Author's Note: Words – broccoli, freeze, soccer, solitaire, and chess. Enjoy, you evil person.

She wasn't much of a person for broccoli. They give you gas she always said to me with a small smile playing at the corner of her lips. That night she had some, I really don't know why, because she obviously didn't like it. But she grinned and she kissed me lightly saying that she knew I liked it and that was all that mattered.

--------------------------------------------------

It's freezing out here she says, her arms slip around you as you kiss her forehead gently. Are you afraid? you ask and she glances at you quizzically wondering why you would ask such a silly question. She snorts lightly, of the cold? You smile in response because she's never afraid. She isn't afraid to love you, and to tell you that she loves you, and she isn't afraid to let you see what she's like beneath her haughty attitude and messy hair. Because she has that courage that you know you should have but debate on whether you do or not.

--------------------------------------------------

You're kicking around a soccer ball with her, the night is cold and you think it's going to rain soon. She kicks the ball to you, laughing as it hits you square on the head. You're on the ground now, and she's resting your body gently on her lap. That wasn't very nice you say, a slight pout gracing your features. She doesn't say anything, her eyes looking deep into yours. So pretty she mumbles. And you smile.

---------------------------------------------------

Solitaire or chess? she asks. Hmm… chess, you grin in response, knowing she'll never beat you. She whips out a board, scattering out all the pieces into separate black and white piles. You start off the game as white.

Pawn out. And then another.

She squeals as she moves her knight out. You blink slowly not questioning her odd behavior. An hour into the game you take her queen.

I can't believe I've lasted this long.

Practice makes perfect, remember?

She glances up, you've never practiced.

And you smile.
