave no matter what she said. "Okay, then promise me you will at least come hang out."
"I don't want to interfere with you three." Ella sat up quickly. "I'm not blind; I can see the tension between you guys. Besides, I'm sure you are only taking the time off to help with those two." Ella smiled softly. "Honestly, Chloe, I'm fine."
Chloe sighed trying to come up with something. She knew Ella and Michael were bonding and wanted to encourage it. Michael could use all the friendly faces he could get right now and Ella could use someone to help take her mind of things. She didn't want to encourage too much though. What was she getting all possessive for? Michael hadn't even agreed to anything yet and besides, Ella reminded him of his sister.
"Movie night then."
"Chloe…"
"Look, those two have probably had as much serious discussion as they can handle for the day." Chloe knew she didn't want to discuss anything harder than what the weather was like. They needed some down time. "Stay, hangout, and watch movies with us. I'm going to insist that's all we do anyway, and Lucifer did mention getting Michael caught up on all the classics."
Ella perked up a bit. "Which ones?"
Chloe smiled. "I'm sure 'The Shining' will be included." Chloe remembered the reference Lucifer had made during the last case with the kid on the tricycle. There was no doubt he would be putting Michael through that one.
"Classic horror?" Ella looked very excited now. "How can I say no to that? I am hella in."
"Did you ladies happen to leave your phones up top?" Patrick asked walking over to them.
Both girls quickly checked their pockets. "Shoot." Chloe grumbled at the same time as Ella's "Mierda."
Patrick chuckled. "Boss called down. You two are welcome back up."
Chloe and Ella smiled and thanked Patrick before making their way to the elevator.

Lucifer held onto Michael as though afraid he might disappear in vise versa. He ran his hands down over Michael's arms and back up in soothing strokes. His left wing rubbed gently over his twins right one their feathers tangling lightly while the other just cupped around the broken one in a gentle hold. Lucifer shivered a bit when Michael answered the rub, that black wing pressing up into the white.
It took a few minutes but Michael eventually relaxed his hold on Lucifer's purple shirt. The Devil had yet to get around to putting his jacket or vest on that morning. His hands started the same motions on Lucifer's arms that Lucifer had started. His face stayed buried in his twins neck as he breathed deeply trying to calm.
Lucifer started rubbing his cheek against Michael's hair and neck eventually moving to press against his cheek. Michael grumbled but returned the motion. Their hands grabbed the others in a tight grip, palms touching, as they stepped as close as they could. Noses and foreheads rubbed as they switched sides. Neither of them stopped until each was well coated in the others comforting scent.
Hands roamed again until the found their way to wings, not grooming, but gentle pets and soft touches. Their eyes were closed as their foreheads once again pressed together and they breathed each other in. Gentle kisses were shared, more brushes of lips than actual kisses. They were relearning each other, their feel, their smell, their touch. There was only one thing missing.
Lucifer stepped back first, blinking his brown eyes open as Michael did the same. Michael's brown were rimmed red from releasing the pain and hurt he had held onto for so long. Not wanting to separate from Michael just yet, Lucifer turned still keeping his wings around his brother, to look over his shoulder to find the girls had gone. Narrowing his eyes in confusion, he turned further moving his right wing around so he could look around. His left wing stayed tangled with Michael's right.
"Detective?"
"They must have left to give us space." Michael said quietly gently untangling his wing from Lucifer's so not to pull on the feathers.
Lucifer turned back to Michael trying to ignore the sudden space he felt in his chest. He had wanted to include the Detective in their little cuddle fest but it appeared it wasn't going to happen. Not at that time. Michael had moved away to sit at the piano effectively breaking the moment.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Ella went to Michael first thing when the elevator doors opened. "Okay, I'm looking at that wing." She said determinedly. They had agreed on the way up to take their cue from the twins. They had separated and both looked as relaxed as they could pull off at the moment. Playing the nothing happened card. Noted.
Michael smiled softly from the piano bench. "Okay, okay, have at it." His eyes looked red but they were dry and bright.
Chloe moved to Lucifer who was leaning against the bar with drink in hand. His wings had been furled away. "You two okay?"
Lucifer nodded. "We will be at any rate." He looked at her with his eyes shining with appreciation. "Thank you, Detective."
Chloe smiled leaning into him. Oh my. She closed her eyes to enjoy what her nose was picking up. Not only could she smell Lucifer, rich and dark, but Michael's warm musk was heavily added. Chloe had wondered what the two of them would smell like together and now she knew. She also knew that she wanted to bury herself in that smell. Heat settled between her legs as images of the three of them appeared bright and clear at the forefront of her mind.
She reluctantly pulled away with a small shake. Now was not the time. Down, Decker. Focus.
"What did you two do to get him relaxed like that?" She asked quietly. For some reason she did not want Ella to over hear them.
"Jealous?" Lucifer smirked down at her, his reply just as soft and quiet.
Chloe looked up at him with an eyebrow quirked.
"Nothing like what you are thinking I am sure." Lucifer drank from his glass glancing over to where Ella was carefully adjusting and checking bandages.
"And you know what I'm thinking?" Chloe teased even though her stomach felt jittery at what he was implying.
Lucifer looked down at her suddenly unsure. "Just some kissing, Detective, and some wing petting. Nothing covert I promise."
Chloe watched him a minute noting his nervous look. She smiled warmly. "So, I guess kissing is on the table then?"
"Do you want it to be?" Lucifer asked watching her carefully almost as though he couldn't quite believe that she was being so calm about things.
Did she? She thought back to how Michael had kissed her the first time. It had felt more like a goodbye kiss at the time and Chloe didn't feel satisfied with it. She knew the twins had kissed last night and part of her loved the image it presented but there was also a part of her that was nervous.
The brothers had history with each other and the love was clearly there between them whether they knew and admitted to it or not. If they continued with this, where would she stand? It was a logical question and yet she couldn't bring herself to make Lucifer make that choice.
Not to mention she was interested in Michael as well. Michael had shown that he was also interested in her and wasn't just here for Lucifer. Slowly; they needed to go slowly. But kissing was okay, right? They had all already kissed each other and nothing has exploded so far. Did they really need to step back from that?
"Kissing is okay with me." Chloe said softly making sure to look Lucifer in the eye so he could tell she wasn't nervous or just saying it to appease him. She wasn't. She wanted to kiss Michael again without the lingering feeling of goodbye. She wanted to taste each of them deeply.
Lucifer smiled warmly and Chloe knew she was making the right choice. He leaned down to give her a gentle kiss which she returned. Once they parted, Chloe noticed Michael watching them. She smiled at him but was unsure if she wanted Ella to be aware of just how tense things were between the three of them right now. Michael returned the smile his eyes staying warm and inviting.
"So, I was thinking we could watch movies for the rest of the day." Chloe looked back to Lucifer so get his thoughts.
"The whole day?" Lucifer looked like he wanted to protest. Chloe knew he wanted to have their talk, she did too, but it honestly just wasn't in her to hash that out right now.
"Yeah. We all could use some down time, don't you think?" Chloe nudged him. "Besides, didn't you mention you wanted to introduce Michael to some classics?"
That perked him up. "I did, didn't I?"
Michael groaned from beside the piano. "Really?"
"Come on, dude." Ella nudged him with a warm smile. "You can't beat the classics."
Michael sighed looking at them each in turn noting their eager faces. "Okay, fine, if I'm going to be outnumbered. I don't really feel like sitting on a piano bench all day though."
Chloe had not thought of that. With his wings out Michael couldn't exactly sit on the couches or chairs.
"Not to worry." Lucifer piped up already going into motion. "Nothing that moving a bit of furniture won't fix."
Chloe was confused at first. How would moving the furniture help with giving Michael a more comfortable place to sit? It didn't take long for Lucifer to have all the sitting furniture moved back and well away from the entertainment area.
Damn, watching him move all of it by himself really worked for her. Maybe she should raincheck the whole movie marathon, kick Ella out, and… no. Stop that. Bad idea. Slowly.
Next thing she knew the whole damn mattress was being moved from the bed to the sitting area, bedding and all.
"Damn, dude, couldn't you have just moved the TV?" Ella asked staring around at the new arrangements.
Lucifer shook his head. "There is no good place to move the TV to the bedroom. Besides, this wasn't so hard to do."
Michael was shaking his head in fond annoyance. "He's showing off. Blasted peacock."
Ella giggled and even Chloe couldn't stop her own little chuckle. Lucifer huffed and puffed himself up. If his wings were out Chloe knew they would be puffed out to. She smiled at the image.
"I was trying to be nice." Lucifer grumbled. "But if you are going to be like that you can just sit on your little piano bench and like it." He moved into the bedroom undoubtedly to grab more blankets and pillows.
Michael made his own huff like noise and promptly made himself comfortable on the mattress; facing the TV while lying on his stomach wrapping a pillow in his arms and resting his head on it. Lucifer came back out arms full of blankets and pillows as predicted. He dropped them on the mattress before turning an annoyed look toward Michael.
"You are being a prat. Off."
"Nope." Michael replied simply not even looking at his brother.
Lucifer tossed a pillow at him which thankfully didn't seem to hurt him as it landed on his wings. Michael grumbled but was able to shift his right wing enough to get the pillow off, which he then threw back at Lucifer.
"Alright, boys, let's behave." Chloe admonished.
"He started it." They chorused, both with grins telling they knew exactly what they were doing.
Chloe pinched the bridge of her nose. Ella was laughing as she made her way to claim a spot on the mattress as Lucifer started going through his movie collection. What was she doing? There was no way she was actually thinking of taking on both of them, was she? Well, one thing was for sure, she would never be able to claim it was boring.
