World of Minecraftia

Chapter Four: The Situation Worsens

Back at Server Core Hospital Cody was looking into the paperwork from the lab results. It was clear now that it was a bio weapon which made things a lot more difficult. Because real war fair was rare in Minecraftia bio weapons, which had been out lawed centuries ago were rare. This meant that the development of countermeasures to these weapons were also rare. Thankfully there already a method they could use to counter it since they were quickly getting an understanding of how and it's similarity to various diseases.

However, this also meant that since it's been verified that it was the Ender Watchers who made it that also meant that they would be a part of the investigation now by law. With that being said the amount of evidence that an Ender Watcher had been on Hermitcraft was increasing by the hour. Investigation into how they've gotten access to the server even after a new guard had been put in place was on going but it still was a problem.

Thankfully Xisuma had placed a whole bunch of safe guards in place to ensure that no one else got infected though there have been many close calls. Thankfully the council had been smart and ordered that only those who needed to be aware of the situation were to be informed. Which meant no one outside of the whitelist of Hermitcraft, their families and all server administrators were aware of the Ender Watchers latest move. They had even left a ransom note at the scene of the crime saying that they would only give him the cure if the Hermits handed him over to him and he rejoined them.

However even knowing this he was still stumped on how this had happened. Not How Grian got infected but how the Ender Watchers got on to the server in the first place. Xisuma was a well-known server administrator for his efforts in keeping it safe and on top of that Hermitcraft it's self was a well know server for its divers player and rank population and there talented builders and red stoners. With that in mind Xisuma had done everything in his power to ensure that the server would be safe for them before moving his Hermits into the Hermitcraft season six server so it can't have been planted by the people who helped him make it.

Afterall the existence of the Ender Phantom would have been seen in the code by him. Even in the highly unlikely scenario that he had planted them himself it would have been seen in the code. The only other person who had any administrative authority on the server was locked up do to the fact that they had a high ranking black dreamon. Has a matter a fact if a Hermit planted it would have been seen it the server's history has well on files of its development. That meant that it was made on a different server or in the main world.

There was also the fact that Xisuma had many safe guards on it. So many in fact that it was impossible to get in without a whitelist card or a graylist card. Xisuma had proved this himself by letting Alpha Nine test it for themselves. Which made it more concerning that the Ender Watchers were able to get in the first place.

Has he made his way to the room that Grian had been moved to has a result of the situation Cody looked at the new paperwork again. The bioweapon was fast acting and had transformative properties. The lab had taken a sample of the virus that they had separated from Grian's DNA.

So far, the experiment to see how the virus effect DNA and other aspects of the body seemed to be going smoothly and they were gathering a lot of information on the bioweapon. More so then expected. That meant that they could have a cure sooner rather than later.

Opening the door, he found the nurse assigned to him on duty. "Doctor Maverick, I'm please to say that the patient is stable for now, but the medications only seem to be taking away the pain. At most I'd say we have a few weeks at most before it's complete."

"I know but we have to do what we can to stop this. Fortunately, the scientist wing is making quite a lot of progress in figuring out how the virus works. With that being said we should have a cure soon enough, but they still have aways to go before they can synthesize one. We have a few days to go at most until the doctors finish studying the virus. Which means that we should have a few months at most until they can make a cure at most." Cody informed the nurse with a frown.

"I see, I hope that they finish it in time to save him. We've only been able to stop the virus from going full speed through his body thanks to our knowledge of past bioweapons. Thank goodness this one isn't contagious or airborne it makes treating it easier than what it could have been. I overheard Doctor Pickalus say that he has an idea on how to neutralize it." The Nurse said in a hopeful tone.

Meanwhile on Hermitcraft Xisuma was supervising the evacuation of the server, due to the quickly increasing amount of Ender Phantoms on the servers, they had begun to infect other mobs which was making the council concerned in many ways. So, they had decided that any server with a high Ender Phantom spawn rate were to be evacuated immediately. Thankfully so far it appeared that Hermitcraft was the only server experiencing this problem.

He was also thankful that the server evacuation camp was ran by Lucid. So that meant that he would be in a safe place and could talk to her about the situation with the Dream SMP easier. They had a meeting with the department of administrative server assistance later that day has well has a second meeting with the council of administrators.

He stood in his administrative office at the portal entrance looking over various screens has Hermits quickly packed their things and made their way to the portal. However, on one screen there was some code. Someone was trying to keep them in the server but thankfully Xisuma was doing quite well at keeping the portal open.

Thankfully he was able to keep the portal opened long enough for his Hermits to escape from the server before the Ender Watchers symbol appeared, closing it off. Outside the gate that surrounded the portal a bus was waiting for them.

"Alright everyone, get on the bus and we will move to the core server. Please enter the bus in a calm and peaceful manner has it will make this evacuation easier. Also please make sure to call your families to let them know that you have safely evacuated. We will be taking role when we get to the camp so please make sure to make that call while where enroute." Xisuma called out from the front of the bus.

The bus ride was filled with people making calls, reading a book, talking with the other Hermits or similar activities. It was about an hour drive from the server to the evacuation camp. For Xisuma it was an hour of communicating with the council and answering questions from family members of the Hermits.

When they got to the camp the driver called for them to disembarked. In front of a large village like area, a woman was waiting for them. She had blond hair what was held back by a black handkerchief, her skin was an alabaster tone with blue eyes shining like sapphire in the sunlight. She wore a dark purple dress that had matching black trimmings on her long skirt and black cuffs with white buttons on them.

The woman stepped forward with a smile and greeted the new arrivals. "Hello everyone, my name is Lucid Wastaken, and I am the owner of this camp. You're here because your server has become too dangerous to live on for the time being. During your time here you will be required to get at least one parttime job though there are benefits for those who take a full time one. You will also be expected to cooperate with the investigation into the event that cause your server to be evacuated. I will now show you to the cabin that you will be staying in. I will also introduce you to the caretaker for your cabin. Please follow me." Lucid smiled has she escorted the hermits to their temporary home.

The cabin was a large wooden house made of a mix of dark and regular oak wood. There was a few windows two bedrooms, a few bathrooms, a kitchen, laundry room, a closet room and a dining room, a pantry and a storge room. It wasn't the most comfortable place, but it was enough to last them awhile.

Outside was another woman who was wearing a purple dress under a white dress apron. She had brown hair and blue eyes. "Everyone this is Serena Embers, she will be your cabin's caretaker during your stay here for now. Your cabin number is cabin 9, I hope that you and my friend will get along. Xisuma meet me in the office after your done getting everyone settled in." Lucid smiled.

Serena smiled happily and gave a pleasant hand bow. "Hello everyone, has Madam Lucid explained my name is Serena Embers and I will be your caretaker while you're here. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Please follow me into the cabin and I will show you around.

The group smiled and followed the woman into the cabin. "Here on the ground floor your will find the kitchen and dining room as well has a living and laundry room. You will also find your beds upstairs has well has a closet room. Curfew is 8:00pm to 6:00am and quite hours are from 10:00pm and 7:00pm. In the chest beside your bed, you will find a map of the camp for your convenience has well has the keys to this cabin and a rule book. Replacements for each of these can be brought at the camp store but will cost you 5 diamonds. Other items can be brought there has well a list of which can be found in your store guide book. Food is delivered on a monthly basis to each cabin, depending on the amount of work your cabin dose and how well you all follow the camp rules you will be given bigger rations. This is to encourage people to follow the rules we've set up here. Anyone caught breaking major rules will be sent to the detainment wing of the camp. So please follow the rules while you're here." Serena smiled gently after making sure that everyone was settled in for the time being she left to fill out her paperwork for the day.

When he was sure that everyone had finished unpacking the items they had brought with them he made his way to the camp's main office. Being a friend of Lucid and having visited her several times since the day she started running the camp he knew his way around well enough to get by without a map. Arriving at the main office in no less than twenty minutes he opened the door that lead to the office floor of the house opening the door he saw a waiting room filled with various activities for the patrons to occupy there time with while they waited for their turn to meet with Lucid thankfully there was no one else in line and Lucid had already told her secretary about her planed meeting with them. The secretary nodded and allowed Xisuma into the office quickly after his arrival.

The office was make of hardened light blue terracotta made and the floors were made of oak wood but were covered with a purple and black carpet in a simple yet elegant design. Her desk was also made of dark oak with a dark purple table cloth over it.

Lucid sat at her desk with a forced smile on her face just has she had earlier today. Xisuma wasn't surprised at all at this. He'd known Lucid since they were children and knew how much she cared about her two siblings. They were her only family left after all, so it wasn't a surprise that she was trying her best to find out what happened to the Dream SMP.

Xisuma could remember the day her parents died. It was an "accident" or at least that's what their neighbors wanted them to believe but their story didn't even last a second before witnesses claimed otherwise. They were the ones to burn the house down has it turned out. Thankfully Lucid was out taking Dream and Drista out for ice cream to let them have some time to themselves so they weren't caught in the fire.

"Hello Xisuma, I think you know why I called you here." Lucid smiled gently at her longtime friend. Xisuma smiled and sat down. They both knew that this wasn't going to be a pleasant conversation but it to be done, they both knew that the other had some information that they needed to share with one another and potentially other admins.

Lucid decided to go first. "I think that we can both agree that the timing of the appearance of the Ender Phantoms was no coincidence." She stated in a cool and professional tone. Xisuma nodded knowing that she was right.

"It's too coincidental, the night after we told the council of our suspicions about the ender watchers and they send a weapon which spies said was being developed into my server. Not to mention they attempted the same here. There's something connecting this to the Dream SMP case but I can't figure out what it is. But there's something else that bothers me." Xisuma frowned.

Lucid clicked her tongue having a good guess what it was. "It's the fact that it appears that they sent the Ender Phantom directly to Grian first, right?" Xisuma nodded in response knowing that Lucid was right.

"There planning something, something big, even the council is worried I spoke to them earlier today when I made the call to evacuate the server. They've set out a bounty on the ender phantoms for trained hunters and are drafting scientist to research them. Doc thinks that he might get called in soon. Some of his researching friends already including Pickalus have already been called on." Xisuma informed the camp overseer

"I see, I heard that Alpha Nine might be called in to investigate the Dream SMP case. They don't have enough evidence to say that they are involved yet but Alpha Four is investigating the matter with our suspicions in mind. They have agreed to call Alpha Nine in the event that they find evidence that connects the Ender Watchers to the case." Lucid replied with a frown.

"Alpha four huh, aren't they that group that escaped another Ender Watcher related incident?" Xisuma frowned in thought. Lucid nodded and gave a quick thanks to her personal assistance who had delivered some tea for the conversation.

"Yes, while originally it was the main police department that was handling this case the council of Administrators thought that it might be wise to have people who have witnessed the Ender Watchers work first hand so they know what to look for so they can see if the Ender Watchers are really involved." Lucid explained with a frown.

Alpha Four was known as Remnant's Survivors another task force like Alpha Nine. They were an investigative combat taskforce that handled cases with a high chance of fighting from a criminal group. They were well known for their being one of the groups who survived the infamous Dead Crafting incident of 4015. There was one more group like that, but the two groups didn't have any connection to each other outside of stopping the maker of the virus that had caused the server to turn into an apocalypse zone.

"Speaking of Alpha Four their sister unit Alpha two is being sent to my server. The council said that it would be for the best to have a squad experienced in mass virus extermination to take care of that part of the case." Xisuma mentioned with a frown.

"Smart choice by the council as per usual. But we're getting off topic, we need to think about what our next move is in regard to the Dream SMP. More importantly how to get back into contact with Dream." Lucid smiled happily.

Just has Xisuma was about the reponed there was a knock at the door. A voice on the other side called out, "Department of Server Assistance, Office of Draemons Records and Regulation." Lucid and Xisuma frowned.

Dreamons were creatures that variedly widely in nature. Some were good and helpful to their host while others were harmful to their host in a verity of ways. Many others where a mix of both. Each draemon was put into a category depending on their actions.

The ones that didn't harm people and helped them instead were called Pure Draemons. They were known to be friendly and non-hostile unless they saw someone connected to their host or their host themselves being hurt.

Impure draemons were the ones in between not all their actions were good and not all of them were bad. Then there were corrupted draemons. They were the dangerous ones, the type that were willing to hurt their host if it meant that they would get there way.

They were known to hurt or kill people their host is or isn't connected to in order to get there way and in some cases impersonate their host while doing so. Many people who have been connected to these corrupted draemons have paid for exorcist to remove the connection for their own good.

A few of the Hermits had delt with a corrupted draemons. The most notable being Scar being a Hermit of 2 seasons was the only one on the server to survive having a connection with a rank 5 corrupted draemon and survive the after effect without an exorcism.

Has for Lucid on the other hand she was worried. While it wasn't uncommon for Office of Draemons records and regulation to pay a visit to the camp it was normally to the person they needed to do business with themselves rather than going to Lucid first.
