Chapter Nine

It had been four months, four months since anybody at camp half-blood had seen the famous six demigods. Many people speculated about the peace being brought, and wondered where their leaders and best had gone, but a more pressing matter was certain.

There had been more demigods showing up to camp safely, to all the camps. Greek, roman, and the hunter's camp, even if they move. It was brought to the gods' attention, as the hunters kept on getting tracked down. At some point, the Hunters were tasked of finding the person who kept finding these demigods.

The demigods all said the same thing, the person who saved them from their home, whether it be terrible or just plain evil, would watch as they brutally handled each situation and saved the child. Currently, the person of unknown origins was taking a small girl towards the hunters of Artemis.

(3rd person POV)

"How much farther, my legs are tirreeed." Said the small girl. She had bright blonde curly hair and an adorable smile, but was currently pouting about their situation.

"Not much farther now, Christine. Actually, come here." The mysterious man stopped, and lifted the girl over his shoulders. He was around 5' 8", and was wearing a black cloak that billowed in the wind. It covered most of his sleeves but showed the remnants of a tattoo on his right arm.

"Woah! Look at that!" said the little girl, Christine. The girl could see remnants of a fire in the woods farther away.

As the mysterious man walked, he immediately dropped the girl off his shoulders gracefully and put her on the ground. The sounds of clashing and roaring could be heard in the distance.

"Christine, listen carefully, and close. No games." Said the man, the little girl only nodded.

"Now, I'm going to teleport you to a cave very close by, do not move. There is food and water there now, I will grab you in a moment. It will feel weird so be careful, but stay quiet."

The girl nodded in response, and felt a whirring in her stomach before she opened her eyes and saw candle lit floor of a cave with food and water, as promised.

The mysterious man, watched as the warping shadow dispersed, and disappeared.

Less disappeared, and moved at a rate in the shadows no man should be able to move. He hopped from tree to tree, running across branches and blending into the shadows. He finally reached the clearing in record time, and the sight wasn't pretty.

The monsters had invaded the Hunts camp, apparently in the middle of the night. The semblances of smoke burned through the camp, and monsters roared very proudly.

The hunters themselves were in terrible shape. Many of the hunt were injured and being protected by a tight circle of hunters, while the ones farther away were only noticed by their screams. Many a hunter was falling, and their tightly knit team around the wounded were falling fast.

Only two hunters were fighting and succeeding in this.

One of them was a blur of silver, gliding along the monsters with grace and power matched by no other. Her afterimage was gilded with gold dust, and the gap in her wake was immense, but not enough. Artemis herself was fighting and destroying things in her wake.

The other was somewhere between the hunters and the trail of the goddess was the lieutenant of the hunt, Thalia Grace. She was fighting like a demon with her spear and shield, Aegis. She had wreathed herself in lightning, and fought around her fellow sisters. She fought stabbing and slicing major circles, anything her spear touched zapped to a crisp and arced to any nearby monsters, exploding in gold dust. She however, couldn't keep this up forever. After a few swings and explosions of dust, she stopped and took a breath.

As she was watching the battlefield around her, she saw the tight circle of hunters, and heard the scream of another. She looked down and saw the lifeless body of one of her sisters, mangled and destroyed, as her face was stuck in an endless scream with blood pouring out of the side of her head. The shock that hit her face was visible for all of the gods to read very quickly, loss.

As she was shell-shocked, a stray hellhound leaped towards her, and got three claws to stick into her arm. Thalia shook off the hellhound and stabbed it through the neck, a slight whimper before bursting into dust.

Thalia's rage at this could not be held, and she screamed as three massive lightning bolts crashed down in the center of the monster army, incinerating hundreds of monsters with each bolt.

She sighed and stumbled, taking deep breaths trying to restore a bit of her stamina, much wasted on the thousands of monsters in her sights. Hundreds of hellhounds, dracaena (human like vampires with snake legs) and ice giants, along with some more noticeable monsters, like the Minotaur.

Her legs wobbled at the sight, losing all hope for the survival of her sisters, her face fell and her eyes closed.

"Rage is good for those who've fallen, but you've only lost stamina Ms. Grace," whispered a voice in her ear.

She immediately whirled around, looking for the voice's origin. She saw the remnants of a shadow right next to her.

In the distance however, the mysterious man was walking towards the front of the army. He pulled his sleeves up and thrust his hand outward.

A massive battle axe filled the space between his fingers and palm. This axe was too big for a man or even demigod of Thalia's memory to ever wield one handed. She watched as he hefted this axe, and cut many a monster in half.

She prompted to fall face first in the dirt, with the memory of the man burned into her memory as she drifted into the realm of Morpheus.

(line break: Go get a drink, you will enjoy this)

The world was slowly coming into vision as Thalia blinked the blurriness away.

Shadows were wisping around her arm, where the claws had torn almost to the bone barely visible, as it seemed the shadows were healing her.

She looked up to the man who had propped her up on a rock, and saw it was the same man who had arrived before she passed out.

Thalia immediately turned towards where her hunters were, all of them with shadows whisping off of their wounds, and all of them propped up against some ruins of the camp. A little girl was with the man as well, waving promptly to her in close proximity.

She immediately noticed the wounds on the man. His cloak was in tatters, wisps of shadows floating off of it. His face was holding one of determination and someone who is about to pass out. He stood on shaky legs and offered a hand to Thalia.

Thalia wearily took his hand, and stood on wobbly feet. She noticed another hunter who was awake, but was staring down, obviously zoned out.

At this moment an arrow of silver passed Thalia's head and nearly hit the man, but it was absorbed into a shadow in his hand. He sighed as he saw the patron goddess rushing him. He nearly passed out on the spot from using his powers, but promptly was absorbed in a ball that seemed to have negative light, with one thought on his mind.

I recognize that signature.

Thalia immediately turned and saw Artemis fuming and rushing towards Thalia, "Thalia, what did that boy do to you?"

"I believe he healed me, milady, but ask Amanda, it seems she never passed out."

The duo immediately stepped towards Amanda, the demigod in question looked up and said one thing. "How does he have so much power?"

"What do you mean Amanda?" asked Thalia.

"He wiped out that army, by himself. It was as if the night had turned into an army and slaughtered them all." Stated the girl, to the shocked children of Zeus.

(Another line break, I know)

The six had been traveling, currently in Kansas camping in the woods. CJ had taken a step away from camp with the rest of the guys, and walked to a creek to practice his powers. He seemed to have an affinity for fire, out of Hestia's blessing.

He sat on a log, deep in thought, twirling some water and fire in his hands to create a beautiful spire in his hands.

As he sat, he heard a whoosh behind him and immediately turned, hand on his pendant.

He turned and saw a body fall to the floor. He immediately ran forward and turned the body onto their back.

It was the mysterious man, with blood flowing from multiple wounds on his body, but CJ was shocked with who this person was.

The man's hood had fallen down, and recognition was written all over CJ's face. He spoke one word.

"Ethan?"
