Chapter 5

Question:

From: Guest - :"Our closest fleet is a day's journey from the base of the attacking fleet, the next one is 1.5 days. Both have over 100 ships, including 2 battleships. Now it's your turn." - said the Primarch."

"And what species is humanity?"

"Contradictory."

"Everyone talks and prefers peace, but when you have to go to wars, we do it in the most destructive way imaginable. Before reunification, at the height of the Cold War, we were able to destroy our planet 50 times. Fortunately, we came to our senses in time. This mentality has been preserved in our philosophy. 'You want peace, get ready for war'." - Kodai said.

This must be the fanfic with the dumbest dialogues I've ever read.

Answer: Possible, but next time please rewrite the entire passage so as not to confuse the readers (You missed a whole line of text and a few phrases!)

Question:

From: stylo1

why would any nation use mass relays to open a highway straight to the hard

of their civilisation instead of reverse enginering ftl which would just

take a little longer. which doesnt matter because they have terraforming

tech lying around aswell so there is little pressing need to spread out.

if this isnt forcing the first contact plot i dont know what is

Answer: The crashed spaceship was heavily damaged (as is the case with crashed spaceships). Terraforming does not mean that all the materials will be there. In the Starblazers(Yamato 2199) series/anime, they were given a wave motor drive (power to destroy planets and the ability to fight 1000 vs 1) and FTL plans from Iskandar. Besides, such propulsion will give the military a huge advantage over any other army that is forced to use MassEffect - which would mean they would lose their strategic advantage. There are other reasons as well, such as according to my calculations the Warp drive is slower than MassEffect - many different sources of information.

Question:

From: stylo1 - and no "cole protocol" which ofc means all their tech is now in the hands of the turians. combine this with some bad english and very odd

formatting, im gonna stop reading here. Gl

Answer:In days you will not figure out a completely different technology (citadel races are dependent on MassEffect technology), plus High Pressure Laser Cannon weapons are literally GARDIAN lasers with a greater range (several times greater, but that's a detail) and are the basic SDF weapon. Shock Cannons are much more powerful and have a much longer range compared to a High Pressure Laser Cannon(also take much more energy to shoot), but still lower if compare with MassEffect guns.

Question:

From: Guest

:human do eat dextro aminoacids

Answer:
Yes, but this is not our main food source. (I could be wrong. As someone knows exactly, write in the comments.)

And that's, a long introduction. Now, let's go to the story.

Chapter 5

= place: Shanxi, night =

"You have to attack where he is not prepared to defend himself; appear where he cannot think of." - said the commander.

"What?" - asked confused marine.

"It was Sun Tsu." - another Marine said.

"You're right Robert, it was Sun Tsu." - said the commander.

"Sigh ... I didn't ask for 'The art of war.' just to answer why we're in shitty sewage." - the marine said again.

"I told you before, Lee. We are to go through the sewers and attack their supply depots." - said the commander again.

"Can I ask another question, Commander?" - another Marine said.

"You can ask, John." - said the commander.

"Who designed this city? It is like one big fort or bunker. Additionally, he considered sewage to be a good way of supplying or guerrilla actions. This is very strange." - John said.

"Two guys, a Pole and a Swiss. The Pole decided that if someone attacked the city, then, how during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 they would use sewage as a source of communication, the possibility of evacuation and supply if the city was divided into sections, like now, and for guerrilla actions behind the enemy's line. And the Swiss decided that the city must be made so that any commander would consider it too expensive to attack on the ground, and made a giant shelter if someone thought of using a nuke or orbital bombardment. Supposedly, at the beginning of the 21th century Swiss had shelters capable of accommodating more then entire population of their country, and whoever did not have their shelter under the house had to pay an additional tax." - said the commander.

"For a neutral country, they certainly didn't spare defense." - Lee said in amazement.

"We are 2 minutes to our destination." - the marine in the front said.

"Hush from now on, remember the plan and don't get killed." - said the commander.

"Yes, sir." - they said in a low voice.

After two minutes, they reached their destination. Then they came out of the sewage and began checking the building. Although they crashed the SDF fleet and took the first line of defense, they didn't rest. They had guards posted to guard the tanks. Marines counted 6 guards on the spot. The next stage of the plan is to start in 1 minute. It was the longest minute in the life of these Marines, most of whom were newbies who saw real combat for the first time. It wasn't some pirate gang, but a real army.

Time to start the action:
1.59 – 56s
1.59 – 57s
1.59 – 58s
1.59 – 59s
2.00 – 00s

"Shoot those birds!" - the commander shouted, and the entire 10-man squad started firing from their energy rifles. The guards fell immediately. Shots were heard from a distance, each unit sent to attack had just begun operations.

"Second phase! Disperse! Everyone knows what to do!" - the commander ordered and the separation dispersed. According to the plan, they were to split into pairs, plant the charges and flee to the base. Of course, they had little time before the reinforcements arrived, so some people had to be on the watch.

"Enemy reinforcements are coming!" - the marines shouted.

"Hold them for 2 more minutes and we're done!" - the commander shouted.

The first 4 turians were shot by the energy rifles of the marines, the rest, seeing the fate of their companions and how their shields didn't work, hid behind the first better cover, began to return fire. Marines got hit sometimes, but their barriers held up. So they remained in a stalemate until the commander's order was given. - "Everyone retreat, I repeat RETREAT!"

"You heard the commander, we're fucking out of here. NOW!" - the marine repeated.

"But I will leave this gift to them." - John said, throwing a grenade. Then he started to flee the ward to the sewage. After getting inside, everyone started to retreat towards the city center. Behind them, only a great * BOOM * was heard.

"Gentlemen, the task is over, it's time to go back to base and prepare for tomorrow. If all goes well, we'll have a victory party next week." - said the commander.

"I thought that only after we defeat the entire Hierarchy." - John said jokingly.

"If we destroy their fleet, they will cry and run straight to their base. There we'll find them with their pants down, we'll take the base and they'll ask us for a peace. And all in less than a week." - Robert said.

"And then interviews, how the heroic 1000 Marines conducted the most daring action in the history of this formation." - Lee said.

"It will be, puppies." - the commander finished.

The guerrilla action of many teams like them on the second night of the Shanxi siege gave a huge boost to morale for the defenders and a simultaneous decline for 'the most powerful army in the galaxy'.

= place: Citadel, private council chambers =

In private rooms, councilors of Tevos of the Asaria Republics, Valern of the Salarian Union, and Sparatus of the Turian Hierarchy discussed current topics. There was nothing special to discuss today. Quarians are still in their fleet, Volus want a place on the council, Elcores are slow as always, Hanar are preaching faith in Protheans, Drelles are with Hanaras, Yagh are still locked up on their planet, Batarians want more territory, mostly Attican Trawers, Krogans are still out they are hitting each other on Tuczanka, and the Vorcha are ... Vorcha. There is only one anomaly in all of this.

"Before we finish, there's one last thing to talk about." - Valern said.

"What is this, Valern? If this is another request to strengthen the Union-Travers border, then I have to refuse, we don't have ships for that." - Sparatus said.

"But you could have brought the entire fleet to an unknown location?" - Valern said sarcastically.

With a shock on her face, Tevos asked - "Sparatus, is that true?" Do you know what can happen if you leave an entire sector unprotected? Or how can the Terminus Systems feel about it if they learn about mobilization?"

"Relax, the fleet will be back soon." - Spartacus said.

"And where is it." - Valern said, not giving up.

"One of our patrol fleets discovered an active relay number 314. Behind it, she found a large pirate base. Currently, the 27th fleet is conducting disciplinary action." - Spartacus said.

Shocked councilors just stared at him.

"Sparatus. How. In the name of the Goddesses. Pirates have managed to set up a base BEHIND the relay!? No, wait. Better question? How did they manage to get past all the turian and STG patrols!?" - Tevos shouted, momentarily shedding her normally calm face.

"I don't know. The base was discovered shortly after the appointment of the new Macedonian commander. The former had to neglect his duties." - Sparatus said.

"It's hard for me to believe it. Besides, such information should be sent to us immediately, and mobilization of the fleet takes a while. You're hiding something." - Varen said.

Sparatus paused for a moment, then said bluntly - "The world of gardens is nearby, and the Hierarchy would like it for themselves."

"Sparatus." - Print out Tevos, staring at him with daggers in his eyes.

"What? Already taken. If you want to say something, say something, but this planet is already ours," - Spartacus said boldly.

"Tevos, it's too late. Besides, this system was near the Hegemony-Hierarchy border. If not the Hierarchy, the Hegemony would take it." - Valern said. Then add - "But still, Salarian Union is going to send a task force to checked id."

"The Asari Republics will do the same." - Tevos said, still in a bad mood.

"Consent. I'll want them ready in 2 weeks." - Sparatus said, then thought - "Not to do anything after this time."

= place: flagship of the 27th Turian fleet =

"How is it NOT possible?" - General Arterius, irritated, screamed.

"Almost half of our mechanized units are destroyed or damaged. We have no posibility to make armored attack on such scale." - explained the commander.

"You will get support from orbit. When humans hide from the attack you enter. Is it clear?!"

"This city is like one big maze and a fort rolled into one. People fortified themselves all over the city, even as we managed to cut off a few troops, only thing we did was to create a few mini-forts yesterday on the backs, from which that are constantly carrying out guerrilla attacks. Even when we enter with orbit support, they will qualify quickly for supply lines. Also, there is nothing eatable on the planet for us, and the current stocks are enough for a maximum of a week. This campaign is stuck and there is no way to resume the offensive. And unconditionally, human doesn,t diminish. They even grow. There are reports of volunteers fighting with gunpowder weapons. We have the population of the entire colony against us. If they had as many weapons as the colonists, probably everyone would grab them."

"6 frigates will go into the atmosphere and assist in the attack, the rest of the fleet will make massive orbit fire on these mini-forts until there is only a pile of debris left. These are your orders. EXECUTE!"

Then he hung up. It is true that a guerrilla attack by humans surprised them and destroyed many of their vehicles, but they still had an advantage in numbers and orbital support. They must at least take this colony before the Council notices that its fleet is attacking an unknown species. Victory or it will pay your head for this attack. If Spartacus had become the primarch, and not Fedorian, he would have probably received reinforcements. But Fedoria is not like that. Besides, he was informed about it, so he cannot accuse him of treason, and Spartacus still had high support in the army. Victory and he will be allowed to continue this campaign.

"Targets are set." - said the captain of the dreadnought.

"You can open fire." - Desolas replied calmly. And all the efficient guns in the fleet that were working and not being sent to the planet began firing. A total of 66 ships opened fire on which it eliminated all entrenched positions behind the front line. After them, the army stepped in and quickly took the rest. 2,500 SDF soldiers were captured in these mini-forts, killed or captured. Only 500 managed to escape through the sewers to the remaining SDF forces.

= place: SDF command-center on Shanxi =

"Damn those bird-heads." - General Williams cursed. Despite their well-fortified positions, they could not withstand fire from orbit. More and more people were dying by these frigates, which flew freely in the atmosphere, shelling its positions. Now or never. He had to pull an ace out of his sleeve, or the lines of defense would collapse.

"The Marines are supposed to strengthen the weak points in the line of defense. Put me in touch with a hidden airport. Let them lift whatever they have in the air. Our unfinished ships are also to help. We have no other options." - Williams said.

"I'm already connecting." - the communications officer said.

= place: Shanxi =

"Take cover." - the officer shouted. - "The fucking frigate is shooting at us."

After losing a large number of tanks and armored vehicles, the Truian army decided to bring some really big guns. After a heavy bombardment of SDF positions cut off behind enemy lines, it's time for the main line of defense.

"They are attacking us." - someone shouted - "They have armored support and frigate, we need reinforcements."

"High command says they will send 3 makos and a squad of marines. Apparently, in other places the enemy attacks with virtually no vehicles." - another soldier said.

"When will they be here?" - the officer asked.

"ETA 10 minutes. We have to hold on until then." - The soldier replied, then started firing. The turians attacked with armored vehicles ahead, and the infantry after them. If someone tried to lean out too much, he would get hit, from a heavy weapon. The frigate would occasionally shoot humans positions as soon as they tried to lean out too far. The defenders could not threaten the frigates in any way, so there just need to move forward.

Or so the turians thought.

Suddenly, SDF planes flew out and shelled the frigate with missiles. The barriers flashed but nothing serious happened to them, and the frigate's GARDIAN lasers shot down one of the fighters. A moment later, a real blow came. 3 unfinished Isokaze-class destroyers fired from their arsenal on a Turian ship. The combined firepower of the 3 destroyers smashed the frigate to pieces that fell onto the turian column. Moments later, mako and a squad of marines arrived. Together with the defenders, they launched a counterattack that pushed the turian away. But they had to return quickly so as not to be cut off. In the aftermath, fighters and Isokaze-class destroyers launched attacks on the turian frigates. After learning about several human ships in the atmosphere, the frigates began to retreat. Before escaping into orbit, one more frigate was destroyed and two more were damaged. However, the human success was short-lived as more than 80 turian fighters attacked and destroyed the remnants of human space forces with minimal losses themselves.
