Chapter 1: The Email

They had done it. After so long, Danny had finally said his feelings to Sam. He gave her the ring. She sheds a tear in joy.

"Sam, I could never have done any of this without you. And I don't care what's coming next I just hope that whatever it is, you're there to share it with me. " Danny said.

"I will be. I just have to warn you, I'm no push over you know. I still have my own way of doing things." Sam said.

"That's what I'm counting on." Danny said.

The two shared a kiss, both happy to finally be free to express their feelings for each other.

Finally… a happy ending. Danny thought before pulling away.

"What do you say, wanna go for a ride? See where the future takes us?" Danny asks as he got up.

"Why not?" Sam responds before Danny morphs and takes her in his arms. As they fly up, they saw Amity Park's tribute to Danny Phantom. "Cool statue... Personally, I would have made it out of recycled materials but, you know, that's just me. "

They flew above the city, hoping for a great future together.

Little did they know, Danny's troubles were far from over.

In fact, in many ways, by saving the Earth from an asteroid... they had just started...

Elsewhere, in Kentucky

It was around the same time when the rest of the world saw the tribute to who saved them.

From a giant asteroid that nearly destroyed them but thanks to a certain ghost kid, they were saved.

In a home in a rural part of Kentucky, a slovenly dressed bald man was watching the news as it happened.

"Citizens of Amity Park and of the world. As the youngest mayor in Amity Park history it's my great honor to present this commemorative statue honoring the hero who bravely saved us all. Danny Phantom. An exact duplicate of this statue stands proudly in the capital of every nation of the world. And each will stand for as long as we have our world, because thanks to Danny Phantom we still have one." The mayor, a teenager, said as the crowds cheered.

A man watched and scoffed at this as he held a bottle in his hand.

"A teenager as mayor? That there's the most unbelievable thing of all..." He said with a Southern accent.

The man then took a sip, only to hear something breaking.

He frowned as he quickly grabbed a shotgun.

"If yer a bear, yer joinin' my wall! If yer a thief, yer stil joinin'!" He warned.

He took his weapon and held it, ready for the intruder.

However, once he saw who broke into his home, he dropped his gun and gasped in horror. He immediately ran out of his home.

"THEY'RE BACK! THEY'RE BACK!" He screamed as he ran out of his home and called out, but there was no answer.

Something came out of the hallway. Or rather, some things came out, five of them with glowing eyes that illuminated where they were looking in the dark.

One of the creatures noticed the report on the television and saw something that got it's attention.

"Krgrkoowooroo..." The creature let out as it saw the statue of Danny Phantom.

This caught the attention of its allies, as they all huddled around the television, intrigued.

A month later, in Amity Park

Everyone made some changes since the Disasteroid incident.

While many things changed for the better, however, things were far from truly better.

Tucker Foley, the former placeholder mayor, was still upset that he was kicked out of office and while the Fentons did gain more respect and credibility due to their efforts to save the world, a lot of people still saw them as crazy and tried to avoid talking to them.

Last but not least, Danny and Sam, while now a couple, were not having as much fun together as they thought.

The two were walking down the street, not holding hands, just looking eager to have some kind of fun.

This ending isn't as happy as I thought it would be... Danny thought, feeling awkward.

"So… wanna… catch a movie? Femalien Restoration is playing tonight." Sam suggests.

Danny sent a face.

"Didn't we see that last week?" He asks.

"And I want to keep seeing it so sales get better." Sam said.

"Oh…" Danny went.

"Something wrong?" Sam asks.

"Yeah… sorry, but I kind of… didn't like the first one…" Danny admits.

The goth girl frowned in frustration before sighing.

"So… I guess we could check out the bookstore?" Sam suggests.

"Sure…" He said.

They soon arrived to the nearest book store.

"Awesome, the new Nightmarica novel came out!" Sam said with her hands on it and a big grin.

"Uh… cool…" Danny said as he looked around before seeing something. "No way…"

"What?" Sam asks.

Danny picked up a book on the shelf, he grinned as he picked it up.

"Aliens Around the World?" He asked as he opened it and his smile grew.

Sam rose an eyebrow.

"Danny, you've seen literal monsters from another dimension. Are aliens really that big for you?" She asks.

"Uh… yeah." He said.

Sam gave a look before shrugging and rolling her eyes.

"You've always had your head in space…" She mutters.

Danny's smile drops.

"You say that so negatively..." He said.

Why aren't we having as much fun as we thought? He thought.

"Hey, Fenturd!" He heard Dash call out.

Danny groaned. They saw the A-List entering the bookstore.

"We better hide…" He said.

''Yeah..." Sam agreed, not wanting to deal with Dash.

The two tried to sneak out.

Before they could, someone approached Dash as he entered.

"Dash, get lost." Valerie said with her hands at her hips.

"Out of my way, loser…" Dash said.

''Yeah, we had a whole day planned, then Dash's date ruined it and since we saw Fenton and his loser girlfriend, he figured that this would be the perfect way to feel better..." Paulina said snobbishly.

"Do you really need to be rude to her?" Star asks.

"Star, she's not one of us anymore." Paulina said.

Star frowned, not exactly comfortable with this since Valerie was still her friend.

"So a girl dumped you and you're gotta take it out on Danny?" Valerie questioned.

Dash scoffed.

"Cha!" He said.

"How not spiteful…" Valerie snarked. "I can't believe I was ever friends with you."

''Now step aside, so I can relieve some stress..." Dash said, cracking his knuckles.

"Security!" Valerie called out as one man approached.

"Excuse me…" The security guard said, approaching the A-listers.

''What?" Dash asked harshly before realizing who it was who spoke.

"Please give a good explanation why you were cracking your knuckles..."The guard said, glaring down at the cowering football star..

Danny and Sam then watched as Dash was escorted away while the A-listers decided to leave as to avoid further trouble..

"That was close…" Danny said.

"Yeah…" Sam said.

That's when Valerie, who just spotted them, approached with a smile.

"You okay?" She asks.

"Definitely, thanks." Danny said.

Valerie smiled.

"Don't thank me…" She inches closer and whispers. "Just returning the favor for saving the world…"

Danny gasps and looks around, relieved nobody was close enough to hear them. He lets out a breath in relief.

"Valerie…"

"I know, I know. We all promised at the Pole to keep quiet about what we saw. Don't worry…" Valerie said with a smile before walking away.

Despite it all, Danny had a small smile.

Thank goodness she's not so keen on payback anymore... He thought before turning to Sam.

"So, what now?" Danny asks.

"Actually… I think we should… call it a day." Sam said, not really that eager to spend the day with Danny anymore.

The ghost boy sighed a bit.

"Oh… okay…" Danny said, feeling down.

"I think I'll.. just head to the Skulk and Lurk, since I know you're not too keen there." Sam said with a shrug before going..

''I'll see you later..." He said with a small wave.

As he was about to go, he took another look at the book and smiled.

May as well buy it… He thought.

As he did and left, he started reading a chapter. One involving certain creatures in Kentucky.

An hour later

The ghost boy had just returned home after spending his time reading his book, mostly to get over how his date didn't go according to plan..

At least I'm home... He thought semi-bitterly as he phased into his house.

Once there, he changed forms and was greeted by his parents.

"There he is." Jack said, having gotten used to his son's powers.

"Hey, you guys..." Danny said.

"Hi, Sweetie. How was your date with Sam?" Maddie asked.

"It… barely happened. We called it quits early." Danny shrugged.

Both of them frowned at that.

"Oh dear…" She said.

"It's fine… I guess." Danny admits.

It's kind of a lie but he doesn't want to worry them.

His parents shared a look and Jack suddenly grinned at an idea.

"I know what'll cheer you up! Let's order pizza! I'll go do it online!" Jack went.

''Okay, Dad..." Danny said as his dad went to the computer.

"Is everything okay?" Maddie asks.

"I don't know. I thought that… when Sam and I became a couple, it'd be smooth sailing. But, lately, it feels like a dull drift." He admits.

Maddie felt sorry for him and tried to be sympathetic.

"I mean, you two did everything together, you must've realized something that made you want to be with her?" Maddie questioned.

"Yeah… we hung out, we had fun, we stood up for each other…" Danny said.

His mother did not see much of a romance blossoming with what he said.

"That… doesn't really sound all that… romantic, to be honest." Maddie said. "Danny… are you-"

"NO WAY!" Jack was suddenly heard shouting.

Both Danny and Maddie panicked as they ran upstairs to the master bedroom, where Jack was at the computer.

"Jack, what is it?!" Maddie asked urgently.

He had been at his computer and is now pointing to the screen dramatically.

"I just got this email...looks like someone out of town is having some trouble..." Jack said as he pointed to the screen.

"E-mail?" Danny asked.

"I set up an email for people out of town who need help from the Fentons… which only really blew up after we announced that we're working with Danny Phantom…" Jack admits, sounding a bit down at that last part. "Still…" He cheered up. "Check it out!"

Danny and Maddie approached and saw the screen. They read it.

"Hello, my name is Professor Christian David.

I received your email from a mutual friend who assures me you are equipped to deal with my problem. I believe you may have interest in this beyond any compensation I am willing to pay for your help.

For the past 6 months, my home has been harassed by beings that I have come to believe is of extraterrestrial origin.

They actively attempt to enter my home and steal anything from my home they can find. Last month, my dog has gone missing, and I believe these creatures are responsible.

The police refuse to send any assistance. They continually try to convince me the events are caused by wild animals. I have no friends sympathetic enough to help me try to capture these creatures, though I cannot blame them.

The creatures that have been attacking me are silver in color, with large saucer-like eyes that glowed yellow, and long ears. They resembled the purported appearance of the infamous "Goblins" from the Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter.

I believe they've been coming from a nearby mine and see no other solution but to close the mine.

Please inform me what information you need and where to send it.

Thank you again..."

It was one part that caught Danny's mind.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter? He thought.

While Jack seemed excited, Maddie dismissed it.

"Now Jack, this is clearly a prank or a hoax.." Maddie said, not buying it.

"But Maddie, someone needs help! Plus, we got a superhero son, we'll be fine!" Jack argued.

"Jack, this is clearly someone sending us a ridiculous story. This has nothing to do with ghosts...besides, there's no such thing as aliens..." Maddie said skeptically.

Danny and Jack both looked at her nonplussed.

"You built things to hunt ghosts before ever seeing one, your son has ghost powers and you adopted his gender-swapped clone… but aliens are hard to accept?" Jack questioned.

While the husband and wife talked over this, Danny looked at the email again, having gotten interested in it.

The Kentucky Goblins? Are they real? He thought.

He had heard of the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter and other reported alien sightings, part of his love for space.

In fact, the email sounded very familiar, reminding him of a little known case that was theorized to have been these same creatures.

There's aliens on Earth? He thought with some interest.

As his parents were now on the other side of the room, arguing on the existence of aliens like they do Santa, Danny quietly forwarded the email to himself.

On the slim chance this isn't a hoax… I gotta know for sure.

Those who know what I do on DeviantArt know I've been doing posters of Danny battling non-ghostly entities. After some time, and some convincing from some friends, I decided to start making them stories.

I might call this series "Danny Phantom vs The Paranormal", as Danny isn't just fighting ghosts here.

The email part is based on the email sent by a man, whose name I changed despite that it might have been a pseudonym, sent to paranormal investigator, Greg Newkirk. Like Maddie here, Greg assumed it was a joke email since he's a ghost hunter. The man in question claimed he was harassed by similar creatures.

I'm also going to try and avoid using the real life names of the people involved with the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter, even though most of them are dead at this point.

Anyway, special thank you to Flower princess11 for helping me, especially with the scenes Sam was in.
