Chapter 42 – The Soldier

Walking into the Chancellor's office, Weiss approached him in slight caution, "You wanted to see me?" she asked.

"Yes," Chancellor Sheppard, "Don't worry, you're not in trouble."

"Well, of course. I'm not like friends who…never mind," Weiss responded, then cleared her throat. "But why am I here? You called me in the middle of a class."

"I wanted to inform you as soon as I could," Chancellor Sheppard said with a smile, "Your sister won the Kaiba World Tournament and will be participating in the final duel in Domino City's Duel Dome."

"S-she won!?" Weiss responded before crossing her arms, holding her head high, "I mean, of course she won! Winter is the best duelist I know." The heiress Obelisk Blue said before looking back to Chancellor Sheppard, "Still, why call me here to tell me that?"

"To give you even better news." Chancellor Sheppard said, "I spoke with her on a joint call with the pro league and the Kaiba Corporation." He said before a smile formed on his face, "And we agreed on a short learning experience for a few students." With those words, Weiss gasped before a smile formed on her face.

Afterschool hours.

In the Slifer Red Dorm after school, the gang gathered around the white heiress, "We're going to Domino City," Weiss spoke with her head high, "You can all say thank you now."

"Huh?" Jaden commented.

"What are you talking about?" Chazz added.

"My sister invited me and my friends to an all-expenses-paid trip to watch the final duel of the Kaiba World Tournament tomorrow night." Weiss answered, "No need to worry about classes, those are covered."

"Nice, sounds like fun." Yang responded, "Who's your sister dueling anyway?"

"I don't know, but who cares?" Weiss responded, "Winter will win."

"If I recall, you won a minor division of this tournament before coming to Duel Academy," Alexis commented, "And your prize was a Duel with Seto Kaiba."

"Yes…" Weiss responded, recalling the unfavorable outcome of that match, "But if it was Winter against him, I'm sure she'll win."

"Oh, what if it's the King of Games?" Ruby asked, "I think that was a prize for one of the other tournaments the Kaiba Corporation held."

"S-she'll win," Weiss said in slight hesitation, then cleared her throat, "But first, we need to pack our things. A private jet will be landing here soon to take us to the city."

"Weiss, I'm happy for you." Blake answered, "But, can we leave the island now? I mean, we still don't know anything about this new threat."

"All of you can go," the group turned to see Sienna approaching, "I'll be staying back to investigate what I can." She said before crossing her arms, "If anything does happen, I feel more confident taking it on myself without worrying about my student's safety."

"Thanks, Teach," Jaden responded with a smirk, "Just don't do anything reckless." He said with her smirking back.

"Thank you, that means a lot," Weiss said to Sienna, then looked over the group, but noticed a few members were still not here, "Wait where are Atticus, Tyranno, and Nora?"

"Oh, those three got in an eggwich eating contest," Yang answered, "And then got food poisoning. So, I think they're going to be staying back this time."

"Okay," Weiss responded before looking to the group as a whole, "Then, who wants to come along?"

"Count me in!" Ruby answered first.

"Me too," Jaden added on, "This sounds like fun."

"Of course, the Slaker will take any opportunity to get out of schoolwork." Chazz answered, "Still, I'm coming too."

"I'll go," Alexis added, looking over to Jaden, "If only to make you don't get lost in city before the match starts." She said with him chuckling.

"Witnessing such a duel could help me develop a new formula," Bastion commented, "I will also attend."

"I heard that some of the Pro league Duelist will be around to watch the match as well." Yang commented, "Might be able to catch up with Pyrrha." She said before hitting her fist together, "So, count me in."

"I see," Blake commented, "In that case, I'll go as well." She said with Yang smirking at her, "What?"

"You seemed to change your mind when I mention the pro leaguers. Could you be hoping a certain someone shows up as well?" Yang said with Blake looking away, hiding her face turning red while the fiery Ra Yellow giggled.

"Oh, I wonder if Neo will be around?" Jaden commented, causing Blair to gasp, "Maybe we can do a meet-up?"

"I-I'm coming too!" Blair suddenly spoke, then started to think to herself, "I can't lose Jaden while he is away to meet another girl."

"Then, it's settled." Weiss said with a smile, "The Chancellor said Glynda will be coming with as a proctor for the group, so I will let her know the number of people coming with us." She said before making her way out of the room, "Everyone better pack fast, we will be leaving shortly." The heiress Obelisk Blue said before exiting.

"Wow, I think that was the happiest I have seen Weiss since…ever," Jaden commented.

"She respects her big sister a great deal." Bastion responded, "Seeing her again must be very important."

"We can't ruin this for her." Alexis added on turning to the others, "So everyone, be on your best behavior."

"Right!" All others said before dispersing.

Meanwhile.

Weiss made her way down the dirt road towards the Ra Yellow dorms but saw someone leaning against a tree. She gasped upon realizing who it was, "Yuri." Weiss spoke as the sadistic Obelisk Blue smirked at her, "I thought you were still recovering."

"I was told it would be good to stretch my legs from time to time. But enough about me, you seem to be in good mood." Yuri spoke with a smile and closed eyes, "Does this have to do with your sister's victory in the tournament?"

"What's it to you?" Weiss responded with him chuckling.

"Oh nothing, it just reminded me of something funny." Yuri responded, "A girl was in a similar situation. She won the tournament, but in front of everyone, lost to the CEO of the Kaiba Corporation." The sadistic Obelisk blue said with Weiss gritting her teeth, "I wonder if events will repeat this time around as well?"

"Even if it's against Seto Kaiba, Winter will win!" Weiss shouted back, pointing at Yuri, "She has an astounding win record and can beat anyone with her skill!"

"A record unlike yours, correct?" Yuri said with half-open eyes and smirk, causing Weiss to gasp, "You have countless losses under your belt, yet you are related to a prestige family that has produced a formidable duelist." He said before shrugging, "Is it possible that your big sister got all the talent for dueling in the Schnee lineage?"

"S-shut up!" Weiss responded, then pointing to herself, "One day, I will be just as good as my sister!"

"Heh, a dream to live eternally in the shadow of someone else." Yuri responded, but his smile fading, "How pathetic?" He said before walking towards the heiress Obelisk Blue, who had gasped again, "Enjoy the vacation with your friends. And do say hello to your sister for me." The sadistic Obelisk Blue said just as he passed Weiss, but a wide smile on his face formed, "I hope one day to face her in a duel, so that I may defeat a Schnee that is actually worth my time." Yuri walked away, but Weiss remained standing in the middle of the dirt road with a look of despair.

A few hours later.

Aboard the private jet that soared through the sky, Glynda remained in the back to monitor all the students. In the row in front of her, Alexis and Bastion each had their own headphones on. While one was listening to piano performance, the other was playing a lecture on the hydrological clusters. Across from them, Yang had on headphones, chucking at a comedy show she watched on her scroll. Sitting next to her was Blake, who silently read a black book. Above these two, an annoyed Chazz sat between a snoring Jaden and napping Blair, preventing him from sleeping himself or leaving to get to a new seat. Finally, across them were Ruby, who sat while bobbing her head to the rave music she played through her red headphones. However, she looked over to Heiress Obelisk Blue, who was staring out the window. "Weiss, have you been doing that the whole flight?" Ruby asked while removing her headphones.

"…" Weiss did not say a word right away, "Ruby, I'm still a good duelist, right?"

"Of course, one of the best I know." Ruby said, "Where did that come from?" she said before realizing something, "Wait, you didn't run into Yuri again, did you?"

"…" Weiss did not respond.

"I swear, that jerk." Ruby said before clenching her headphones, "He just doesn't stop-"

"He's right," Weiss said with Ruby gasping, "I can't be any better than my sister, she's perfect." The heiress Obelisk Blue then glared at her reflection in the glass window, "Still, I need to prove to her that I have gotten better, at least just a little bit." She said before seeing a green light shine near the front of the hallway, "We're about to land, let's get ready."

"O-okay," Ruby responded, but had a look of worry in her eyes.

The jet landed in the Domino City airport. After the group had recovered the luggage, they were meet with a man in a black suit and sunglasses standing before a long limousine. They entered the car and were taken to a massive hotel. Upon checking in, Glynda led the group up the elevator and towards a hallway of rooms, "We will be staying on this floor for the duration of our trip." She said before handing Bastion three keycards, "The boys will be in D4." The headteacher of Ra Yellow said before looking to Blake, handing her four keycards, "While the girls will be in D5." Glynda then looked over to Alexis and Blair, "However, the two of you will be in the same room as I am."

"What!?" Blair responded, "Why?"

"Because you, Ms. Flannigan, have a habit of sneaking into other's rooms you are not meant to be in." Glynda said before turning to Alexis, "And I need someone else to keep an eye on her this trip."

"Understood," Alexis said with a nod, while Blair crossed her arms and pouted.

Blake and Bastion opened the doors to their respective group's rooms. Both rooms looked nearly the same. While the boys entered in right away, the girls stopped at the doorway upon noticing something, "Hey, they just stuck another bed in here to make it for four people." Weiss said as she had a look of annoyance.

"You're point?" Blake asked.

"It means we got stuck with less space." Weiss responded, crossing her arms, "What a rip-off."

"We got these rooms for free," Yang said before sighing, "Not much we can do about it." She said before seeing Ruby with a look of concentration in her eyes, "What are you thinking?"

"Hmmm," Ruby said before looking to the Shadowy Obelisk Blue, "Blake you, brought a lot of books with you right."

"Ones I intended to read, yes," Blake answered.

"Okay, and Yang," Ruby said before looking back to the fiery Ra Yellow, "You still have some rope on you?"

"Always," Yang responded with Weiss and Blake looking at her with half-open eyes, "What, it's in case I need to lasso someone." She said with both girls continuing their blank stare.

"Perfect," Ruby said before smiling at the four beds, "I have a plan."

A few minutes later.

"Tada!" Ruby introduced the new room arrangements. One bed was stacked over the other by a few dozen books. The other side showed one bed suspended over the other by some rope, "See, now we have more room to walk around in here."

"Ruby, this looks completely unsafe!" Weiss commented.

"If you're worried about fall," Ruby responded, "I can take the top bunk."

"So, I get to be crushed to death when these knots go undone?" Weiss retorted.

"Relaxed, I tied them a bunch." Yang said before yawning, "And I'm tired from lifting these. So, I'm calling it for today." The fiery Ra Yellow said before crawling into the top bunk of the adjacent bed, "Night ladies." She said before flopping on the bed, causing the books to slightly shake.

"I hoping to catch up on my reading," Blake said with a sigh before getting into the bottom bunk.

"Come on Weiss, this will be fun!" Ruby said as she looked down on the heiress Obelisk Blue from the top bunk.

"…Fine." Weiss said before s slight smile formed, "You know, I always did want to have bunk beds for-"

"Really!? The Slifer Red dorm is full of those, and they are a lot safer then these." Ruby interrupted, "We can do more sleepovers and have girl talks about-" she was saying until a pillow was thrown into her face.

"S-shut up," Weiss said after having thrown the pillow, then taking it back before getting in the bottom bunk, "Let's just go to sleep."

"Okay," Ruby said with a sigh, then smiled, "Goodnight everyone." She said before closing her eyes.

The next morning.

The group of students met up in the lobby of the hotel with Glynda addressing them, "The main event will not be until late tonight, so I expect all of you back here so we can witness the duel." She said before looking over to Weiss, "Your sister said she is in the Battle City district to prepare for the match. We will be heading there right now to confirm some information with her."

"Good," Weiss said with Ruby looking back to her in worry, noticing the heiress Obelisk Blue's left fist was clenched, "Where in Battle City is she exactly?"

"She said you would know," Glynda said while adjusting her glasses, causing Weiss to slightly gasp. The heiress Obelisk Blue pondered what her sister meant, then looked back to the headteacher of Ra Yellow with the answer.

The limousine parked near the docking districted of Domino City. After exiting, the group followed Weiss as she led the way. Soon, they reach a particular section of the docks with a lone person standing at the edge of the roaring tides. Her hair matched the same shade of white as the heiress Obelisk Blue, but was braided in a bun in the back, yet still showed bangs over one of her eyes. Her white and blue attire was more of that of a military suit with navy pants and a tie. Holstered on her left side was a compact silver duel disk, "It's been a while." The military pro duelist spoke before pivoting to turn to the group, but focused on the Weiss, causing their sky-blue eyes to lock, "How are you?" she said before the waves crashed behind her against the cement wall.

Weiss smiled in glee as she ran towards her elder sister. However, that moment of happiness ended as she recalled her plan. In stopping just before the military pro duelist, the heiress Obelisk Blue clenched her fists, "Winter…" Weiss spoke again, this time in a somewhat reserved voice, then glared back to her elder sister, "Duel me, please!" She said with the group behind her gasping, while Winter remained steadfast. However, a slight smile formed on the military pro duelist's face, causing one to slowly form on Weiss's as well. Suddenly, Winter punched Weiss upside her head, "OUCH!"

"We have not seen one another in over a year and that is what you say to me?" Winter spoke with an icy scowl, "I assumed you would have retained your manners while at Duel Academy."

"Huh," Yang commented from the sidelines as crossed her arms, "Guess Ice Queens are genetic." She said before tilting her head at the thought of Tyranno, "Though if Dreads was here, he would probably call her an Ice General."

"I ask how you are," Winter spoke with a sigh and somewhat concern in her voice, "Are you eating well? I heard the food there is… questionable at best."

"I'm fine," Weiss said with a groan as she held her head with both hands, pushing back the bump that was forming, "I just…can I duel you?" Weiss asked again, "Please, I want to show you how far I've come since you last saw me." The heiress Obelisk Blue said with her smile reforming, "Plus, this will give you a good warm-up to your match later and-"

"To answer your request, no." Winter spoke with her hands behind her back, "Just now, you admitted you could not beat me." The military pro duelist said with Weiss gasping, "I will not duel someone who does not believe they can win."

"But you're too good, I could never-" Weiss said before Winter raised her right hand, causing the heiress Obelisk Blue to flinch.

However, Weiss's head was not stuck. Rather, it was petted by her elder sister, "Weiss, you cannot assume you will lose because your opponent is too skilled." The military pro duelist said with a smile forming, "You will only improve by challenging those stronger than yourself. Overcoming them is when you realize how amazing you truly are, but that you also must get ready for the next challenge."

"I-I see," Weiss said with a smile forming on her face as well, "Thank you for reminding me." She said as Winter pulled her hand back and behind her back. The heiress Obelisk Blue then turned back to see the group approaching, "I would like you to meet my friends."

"A pleasure to meet you all." The military pro duelist faced the group and bowed, "I am Winter Schnee."

"Hey," Jaden spoke with a wave while the other bowed, "So, you still want a warmup match to big duel?" he said with the others gasping, "Because I'm ready to throw down."

"Come on, I should be the one to duel." Yang spoke up, smirking to Ruby and Weiss, "It would be a battle of the big sisters."

"I appreciate your offers." Winter spoke to Yang and Jaden, "But I have already made up my mind for the warmup match." She said before looking over to the headteacher of Ra Yellow, "It's been a while, Glynda."

"Yes, it has." Glynda responded before closing her eyes, but adjusting her glasses, "I suppose you wish to settle the score." She said with opening her eyes, seeing Winter sneering, "Hm, very well." Glynda said before smirking back, "I will be your opponent."

"Wait, pause for a second," Jaden spoke up.

"You two know each other?" Weiss asked her elder sister.

"Of course," Winter responded, "We were in the same year at Duel Academy when the island was first made open for students."

"WHAT!?" the students all spoke in shock.

"Don't act so surprised, everyone has their own beginnings." Glynda spoke to the students, then looked back to Winter, "In that class, people consider you the best Obelisk Blue student."

"And you the best Ra Yellow," Winter responded.

"Wow, it's just like the strongest in each class we have today." Ruby commented with a smile, but looked back to Glynda, "Wait, who was the one for Slifer Red then?"

"… You already dueled her," Glynda spoke in a reserved voice, causing Ruby to have a look of confusion. However, after the hooded Slifer Red had recalled her opponent's, one came to mind that she knew would bring up such harsh memories. The headteacher of Ra Yellow then adjusted her glasses, "I think that is enough reminiscing." She said before focusing on Winter, "Let us get to our match."

"Agreed," Winter responded with a smirk, causing her to radiate a type of white aura. Glynda smiled back, but her aura was a light yellow. The students took their place as the onlookers, while the two opponents took their positions facing each other. Glynda equipped her duel disk as Winter unsheathed hers, which folded out over her right arm.

"Duel!" the two women spoke as the match at the docks began.

Glynda: 4000 Life Points

Winter: 4000 Life Points

"I'll make the first move," Winter said as she drew her sixth card, "First, I play Ancient Rules." She said as a spell illustration a map and a blue wind dragon was seen, "This allows me to summon a high-level normal monster without a tribute." The military pro duelist said before taking out another card from her hand, "I choose Gaia the Fierce Knight in attack mode." Winter said as dual-wielding jouster knight riding a violet steed rode onto the battlefield, (2300 ATK / 2100 DEF). "I'll then end with one card face down."

"Gaia," Blake commented, "Wasn't that a monster used by the King of Games."

"Yes," Weiss responded with a smile, "But my sister's deck has more focus put on this knight." She said before locking her eyes back onto the battle, "As well as another one from his deck she has made her own."

"It's my turn," Glynda said before drawing, smiling at the result, "I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode." She said as a crimson armored mage with a sword and shield was seen, (1600 ATK / 1000 DEF). "When summoned, he gains a spell counter to give 300 more attack points. However, I will use it right away to destroy your facedown card." The headteacher of Ra yellow said before Breaker's sword glowed light blue. With one slash, he cut the face-down trap in half before it shattered into pieces.

"Eliminating backrow before making your assault," Winter commented, "I guess it was correct for you to follow the teacher's path." She said while glancing back at the students, but then focused back on her opponent, "Still, your monster is no match for Gaia."

"Which is why it is my turn to play a spell." Glynda responded, "I activate Magical Dimension." She said as a caged coffin appeared with Breaker being absorbed inside it, then took a card out of her hand, "I can sacrifice one spellcaster to replace it with another. I choose Chaos Command Magician." The headteacher of Ra Yellow said as the coffin opened, revealing a green-robed magician with red orbs over his attire, (2400 ATK / 1900 DEF). "And while he is stronger than Gaia, I'm afraid your knight will not be staying around for too much longer." She said before the coffin closed again, firing a yellow beam the pieced the chest of the jouster knight, causing him to explode, "Now, attack her directly!" Glynda declared as she green made gathered energy in its staff.

Suddenly, a shower of blades of light rained down over the battlefield, causing Glynda to gasp, "You forget that the hand can also house ways to stop an enemy's plan in their tracks." Winter said as she played a card from her hand, "Since you made a direct attack, I can summon Swordsman of Revealing Light in defense mode." She said as a massive blue armored shogun appeared at her side, wielding one of the blades of light. (0 ATK / 2400 DEF).

"Oh hey, I had that card once!" Ruby commented, "Normally, it could block the attack, or destroy the attacking monster if it has less attack than his defense."

"But since those values are equal," Bastion commented, "The battle is a stalemate."

"I end my turn," Glynda said as Chaos Command Magician reposed his staff.

"I draw," Winter said as she drew, smiling at the result, "You may have beaten my knight with ease." She said before placing the card in her hand before taking out a spell card, "But let us see if you can handle a soldier. I activate Black Luster Ritual!"

"What did she just say!?" Chazz commented in shock, the saw two pillars of fire erupted beside Winter, "That's a ritual spell for one of the King of Game's strongest monsters." He said before the emblem of a shield and swords was seen behind the military pro duelist. As Swordsman of Revealing Light vanished, the emblem shattered with a new monster being leaped into battle. He was a purple and light green armored knight with red hair flowing out the back of his helmet. In raising his head, the piercing glare in his eyes matched the sharpness of his blades and the defiance of his shield, (3000 ATK / 2500 DEF). "Black Luster Soldier."

"Go, attack with Chaos Blade Slash!" Winter declared with the Black Luster Soldier rushing in at blinding speed. In one slash, he bisected Chaos Command Magician and his staff, causing both to explode with the chaos soldier leaping back towards the military pro duelist.

Glynda: 4000 – 600 = 3400 Life Points

The smoke cleared with Glynda glaring at her opponent, "Of course you would summon that monster. It was always your favorite." She said before draw, then smirked at the result, "In that case, I'll show you mine." The headteacher of Ra Yellow said before playing a card, "I activate Black Magic Ritual!" she said as two golden chalices appeared before a yellow spellbinding circle, "I offer my level eight Cosmo Queen," she said while sending the card from her hand to the graveyard, causing a purple flame for appearing in the spellbinding circle, "To ritual summon Magician of Black Chaos!" Suddenly, the flame expanded to reveal a black leather-bound magician with blue complexion, (2800 ATK / 2600 DEF). His eyes opened with a yellow glow, glaring towards the Black Luster Soldier.

"Heh, isn't this familiar," Winter commented as Glynda smirked. The two then recalled a moment of many years ago, where two girls in the duel academy arena facing each other. Beside the Black Luster Soldier, an Obelisk Blue girl stood with a white jacket top that had had slits to expose her arms. Across from her and next to a Magician of Black Chaos, a Ra Yellow girl stood with a white vest and purple cape draped from her back. In the stands, a few young male students from both these dorms watched. The Ra Yellows were a portly kid sitting next to a skinny boy with thick glasses. The Obelisk Blues included a young man with jet black hair and a metal accessory over one of his eyes, and a boy had white hair and glasses, holding a cane in his hands. However, off in the distance near the hallway, a girl from the Slifer Red dorm watched the match with her arms crossed while leaning against a wall. She wore the uniform vest and pants but had a small black cape drape down her right shoulder. She stared with amber eyes, even when one was covered by her black hair. Slowly, the memory ended as Winter focused on Glynda, "I bet I know that last card in your hand."

"You should," Glynda responded, "I play Book of Secret Art, giving my monster 300 more attack and defense points." She said as the equip spell flowed purple magical energy into Magician of Black Chaos, (2800 + 300 = 3100 ATK). "A small increase, but it's just enough to beat you. Go, Spector Strike!" Glynda ordered with Magician of Black Chaos unleashing a massive purple orb from his staff, one that collided with the Black Luster Soldier's body, exploding him with bits of the armor turning into pieces.

Winter: 4000 – 100 = 3900 Life Points

"She took down the Black Luster Soldier!" Blake commented.

"This is insane," Yang added, "It's like we're watching the King of Games Verse the King of Games."

"Yeah, so cool!" Ruby said in glee.

"Heh, you haven't seen anything yet." Weiss responded with her arms crossed, "Just watch."

"It's my turn," Winter said as she drew, playing the card. "Since your monster is so powerful, I can normal summon this one without any tributes. Meet Gaia the Magical Knight." Suddenly, another duel-wielding jouster knight appeared, this one with a blue cape and red steed, (2300 ATK / 2100 DEF). "Moreover, he allows me to special summon a level five dragon monster from my hand or graveyard." She said before playing the last card in her hand, "I summon Curse of Dragonhex." Winter said as a yellowish armored dragon with red eyes was seen, its body sparking with red electricity, (2000 ATK / 1500 DEF). "And with its summoning, I can add spell card from my deck to my hand." The military pro duelist said as a card ejected, which she revealed, "Spiral Fusion."

"An archetype fusion card," Alexis commented,

"I fuse my two monsters," Winter declared while watching the knight glow in a blue light, while the dragon glowed in an orange one, "To create the master of the sky," she said as the two monsters combining in a spiral, which erupted in yellow light, "Come forth, Gaia the Magical Dragon Champion!" the military pro duelist said with the dual-wielding jouster knight riding the cursed dragon, (2600 ATK / 2100 DEF).

"Wow, that's not just a fusion," Jaden said in excitement, "It looks like both cards working together to create something totally awesome!"

"It's just one monster riding the other." Chazz said with half-open eyes, "And it's still weaker than Glynda's Magician of Black Chaos."

"I activate Gaia's effect. For reducing his attack by 2600, I can destroy any card on the field." Winter said while pointing at the spellcaster ritual monster.

Glynda gasped before seeing the magical champion hurl one of his jousting rods, which impaled Magician of Black Chaos before he exploded. When the smoke cleared, she looked up in a panic to see Gaia glaring down at her, "Why didn't its attack points lower to zero."

"In playing Spiral Fusion, my champion gained 2600 more attack points. So, after his effect, Gaia is back to his normal stats." Winter said before pointing, "Now, attack Glynda directly with Spiral Spell Stricker!" she declared with Gaia divebombing towards Glynda. While spinning, the cursed dragon breathed fire that encompassed him and the champion. The headteacher of Ra Yellow's widened before impact, which resulted in a blazing explosion. Before the smoke cleared, the magical champion emerged and repositioned next to Winter.

Glynda: 3400 – 2600 = 800 Life Points

Glynda was seen on one knee before pushing herself up, dusting herself off, then adjusting her glasses, "It seems this duel will be concluding soon." She said before drawing her card, "I'll set this face down and end my turn."

"Is she is giving up?" Yang commented as Winter drew.

"No," Bastion answered, "She is playing brilliantly." He said with Yang looking at him in confusion, seeing a smile on the posh Ra Yellow's face. She then looked back to see Glynda's eyes hidden in the glare of her glasses.

"…" Winter examined the card in her hand, then looked over to the facedown that Glynda had. "…I use Gaia's effect again, reducing his attack to destroy your last card." She said with the magical champion throwing his other jousting rod, squiring the facedown. (2600 – 2600 = 0 ATK).

"Heh, thank you," Glynda spoke, adjusting her glasses to show her eyes. Suddenly, a pillar of purple magical energy erupted from the facedown card, eradicating the jousting rod, "That card you destroyed was Chaos Scepter Blast." She said before a card ejected from her deck, "And when that happens, I can ignore the summoning conditions of this monster." The headteacher of Ra Yellow said before paying the card, "Behold, Dark Magician of Chaos!" the purple beam then expanding, revealing the black leathered mage, his yellow gaze as sharp as before, (2800 ATK / 2600 DEF).

"Dark Magician…of Chaos?" Ruby commented.

"It looks the same as the Magician of Black Chaos." Blake commented, "But this one is not a ritual."

"Yeah, but it's even deadlier." Jaden commented, "Trust me, you don't was to mess with that magician."

"So, this was your plan," Winter said as she recalled her opponent's first turn, "You reminded me about in importance of backrow removal. However, this was all so you would have me play cautiously and not risk attacking while you had a facedown."

"I'll admit, this was not entirely my intention, nor even my idea," Glynda said with a smile, "But even teachers can learn from their students." she said with Bastion smiling as well, "Now, your monster has no attack points."

"True, you set me up." Winter said before smirking, "But I knew you would set me up, which is why I am glad I drew this." She said with Glynda having a look of confusion, "I remove one light attribute monster and one dark attribute monster." The military pro duelist said as Glynda gasped.

"Wait, haven't I heard that before," Jaden said before seeing Gaia the Magical Knight and Curse of Dragonhex were taken out of the graveyards.

"Emerge from the Gates of Chaos," Winter said as both monsters went into a spiraling light blue vortex, "Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning!" emerging out from the vortex was the soldier of chaos, reposing with his sword and shield. (3000 ATK / 2500 DEF). Like before his sharp gaze was focused on the other agent of chaos.

"What!? I thought that card was outlawed from tournaments," Chazz spoke in shock.

"It was taken off the banned list not too long ago," Weiss answered, "A copy was then made a prize for a tournament, and you can probably guess who the winner was."

"It's time," Winter spoke, causing Black Luster Soldier to reel back his sword, "Go, Luster Blade Attack!" she said before the envoy of the beginning thrust his sword, firing off a barrage of blades that shredded the Dark Magian of Chaos before he exploded.

Glynda: 800 – 200 = 600 Life Points

"And after destroying a monster, Black Luster Solider can attack again," Winter spoke as the Envoy of the Beginning rushed in. Glynda could only get halfway through her gasp before the soldier of chaos slashed across her body. As her life points ticked to zero, the headteacher of Ra Yellow fell to her knees.

Glynda: 600 – 3000 = 0 Life Points

"You see, that is my sister!" Weiss spoke with her eyes closed and arms crossed, "She is that good, barely taking any damage and winning with her-." However, as she opened her eyes, the heiress Obelisk Blue witnessed Winter walking over to Glynda.

"That was a close match," Winter said as she offered her left hand, "If I had not drawn exactly what I had needed, the duel would have easily switched in your favor."

"Hehe, it's a bit too humble to say that was all luck." Glynda said before accepting the hand, allowing her to stand back up, "But, thank you." She said before the other students started to walk over to the duelist.

However, Weiss stood in solitude. She then looked down in sorrow before seeing the black military-heeled boots of her elder sister before her. The heiress Obelisk Blue then looked up, seeing Winter smiling down towards her. Suddenly, the military pro duelist smacked her upside the head again, "Ouch!" Weiss said as she held her head in pain, "What was that for!?"

"I could tell that your arrogance after a match has not waivered, even if you were not the one dueling." Winter responded with her hands behind her back, "Remember, no matter who your opponent is, they do deserve respect for challenging a Schnee." Winter said before her mind began to linger, causing her to recall a match against a man with short black hair and a cross over her neck, wielding a metal duel disk with a large gear on it, "…Even if they are insufferably annoying." She spoke with half-open eyes at the memory, recalling her opponent bricking in the opening hand. The military pro duelist then cleared their mind before looking back to her little sister, a smile forming, "Can you remember that for me?"

"Y-yes, I will," Weiss responded with a nod.

"Good," Winter said before turning to the rest of the group, "Thank you all for coming to meet me here. However, I must leave to prepare for my match tomorrow night." She said before bowing her head, "Please enjoy your stay in Domino city." The others bowed back, except Jaden until Alexis forcibly lowered his head. The military pro duelist then started to walk away with Weiss waving with a smile.

"Your sister is an amazing duelist," Blake said, gaining Weiss's attention.

Yeah, she's not a bad big sis either," Yang said before getting Ruby in a headlock, "Maybe I need to use her method to knock some of my sense into you sometimes."

"Hey, you might give me a concussion her way," Ruby said as she struggled to breathe before her big sister let her go. In catching her breath, the hooded Slifer Red looked back to Weiss, "Still, she is really cool. I could tell right away you two were sisters."

"Of course, anyone would." Weiss commented with her head high, but then lowered it back at eye level with a smile, "But thank you, that does mean a lot to me." She said with Ruby smiling back.

"Well, Pyrrha told me about a place where we can meet up." Yang spoke, "One with a few other pros hanging around."

"Yeah, and Neo got back to me about being in the area." Jaden responded, "So, I guess we should split up and meet back later." He said before looking back to Glynda, "Is that okay with you."

"As long as you do not get lost," Glynda responded, "So, take someone with you that knows the way back."

"I'll go with him." Alexis offered.

"So will I!" Blair added with a slight pout.

"Me too," Ruby then looked at the location on Jaden's scroll, causing her to gasp, "Oh, Weiss you could come with us. There is this cool card shop nearby I can show you."

"Okay," Weiss responded, "That sounds nice."

"Sweet, the rest of us will go see the pros," Yang said as she stood next to Blake, Chazz, Bastion, and Glynda. "See you all before the big match." The fiery Ra Yellow said with a wink before groups split up, each starting a different adventure in Domino City.

AN: There you go, Winter has arrived! I have said she would be in this series for a while, but it is nice to finally show her off. Her character is neat, I have liked her more since writing her in my stories this way. She plays a chaos deck focusing on knights such as Gaia and BLS. Which for me, Envoy of the Beginning was my ace back when I ran a chaos dragons' deck at my locals. So, I really liked giving her that monster. I also liked this duel against Glynda, showing the two rituals monsters of Yugi going against each other. It also showed a bit of backstory between the two, as well as giving some cameos of other rwby series cast people were asking about, (To clarify timeline stuff, GX takes place around 10 years after the original series. However, I would say Duel Academy was built within a couple year, since Kaiba corporation makes everything fast. If they were students at this time, characters like Winter, Glynda, and even Cinder, would be around mid-twenties now. Also, I liked making them first generation Strongest in each grade level, which gives a bit of context to their history. In the end, it is her elder sister that helps Weiss get a bit of her confidence back. Next chapter, the gang explores more of Domino City, meeting a few more characters along the way. That is all for now, thanks for reading, and hope to see you in the next chapter.

Now, time to answer some questions. There was an interesting one about if Jaden was transported in the Rwby cannon. Honestly, it might depend on were he landed. If near people like Ruby, he might have become a huntsman with a duel disk. However, if it was around a lot of Grimm and witness all the death and destruction they caused, it might be a recreation of Supreme King all over again. Regarding Atticus, he will get a duel later in the tournament. For now, Atticus, Tyranno, Sienna, and Nora are sitting back so that I could manage the characters on this trip a bit better. Regarding some new card archetypes, War Rocks look awesome and Magikey are neat. I don't know if I have a character who could play either, but they are both cool. With Flundereeze, I have no idea what to think about them. Regarding Kings Court, I like that the paying card monsters got an archetype made for them. For those, I may give them Winter as well, or might see if someone else could play them. As I said, Jaden's last facedown is left a mystery to the reader. It could have been something like Mirror Gate to win, or Final Fusion for a tie, or even a bluff like Bubble Illusion. It is up to you to think whatever you want that card to be. Regarding a rematch, you will have to wait and see. Next time, Yuri will be more prepared with the integration of his new cards into his main deck. And his collection will grow in more ways than you may realize. For Zane, you will see him soon enough, but I do not believe I will have him verse Jaden here. Regarding more fusions and rituals used by pros, Winter just covered both. Regarding deck upgrades, there is reason I mention the card shop here. Also, I sneak Qrow in here as a pro that Winter once fought. However, it shows that his luck in dueling is about the same as his luck with everything else, (If I have him show up again, it would be as a bonus chapter against Joey, just for fun). My contact fusion archetype would be banishing, I think that is a better trade off and leads to less shuffling. Going back to the Jaden verse Yuri duel, I really liked the ending of the duel and showing Yuri's psychotic nature, it is also what I looked forward to most when writing him. Still, both will be on a different level when the tournament starts. And when it does, you will see students from the other academies come to participate, since I will not make a season three of this series. And I am sorry, but I am going to avoid answering too personal of questions, as I want these sections to focus more on the series here. Finally, regarding a duel ranting system, I will just keep what the data sheet shows for this series. You can also refer to that regarding updates on the new cover arts. Those were all the questions I had, feel free to ask more, and I will answer them in the next chapter.
