And here's the final Digital Story chapter of this burst folks, hope you enjoy it, after this I'll post Warriors Frontier
Armed Toxin! Vanguamon & Tornamon!
The Digimon King blinked owlishly as he looked at what was sitting on his desk, removing his glasses and rubbing his eyes before putting them back on, blinking again to make sure he was seeing this right, before looking up at the Commandramon standing at attention in front of his desk "You're serious?"
"Yes sir!... I am as baffled as you are though." the Commandramon admitted, making the King sigh as he looked down at… a letter, which read…
"Sorry if you got confused these last weeks, we've been… occupied on Remnant. Stopping a White Fang attack against Kuo Kuana's chieftain because the leader of the splinter group stalks his daughter and wants to hurt her. And now we're in Anima because we need to get moving quickly. So if you had any time sensitive plans or what not… well, sorry about that kid. See you next time!"
And it was signed by one Gyro Vermillion, whom he figured was the leader of the Chosen.
The King sighed again "They don't really seem to take me seriously."
"Perhaps we can use that to our advantage?" the Commandramon asked.
"No we will not. To begin with I doubt the Chosen Children who defeated the Dark Masters would truly let their guard down. Furthermore, we won't be taking advantage of their absence beyond expanding territory. We won't be able to unify the Digital World if we send a message that we are no better than many of the evils that plagued it," the King said firmly.
"I think they just don't view you as evil, which is why they're casual." the King heard from next to him, looking down at his partner, a small chocolate brown Digimon with long rabbit-like ears, light pink marks on his body, and three horns on his forehead.
"You might be right Lopmon." the King said, though he had a soft smile "Well, nice to know I suppose."
"I call it a good thing," Lopmon nodded.
"Why's that?" Commandramon asked.
Lopmon gained a deadpan expression at that. "Do YOU feel like facing down 10 Ultimate Level Digimon who could no doubt snipe our towers from a distance before moving in to turn us into ashes or whatever their powers can do?"
Commandramon's pupils shrank till they were pin pricks. "...yes, let us stay the course and never stray from this path," he said, nodding his head vigorously.
"On that I think we all can agree," the King nodded.
Back on Remnant…
"Ok, we just left the nameless town behind." Gyro muttered as he looked at their map from where he was sitting next to Rusty, the rattlesnake Faunus still driving the RV at the moment "Meaning next is Shion Village."
"And if we mosey on over fast enough, we stop Yang's mom before her bandit tribe burns it to the ground, yeah?" Rusty asked.
"That's the idea. We'll also take away her means of fighting us, so we'll have to take off her dominant arm at the very least before we can take the Spring Maiden powers from her." Gyro nodded.
"Hopefully it'll go off without any complications." Blake sighed from where she was manning the radar, before she perked up "Bogeys at 7."
"On it!" Nora said as she angled the turrets and shot down a flock of Nevermore that were flying towards them. "Living in the world's most comfortable tank is pretty fun."
"After all the times we were risking our necks...yeah, it's oddly refreshing to be able to kick butt from basically the safety of our base for now," Salamon chuckled in agreement.
"Plus is kinda funny to run over the random Beowolf," Pierce added right as another Beowolf ended up on the windshield, before Rusty engaged the windshield wipers… the laser windshield wipers… that cut its head off.
"Only in Remnant are laser windshield wipers not completely insane," Gomamon laughed.
"How far are we from Shion Village?" Aile asked.
"We should arrive latest in a day," Gyro said based on the map. "How are things on the Digital World side?"
"About that…" Weiss frowned. "There's a signal from one of the areas on the map. It might be more Digimentals. That and while we've been focused on Remnant, more areas have become part of the King's territory."
"I think considering our progress...we should start working on things in the Digital World," Pyrrha added, earning a nod of agreement from Tentomon and Gabumon.
Gyro frowned in thought before he nodded "Good point. We'll have to take down a lot of his territory before we can stop him personally."
"Why don't you just go all out from high up in the sky though?" Bemmon asked curiously.
"Because that would make us no better than those we fight. The difference between a hero and a villain is knowing when to use the right amount of power." Agumon said sagely, and got a pat on the head from his partner.
"Well said buddy." Gyro chuckled. "Not to mention if we attack from the air, we're more likely to cause unneeded collateral damage considering these Towers tend to be near places where Digimon live."
"In short, we can't act carelessly, or we'll find ourselves the villains," Hawkmon frowned.
"Doubly so since from what you've told us, this time we're not against an actual 'villain' or anything," Monodramon frowned as well.
"So we need to stop him and make him see that he's going about it the wrong way, yes?" Penny asked.
"Exactly that yes. I'm sure once we stop him we can become allies with him, and his resources will be helpful." Weiss said with a nod.
"Personally I'm wondering what happened to him to make him think THIS was necessary," Jaune frowned. "I mean, I get that things are hard in Remnant...but to the point you want to get rid of chaos altogether…"
"It's not something a normal bad day can cause yeah," Gomamon agreed.
"With luck, we might find out soon enough," Pyrrha said. "So...who's going? We'd better still stick to the current strategy unless any further changes happen."
"Right, so a party of 10," Gyro nodded. "And I have a way to decide...provided there's nothing special about the area we're headed to."
"Hm...that area…" Falcomon frowned as he studied the map. "I think we've been there before."
"Hey, you're right. That area is mostly forests, so we'll probably need to be careful going through there...provided not TOO much has changed while we were gone," Keenan agreed.
"If they know the area, then Keenan and Falcomon should definitely be on the team," Ruby said, earning a few nods of agreement.
"So how do we decide the remaining 4 pairs?" Palmon asked...right before Gyro brought out a...japanese style raffle machine.
"I've taken the liberty of making this and these," he said, taking out a series of balls that had their individual symbols on them...though he'd made the ones for the Chosen with the Crests instead. "We load the balls into the raffle and…." he did just that and started spinning the raffle, which soon ejected a ball...bearing Penny's symbol. "First pair is Penny and Monodramon."
The others all blinked at the little contraption, because obviously, they'd never seen anything like it before, watching it spin intently before it popped out the ball and Penny cheered "Huh… well I suppose that IS a fair and impartial way of choosing." Weiss admitted after a moment.
"Is that what you needed all that plastic for yesterday?" Ruby asked with a blink.
"I had a feeling trying to figure out who should go would get hard quickly, so yeah, I figured this simple trick would be best," Gyro chuckled lightly. "Now then, since there are no objections…" he said before spinning it again, till 3 more balls were ejected, revealing to be the balls representing Weiss, Rusty, and Aile.
"Alright then, so the initial team this time will be Weiss and Tentomon, Keenan and Falcomon, Penny and Monodramon, Rusty and Bemmon, and of course Aile and Hawkmon," Gyro said again. "Of course, if things get hairy, don't be afraid to call for backup."
"No problem, we won't forget that," Rusty nodded.
"We'll keep everyone informed of what's happening," Weiss said as they moved to the computer screen that had the Digital Gate ready.
"Have a safe trip," Patamon said as they aimed their Digivices at the gate.
"We will," Penny nodded.
"Digital Gate, open!"
And with that they were soon taken to the Digital World.
Exiting out of a TV in the middle of a jungle, the group looked around at the skyscraper tall trees surrounding them, along with Aile looking at how her new outfit changed and saw that only the front had changed colored and now displayed her Crest on her stomach.
"My word! I've never heard of trees this big before!" Penny said in a bit of awe.
Weiss hummed "If I recall… Gyro showed me a picture of trees like that from Earth." she said, taking out her scroll and going through it before nodding "Right, these are baobab trees, but stretched out high and wide, and cluttered closer than how they are back on his home."
"How are they usually arranged?" Rusty asked.
"Apparently they usually have a few meters apart between each to account for the roots, and are mostly seen in one of the continents called Africa." she explained.
"But the Digital World throws real world logic out the window." Bemmon finished knowingly.
"Basically yes," Weiss shrugged. She'd gotten too used to the Digital World's topsy turvy logic.
"Wow...I wonder what the expedition teams are finding if there's weird stuff like this all over the Digital World," Penny wondered.
"If they're too straight laced? I'll imagine they'll be finding more reasons to drink," Aile snorted.
"I can imagine," Keenan and Falcomon laughed, remembering some of the crazy stuff they'd explored when they were younger.
"Hopefully THIS area is a bit lighter on the crazy stuff," Tentomon said.
"But considering our experiences…"Weiss sighed, before she and her partner shared a look. "Don't count on it." they said in perfect unison.
"Sounds about right yeah," Falcomon and Keenan nodded sagely. "Last time we were here, those trees had basically a building carved into them, complete with working elevators," Keenan mused.
Penny blinked at that, before looking at the trees in open confusion "... how?" she asked in bewilderment.
"Welcome to the Digital World. Leave all logic behind," Weiss said simply.
"...it's times like this that make me wonder if it's safe being here," Rusty deadpanned.
"And Remnant is any better?" Bemmon asked dryly.
"...touche," he admitted. "So...where to now?"
In response, Weiss opened her Scroll and checked the radar. "To where the Digimental is. Two of them at that."
"Whose are they going to be though?" Aile wondered.
"Only one way to find out. Let's grab them before we do a sweep of the area though. We'll possibly need their powers in case a fight breaks out." Keenan pointed out.
"Especially since those Crystal Towers are often in the most annoying places," Hawkmon agreed.
"Oh yeah...sucks I can't evolve while near a Tower," Monodramon said in annoyance.
"Oh! What if we evolved you outside of the tower's reach though?" Penny suggested with a smile.
"Wouldn't work, we've tried it already during a night incursion when no one would notice us." Rusty told her with a sigh "Bemmon turned into Snatchmon, only to turn back into Bemmon once he was in the tower's range."
"Props to the King, he's thorough," Aile sighed as they started moving in the direction of the signals.
The path they were taking was definitely into the King's territory since they could see a Crystal Tower now among the various trees. "We'd best go around that for now," Weiss sighed, earning several nods of agreement.
However, they didn't get far as an explosion suddenly happened not too far away from their location. "...that can't be good," Monodramon blinked.
"Since when are random explosions good?" Tentomon pointed out as the group went closer to take a look. What they found was what appeared to be a group of Digimon being loaded into a cage as several other Digimon were dragging it along, at the lead being a large white gorilla shaped Digimon with a canon replacing his right arm, and he was firing it around with a wicked grin on his face, one of his arms sporting a Crystal Ring.
"...well that guy doesn't look friendly. And I don't just mean because he's loading Digimon into cages," Weiss said dryly, before she activated the analyzer.
Digimon Analyzer: Gorillamon
Gorillamon. Data Type. An Adult Level Beast Man Digimon. A powerful Digimon with the leg and arm strength needed to crush most of his enemies, combined with his surprising agility for his size, it makes him a hard to predict opponent unless you can match his speed. His special attack is Power Attack, firing a large bullet of explosive energy from his arm cannon.
"Think this guy's like that Monochromon?" Rusty asked.
"I'd say that's likely yes," Weiss nodded.
"What do we do now?" Bemmon asked, to which Weiss thought about it for a moment.
"Let's split up. One team will follow those Digimon and the other will find the Digimentals," Weiss said.
"Who should do what?" Hawkmon asked.
Weiss tapped her chin in thought, taking a few moments to think. Strategy wasn't her best subject, something she had found the hard way through many simulations against the others, but she was able to think up basic plans at least "Rusty, Aile, take your partners and go for the Digimentals. If Mirei's smart, she sent you two the app as well. We'll deal with this idiot here until you find them and contact whoever they're for."
"It'll be difficult when only one of us can evolve." Falcomon sighed but readied himself for a battle.
"But we can handle it," Keenan said with determination as Rusty, Aile, and their partners soon broke off, following the signal to the Digimentals, while their group slowly tailed the group of Digimon that belonged to the King's faction.
They tailed them till they reached what could be described as a village that was surrounded by the towering trees...which doubled as literal towers, with the space between the trees used to make some simple walls around them. Gorillamon and his troops were bringing the caged Digimon in, and from where they were tailing them, they managed to get a bit higher to see into the village, seeing Gorillamon putting the caged Digimon with several others, while the residents of the town shut their doors and windows the moment he walked by, basically confirming what they thought of the situation.
"So we've got an area leader who's most likely abusing his authority," Keenan frowned. "What's the plan?"
"For now? Let's try to avoid detection as much as possible," Weiss frowned. "We can either free the Digimon first, or we can try to take out the tower to undo the lock on Evolution. Either or is viable. The question is which should we do first."
Penny seemed to be thinking about something. "Hm...we're assuming this Digimon is acting on their own, yes?"
"Considering what we know about the Digimon King, yes, we think it's a more likely possibility," Tentomon nodded.
"Then...what if we were to try and contact the King?" Penny suggested.
Weiss blinked at that, before humming as she considered it "Well… it might work. He's made it clear that he's a true peace seeker, and likely if he finds out some of his soldiers are acting like this…" she trailed off, looking at the Digimon that were partying in the middle of town like a bunch of drunken fascist soldiers.
"Question is, how DO we send him a message?" Keenan frowned.
Penny hummed… before she twitched "I… may have an idea." she said, wincing as she rubbed one of her temples "I just picked up a radio frequency all of a sudden, but all I'm getting is static. If we could find one of the King's frequencies though, I could send him a morse code message."
"The only problem there is we'll need a signal to use," Falcomon frowned.
"Why not use that Tower over there," Monodramon pointed out. "If the King can turn them on and off, they've got to have a signal we can use."
"Huh...that could work," Tentomon mused. "We'll just need someone to distract them while we hack into the Tower…"
"We've got that covered," Keenan and Falcomon said without hesitation.
With that the group nodded and separated once more, Keenan pulling up the hood of his cape as he jumped up the trees and started striking the one just outside the village, facing the front of the tower, creating enough sound to draw their attention as the Digimon started to investigate, while Weiss and Penny went around the village with their partners, coming up on the back of the tower and staying crouched down once they neared it, Weiss pulling out a cord from her pouch and… simply jamming it into the tower before plugging the other end in her scroll before she started tapping away on it, trying to find the correct frequency.
"And… there, I think that's the right one." she said, before unplugging her scroll and passing the cord to Penny, who plugged it in the back of her neck, and a moment later, her eyes started beeping, glowing with each beep, and Weiss was able to recognise it as morse code after a few seconds.
"Message prepared and ready to transmit," Penny said after a moment.
"Ready to send," Weiss nodded as the morse code was transmitted. "Now we just see if or when the King actually gets this," she frowned.
"Speaking of which...I wonder how Rusty's group is doing," Penny mused.
"A forest of trees with elevators...and we got the one that only has a spiral staircase," Rusty grumbled as he and his group reached the top of the spiral staircase...and were completely out of breath.
"And of all the places it could be...it HAD to be the one that was like...50 stories high," Aile panted.
"I don't want to see so many stairs anymore...ever…" Bemmon groaned.
"Let's just get the Digimentals and be done with this…" Hawkmon suggested.
"Agreed…" the others said as they walked into the temple that had been carved into the tree.
"Awright, if the radar's right, the Digimentals should be… right there." Rusty said as he looked at the radar app on his scroll, with two signals coming from behind two large wooden doors.
"Hopefully the ones that their for will get here quickly." Aile sighed as they went to push the large doors open, stepping into a dimly lit room with an altar in the back and two Digimentals sitting on it.
The two Digimentals were certainly… interesting looking. The first was a dark green in color, and, for all intents and purposes, it looked like it was made from pieces of a military vehicle, as it was even sitting on tank threads. The other was black in color, looking like a cocoon of sorts, with sharp claws on the front letting it stand upright, and what looked like a stinger hanging off the top.
More notably however, where the Crests on each.
Rusty's Crest of Determination on the first, and Aile's Crest of Compassion on the second.
"These are… ours?" Bemmon asked in surprise.
"It would appear to be the case, yes." Hawkmon said with a nod, just as shocked as he was.
"Then… that means…" Rusty trailed off with wide eyes.
"We can actually start to be helpful now!" Aile cheered as she realised they didn't need to be backup or treated like newbies anymore.
With that, the two stepped up to the Digimentals and picked them up, the relics being raised up from the pedestals without issue, before the two Faunus turned to their partners. "Ready you two?" Rusty smirked a little.
"Is the Digital World topsy turvy?" Bemmon chuckled.
(Play 'Break Up!')
At that both of them raised their newly acquired Digimentals. "Digimental Up!" they called out.
The Crests of Determination and Compassion were spinning in two separate voids, before Bemmon and Hawkmon appeared, also spinning alongside their respective Digimentals and Crests.
"Bemmon…!" Bemmon called out as he started to spin faster.
"Hawkmon…!" Hawkmon called out as he started to spin faster.
"Armor Evolution!" they called out in unison as the Crest, Digimental, and Digimon converged, followed by a bright light.
Bemmon was covered in a cocoon of metal that was formed together into the shape of a heavily armored quadruped, a faded image of Snatchmon appearing over it, followed by two silhouettes, before the metal cocoon burst open, revealing Bemmon's new form. He had taken on the shape of a quadrupedal lizard with a long tail, said tail having a… gatling gun at the tip. He was heavily armored yet in a way that didn't restrict movement, with said armor being covered in military camo designs, with sections on his legs that had tank treads attached to it. The armor on his body had what appeared to be many compartments that could open up to reveal weaponry, with the only set always exposed being the turrets mounted on his shoulders. His head was also armored in a way that kept his face exposed, the Crest of Determination on his forehead, before a visor came down and covered his lone eye, lighting up as a HUD appeared before his view, to which he opened up his weaponry and fired all over. "Armed Determination! Vanguamon!" he called out.
Hawkmon was covered in a sphere of what appeared to be a dark purple liquid that seemed to shift and bubble, his silhouette barely visible through the liquid, before it took on the shape of a winged quadruped with a long tail, a faded image of Aquilamon appearing, followed by two shadowy silhouettes. The liquid then burst open as Hawkmon's new form flew out, his wings had moved to his back, with his wingspan even becoming longer, letting him fly much more easily, his torso bore black armor that had the Crest of Compassion on the chest, a pair of front legs made from that same black armor, each leg bearing four sharp claws, his head covered in a black, winged helmet that left his beak exposed, while a spine of black armor went down his back until it reached his tail… and it extended into a long scorpion like stinger. "Unyielding Compassion! Tornamon!"
Digimon Analyzer: Vanguamon
Vanguamon. Virus Type. An Armor Level Cyborg Digimon. A Bemmon that evolved through the power of the Digimental of Determination, being donned in heavy assault armor that can rival the weapons of the D-Brigade. Digimon that don the power of this Digimental will always be equipped with extreme weaponry befitting their natural abilities, making them better combatants to take down their opponents. His special attacks are Dead End Shoot, firing a pair of lock-on missiles that never stop chasing their target, and Final Salvo, unleashing the might of his full armament.
Digimon Analyzer: Tornamon
Tornamon. Data Type. An Armor Level Mythical Beast Digimon. A Hawkmon that evolved through the power of the Digimental of Compassion, gaining power over poisons and toxins thanks to it. Ironic, I know. Digimon that don the power of this Digimental will gain the ability to manipulate all forms of toxin before injecting them with their equipped stinger, based on data from the mythological Manticore. His special attacks are Savage Flight, crashing into his enemies before tearing them to pieces with his dark claws, and Venom Laser, firing a beam of poisonous liquid from his stinger.
The temple they'd been in...basically exploded as the two newly evolved Digimon burst out of it, their partners already on their backs. Tornamon easily flew through the air at a speed that was even stronger than Aquilamon, while Vanguamon was running down the bark of the tree for a moment, before crouching down, his legs becoming tank threads which were catching into the tree allowing him to go straight down without fear of falling off.
"These Armor Evolutions are one hell of an emergency system!" Rusty gasped as he hung on to his partner for dear life...and hung on to his hat while he was at it too.
"This is the Digital World. It probably NEEDS those!" Vanguamon laughed as they soon reached the ground and were now riding towards the town where the Tower was located.
"So what's the plan?" Aile asked as she and Tornamon flew closer to them.
"Probably crash whatever party is happening over there, and send the tower falling to the ground," Tornamon said.
"...works for us," Rusty and Aile shrugged.
"So much for trying a stealthy approach," Weiss frowned, as currently they were fighting off Gorillamon and his troops...which consisted of various simian-like Digimon...thankfully though only the Gorillamon had a Crystal Ring, so that made it easier for Falcomon and Monodramon to fight the various Digimon, Keenan and Penny helping as well...something greatly helped by how Penny could make use of her weapons.
Weiss on the other hand was fighting alongside ForceBeemon to keep Gorillamon off balance, as a mix of her Glyphs and his drills were keeping the Digimon on the defensive. However, as it was they were at a bit of a stalemate since while Gorillamon's army was...lacking in quality, it turns out he had a lot more quantity than they expected.
Gorillamon laughed as he fired a shot from his arm cannon, forcing Weiss and ForceBeemon to move out of the way "Ha! I knew you so called Chosen Children were just all talk! Can't even be bothered to use power the way it should be! Ever since the King arrived Digimon like me have been finally getting the power we deserve!"
"Power that the King intended to use to PROTECT the Digital World, even if misguidedly," ForceBeemon pointed out. "You're just using it to further your own ends! You're wrong and you know it! Why else haven't you called for backup!"
"I don't need the rest of the army to crush the likes of you!" Gorillamon growled.
"Wanna bet?" came Aile's voice as she and Tornamon flew through the ranks of his followers, bowling them over and injecting the stronger ones with a paralytic venom, causing them to fall to the ground twitching a bit.
"Sorry we're a bit late!" Rusty laughed as he and Vanguamon jumped over the gates and threw the army into further disarray as they drove through their ranks, shooting several of them and sending them flying.
"You arrived just in time," Falcomon smirked.
"Doesn't matter! I can take you all on!" Gorillamon roared...right before his Crystal Ring promptly shut down and fell off, shattering on the ground. "What?" he gasped.
The nearby Crystal Tower lit up, before a holographic image was projected, one revealing to be the Digimon King. "What indeed," he said with a frown. "When I entrusted you with that area, I expected you to govern it well, but here I find out you've been oppressing it and acting as if you own that land and its people. I am VERY disappointed in you, Gorillamon."
"B-but your Majesty...surely you wouldn't believe…" Gorillamon started but was cut off.
"Who's word to take? The ones who have been willing to bleed and die for this world, or a subordinate that I admittedly don't know as much about as I'd like," the King said simply. "I think the answer is obvious. Or would you like me to come there personally and verify with the army? I'm sure the residents would be QUITE open to answering the truth when they know there will be literally no repercussions possible for them."
"He's horrible!" one voice from the village shouted.
"He takes all of our food!" another voice added.
"And he wrecks the homes of those who don't let him do what he wants!" a third voice finished.
The King took a deep breath, before letting it out slowly through his nose, giving a glare to Gorillamon, before his eyes focused on Weiss "Miss Schnee, I leave his punishment in your capable hands. I will withdraw my forces completely from this area, and you can destroy the tower if you wish."
"Of course. Have a pleasant day your majesty." Weiss said with a polite nod before the King cut the connection and the tower powered down, which was followed by Falcomon and Monodramon evolving to Adult level.
Gorillamon soon found himself surrounded by 3 Armor level Digimon and 2 Adult level Digimon...oh and the town's folk were coming out and they looked angry too. "Uh...come on...can't you all take a...joke?" he asked lamely.
"No!" the residents roared to the point there was a shockwave.
"You're terrorizing an entire village just because you got some power, and you start begging the moment you lose it? You really ARE pathetic," Strikedramon shook his head in disgust. "Who wants to do the honors of sending this moron packing?"
"I think our newly evolved friends can take the honor." Peckmon smirked, looking to Tornamon and Vanguamon.
"Gladly." the two Digimon said together.
"Savage Flight!" Tornamon shouted as he flew at Gorillamon and struck him in the chest with his armored claws, before grabbing him with his tail and throwing him into the air.
"Dead End Shoot!" Vanguamon added as missile pods on his shoulders opened up, revealing a pair of missiles with shark like grins that fired towards Gorillamon, striking him in the air… and sending him flying until he was just a dot in the sky.
"Anyone ELSE wants some?" ForceBeemon asked the remaining members of Gorillamon's troops.
"NOPE!" they shouted and ran out of the village by themselves.
"And now for that thing." Rusty said as they looked at the tower, before he hoped off his partner "All yours ol friend."
Vanguamon chuckled, before he brought his visor down and aimed, locking on completely to the tower "Final Salvo!" he shouted as every single panel on his body opened and fired all manners of rockets, missiles and bullets at the tower, soon leaving nothing but data dust.
"So you're sure you'll all be okay?" Keenan asked the residents.
"Oh yeah, we'll be fine. We still believe in what the King wants to do, but putting our fates into someone else's hands...that was our mistake," the representative, a Woodmon said with a nod. "We'll still do our part in making the vision of a united Digital World happen, but we'll do it in a way that won't be easily abused."
"Well...if that's your choice I guess we can accept that," Falcomon frowned a bit.
"We'll always be ready to come help if you need it though." Aile said with a smile.
"Thank you." the Woodmon said with a bow "Good luck in your endeavors, Chosen Children."
"You sure the King won't come back and try to reclaim this area?" Rusty asked shortly after they left the area and headed back to their entry point.
"He won't," Weiss said simply. "They've made it clear where they stand, and he literally gave up this area the moment he found out the commander he picked was abusing his power. If he pushes his way into an area, then he's no better than an invader, something that's counter productive to his goal."
"So if an area rejects his rule, he won't push to claim the area," Tentomon nodded in agreement.
"It's weird but kinda refreshing to have an opponent that's not actually...evil," Monodramon chuckled. The mission today was a complete success it seems.
And there we go people!
So, a lot happened over the last four chapters, and the Chosen are prepared for a LOT of stuff.
Also, as you saw, we gave them some upgrades... and redesigned Aile to give her a better appearance.
Her previous look was NOT my best work, but I much prefer this new one.
Anyway, I'll see you all in the next chapter, because...
The Adventure Evolves
