Hey guys!
Sorry it took a bit to bring a new chapter of this, but we weren't really sure what event to do next.
We figured it out though, obviously.
Hope you enjoy!
Striking Kindness! Tetermon!
"So far so good. Looks like we're making good progress on going through Anima," Gyro mused as he was looking over a map and keeping track of their course. The RV was currently parked at the edge of another random town they'd come upon. So far they hadn't reached Shion Village yet, but with how fast they were covering ground...it was only a matter of time and they were sure they could be ready for the attack when the time came. In the meantime though, they'd helped where they could in local villages. Speaking of help… "Anything new going on in the Digital World?" he asked.
"Not particularly so far. A few new areas are part of the King's territory now, but he's been very slow lately on expansion," Weiss reported. "If nothing else that supports the idea that he's keeping it diplomatic."
"Though...there were some areas that seem to have been added shortly after each other. So either they both agreed to join quickly, or…" Tentomon trailed off.
"Just because he's aiming for peaceful diplomacy doesn't mean everyone in the kingdom is on board. They could have taken over an area and claim that they agreed," Gabumon frowned.
"We should probably try looking for more Digimentals, but without a clue where to look...we'd be going around blind," Ren added with a frown.
"Then we have things on this side to worry about," Falcomon sighed. "It's hard to choose sometimes where to focus…"
However, right as he said that, there was an alert on the computer. "Looks like that question was taken out of our hands," Weiss blinked. "It's a message from the Resistance."
"The Resistance? Why are they contacting us?" Jaune blinked.
"It's a distress signal. Looks like one of their bases is under attack," Weiss explained. "We'd better send help quickly!"
"Ok, no time for the roulette then." Gyro said seriously, before turning to the others "Jaune, Ren, you two go find Nora, Pyrrha and Pierce, you five are going. And take Rusty with you too, better to have two Digimentals on the team rather than just one."
"Got it." Jaune nodded, before he and Ren ran to go get the other four.
It wasn't long before everyone got their gear and were ready in front of the computer terminal. "Ready everyone?" Pierce asked.
"Ready anytime," Rusty nodded.
"Alright then, let's go," Pierce nodded as they held out their Digivices. "Digital Gate, open!"
The group soon appeared in the area that was covered in greenery as once again they'd ended up in a forest area. Like the others, their clothes had changed colors too, Ren's shirt gone from his usual dark green to the lavender of his crest, said crest on his back, Jaune's armor was what changed color for him, becoming a dark grey with his crest on the chest plate, Pyrrha's crest appeared on her cape, the piece of cloth turning from it's usual red to dark blue at the same time, while Pierce's short coat had become a golden yellow with his crest on the back "...at least we show up in places less likely to have enemies seeing us," Wormmon mused. "Though…where is the Resistance base?"
Right on cue an explosion happened.
"...I'm gonna guess...that way?" Gomamon said dryly to which they all soon ran into the direction of the explosion and soon found the end of the forest they were in and…
"...really?" was the dry question Pierce let out seeing as they were on a cliffside...and down in a valley they saw...a small japanese-style town complete with a japanese-style fortress/castle...which was being laid siege to by what were the armies of the Digimon King evident by the flag...and the fact they apparently decided to CARRY a Crystal Tower with them on some kind of vehicle. "If they were expecting this to be a hidden base, then they were WAY off the mark…"
"Maybe it normally has a cloaking field of some kind?" Rusty said with a shrug.
"Makes sense if you ask me." Veemon mused.
"Whatever the case, let's help them first THEN ask for an explanation," Bemmon said, earning nods of agreement as they all soon made their way down. Oh sorry, did I say made their way down? I meant they jumped off the cliff like it was nothing, and since they were still out of range, proceeded to Evolve on the way down.
"Until we beat this guy, Evolution is basically going to be like a minor gimmick of ours we can rarely use over here." Garurumon sighed as he gradually jumped down the cliff with Pyrrha and Jaune on his back.
"Basically, it's going to be annoying." Stingmon said in deadpan as he carried Ren on his shoulder.
"I guess we have it lucky in that case." Nefertimon said as she glided down with Nora and Gomamon sitting on her back.
"Define 'lucky' in this case." Vanguamon said dryly as he had to carefully slide down while Rusty, Pierce and Veemon clung to him tightly. Eventually they reached the bottom and without missing a beat, continued onward. The group kept close as true enough once they were in range, the Adult Levels reverted into Child Level...and quickly the role of who was carrying who was reversed save for the Armors.
"It says a lot about us that we did that like clockwork," Pyrrha chuckled slightly.
"We're getting too used to fighting various threats in the Digital World," Gabumon couldn't help but agree. "At least Remnant is great for feeling like we're playing god mode."
"Considering the best 'Canon' had other than Salem was more or less the Maidens and those are Perfect Level at most...yeah, going Ultimate is just cheating," Pierce snorted.
It wasn't long before they reached the edge of the battle field. Seeing the positions of the combatants, they went for the Siege party and opened fire, taking the party by surprise. The army was so focused on trying to breach the gates of the castle that they didn't notice the Chosen until it was too late, and their siege weapons were destroyed. In their confusion, it was simple enough for the Chosen to start picking them off, going for the Digimon who had Crystal Rings with them, destroying the rings, while also aiming for the Crystal Tower. In short, it was a decisive attack that ended with the Crystal Rings broken and the Tower damaged enough that it was shut down.
"Retreat!" the leader of the siege party gasped, seeing that they'd lost their advantage and with that the siege party quickly dispersed...though it was doubtful they'd given up just yet.
"Good riddance." Gomamon chuckled as he watched the siege force run away.
"They'll be back though." Jaune sighed.
"They always do come back." Pyrrha added with a frown.
"Well...guess the next thing to do is to finally meet the Resistance we've known about for a while now," Pierce mused as they turned to face the gates and waited. They figured the Resistance would notice the lack of siege force by now. True enough, the Resistance members DID notice this and soon came to check, revealing a miscellaneous assortment of Digimon peeking over the damaged walls.
"They...stopped?" one of the Digimon blinked...until they saw the Chosen and brightened. "The Chosen Children are here! We're saved!"
"Sup!" Nora said with a grin, making the others laugh at her casual tone while the gates were opened and several Digimon walked out. They didn't get to say much if anything...as they were promptly ushered in and well…
"...okay not gonna lie, getting the red carpet treatment is really nice," Rusty chuckled awkwardly, as while they didn't have a literal red carpet, the fact every Digimon on the base was basically cheering at their arrival...it was a nice feeling.
"Feels good to know they appreciate us yeah," Gomamon chuckled.
"Let's not get too comfortable," Pierce whispered. "Let's hear their side out first before we make any choices."
"Right...there's always more than one side of the story," Pyrrha nodded in agreement as they were soon led into the fortress proper. They were brought to the main pagoda and going up the stairs, they entered a room that had several Digimon in it, all looking over a map, while also directing some of their forces for repairs.
And they also saw the obvious leader, who looked like a beast man Digimon wearing black armor with red skin beneath it, his head in a black canine helmet with silver hair coming out the back, his forearms covered in gauntlets shaped like canine heads.
He looked… VERY familiar to some pictures Coco had sent of Fox's partner in his Perfect form.
The Digimon looked up at the sound of footsteps, and smiled "Ah, nice of you to join us Chosen Children. One of my watchers in town reported ahead you were coming here. I am Cerberumon."
The Chosen blinked at that "Wait, really? One of our friends has a Cerberumon as a partner though and he's a quadruped." Pyrrha asked in surprise.
Cerberumon chuckled "Yes, that's perfectly normal. That's because I am in my Werewolf Mode."
"Makes sense to me." Ren shrugged at that, finding it to be a simple answer. "So...I guess the first thing we're wondering is why the King's forces were attacking. Aside from the whole this is your base."
"Not to mention we're assuming there's something that should normally keep this place safe since well...its not exactly all that hidden right now," Jaune mused.
Cerberumon sighed "You'd be right about that. We normally have a cloaking device around the whole complex to keep it hidden, and it should be going back up right now. But… one of our idiotic recent recruits wanted to try and make a stupid statement that we should fight the King until we go out in a blaze of glory, and basically screamed out location to the world by powering down the device and sending out a signal." he said with a growl "He's been dealt with already for his idiotic maneuvers."
"...wow...that's some level of suicidal overconfidence right there…" the chosen and their partners said dryly.
"Well, what's done is done. It can't be helped anymore, so all we can do is clear out this base. It's not like we didn't consider something like this might happen, so we have other bases that we can use. The problem is clearing out will take time, and on top of that we need to make sure all data regarding our other bases and communications are wiped. If the King gains access to that data, it'll become all that much easier for him to dismantle the Resistance," Cerberusmon frowned.
Jaune frowned at that, before holding his chin in thought "Well… what about… instead of moving everything… we uproot this base?"
Cerberumon blinked "Uproot it? What exactly do you mean?"
"Well, there's BOUND to be a way we can just lift up a portion of the land and turn it into a flying island, right? This IS the Digital World after all, anything can be done here if you know coding well enough." Jaune suggested.
"I'll call Gennai." Pierce said with a grin, liking the idea "If anybody can help us with this, it's him."
"Might want to call the others too so they know about the plan, or at least the idea," Pyrrha added.
"...well, we've done some really crazy stuff before, but I think this one might be a new level," Gyro said in amusement as the group in the RV were communicating through the computer. "But what do you think? Think it's doable?"
"It's certainly a stretch, but very much possible," Gennai mused. "It'll take some time and quite a bit of programming, but we can make it happen."
"It's...certainly not something any of us would have considered," Cerberusmon blinked. "But if this can save the base AND give us a new strategic advantage, then we're all for it. What do we need to do?"
"For starters, you'll need to set an area that we want to lift into the air. Keep in mind, the larger the area, the longer it will take. Furthermore the perimeter will need to be defended until the process is completed, so take that all into consideration," Gennai said.
"Of course. Thank you for this." Cerberumon said with a grateful nod. "As for a perimeter...I think the minimum we need is the fortress and town. The town and its gates double as both an extra defense, but also housing for various members and the occasional refugee. I don't think we can just leave that behind…"
"Then there's resources to worry about…" Gomamon mused.
"Where do you get food and water here? Or do you have it all shipped?" Bemmon asked.
"Water may be an issue, but food would include the town, as there are a few meat farms set up within the town walls," Cerberusmon sighed. "As for a water supply...we'll figure something out. For now this should be what we NEED to bring with us."
"Alright then, I will send over some markers. Once all four are set, I'll begin the process of modifying the area's data," Gennai nodded, before he started typing on a console where he was located...and a set of four spikes appeared, all of them having a crystal-like section on the top, no doubt to create the outline of the area that was to be modified.
"Alright, just tell us where you want these." Pierce said as he grabbed one of the spikes, Ren, Nora and Rusty doing the same.
"I'm still not quite sure on the EXACT locations." Cerberumon frowned as he opened a digital map of their base.
"We'll help with that then." Jaune said, with Pyrrha nodding, turning to the others "You guys go to the general four corners and we'll guide you from there."
"Got it," everyone nodded, making note of the locations and soon moving out.
Meanwhile…
A clawed limb slammed into a table, the owner revealing to be a large grey Digimon that appeared to be a more muscular Tyranomon with an X shaped scar on his chest.
"Dammit! The Chosen Children showed up at the worst time!" he growled as he looked at some of his trusted troops.
"MasterTyranomon, sir! What should we do about them?" one of his troops asked.
Digimon Analyzer: MasterTyranomon
MasterTyranomon. Data Type. A Perfect Level Dinosaur Digimon. A Tyranomon that has survived many fierce battles, evolving into a stronger warrior. It takes on the role of teacher and master, coaching it's fellow Dinosaur Digimon to help them all become stronger. Its special attacks are Master Fire, unleashing a powerful gout of flames, and Master Claw, tearing the enemy to shreds with its large claws.
MasterTyranomon sighed "There's not much we CAN do men. Even though the Crystal Towers prevent normal Evolution, the Chosen have found a way around it with this new Armor Evolution of theirs."
"Does that mean this operation is a failure then?" they frowned.
"Not quite a failure," MasterTyrannomon mused. "Now that we know the location of this base, it should be a simple matter to wait till either the Chosen Children leave, or the Resistance abandons the base. From there, occupying the location and making it part of our territory should be easy."
"And it's STILL one less base for the resistance to use. Good thinking," his troops nodded in agreement.
"Unfortunately it won't be THAT simple," came a voice as a nearby communicator activated, though the person on the other end was not visible behind some static and even the voice was distorted, though not enough to make them hard to understand. "It seems the Resistance has been given a new opportunity."
"What do you mean?" MasterTyrannomon blinked in surprise. One might question why he was speaking so easily with someone who's identity was unknown, but the channel used wasn't unknown. It was one of a series of channels only used by the leader of their unofficial faction within the Digimon Kingdom. The faction that would see to it that their King's ideal world would come to fruition no matter what.
"It seems our mon on the inside got word that the Chosen Children intend to turn the base into a mobile fortress. If they succeed, not only will this operation end in failure, but the Resistance would potentially gain a notable advantage," the voice warned.
MasterTyrannomon's eyes widened at that. "We must not allow that to happen!" he growled, slamming his claw into the table again. "Mobilize our remaining troops. We must prevent their plan from reaching fruition!"
"Sir, yes sir!" the troops nodded and quickly began spreading the orders.
"There we go. That should be the last of em now." Rusty said as he planted his spike into the ground, receiving confirmation the others had done the same.
"Now it's just a matter of waiting for the program to finish activating." Ren sighed from his end.
"At least we already beat back the Army. Even if they come back quickly, they won't be as strong since they'll have less soldiers." Wormmon said from his shoulder.
"Let's just hope they don't immediately start attacking. If they do, we'll have to defend the spikes," Pyrrha frowned.
"I'll send some guards over to help with that," Cerberumon said over the communications. "For now we can begin the modification process. For now though, please feel free to return here. You've all done plenty."
"Alright, we'll take you up on that offer," Jaune said with a small smile as they soon returned to the main pagoda, while the guards were soon stationed at the stakes to ensure nothing happened while Gennai was doing his work.
While that was happening, the group was gathered together again. "So...we were kinda curious, how exactly does the Resistance work?" Rusty asked. "I mean, we get you're opposing the King's plans, but I think we can all agree this isn't exactly a straight forward deal."
Cerberumon sighed at that one. "You'd be right. We're well aware that the Digimon King isn't remotely the second coming of the Dark Masters. He's not even the second coming of Devimon. The problem is the factions under him. Not everyone seems to understand he wants to do things diplomatically. Among them are the ones who were attacking us earlier."
"An Extremist Faction, huh?" Pierce groaned. "And I'll bet the leaders of the areas who aren't doing their job right aren't helping."
"Pretty much yes," Cerberumon sighed. "And as much as I hate to admit it, we're not exactly squeaky clean either," he sighed.
"...Extremists in your own ranks?" Gomamon said dryly.
"Pretty much yes," Cerberumon grumbled.
Pyrrha sighed "Great, so we're gonna have to do clean-up duty on both sides of the fence."
"Yipee." Gabumon said in deadpan.
"My apologies." Cerberumon said in a truly apologetic tone "We try our best to root them out, but some are sadly smarter than others."
"At least you're not acting like it's not an issue," Veemon sweat dropped.
"If I acted like that, then my Cell has already lost the fight," Cerberumon sighed. "Not gonna lie, things were a lot simpler when the lines were black and white. There was nothing to question back in the days of the Dark Masters or the other overlords like them. Even so, I honestly prefer it the way it is now. At least whoever comes out on top I can feel the Digital World has a good chance to move forward one way or another…"
"Yeah...honestly the only part we're very iffy about is the whole 'Blocking Evolution' thing the Towers do. Everything else that's actually done right...honestly not bad," Bemmon mused, scratching the back of his head.
"...think we should stop confusing ourselves over the part where the guy leading the other side...really isn't evil at all when you break it all down?" Wormmon suggested.
"Probably a good idea yes," Ren sighed. "On a more important note, think we'll actually be able to get this done without a hitch?"
Everyone looked at each other, before gaining deadpan looks. "Don't count on it," they all said, knowing how things usually went on this side of their adventures.
"Didn't think so," Ren nodded sardonically.
As if the heavens themselves wanted to prove them right… the ground started shaking beneath their feet.
"Sir! We're under attack!" came a voice from the nearby radio.
"And called it." Salamon sighed.
"Whelp, looks like we're gonna have to deal with whatever they're throwing at us. Business as usual," Bemmon shrugged as they were soon out of the pagoda. However, as they were exiting, Ren noticed his Digivice acting up.
"Wait, what?" Ren blinked.
"What's wrong?" Wormmon asked.
"I'm suddenly picking up a Digimental Signal...from somewhere on this base?" Ren blinked.
"...why the heck did you only get the signal now?" Nora blinked in surprise. "Usually those show up when we land."
"Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth," Jaune said. "Any extra help is gonna be a big help for us."
"I'll go with Ren then. No doubt they brought another tower, so we'll need you two ready on the attack." Pyrrha said, looking to Nora and Rusty who both nodded.
"Let's do this, people." Pierce grinned, slamming his fist into his hand.
The Siege Army was back in...okay not full force, but they were back and ready for more. Unfortunately for them, by now the defenses on the base walls had been somewhat repaired, allowing the Resistance to put up some fight. The ones who were in more danger were the guards for the spikes, but that was why the Chosen were working to defend those. Between Vanguamon and Nefertimon, they were able to keep the attackers away from the spikes...especially with how Vanguamon's speed allowed him to quickly respond from one attack to another. Up in the air, Nefertimon was doing her best to shoot down any fliers coming their way, while Pierce and Veemon were helping with the wall defenses to either hold off the attackers, or to try and keep them off of the spikes too. At the same time, Jaune and Gomamon were coordinating defenses at other points of the base just in case the Siege Army would try to break off and target multiple points. So far nothing though.
"These guys sure aren't quitting. It's like they somehow know if they fail here, it's over," Nora frowned.
"If that IS true, even more reason for us to stop them here and now," Nefertimon frowned as she shot down another flier. "You know, this would be a lot easier if I could use Sanctuary Bind…"
"...you know I just had a thought," Blake mused as she was in the middle of doing maintenance on Gambol Shroud X.
"What is it?" Patamon asked.
"You know how Nefertimon and Pegasmon seem to work very well together, since they even have a combined move?" she said.
"Yes?" Patamon blinked.
"I was thinking then why we didn't go with the others," Blake explained.
As it so happened Gyro was also doing some maintenance and he blinked owlishly. "...ooops," he admitted. "Though to be fair, you and Nora aren't really the first pair I'd think of for a team."
"...fair enough. Besides, the Sanctuary Bind isn't THAT much of a game changer," Blake shrugged.
"Yeah, I'm sure they'll be just fine," Patamon agreed.
"Okay so far so good. Looks like we've been able to hold them back so far," Pierce mused, before taking out his Digivice. "How's the process coming along?"
"Smoothly, but unfortunately not fast enough. You'll need to hold out for longer," Gennai said, though it was clear he was working as fast as he could.
"Just get the code done. We'll find a way to hold out," Veemon said as they used the defenses to continue fending the forces off.
On the opposing side, MasterTyranomon frowned as he saw his forces being held back. Even with the power the Crystal Rings gave them, it wasn't enough. The Chosen Children were still able to fight them off, and the weakness of the Crystal Rings were known, and thus they were purposely aiming to break the rings. As it was, his troops weren't able to break through the defenses that had been set up, and it was only a matter of time before they completed whatever it was that they were aiming to do…
"I have to do something," he frowned. "If this keeps up, our King's dream will only grow further away..." Looking at his own Crystal Ring, he thought about it. A single Crystal Ring could boost the power of whoever wore it...but if one were to use more than one...he wasn't sure as there were reasons why each time they were issued one Ring per mon. However, this was an emergency. As such, he grabbed a pair of spare Crystal Rings, before he attached them to his other arm and neck. The moment he did so, the three Rings seemed to start glowing, and he felt a surge of energy go through him.
Letting out a roar as the energy flowed through him, MasterTyranomon rushed towards the entrance himself, and despite the attacks pelting his scales, he kept going, aiming to break through the doors…
Only to suddenly have an explosive hit him the face and halt him in his tracks as he staggered backwards a bit.
"Don't forget about us being here." Vanguamon said, one of his panels closing up.
"Don't know what you just did to yourself, but even if you're stronger, you still have to deal with us on your tail." Rusty smirked, spinning one of his pistols on his finger.
MasterTyranomon growled, turning to face them...and was promptly pelted with Nile Jewels from Nefertimon, ending with a grenade from Nora. "We're all here!" Nora added cheerfully.
"And we're not gonna let you break through," Nefertimon agreed.
"You will NOT stop our King from reaching his dreams!" MasterTyranomon roared.
"Is this even part of his dream? Attacking people unprovoked?" Pierce shot back.
"The King is kind, sometimes too kind. We will ensure that the obstacles to his dreams are removed!" MasterTyranomon said.
"And you're conveniently avoiding the question of whether this really IS what he'd want," Vanguamon said dryly.
"Guess there's nothing to do but to stop you here and now," Rusty frowned.
"Just try it!" MasterTyranomon roared as his Rings glowed and he charged forward, meeting them head on.
"It looks like we're close." Ren said as he looked on his radar, currently the four of them were walking through the gardens, having been guided there by the nearby Digimental.
"So… your Digimental is hidden around here then." Pyrrha mused, looking around, she couldn't see much that might be capable of hiding a relic inside of it, as the gardens were actually water gardens with water lilies floating on top of them.
"So it seems… where exactly though, as the signal…" Ren sighed, looking down at his scroll, and the signal was… hazy, at best, simply showing that the Digimental was somewhere in the immediate area.
"Think it might be underground? Or maybe in the water?" Gabumon suggested.
"That'd be different, but it makes sense. It's close but we can't seem to tell where it is exactly," Ren frowned.
"Feels kind of strange to suddenly hide it when before they were all just...waiting there...for us," Pyrrha mused.
"Whatever the case, we have to start looking," Wormmon said, earning nods of agreement.
"Let's start by checking the pond though," Ren said as he stepped closer. Right on cue, a soft glow started to emanate from the bottom of the pond, visible through the water. "...jackpot," he couldn't help but say, as the glow became brighter, and the Digimental soon revealed itself.
It looked… well, ok, it looked like a water lily honestly, one with his crest imprinted on every petal.
Ren smiled a bit as he held a hand out, letting it drop into his palm "These certainly have rather unique shapes so far.
"Makes me wonder what mine is gonna look like." Pyrrha said in amusement.
"Let's see what this turns me into then," Wormmon chuckled, earning a nod from Ren who held up the Digimental.
(play Break Up!)
"Digimental Up!" he called out, his Digivice and the Digimental glowing.
The void appeared again as the Crest of Kindness appeared and began spinning as the Digimental began spinning on the right while Wormmon was spinning on the left. "Wormmon, Armor Evolution!" he called out as the three came together and overlapped, before a bright light came from Wormmon before turning into a storm of flower petals, Wormmon's silhouette visible within the storm as behind the scene, faded images of Stingmon, followed by JewelBeemon, and finally GrandisKuwagamon appeared, as Wormmon's silhouette changed, before the storm started to dissipate, revealing his new form.
His lower body was now much longer, and covered in light pink armor with short legs coming out of each section, a large purple stinger on the tip. The same armor covered his brand new arms and shoulders, with the hands looking like budding flowers that had three large purple claws coming out of each, the top of his head covered in a pink piece of armor that bore the Crest of Kindness, while his antennae were much longer and hanging in the front now, with four petals on his back acting like jet boosters that kept him afloat. "Blooming Kindness! Tetermon!"
Digimon Analyzer: Tetermon
Tetermon. Virus Type. An Armor Level Insect Digimon. A Wormmon that evolved through the power of the Digimental of Kindness, granting him power over plants, and enhances his natural insect abilities. Digimon that don the power of this Digimental will obtain the ability to release several types of spores from the petal like armor on their bodies. His special attacks are Mach Stinger, firing the stringer off his tail and regrowing it at high speed at the enemy, turning it into a rain of sharp objects, and Teter Spin, spinning his body to release the spores from his petals in all directions.
"How you liking the new form?" Gabumon asked in slight amusement.
"A bit odd, but I can work with this," Tetermon chuckled.
"Alright, now that we have the Digimental, let's help the others," Ren said, earning nods of agreement.
"Slight problem though, I think I can only carry one person," Tetermon said.
"In that case, you and Ren go ahead first. We'll catch up," Pyrrha said without hesitation.
"Alright," Ren nodded as he soon grabbed on to Tetermon's back, before he and his partner were flying off towards the fight.
Back to the fight...it was honestly more of a stalemate.
"Okay...so using multiple rings actually makes them stronger than normal, good to know," Veemon gulped.
"But it's also making him...unstable…" Pierce frowned. True enough, MasterTyranomon WAS holding them all off...but in a way that was more akin to a berserker, so much so the other members of the Siege Army were forced to back off in fear of getting caught in the crossfire.
"That both helps and hurts us," Rusty groaned as Vanguamon narrowly avoided another attack.
"For now let's just do what we always do. Smash those Rings!" Nefertimon said as she aimed another Rosetta Stone at MasterTyrannomon.
"Mach Stinger!" a new voice said, as Tetermon and Ren entered the scene, the stingers impacting against MasterTyrannomon and pushing him back a bit.
"Right on time you two!" Pierce grinned, seeing the new Digimon that was obviously Wormmon's Armor level.
"Had to look around a bit for the Digimental, but we're here now," Tetermon chuckled.
"What did we miss?" Ren asked.
"That guy over there put on three Crystal Rings. Turns out the buff stacks," Veemon said quickly. "Same plan as usual though."
"Got it," Tetermon nodded, before flying over MasterTyranomon after dropping Ren for a moment. "Teter Spin!" he called out, releasing the spores inside the petals which rained down on MasterTyranomon, causing him to start to move sluggishly.
"Take the shots now!" Ren shouted, to which the three Armors nodded.
"Mach Stinger!"
"Dead End Shot!"
"Nile Jewel!"
The three attacks hit the rings on MasterTyrannomon dead on, shattering them all into data fragments.
And like a puppet with their strings cut, MasterTyranomon collapsed to the ground in a heap, unconscious.
(End song)
"Well, that takes care of that." Ren sighed, before stumbling a bit as he felt the ground shake somewhat "And I think Gennai is done."
"All Resistance forces back through the gates! Come on people!" Nora shouted from Nefertimon's back, firing a grenade at the King's forces when they approached, though it was only a warning shot aimed at the ground in front of them to make them back away.
Before long, the ground around the resistance base started lifting up into the air, and with the camouflage system activated, it was like they disappeared into thin air as they began to move away, leaving the King's forces behind.
"That...went badly…" MasterTyrannomon groaned as he'd recovered from his little overdose.
"What now, sir?" one of the soldiers asked.
"For now? We return to base. This was a failure, but at least things can't get any worse," he sighed. He...really shouldn't have said that though.
Right on cue, his communicator started ringing, to which he answered...and was met with the...less than pleased face of the Digimon King. "Good day Commander. Might I take some of your time to ask regarding an apparent mission to attack the Resistance...one I don't recall ever authorizing," he asked pleasantly...but the undertone was anything but pleasant.
MasterTyrannomon gulped thickly, his expression going a bit...pale.
And there you go!
Now, obviously, if I forgot to say it, credit for a lot of the Armor Evolutions is NOT mine, it goes to neoarchangemon on DeviantArt, all I did was tweak some of the designs a bit.
Though, I have to say, posting this chapter was a bit of a hassle.
I think a glitch happened in the doc I use to write it, but I have NO clue how to fix it.
Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter, because...
The Adventure Evolves.
