Stupid weather, stupid heat, stupid sun…scowling, Katsumi curses, furrowing her brow grimacing, glaring to the side shoving her hands into her pockets, her raw reds glaring at the sun, feeling beads of sweat slide down her temple. She loved the heat for her quirk sure it helped when it came to the bad guys or it at the least helped build up the sweat. But on the other hand…
"The hell?" Surprised, Katsumi stops in her steps, she had decided to take the scenic route towards the agency, Endeavour had left her a message which honestly, she could barely decipher. He was trying to bless; he was trying but age was getting to him. Still, she managed to decipher the purpose so she was heading to her agency to give the file Endeavour required for a certain case, something to do with a jury case, the lawyer requesting of Endeavor the case details. She had thought the police had it but wanted the heroes side so she was going to get them.
"Hey you okay?" Katsumi stares down at the white haired male lying flat on the ground, his brow furrowed as she notes his raw red tint to his cheeks.
"Urgh…" Groaning, his facial features grimace as she kneels down, placing the back of her hand to his temple, recoiling back at the sheer intensity of the heat emitting from the male. Frowning, she drags him into the shade of the tree nearby noting the books scattered about which she takes, placing them ear the boy now leant against the tree. She then heads towards the vending machine, ordering some bottled water before making her way back.
"Here. You need this more than me." Gently, she tries to offer the bottle to him, placing it on his temple as slowly, his coal blacks open meeting a pair of raw red.
"A-Are you…an angel?" Hoarsely, the male questions the brunette, her brow furrowed.
"Really? That line? If anything I'd be a demon…" Scoffing, she dismisses the foolish assumption.
"Urgh my head." Groaning, he cradles his throbbing temple.
"Take it easy alright?" She passes him the bottle which he happily chugs down.
"Don't have to tell me twice man I knew they said it'd be hot out today but I didn't think it'd be this bad." The boy cradles his head heaving.
"I know what you mean." Katsumi nods her head, looking down at her flexing fingertips.
"…Red eyes." He blurts out making her furrow her brow snapping out of her thoughts.
"Eh?" Alarmed, Katsumi turns to the white-haired male.
"Sorry I don't normally like the colour red." Shyly, he scratches the back of his head.
"Wow that's what you say to the person who found your unconscious ass, you're a real lady killer aren't ya?" Dryly, Katsumi huffs.
"Um sorry I just…" Natsuo flinches from her words.
"It's a joke." Softly, she assures him.
"Oh right. Sorry I just…I normally don't like the colour red." He tells her.
"Let me guess you like the colour blue." Bored, her raw reds dart down to his blue jacket and jeans.
"Heh good observation but your red…it's different I like it." Shyly, he smiles at her.
"Oh…Thanks?" Unsure, she furrows her brow, glancing from side to side ignoring the faint blistering heat to her cheeks.
"Sorry that sounded weird I have no idea why I blurted that out." Natsuo groans head in hands.
"It's fine it's a nice compliment well that's how I'm going to take it." Katsumi shrugs her shoulders lazily.
"…Are you sure you're not an angel?" Smirking, he raises a brow at her.
"Well last I checked I have a pulse and I don't have any wings so…? Still what brought you out here? You know hot it is right?" Frowning, she furrows her brow at him, quirking her head to the side confused.
"I was studying in the library but it got real stuffy real fast and I knew nothing was sinking in so I thought a change of scenery would help. I guess I should have taken into account the heat especially with my composition." Sighing, he confesses to her.
"Hm?" Katsumi hums.
"I have a ice quirk so never been good with the heat." Solemnly, he bows his head sighing sadly.
"That sucks but I get what you mean." Katsumi nods her head staring down at her hand, her brow furrowed.
"You do?" The boy arches a brow at her.
"When it gets hot I sweat a lot sometimes an explosion just happens I try to control it but you can only hold up so much sweat or even then when I think I have enough sweat for a tiny explosion the build up makes it much more powerful than I intended it can be a real pain when it comes to work." Calmly, she explains to the male, his coal blacks widening when hearing her words.
"Your quirk sounds amazing." Perkily, he beams brightly at her taking her aback.
"You'd think that but it can be a real pain in the ass." Annoyed, she scowls down at her hand.
"Yeah I can only imagine…oh my name's Natsuo's it's nice to meet you." Smiling, he tells her.
"It's nice to meet you too hm?" Katsumi nods her head only to furrow her brow at her phone going off.
"What is it?" He questions her as she stands.
"Got to go I promised I'd give my boss some file." Frowning, she reveals to him, turning her back to him.
"Wait! Do you not come to this college?" Surprised, his eyes expand.
"Afraid not I was just heading to a meeting." She tells him.
"O-Oh…" Disappointed, he bows his head.
"You okay?" She furrows her brow at him.
"Y-Yeah sorry." Shyly, he bows his head, a strained smile on his lips making Katsumi sigh.
"…Here." Tiredly, Katsumi sighs grabbing his hand as she takes out her phone.
"Huh?" Taken aback, he gasps at the digits.
"With how accident prone you tend to be and with the reports saying the heat is going to get worst you can have this." She tells him, returning the phone back to her pocket.
"Y-Your number?" Shyly, he whispers, his voice cracking, his cheeks raw red.
"You can't just expect someone to pick up your unconscious ass dumbass!" Frustrated, she snarls snapping at him.
"R-Right…thank you! W-Wait I don't even know your name!" Natsuo calls out feebly, sighing, furrowing his brow when watching her fleeting figure leave…
"Hey dad!" Perkily, a young woman of average height with turquoise eyes peers into the fancy establishment of Endeavour's office, his hues a similar shade to her own widen when seeing the girl enter alongside Hawks standing by his side. She has white hair, flecked with a few noticeable traces of a crimson-like colour, which is mostly shoulder-length aside from the ear-length side bangs she sports and the short clump she leaves hanging down her forehead.
"Fuyumi?" Endeavour furrows his brow at his daughter. She wears a white dress shirt with a plain greyish peach-coloured cardigan, the sleeves worn rolled up to just below her elbows, along with navy blue jeans. She also sports brown dress shoes and a pair of red-framed rectangular glasses.
"I thought I'd bring some food for you." Fuyumi smiles as she reveals said lunch to both men.
"That's unnecessary." Endeavour refuses furrowing his brow.
"Now come on boss who can say no to a free meal. Especially from such a cutie." Mischievously, Hawks winks at Fuyumi nervously smiling.
"O-oh thanks…" Shyly, she smiles adjusting her lenses, a faint ruby red tint to her cheeks making Hawks smirk smugly but not Endeavour, scowling in disapproval at the sight. Endeavor knew how Hawks was and he couldn't help but feel a fatherly protectively pang in his chest at the sight.
"Hmm…" Scowling, piercing blues glare at Hawk alongside a familiar coal black peering into the room.
"Natsuo come on at least say hi to dad." Frowning, Fuyumi huffs hands on her hips as she turns to the glaring white haired boy.
"Natsuo it's been some time." Tiredly, Endeavour acknowledges the boy lingering in the doorway.
"N- Natsuo c-come on let's…" Feebly, Fuyumi calls out hopeful towards her brother glaring daggers at her father.
"Oi Endeavour I got the file you wanted." Casually, Katsumi calls out as she makes her way into the room, file in hand. She approaches the desk, ignoring the eyes gawking, gaping, glued to her back as she hands the file over.
"Good." Endeavor nods his head taking said file.
"B-Bombarda?" Shyly, Natsuo blurts out making her furrow her brow.
"Hm? She hums turning towards him.
"You're…angel?" Meekly, Natsuo exclaims as the others gape at the nickname, Fuyumi squealing excited, hands over her mouth while Hawks and Endeavour's eyes narrow, stoically silently watching the scene paly out.
"Oh Natsuo good to see you're not on the ground again." Katsumi offers her hand out to the blushing boy unfazed by the blistering blush burning his cheeks.
"W-Wait you two know each other!?" Excitedly, Fuyumi squeals excitement laced in her tone.
"W-Well…" Shyly, Natsuo squeaks slightly, glancing to the side, his raw red blush darkening while Katsumi simply arches a brow befuddled by the steam spewing out of him.
"Wait a minute is she the reason why you haven't contacted us in a while!? Is she your new girl!?" Excitedly, Fuyumi accuses.
"S-Sis stop!" Natsuo begs, glaring at his siter, his features raw red.
"…What?" Katsumi blinks baffled by the scene playing out before her.
"Please you have to tell me all the details how did you meet? How long has this been going on?" Excitedly, Fuyumi grabs her shoulders making her raw reds widen when gazing down at the girl, rocking her back and forth.
"Nothing's been going on sis she saved me when I collapsed from the heat!" Urgently, Natsuo intervenes taking the still lost Katsumi away from Fuyumi frowning, looking lost, simply staring, trying to work out what's playing out before her before she feels all eyes on her, deeming her time to speak.
"It was fortunate the shade of the tree helped." Finally, Katsumi speaks out bored.
"Wait!? You two met under a tree oh my gosh this sounds just like the start of a romance movie!" Merrily, Fuyumi squeals making Katsumi grimace, cradling her head surprised to not see crimson gushing out of her ear from the beaming brightly mess.
"…Was she dropped as a kid?" Lowly, Katsumi questions Natsuo by his side.
"With that bastard probably." Poisonously, Natsuo sneers scowling, crossing his arms over his chest, disgust laced in his tone.
"Natsuo …" Endeavour begins tiredly.
"How romantic!" Fuyumi squeals smiling.
"Look glasses you're getting the wrong picture here." Tiredly, Katsumi tries to set things straight.
"Glasses?" Fuyumi quirks her head to the side.
"She's right Fuyumi." Natsuo nods his head in agreement.
"But ever since you came back from college you're eyes have been glued to your phone." Playfully, Fuyumi smirks smugly at her brother.
"Fuyumi!" Hissing, Natsuo glares at his giggling sister.
"Look I'm just going to head back now." Katsumi announces wanting out of this situation but…
"Stay." Endeavour orders making her eye twitch.
"Oh boy…" Amused, Hawks chuckles a small smug smirk upon his lips.
"Huh?" Confused, Fuyumi looks up to see the small smirk upon Hawks lips shoving his hands into his pockets as Katsumi stops in her steps, her raw red twitching.
"I'm sorry?" Icily, she snaps as Endeavour blinks when hearing the crisp crunch of a bone breaking as she turns for his icy blue to glare into a pair of fiery raw red.
"You heard what I said." Endeavour snarls.
"Endeavour need I remind you of our situation? I am NOT your sidekick; you are NOT my superior I tolerate you enough as it is and you think you have the authority to treat me some like mangy mutt? Piss off!" Scowling, she curses at Endeavour glaring his flames flicking but she remains firm in her words, unaware of the stunned Natsuo simply stares stunned, his pale features now raw red while Hawks simply smiles, a glint glistening in his golds at the woman.
"W…whoa…" Wide eyed, Natsuo whispers watching on ruby red.
"Now then I'm out of this fire pit!" Fed up, Katsumi raises her hands up in exasperation before turning on her heel ignoring Endeavour calling out to her as she brushes him off.
"W-Wait Bombarda!" Natsuo grabs her wrist making her turn to the blushing boy bored.
"You think…we could meet up sometime?" Hopeful, he asks bowing his head.
"OF COURSE NOT!" Endeavour snarls but is easily ignored by both parties.
"A date!?" Fuyumi squeals smiling while a still silence enters the air Katsumi's raw reds firmly on Natsuos's bowed head noting his fidgeting fingertips coiled around her wrist; her raw reds soften.
"Enough." Enraged, Endeavour slams his hands down on the desk.
"B-But Dad! It was just getting to the good part!" Pouting, Fuyumi argues.
"This is pointless. Fuyumi thank you for the food but its best if you and Natsuo leave." Sternly, he orders the two.
"Oh…okay." Fuyumi bows her head dejected.
"Hawks if you could guide them down." Tiredly, Endeavour tells him.
"On it." Cheekily, Hawks winks saluting the two before guiding the other two away after prying Natsuo off Bombarda, his head still down as the two leave and as soon as the doors slam shut, Katsumi's raw reds narrow when hearing…
"Bombarda…"
"Bombarda what is your relation with my son?" Sternly, Endeavour demands from the brunette before him, her arms crossed over her chest simply arching a brow bored.
"Nothing much just found him, thought he was dead on the ground, poked him a few times then got him some shade, water you know the gist." Logically, Katsumi reports to him.
"So…you and him are not involved with one another?" Endeavour leans back in his seat.
"What? No I just met the kid heck even if we did what does it have to do with you?" Strictly, she states the fact.
"He's my son!" Severely, he snaps slamming his fist onto the desk below as a sill silence lingers in the air but not one of fear instead Katsumi simply stares up at Endeavour.
"You done having your tantrum?" Bored, Katsumi questions him unfazed, much to Endeavour's slight surprise.
"This is not a tantrum!" Firmly, he snaps, his flames flickering as she simply arches a brow bored once more making him seethe.
"Really? Hitting your desk? Scorching it? Seems something a toddler would do." She gestures to the desk below making him grind his teeth together.
"What would you know?" He questions her.
"I know this, he's his own person. He can date whoever he likes." Katsumi points out.
"So you two do have…" His blues narrow veins of raw red emerging out his flames sprouting out as her raw reds narrow clashing against his bright blue.
"Oh for…I just met him of course not. Look Endeavour if you want to know about your son's love life you can ask him yourself or if you want to be involved in this life then maybe do it another way. There are so many more better ways to involve yourself than this." Tiredly, Katsumi explains to Endeavour making him grimace, glaring to the side, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Then why does he have your number?" Scowling, Endeavour demands from her making her roll her eyes exasperation.
"Cause the heat's going to get worse and where the guy was there were no heroes around so I thought he may faint again and if he was about to he'd phone me so I'd come see him." Exasperated, she answers.
"That's awfully generous of you." Sceptical, he crosses his arms over her chest.
"It's my job dumbass. He has an issue with the summer so do I. He seems like a nice kid anyway surprising considering he comes from a dumbass like you." Scowling, she points out making him grimace, glaring to the side.
"My children have always been weak when it came to their constitution to the heat so you have my thanks for looking out for them. Natsuo has always been a failure." Firmly, Endeavour informs her unaware of her twitching raw red.
"Excuse you?" Icily, she snaps but…
"He never had what it took to be what I needed." Endeavour arises from his seat.
"What you needed?" Scowling, she says.
"What the world needed, the next umber one…he may be stubborn but it's good that he has found someone with a powerful quirk…" Endeavour explains unaware of the look of sheer shock, repulsion and disgust draped over her.
"Okay so I'm going to stop you right there." Sternly, she slams her hand down on the desk.
"Hm?" His icy blues widen when his desk comes crashing down in half, papers come fluttering down as his ice blue glaring into the blazing tornado of raw red.
"If you're trying to threaten me it isn't working if anything it'll only making me pursue him out of spite, the wrong reason sure but I'm just being honest. Besides are you actually threatening me with your flames?" Furious, Katsumi's icy blue narrow, an empty curt cold heckle escaping her lips laughing at the fuming flame hero.
"And if I am?" Endeavour challenges.
"Endeavour I sweat glycerine you touching me would hurt you, would hurt everyone around me, your sidekicks, their families, you touching me would kill thousands harm hundreds or worse. Not to mention your sidekicks and co down below." She gestures below making him scowl.
Scowling, Endeavour glares down at the ground as she sighs shakily, trying to compose herself, trying to ignore the cluster of bull she just heard, feeling her blood boil, bubble, burn but she brushes it aside trying to be logical, trying to just get the job done so she can leave, despite the revelation she had just heard.
"Look I get it you care for your kid even if you deny it, it's natural you're like this but let me make this clear I have no intention of dating or pursuing any relationship. I love my job, that's all I want to do." She explains to Endeavour.
"…Is that all you want to do?" He queries confusing her.
"Huh?" Lost, she looks up at him.
"Haven't you ever considered passing on such a powerful quirk making it even more powerful? Natsuo's ice could allow more control on your body's sweat…" Endeavour begins unaware of the look of sheer disgust, repulsion, fury upon her face.
"I thought you were against us." Icily, she reminds him.
"Not necessarily if it could produce…" Endeavour begins only to blink baffled by the hand swiftly silencing him.
"Okay Endeavour if you don't shut the fuck up right here right now, I will use my sweat on you. Let me make this point again so it can get through to that thick skull of yours. I have no intention of dating nor passing over my quirk." Patiently, Katsumi tries to explain to the idiot.
"Truly? Bombarda your quirk would be a waste if you don't pass it on." Endeavour disputes.
"Look if I pass it on I do it because I love that person that's it. Natsuo's a nice kid don't get me wrong but I won't have a kid just for their quirk that isn't the sort of person I am. If that's what you want to do fine be my guest but leave me out of this fucked up family of yours understand? Your personal life, your family life is your own but such personal feelings and history shouldn't intervene with our work understand? I refuse to work with someone who tries to hook me up with their kid for some powerful quirk got it?" Furious, she snarls snapping baring her feral fangs at him.
"…I understand." Endeavour sighs.
"Damn right you do. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going back to my agency I'll see you at dinner tonight…" Scowling, she turns on her heel and heads out of the office.
"Dinner?" Confused, Endeavour blinks about to open his mouth, about to question her but is swiftly silenced by the sharp slam of the door leaving him to his own devices to continue paperwork as the number two of hero society…
*Oh boy...so what did you think of this chapter? Of Bombarda's dynamic with the Todoroki's or Endeavour?*
