Waking up once more in the new world Percy removed himself from his sleeping bag as Aang and Katara prepped Appa for the flight to the Southern Air Temple. "Wait till you guys see it, the Air Temple is one of the most beautiful places in the world." Aang said cheerfully as Katara reminded him a century has past since the airbender left home. "I know, but I need to see it for myself."
After gathering everything together the group flew sometime before tips of mountains greeted them as the clouds grazed Appas feet. "It's… peaceful here." Anima said, leaning on Percy's shoulders, admiring the view, that is until Sokka spoke.
"Be quiet stomach I'll feed you soon," the tribesman said, digging into his satchel, only to come empty handed with crumbs. "Who ate my jerky?"
Aang looked at his friend sheepishly "that was food, sorry Sokka I thought it was firewood."
Sokka opened his mouth only for his stomach to protest for him. Katara and Aang talked as Percy subconsciously waited for Zeus to strike them down. Suddenly Appa flew upwards, leaving the group to shout various curses, before straightening out as a building came into view.
"Welcome to the Southern Air Temple everyone." Aang patted his steed on the horn as Percy thought how Annabeth would love to see the spirling design of the monastery. After stretching, Percy tried to think of the sea instead of being on a mountain.
While Sokka complained about his stomach, Aang showed the group a field of sticks with a goal on with side of the field until he sighed. When Katara asked what was wrong he replied "It's… empty. This was full of monks, lemurs, and vision. But now, it's just weeds."
Percy muttered that time is a cruel master in Ancient Greek while Sokka cheered up the Avatar by asking him how to play the ball game. All three boys slid down the slope and raced to the game area as the girls rolled their eyes.
With Sokka and Percy against Aang, the girls slid after them, only for Sokka to fly into the snow.. With Percy, he kicked the ball and used the flat end of his sword to swing, however he too landed in the snow with Sokka.
Groaning, the demigods eyes landed on a Fire Nations helmet. "Katara, look." Sokka said, dusting the leaves and snow from his body. Aang walked over to the group, Katara bent the snow to hide the helmet, and the mens groaned as Anima chuckled. "You can't keep him safe forever sis." Sokka dud himself out, with Percy following him as the girl nodded.
Walking towards a statue the siblings spoke in whispers until Aang got their attention. "This Monk Gyatso, the greatest Air Bender in the world who taught me what I know." Aang said before bowing to the snow-covered statue, smiling as he rose.
Aang walked inside the building, saying he had to meet someone inside the Air Temple Sanctuary. Walking towards the end of a hallway, they were met with a huge wooden door, locked with horns and switches. Anima told the child that no one would be in there, alive for a century.
"I survived being frozen for a hundred years."
"That is true." Percy said as Sokka body slammed the door, in hopes of getting cured meat. It wasn't until Aang Air Bendt the hornes, turning the switches, and unlocking the door with a groan.
Walking in the room, they found statues spirling out from the walls. "Air, Water, Earth, and Fire, it's a cycle." Anima said, going backwards noticing a pattern with each cycle.
"That's the Avatar Cycle. But who are these people with them? It goes from the Fire Nation before my cycle, Earth Kingdom before that cycle, and so on." Aang asked, as Percy looked closely at the statues.
"Di Immortials, they're like me. They're-"
A horn interrupted the demigod as the group hid behind various statues as Sokka, Percy, and Anima summoned their weapons as the approaching shadow drew closer. Before they struck, Aang and Sokka both ran out trying to grab it.
"I want you as my pet!" and "I want to eat you!" could be heard throughout the empty hallway. The remaining members laughed at their antics as Katara shook her head in disbelief. Finally, Aang caught up with the flying lemur, and pulled a torn curtain, only to reveal the remains of FireNation troops with the skeleton of Gyatso.
Crying in agony and the loss of his teacher, Aang didn't hear Sokka until his gloved hand touched him, and he awoke in the Avatar State. Meanwhile the eyes of Avatar Roku glowed, as the others as the effect spiraled upward and Percy groaned in pain as flashes of battles of the demigods before him flooded his mind. "We need to get to Aang now." Anima said as she and the others rushed to their friend.
Shouting over the roaring winds, Sokka told the group that the Aang found out the truth about his people. "Do something before he blows us off the mountain."
"I don't want to get blown off again, but at least I'm not the cause this time!" Percy screeched as he and Anima clung to debris.
"Aang I know you're upset and how hard it is to lose your loved ones, Sokka and I went through the same thing when we lost our mom. Monk Gyatso and the other Air Nomads may be gone but you still have a family. Sokka, Percy, Anima, and I are your family now Aang." Her speech did wonders as Aang descended to the ground as the waterbender held his hand.
"If they found this one, then they found the other ones too. I really am the last Airbender." Aang said as Katara hugged him tightly as the skeletons around them started to slowly move.
"Bianca, this your doing?" Percy asked as he summoned his sword. The girl shook her head as a voice came from Gyatso.
"... son. Per… FISH BREATH! Thank the Gods, the connection is…."
"Nico? How are you able to talk?"
"Death is universale Fish Breath. Don't have time to talk. Wait, that aura… Bianca… Sorella! (Italian for sister)" The Ghost Kings voice flooded with emotion as another voice was brought in.
"What? Bianca?" The line was cut completely as a portal opened on the ground and rising was Hades. When the portal closed the Greecian God fell to his knees as his forms shifted from Greek, Roman, Aztec, Chinese, Japanese, and many others. "Children help." He cried until his form reverted back to his Greek form. "By Chaos, this is why we can't go between worlds." He muttered.
"Uncle." Percy bowed in respect as the deity walked past him and looked into Anima's eyes.
"Papà" Anima's voice was different as Hades hugged his daughter while in the form of another woman.
"Hello my daughter. While in this world, know that your brother, nother, and I still love you." Hades then kissed her forehead and whipped her tears from her cheeks.
"Don't go father." She muttered, hugging him tightly as he softly removed himself from her grasp.
"I need to, I'm sorry Bianca. You, Arrowboy, the monk has something he has to say to you." Aang and the others looked at him in surprise as Hades walked to the remains of Gyatso. Placing a hand over his wooden necklace, the God of the Underworld spoke in ancient Greek and soon, the ghost of Monk Gyatso reclaimed his body.
"Hello Aang. It seems you have made some new friends."
"Gyatso? How?" Tears ran down his cheeks as Aang walked over to hug his teacher.
"Your friend has some unique allies, young Avatar. Aang listen to me, you running away may have doomed us, but I believe it will save more lives than to take them. Never forget who you are: the last monk of the Southern Air Temple, the last Airbender of this world, but most importantly, the child who I proudly call my son. We are not forgotten Aang, we live inside you." As Gyatso finished, the souls of the monks gathered in the room and bowed to their surviving member.
Aang bowed to them with his and Bianca's tears wetting the dry earth.
I am sorry but this will be it for a while. I am taking a break because I have no ideas for future chapters and I am working on publishing a story on Amazon Kindle and to work on my other fanfics stories.
