Furiously, the sharp sound of chopping echoes throughout the small kitchen as she furrows her brow, trying to focus on the task at hand, hearing the faint hum of the TV in the background.
"So what do you think of today's events with Hawks and Bombarda patrolling together? Just the other day Bombarda confessed on her podcast that she hated him so how did they become like this? What changed?" Confused, the reporter proclaims as Katsumi stops in her steps, her brow furrowed as she places her blade down on the chopping board, the chilli peppers lying flat on the board being brushed aside. She turns towards the tv, her fingertips flat against the smooth kitchen counter.
Scowling, her raw reds twitch as she then turns her back to the tv, returning to dicing her peppers when her phone erupts vibrating, making her groan. She reaches down, grabbing hold of the phone as she tries to focus on her cutting.
"You seeing this?" Scowling, she furrows her brow at the sound of Hawke, noting the faint sound of gales gushing no doubt he's high in the air.
"I'm hearing it." Grumpily, Katsumi slowly lowers her knife, turning her back to the board once more, reaching out with her prosthetic towards the remote, furrowing her brow at the pictures of the two talking, walking side by side, sharing drinks at a bench and food.
"Guess the people just need to get used to it." Hawks states making Katsumi arch a brow taken aback by his response.
"That doesn't sound very pro people Hawks." Teasingly, Katsumi smirks smugly.
"Hey a hero can be selfish sometimes you know." Childishly, Hawks whines.
"Or we could patrol separately?" Smirking, Katsumi points out the easier less stressful, less hassle option.
"And where would you be without my lively company?" Jokingly, Hawks argues in a light-hearted tone making her furrow her brow.
"Happy." Easily, she answers despite the small smirk of endearment upon her lips.
"Funny, you happy please?" Hawks scoffs making her furrow her brow at him.
"Bold of you to assume you even bring a single ounce of joy to my life." Katsumi crosses her arm over her chest, placing it on the arm that is holding her phone to her ear.
"Oh come on you like me really." Smugly, Hawks points out, purring it almost making Katsumi furrow her brow at the strange sound emitting form the oblivious bird boy.
"I really don't." Scowling, Katsumi deadpans, further furrowing her brow at the playboy glancing over at the TV once more, her eyes narrowing noting a few pictures on display of the report showing Hawks in clubs with girls all over him making her roll her eyes remembering who she is dealing with.
"Yeah you do you just don't want to admit it." Cockily, Hawks says smirking.
"You're really annoying you know that dumbass?" Tiredly, Katsumi sighs pinching the bridge of her nose just wanting to get back to her cooking so she can eat then head to bed, wanting to be done with today.
"You didn't say no." In a sing song tone, Hawks proclaims.
"And you don't know when to quit." Frowning, Katsumi scowls as she feels her eye twitch, trying to deal with the man child on the other side but just wanting to eat then head to bed as she had planned prior.
"Where's the fun in quitting?" Amused, Hawks chuckles.
"You're relentless you know that." Tensely, Katsumi scowls as she slides the peppers down into the sizzling shining pan below as she hears the crisp crunch of onions, peppers, chicken and the newly added peppers.
"They don't call me the man who's a bit too fast for nothing." Hawks exclaims as Katsumi cranes her head to the side, listening from the phone perched between her head and shoulder.
"I don't think that's something you should be proud of." Katsumi smirks slyly, a glint gleaming in her ruby reds.
"And why not?" Hawks challenges.
"Just don't tell girls that yeah?" She hints hoping if he found someone else prettier to bother, she could return to her work.
"Oh ho are you giving me romance advice?" Surprised, Hawke exclaims.
"If it distracts you long enough for me to flee then please play with any of the other girls." Honestly, she tells him.
"And leave you out? Why would I do that?" Hurt, he argues.
"For my sanity." Seriously, she answers.
"Oh come on none of those girls would be like you." Whining, he disputes.
"God damn right they won't be I ain't an extra." Enraged, she snaps scowling at the thought earning a small chuckle from the humoured Hawks.
"Right…so…you eaten yet?" Hawk's voice softens.
"In the process of cooking if you must know." Politely, she hints trying to get him to hang up so she can focus.
"Ooh what'cha making?" Curious, he asks her.
"What's it to you?" Defensively, her eyes arrow.
"Just curious what sort of foodie you are?" Hawks shrugs.
"Is the podcast you're stalking me on not helping?" Bitterly, she sneers.
"I wouldn't call it stalking I'm just a fan besides I want to know what sort of food you make, they say your favourite food describes who you are, my favourite is chicken." Hawks informs her.
"Chicken?" Skeptical, she scowls.
"Yep." Hawks confirms.
"Just chicken? Don't you need to be more specific than that?" Katsumi argues.
"Ooh someone's interested, planning on making some grub for me." Hopeful, Hawks asks making her furrow her brow.
"Piss off!" Scowling, she snaps at him.
"I didn't hear a no." Hawks pipes up.
"You wanna die?" Icily, she snarls unaware of the coal black smoke spewing out of the pan.
"Preferably no. Still we need to celebrate this!" Hawks reasons.
"This again?" Annoyed, she sighs slumping her shoulders exhaustion etched into her fatigued facial features.
"Yes this again come on, me you get some Takoyaki to celebrate this partnership!" Whining, he huffs.
"Over my dead body." Sternly, she snaps cursing underneath her mouth as she swiftly tries to fix her mistake, trying to save her meal.
"Wait, wait, wait, hold on what if I get Endeavour involved we could all talk about our quirks, learn how to work with one another would that make you go?" Hawks offers to the panicked induced Katsumi trying to fix things.
"You'll invite Endeavour?" She perks up.
"I'll invite Endeavour." Hawks promises.
"Fine." Sighing, Katsumi bows her head too tired to deal with it all.
"Yes! I'll pick you up at-" Happily, Hawks begins only making Katsumi scowl as once again he is swiftly silenced by the sound of the phone, hanging up on him once again just as she hears the knock of the door…
"Knock knock!" Chirpily, the voice calls out as Katsumi opens the door furrowing her brow looking up at the blonde boy before her, standing tall, towering over her easily. She scowls up at the grinning male, his shoulders slouched slightly, his hands shoved into his pockets, shyly shuffling a bit, trying to use his huge hoodie draped over his form to hide himself almost.
"Oh come on you were meant to say who's there!" Pouting, Taishiro whines leaning against the doorway.
"Who the fuck is there?" Crudely, Katsumi scowls up at him.
"Oh adding your own flair to it nice." Approvingly, Taishiro smiles.
"Just get to the joke before I slam the door in your face." Frustrated, Katsumi sighs shaking her head at the blonde bimbo before her.
"Broccoli." Taishiro smirks.
"Broccoli who?" Katsumi's ruby reds narrow.
"Broccoli doesn't have a last name, silly." Smiling, Taishiro winks only to meet Katsumi's firm flat frown.
"I'm surprised you even know what broccoli is." Bluntly, Katsumi deadpans.
"Oh you're hilarious." Taishiro chuckles.
"This coming from the guy with the knock knock jokes." Katsumi counters.
"Hey knock knock jokes are the best sort of jokes only second to…" Taishiro huffs pouting.
"Food jokes?" Curtly, Katsumi cuts him off amused almost, a small shy smirk crossing her lips only making his grin wider.
"You're meeean." Taishiro leans in teasingly, his warm breath brushing against her facial features.
"And you're bothering me." Unfazed, she retorts.
"Oh you cooking something?" Taishiro peers over her shoulder a gleam glistening in his yellows.
"Look at you stating the obvious." Katsumi steps aside allowing Taishiro in.
"Boy am I glad I didn't go to any stands on the way here." Taishiro stretches his arms out giddily.
"Wait you didn't?" Taken aback, Katsumi furrows her brow at him, slamming the door shut behind her.
"I may have hoped you could whip something up." Taishiro smiles scratching his cheek as she simply stares, gaping, gawking at the moron.
"I ain't your slave dumbass!" Scowling, she snaps at the male sheepishly smiling at her, sweat sliding down the side of his temple from her outburst.
"I know, I know I just love your food so much I was hoping I could take home some leftovers." Pleadingly, Taishiro begs beseeches the brunette on his hands and knees. She simply scowls down at him, her arms crossed over her chest, her raw red twitching at the man on his hands and knees, feeling his arms around her legs as she groans.
"Urgh…" Grumbling, she turns to glare to the side at the affection ass below her.
"Pleeeeease." Taishiro whines, placing his cheek to her leg.
"Fine but stop making such a big deal out of my cooking it ain't special." Scowling, she slams her palm down on his head, trying to pry the beaming blonde off her.
"You're kidding me right?" Taishiro gawks, gaping up at her stunned, his arms glued to her legs.
"Eh?" She stops her attempts at prying to do a double take at the male before her.
"It's fantastic! The flavours, the spices it's supreme." Taishiro beams brightly gushing his gold gleaming shining, shimmering, shining only making her are red cheeks deepen, darken.
"Stop making this weird!" Frustrated, she snaps at him kicking him to the ground.
"You just don't like being complimented on something that isn't heroic." Taishiro sighs lying flat on the ground, his body stretched out as she brushes past him, leaving him to stare up at the ceiling.
"Shut up!" She snarls snapping at him getting to the kitchen, trying to focus back on the task at hand.
"Heh, you're as predictable as always." Taishiro smirks looking up at her from the floor.
"Piss off." She huffs dismissing him, taking a small sip of her food and nodding in approval.
"Well either way here's the file." Taishiro stands up taking from his hoodie, a file tossing it on the table.
"Thanks. Here." Katsumi in exchange pours some of the food for him, placing it down on the table for him.
"Alright time to dig in!" Taishiro smiles down at the food, sitting down, licking his lips while she sits down on her seat, taking the file.
"Osaka drug ring so you weren't wrong." Humming, Katsumi observes the file gifted to her.
"Course not, we believe the trades happen between rounds where people with killer quirks battle against each other some use the amplified quirk drugs to give them the edge over the next battle. We just need to find the supplier for them, the guy they go to for them and we have a lead where he may be, a night club he visits regularly. If we find him, we find the ring." Taishiro explains animatedly to the humming Katsumi taking shy sips of her meal while he happily animatedly munches his food.
"And you want me in on this?" She arches a brow bored.
"It's right up your alley." Taishiro winks mischievously.
"Hmm I'll need to find a place in Osaka to rent but…" Thoughtfully, Katsumi considers making Taishiro perk up at the note.
"Oh you won't have to do that." Taishiro tells her.
"I won't?" Confused, Katsumi furrows her brow perking up at him.
"Yeah you can stay over at mine." Taishiro smiles.
"You sure?" Scowling, Katsumi furrows her brow unsure.
"Yeah you can pay rent by keeping me fed." Fondly, Taishiro smiles.
"Only seems fair I'll do the house chores as well." Fairly, Katsumi says.
"What? No, no." Taishiro shakes his head.
"No?" She furrows her brow at him once more.
"Just leave that to me." Taishiro tells her.
"Are you sure?" Sighing, Katsumi repeats unsure.
"Hey you're the one who's going to be fighting on my behalf seems only fair I do something in exchange." Taishiro smiles strained.
"Tai you're giving me your place to rest at for free." Frowning, Katsumi argues noting his tight smile.
"Your food more than makes up for it." Taishiro assures Katsumi.
"Are you sure?" Sceptical, her eyes narrow at Tashiro beaming brightly up at her making her grimace slightly, feeling a faint heat to her cheeks from his bright broad beam.
"I'm sure. Just let me do this yeah?" Taishiro smiles shyly up at her as she sets out the sofa, placing blankets and some spare pillows she had from her bed on the sofa. It's not much but it's better than sleeping on the floor.
"…Fine. But you're staying tonight." Sternly, Katsumi states the fact of the matter, her brow furrowed telling him off almost, she means did he know what time it was? For all she knew it could have been one of her sidekicks about some trouble at the office it could have been a fire or it well could have been a thief or some crazed villain that had found her home.
"Are you sure?" Taishiro furrows his brow at her, she notes the faint pang of guilt in his tone.
"It's too late for you to get back to Osaka anyway." Annoyed, Katsumi grumbles as she shrugs stating the fact of the matter, looking over the bed once more before turning back to Taishiro.
"Thanks Katsu." Taishiro smiles up at Katsu leaning into the plush pillow of his palm.
"If you want anything feel free to raid my fridge." Sighing, she places her hand on his shoulder lightly tapping his shoulder petting it awkwardly as said male's yellows gaze down at the sign of awkward affection amused. His smile only widens when seeing said motion. He knew how she was, she knew how she struggled to express herself so seeing this only made his chest lighten at the endearing sight of the girl glaring to the side.
"You can count on me." Taishiro promises winking cheekily at the groaning girl.
"Right." Tiredly, she mumbles, yawning slightly.
"Thanks again for all this Katsu." Taishiro tells her grateful.
"Just don't make a thing about it alright I'm heading up." Grumbling, Katsumi releases a loud yawn, combing her fingertips through her brown roots ruffling them up haphazardly as she makes her way towards her bedroom, ready for a good night sleep.
"Niight!" Chirpily, Taishiro smiles sweetly, winking mischievously at Katsumi who simply grunts, grumbling, lazily waving her hand in the air saluting him as she shuffles towards her bedroom.
"Night…" Sighing, Katsumi brushes him off releasing a small yawn, craning her neck from side to side as she then heads into her room, readying herself for the day to come.
