Back in Detroit, Issac and Bulkhead were just about almost done with their space bridge. Optimus and Ratchet were busy checking out the monitors to make sure no Decepticons were in the area. Bumblebee and Sari were playing another board game to occupy themselves. Prowl was just leaning against the wall, staring out into the horizon. The team was really excited to try out their new space bridge to Cybertron. They hoped that the Cybertron Elite Guard would approve of the project as well.
"I sure hope Ultra Magnus approves of our space bridge project." Ratchet said. "I'm certain he will. He's the most reasonable Autobot I know." Optimus said. "And how many reasonable Autobots have you met?" Prowl asked.
Just then, the monitors picked up a signal from outer space. Ratchet pressed a button to pick up the signal to see who or what was trying to contact them. He traced the signal to an unknown location in space and turned on the screen to see what it was. Suddenly, a gruff Autobot appeared on the screen.
"This is Sentinel Prime, commander of the Elite Guard." He said. "This is Optimus Prime of the Earth-bound Autobots." Optimus said. "So...how's this space bridge project of yours going?" Sentinel asked snarkingly. "We're just about almost done." Optimus said. "We were also going to contact Ultra Magnus to inform him of our progress." Ratchet said.
But Sentinel wasn't impressed with their work. He never had any kind of respect for Optimus or his team and thought that they were just a lowly space bridge repair crew, even though they've proven themselves by fighting Decepticons and saving lives.
"Ultra Magnus has more important things to do than speak to a bunch of organic-loving bots like you. Sentinel out." Sentinel said as he ceased contact with the team.
The group was angry over the Elite Guard commander's remarks. They hated the way he looked down on them.
"You'd think by now Sentinel would've started appreciating us for our victories over Megatron and his lackeys." Bumblebee said. "Some things never change." Bulkhead said. "...and we are finished at last!" Issac said. "Now to test the space bridge."
He flipped the switch and quickly ran down the stairs to his daughter's side as the space bridge began to turn on. Everyone watched in awe as the space bridge began to activate.
Back in Jasper, Optimus and his team were at their base taking a break from patrolling for any Decepticon activity. Bulkhead and Wheeljack were telling Smokescreen and Miko stories about their time in the Wreckers, Arcee and Bumblebee were also conversing with their human partners. Optimus and Ratchet were checking the monitors for any sign of the disturbance in the system.
"So, Ratchet. Did you find anything wrong with the groundbridge?" Nikita asked. "The scanners indicate something wrong with the groundbridge, but I can't seem to find out what it is." Ratchet said.
He pressed a few buttons hoping that he'd find the solution to fix it. But nothing he did was working. The disturbance didn't seem to disappear, it just stayed where it was.
"Something's not right." Ratchet said. "Is there something wrong, Ratchet?" Optimus asked. "This disturbance is getting worse and it appears to be getting stronger." Ratchet said. "Can't you try to fix it?" Nikita asked. "I'm not sure anything I'm doing can solve this problem." Ratchet said.
Back in Detroit, Issac and Bulkhead had just activated their new space bridge. Just as they were about to enter the portal to Cybertron, the radar started to pick up another disturbance. This caused Ratchet some great concern, as well as Optimus's too.
"Something's not right." He said. "Ratchet? Is there something wrong?" Optimus asked. "My scanners indicate a disturbance in the systems, but I can't seem to figure out what it is." Ratchet said.
Prowl sensed that there was something wrong during the test run, but he wasn't sure if he should intervene or not. Sari and Bumblebee were too busy playing their board game to even notice anything wrong. Issac and Bulkhead were just about to start the space bridge, unaware of the situation.
Back in Jasper, Ratchet was trying to find out what's wrong with their groundbridge. Raf and Bumblebee walked over to see what was going on with their friend. They had no idea what was going on and neither did the others.
"What's happening?" Jack asked. "The disturbance seems to be getting worse!" Ratchet shouted. "What kind of disturbance?" Raf asked. "Can't you do something?" Miko asked. "I don't think he can." Bulkhead said.
Suddenly, the groundbridge began to activate, to everyone's surprise. None of them touched the activation button and they can't seem to wrap their heads around this crisis.
"Did you activate the groundbridge, Ratchet?" Raf asked. "Certainly not! I don't know what's happening!" Ratchet said, worried. "Should we call Agent Fowler?" Nikita asked.
Back in Detroit, Issac had activated the space bridge in order to reach Cybertron. Everyone stood back as the machine began to activate with the portal opening. The team cheered as they believed that the space bridge was fully operational. But then, something went horribly wrong as the portal began to malfunction.
"Dad! What's going on?!" Sari asked her father. "I'm not sure! We did everything right." Issac said. "This isn't how the space bridge is supposed to act!" Bulkhead shouted. "Everyone, stand back! It's gonna blow!" Ratchet shouted.
Suddenly, a bright light began to flash from the space bridge as the team began engulfed in it. Back in Jasper, a similar situation was happening at Autobot HQ. Everyone stared in complete shock as the groundbridge started malfunctioning.
"Ratchet! Do something!" Ultra Magnus shouted. "I don't know what!" Ratchet shouted. "What's happening?!" Nikita shouted. "{Raf! I'm scared!}" Bumblebee beeped frighteningly. "I'm scared too!" Raf said.
Then suddenly, a flash of bright light engulfed the room. After a few seconds, the light had disappeared and everything was back to normal. The team didn't know what had happened: it all happened so fast. There also appeared to be no damage of any kind as the space bridge returned to normal.
"What was that all about?" Bumblebee asked. "I'm not sure, but we can't take any chances." Optimus said.
He slowly walked towards the space bridge to see if he could still reach Cybertron. But as Optimus got closer, he was suddenly face-to-face with an alternate version of himself! The other Optimus was just as surprised as he was.
"Wh...who are you?" He asked himself. "It would appear that I am you from another universe." The other Optimus said. "You're me? From another world?" Optimus asked.
Then, Nikita appeared from behind him and soon found herself in between the two versions of her Autobot friends. They were really surprised by the fact that she was hanging out in an alternate world with other versions of themselves.
"Nikki? What are you doing with them?" Sari asked. "Hey, guys. I know this is strange and all. So...we should probably sit down and let me explain everything." Nikita said. "Could this day get any weirder?" Bumblebee asked.
Suddenly, an alternate version of himself appeared from behind Optimus.
"You just had to ask, didn't you?" Prowl asked. "Me and my big mouth." Bumblebee said.
