After Alex left she headed for Molly's, she needed a drink. Alex entered the almost empty bar and took a seat in front of her Uncle. "Hey Alex. What can I do you for?" Hermann threw the towel he had in his hands over his shoulder.

"Cranberry and Tito's vodka." Alex felt her phone vibrate. She slipped it out of her pocket and see it was Kelly. She let out a groan and slammed her phone face down on the bar. "Make it a double."

Hermann could see his niece was hurting but he wasn't sure what to say. He poured her drink and sat it in front of her. "What's bothering you kid?"

"Stella showed up at Kelly's." Alex lifted the glass up to her lips and took a big gulp.

"Oh and that's bad?"

Alex loved her uncle but sometimes he could be completely clueless. "She came onto Kelly and he turned her down." Alex finished her drink and slid the glass over to her uncle. "He kept saying he needed to protect me. That I needed his help. Nothing has changed."

"Have you tried talking to Kelly about these things?" Hermann slid her another drink.

"Well no not yet." Alex took a slip of her drink. "I wanted to calm down because if I tried to talk to him while I'm this heated, it wouldn't be good."

Hermann cracked a smile "Maybe the two of you grew apart?"

Alex stared at her uncle with a blank expression, she hadn't thought about that. What if Kelly and her were only meant to be friends? What if this was what she needed to be able to move on? She sighed and finished her drink.

"Is it alright if I crash on your couch?"

"Of course it is. I'll be closing soon so you can ride home with me." Alex went to protest but her Uncle gave her a look. She knew this look all to well, it meant there was no room for discussion.

Hermann made his niece a couple more drinks before they were finally headed home. Alex laid her head against the glass of the passenger seat. Her mind swimming in thoughts and different scenarios.

Alex hadn't meant too but she fell asleep, and Hermann didn't want to wake her so he carried her into the house. Cindy was reading when the two of them walked through the door. She got up, helping Hermann put Alex on the couch.

"Her and Severide are at there old ways." Cindy nodded understanding what her Husband was saying.

"Bet they are talking by lunch tomorrow." Cindy said as she was tucking Alex in.

Hermann chuckled. "I'm betting before 10am they will talking." Cindy smiled and the two of them headed upstairs to bed.

When Alex woke up the next morning her head was pounding and her stomach was upset. Cindy was just waiting for her niece to wake up before heading into the room. She placed a plate of eggs, bacon, and a biscuit with her.

She placed the food, bottle of tylenol, and a glass of orange juice on the table. "Here you go dear."

Alex sat up on the edge of the couch "Thank you Aunt Cindy."

"You're welcome dear." Cindy headed back into the kitchen, leaving Alex to eat her breakfast. Her aunt new exactly what she needed when she woke up with a hangover.

Alex isn't proud of this but, Kelly and her came over a few times drunk when they were in high school. Kelly would stay because his dad would kill him if he came home drunk.

Hermann and Cindy never really said to much about it. It had only happened a few times and each time Uncle Hermann went to there rescue. That was there only rule, if you drink you call us to pick you up, and Alex did exactly that.

Alex finished her food, she took a couple tylenol, before heading to the kitchen to put her dirty plate in the sink. "How are you doing sweetheart?"

Alex took in her aunts appearance, flour on her cheek and a pan of cookies before her. This is Cindy Hermann in typical fashion, always baking something. "I don't know Aunt Cindy. I'm starting to wonder if coming back was a good idea."

"Why wouldn't it be good?"

"I left because Kelly was too overbearing."

"Kelly loves you dear. He just wanted to look out for you."

Alex shivered at 'Kelly Loves you.' because it wasn't the same way she loved him. "I know, but at one point does he need to step back?"

"That's up to you two. If he's still suffocating you then tell him. He may not of realized what he has been doing."

"You make it sound so easy."

Cindy groaned. "It is that easy Alex. I love you dear but your generation is so afraid to say something. A relationship of any kind only works if there is communication." Cindy walked to Alex, placing her hands on either shoulder. "How do you think your uncle and me have stayed together?"

Alex couldn't help but smile, she understood what her Aunt meant. Her uncle her have amazing communication "You're right Aunt Cindy."

"Okay now go talk to him. And remember sometimes Kelly can be a little thick headed."

Alex nodded and headed into living room to grab her keys. She then walked to the door and looked outside. But there was a problem, her car wasn't there.

"Aunt Cindy?"

"Yes dear?"

"How did I get home last night?"

"Your uncle. why?"

Alex walked into the kitchen and turned on her classic innocent voice. "Can you take me to get my car?"

Cindy giggled, "Come on."

Cindy grabbed her keys and the two of them headed to Molly's.
