Author's note: Hi, my loves! I've been kinda down lately, haven't had the energy for writing, but I'm gonna finish this fanfiction strong. Yup, this is the last chapter. This one's going to be sort of an epilogue, it takes place 3 years later. Happy reading!

2025, Storybrooke, Maine.

Henry grabbed his lunch off the kitchen counter. He and his moms were still living in the Mayor's mansion after Regina's re-election last year. She'd become a lot more likable among the residents of Storybrooke since she and Emma had gotten married.

Emma, still bleary eyed, gave Henry a kiss on the head. "Damn, kid," she remarked. "Another year or so and you'll be taller than me!" Henry laughed. "'Year'? You wish. I'm already taller than Mom, y'know."

"Just by a hair!" Regina called from the other room. "And he's right, Emma, it'll be 6 months at the most before you're no longer the tallest one in this family,"

Emma chuckled. "Nothing wrong with her hearing," She muttered to her son.

"Nope, there sure isn't," Regina said, waltzing into the kitchen smugly. "Now stop distracting him, Emma, Henry's got school. Have a good day, sweetie. Love you! And tell Ms. Blanchard I said 'hi'!"

The boy smiled. "Will do, Mom. Love you both," he said, grabbing his backpack and heading out.

Emma took a deep breath. After many long talks, she and Regina had finally found a sperm donor last week. Henry was with them every step of the way, and was ecstatic at the idea of having a little brother or sister. And five days ago, Regina had been inseminated. They still had to wait a week before taking a test. At this stage, the likelihood of a positive test was very low, and they wanted to keep morale high for all of them. Still, the thought that Regina could be pregnant at this very moment gave Emma the warmest feeling inside.

"What are you up to today, Sheriff?" Regina asked, turning to her wife. Emma shook the thought away. "Oh, y'know, the usual. I'll have a trashketball competition with Leroy, assuming he hasn't escaped. Then we'll get some lunch from Granny's and play darts all afternoon!" she grinned.

"Wow, you sure do have a lot on your plate," the brunette replied sarcastically. "I've got meetings till 1:30, an interview at 2, and then yoga class at 5. Will you pick up some groceries on your way home? I made a list of what we need," she said, handing a sticky note to Emma. "Sure thing, babe," Emma responded with a small giggle. 'Babe' had become their inside joke-slash-nickname ever since Regina had tried to make Ruby jealous at the diner years ago. "Thanks, Emma. I gotta go now. I love you," the Mayor said, kissing Emma sweetly before grabbing her stuff and running out the door.

I should check in on Leroy, see how he's doing, Emma thought to herself. She dug her badge out of yesterday's pants pocket, took her red leather jacket off its hanger, and headed out. The cool March air stung her cheeks as she hopped into the old yellow bug.

The day was pretty mundane. Emma released Leroy early after beating him at trashketball three times in a row, and the rest of the day was spent on the phone convincing Granny that Pongo is not rabid, just a little too friendly. She stopped at the grocery store before going home. She was greeted by a familiar smell: Regina's famous lasagna. The blonde headed straight for the kitchen. "Hey, babe, what's up? I didn't think you'd be home for hours!" she smiled, hugging her wife from behind. "Hello, my love. My yoga instructor is sick so I thought I'd surprise you! Henry's upstairs and dinner will be ready in 5. Would you set the table?"

Emma sighed contentedly. Married life wasn't always the easiest, but it was moments like these she'd always cherish. Henry bounded down the stairs, his footsteps echoing. "Henry Daniel Swan! What did I tell you about wearing your shoes in the house?" Regina yelled from the kitchen. Emma laughed as Henry's face grew red. "Sorry, Mom!" He called, kicking them off and neatly placing them in the shoe cabinet. "How does she know?" He whispered to Emma. "I couldn't tell you, kid. Sounds the same to me either way," the blonde told him. Secretly, she loved when Henry got in trouble with his other mom. Regina would never hurt him, Emma knew that, but she'd always worried that Henry would grow up without any discipline in his life. Their little family had the perfect balance. And maybe, one week from today, they'd find out that the final piece of their lives was on its way.

The 3 of them sat down at the table. Emma reached for the bread, but Regina smacked her hand away, clearing her throat. "My yoga class didn't really get canceled," She said nervously. "I made this dinner tonight because I… I'm pregnant!"

They were all three silent for a moment.

Emma spoke first. "What?! I thought they said a test probably wouldn't be positive at this point! I thought we had to wait another week! Oh, my God, Regina, you're joking. You're joking right?" Emma demanded, tears running down her cheeks.

"Emma, please," Regina laughed, tearing up as well. She grabbed her wife's cheeks, wiping her eyes, and put their foreheads together. "We are going to have a baby."

"Oh, my god. You're serious. We're having a baby. A baby. We're having a baby," Emma whispered, repeating the words to herself over and over. "Henry, you're gonna have a sibling!" She said out loud, turning to her son. Henry was beside himself, laughing and crying into his napkin. "You're having a baby! I'm going to have a sibling," He sobbed.

Dinner was delicious, of course. The Swan-Mills' spent the rest of their evening looking at baby name lists, supplies, doulas, diaper brands, and everything under the sun they could possibly need for the new baby.

one year later

"She's finally down," Emma whispered, gliding down the stairs. "Thank God," Regina replied, sighing. "It's 3AM already, I hope Henry was able to get some sleep. We're all going to be exhausted tomorrow."

"Definitely," said Emma. "I can't believe your maternity leave ends so soon. One more week doesn't feel like enough. We're so lucky I'll be able to bring Lily to work with me until she can start daycare."

"I'm dreading going back to work. She's still so little, she should be at home all day."

"I know, babe. I agree. It sucks that you can't be on leave any longer, but Lil's gonna be okay," Emma said.

"Emma," Regina said. "Do you ever think about where you'd be right now if you'd chosen to go back to New York? What do you think would be happening in your life?"
Emma thought for a moment. "I'm not sure," she said. "I do wonder, sometimes. I'm sure Henry and I would be okay. I know I'd think about you a lot. But we wouldn't be this happy. We wouldn't have each other, or Lily, or this house, and I think I'd feel a lot lonelier. This is the best possible way our lives could have gone."

"Agreed. Totally," Regina replied. "I love you, Sheriff."
Emma closed her eyes, tired but content. "I love you, too, Madame Mayor."

If you've made it this far, thanks so much for reading! I don't plan on writing any more fanfictions, so I want to thank all of you guys for the immense support I've gotten from you this last month or so. I love each and every one of you. -phantom.017
