"Hawks you alive?" Annoyed, the voice calls out making Hawks groan groggily, grimacing at the sharp searing sensation of his temple making him hiss.
"Urgh…" Hawks releases as he feels a hand on his shoulder making him groan at the soft shake, releasing a small purr from the fingertips ghostly touching the back of his wings. He leans into it only then to freeze, his gold hues slamming open at the strange movement causing him to jolt up alarmed, looking up, his shocked gold gazing into a pair of ruby reds.
"I'll take that as a yes." Calmly, Katsumi remarks taking a small sip of her drink as she then offers him some bottled water labelled pocari sweat.
"Hmmm…" Humming, Hawks takes said water taking a small sip of it as he finds himself draped over a sofa on his stomach, his head nestled nuzzled on the arm chair of the sofa.
"Look I'm heading out to work." Katsumi says as she takes her keys.
"I'll go." Groaning, Hawks tries to stand only to hiss form the sharp sting to his temple making her furrow her brow.
"Yeah no." Sternly, she takes his shoulder stopping him as his golds widen from the action.
"Why not?" Lost, Hawks turns to look up at her, his voice husky.
"You're hungover you're not going to work." Severely, she states the fact of the matter.
"I'm ffiiiiiine." Whingeing, he argues craning his neck back despite the searing sensation in his throbbing temple as he feels his head bruhs against her front.
"No you're not dumbass now go back to the sofa." Seriously, she orders him.
"But I don't wanna." Whining, he grumbles glaring lightly at the unfazed brunette.
"And I don't care now drink." Scowling, she points towards his drink.
"Look at you birdie being like a mother hen." Huffing, he leans back in the sofa taking another small sip of said drink.
"Someone has to make sure you don't do anything stupid." She states as she goes towards the cabinet taking out a pill, passing it over to him.
"Come on just let me go I'm a pro I can't just have a day off!" Annoyed, he huffs taking said pill, a faint ruby red tint to his cheeks as she tries to settle him down.
"Weren't you the one who told me you wanted to be a hero so other heroes could relax?" Scowling, she crosses her arms over her chest pointing out said fact.
"Yeah other heroes…" Hawks huffs, grumbling, glaring to the side scowling.
"You're entitled to having a day off dumbass we all have our limits with your muscles you risk tearing them apart, if you sprint too much you run out of breath and if you drink too much you end up like this." Calmly, Katsumi explains as she leans against the sofa, her back to Hawks as she explains looking down at her hand unaware of Hawks' gold watching on.
"Then why aren't you drunk?" Bitterly, he huffs grumbling glaring to the side bitterly making her roll her eyes, a small smirk of amusement upon her lips, oblivious of Hawk's own gold hues widening when seeing the small smile unconscious of the faint ruby red tint to his cheeks surfacing from the sight.
"Cause I ain't a lightweight." Proudly, Katsumi smirks down at Hawks, her raw reds meeting his gold as she leans down placing her hand on his head ruffling up his golden locks ignorant of his face turning beat bloodied red, bowing his head internally screaming almost at the rare sight.
"Hey I can hold my own ow!" Defensively, Hawks begins but falters from the sharp sting of his head making him cradle his tense temple.
"Clearly." Katsumi scoffs rolling her eyes settling the brat back down.
"Mean I shouldn't even have to tell you not to beat up the sick." Pouting, Hawks huffs, grumbling glaring to the side.
"And I shouldn't have to tell you not to drink on a work night." Firmly, she reminds him as she passes his drink back to her.
"And yet here we are." Hawks sighs taking another shy sip of his drink.
"Idiot. Without acknowledging these flaws we won't be able to improve and work on these flaws to be better. But to do that we need to rest, we need time to think on how we can overcome these flaws and to reflect." Resolute, she snaps at him.
"You sound just like a fortune cookie you know that?" Teasingly, Hawks chuckles.
"Just rest alright?" Annoyed, she grumbles as she turns towards the kitchen.
"Aye, aye captain." Cheekily, Hawks winks watching on as she enters the kitchen him hearing the soft clink and clang of metal ringing.
"Just shut up and eat alright?" Katsumi returns with a tray in her hands making Hawks gold hues widening when seeing said tray standing up slightly.
"You made me breakfast?" Baffled, Hawks gawks gaping down at the tray before him on his lap.
"Just shut up and eat." Scowling, she orders him.
"This is amazing." In awe, Hawks whispers.
"Idiot it's just food." Frowning, she glares to the side uninformed of the faint ruby red tint to his cheeks brushing him off.
"God tier food you made this?" Smiling, Hawks looks up at her.
"Course dumbass…don't you cook?" Confused, Katsumi stares down at him arms crossed.
"Eh more of a takeout man myself." Hawks smirks.
"That isn't a balanced diet dumbass!" Strictly, she snaps at him.
"Aww so you do care!" Coyly, he beams brightly up at her only making her seethe steam spewing out of her fuming flustered features.
"How can you survive just on takeout's? How the hell have you not had a heart attack by now?" Baffled, she demands from him.
"Talent." Smugly, he answers nibbling on the bacon before him.
"Stupidity. Urgh…have you texted your agency you won't be in?" Katsumi questions him as she turns towards the door.
"I'll be in later." He says making her stop in her steps.
"No you won't. Not before I can check." She scowls at him.
"Oh come on." Childishly, Hawks whines.
"No Hawks you're staying understand?" She tells him.
"Are you telling me what to do?" Hawks scowls crossing his arms over his chest.
"Damn right I am dumbass! I'll be back and if I find even the crack of the window open or you haven't even taken a single step out of bed I'll kill you got that!?" Angrily, she declares proclaim said fact to the unfazed Hawks a small smirk upon his lips the concern clear on her face.
"Yes mam." Mockingly, Hawks smirks saluting her playfully a small smirk of endearment upon his lips as he plops back down on the sofa slouching over it. He returns the dark depths of his dreams, curling into the pillow by his side, his nose twitching at the strange soothing smell of ash, sweat and soot, oblivious of the small sound emitting from his lips as he nestles into the plush pillow…
"You're tired…" Endeavour points out as he sits at desk, his icy blue staring at the brunette before him trying to work out some paperwork between the two agencies as she glares down at it. He notes her feral fangs twitching, twisting even as they grind together, sparks spewing out almost from the grind as he could imagine the paperwork in her hands being devoured by the flicking flames of her piercing glare, her raw reds raring, roaring, the bright blaze of red glowering down at the paperwork, the two had to work on due to a certain chicken cooped up for the time being, leaving most of the paperwork to be dealt with by the two.
"Really? What gave it the fucking way!?" Frustrated, Katsumi sneers scowling down, her raw reds meeting his icy blue.
"I take it Hawks has angered you." Calmly, Endeavour states sighing, he knew how Hawks could be sometimes, he remembered Hawks obsession with her almost. He had seen her work beforehand and he was impressed, he had to admit she was strong, her quirk was strong and her work ethic was what he could respect. Hawks on the other hand wouldn't stop talking about her, whenever the two would be patrolling, if the blonde was on screen or even she come up in the slightest he wouldn't stop talking about her somehow he would manage to slide her into the conversation, it was almost impressive to Endeavour how he'd incorporate her into it.
"The fucker tricked me!" Mad, said girl snaps scowling, glaring daggers fury laced in her tired tone, seeming to be more mad about being tricked then having to look after the man-child.
"About dinner I take." Calmly, Endeavour recalls furrowing his brow at the memory at of her storming out of his office, leaving him a tad bit befuddled but he easily brushed it off, focusing on the paperwork at hand.
"You knew?" Furious, Katsumi snaps snarling at the unfazed Endeavour simply arching a brow bored by her outburst having grown adjusted to her short temper.
"I found out when you left." Bored, Endeavour answers.
"And you didn't text me!? Or ask me?" Mad, Katsumi stomps her foot down on the ground.
"You were long gone and I had more important things to do." Deadpanned, Endeavour answers.
"I had to deal with Hawks for two hours, he got drunk and now I have to take care of his hang over ass I deserve a god damn raise for that." Grumpily, Katsumi huffs grumbling, glaring to the side scowling.
"…You have my sympathies." Endeavour bows his head, he knew how she felt far too well, Hawks could be a bit much sometimes, he had seen how much he enjoyed messing with her, he had done the same to him but Hawks was another level when it came to Katsumi. He seemed to feed off on her reactions, clearly enjoying her rage.
"ARGHHH!" Enraged, Katsumi snarls, explosions spewing out her palms, releasing a war cry almost as Endeavour simply sweat drops at the firecracker before him.
"Don't even think of destroying my furniture." Firmly, Endeavour scowls when seeing her raw reds glare dagger at his leather sofa.
"Piss off! Mother fucking…" Fed up, she snaps scowling as Endeavour groans placing his forefinger upon his temple. She reminded him a lot of his own child, of Natsuo's fiery temper, similar to his own then again he had to admit she was one of the few youngest heroes to go pro. Sure she wasn't as fast as Hawks but she still made an agency at a very young age, an admirable feast despite how young she was thrown into the world of heroes.
"Bombarda we need to talk about last time…" Tiredly, Endeavour sighs slumping his shoulders.
"If this is about the quirk marriage thing fuck off." Firmly, she snaps giving him the middle finger making his icy blue twitch, the flames flickering spewing out of him.
"No I mean…about keeping personal matters separate from hero work." Endeavour gently places his paperwork down on the desk.
"Isn't that hero 101?" Confused, Katsumi's' raw reds narrow darting from side to side scowling.
"Natsuo no doubt talked you about some aspects of myself and yet you still work with me." Endeavour sighs as she remains lost, darting from side to side once more.
"Look Natsuo hasn't told me jack but from what I've gathered you're not the best dad, you're a bag of shit. Now look, no one is perfect but here's the thing Endeavour that has nothing to do with me. That's your life that you need to sort out on your own time just as my own familiar matters is my own to deal with when I can but when it comes to the world of heroes, when it comes to the bigger picture, I don't give a shit. I may not agree with you on shit like quirk marriages and all that crap but all that matters to me is getting the job done, is saving people or keeping the peace. That's why I work with you, I may not like you but that doesn't get in the way of work. That's why I haven't acted out cause at the end of the day, I have a job to do just as you do." Determined, Katsumi explains to Endeavour his eyes widening when hearing her words.
"Bombarda…" Gently, Endeavour's blues soften.
"You may act like your family mean jack to you but that isn't the truth. We all have these ties whether we want to admit it or not we do but we can't let these ties consume us, control us, hold us back. I love my family I do but they can be shitheads sometimes whether that be because my mother has the temper of a storm and my brother is a little shit I love them both but by the end of the day. I don't let what between us get involved in a case or if they were in danger I'd save them but I'd leave them when I know my job is done cause there are more people out there who have no one, who are in need of saving. You understand?" Seriously, she elaborates.
"…I do." Dutifully, Endeavour nods his head in understanding.
"Good, glad we got that out of the way." She sighs as the two nod at one another and continue their work for the day…
"Hawks?" Frowning, Katsumi calls out as she closes the door behind her to her apartment, hearing the faint wrinkle of plastic from the bag below her in her hand. She hears the soft click of the lock as she enters her flat, furrowing her brow by the sight of the raw red feathers fluttering about the place, all over the place.
Gently, she approaches the table in the kitchen side connected to her living space, placing the plastic bag down, beginning to take out the ingredients. She notes the empty sofa making her eye twitch scowling, feeling her blood bubble, burn, boil he had one job, one job!
"In here…" Surprised, she jolts up at the low groan emitting from her bedroom? Confused, she furrows her brow as she follows the sound, finding the feathers fluttering about the place leading to a trail towards her bedroom, placing her hand flat on the door, slowly opening it to find a familiar blonde laying flat on her queen sized bed making her furrow her brow at the sight.
"Why are you in my bed?" Befuddled, Katsumi blinks baffled, trying to come to some sort of conclusion, some sort of logical conclusion towards the blonde happily nestled on top of her bed, curling into the plush pillow, a body pillow to be exact. She furrows her brow at the numerous feathers all over the bed alongside some of her own clothes draped over him and the body pillow, noting even some clothes draped all over the room, seeing her wardrobe wide open, perplexing her.
"It's comfier…" Drowsily, he whispers wiping his cheek into the body pillow as she walks over to his side, hand on her hips, noting on her bedside table, his drink fortunately empty alongside the tray, a part of her annoyed at it being dirty. But she furrows her brow at the sight of Hawks as she leans over the bed placing the back of her hand on his temple which he nuzzles into making her furrow her brow, she didn't really know much on hangovers. If she had to be honest, she was always careful when it came to alcohol. It'd be rare for her to drink due to her preference of frizzy drinks along with the effects of alcohol not really suiting her lifestyle. So she didn't really deal with it, sure Kane would have a hangover now and again but that was only really it, so she didn't really know much on hangovers much less on mutants. She had heard only scraps on how mutant bodies could be different when it came to certain sicknesses, it was why there were doctors that specialised in the mutant body.
"Right…" Sighing, she takes a step back, her anger fizzling out when seeing how delirious the blonde before her is.
"What are you doing back here?" Curious, he questions her.
"Getting my lunch." Simply, she answers.
"Oh…" Hawks trails off.
"Have you eaten anything?" She questions taking the tray from the besides alongside the drink.
"Eh bits and pieces." Aloofly, Hawks answers drawing patterns into the pillow, nuzzling into her flannel making her furrow her brow but she brushes it off.
"I swear if you bought takeout." Warningly, she scowls, her eyes narrowing noting no stench of greasiness nor any packing in the bin.
"I haven't I swear." Huffing, he grumbles whining, glaring playfully at her.
"Right then." Katsumi turns towards the door only to furrow her brow at the sweaty arms wrapping themselves around her leg.
"What are you doing?" Confused, Katsumi looks down at the blushing blonde before her, his head bowed down unable to look her in the eye as he asks the question.
"Making lunch." She answers, her raw reds softening when noting his twitching fidgeting fingertips digging deep into the fabric of her trousers, a part of her feeling a sense of deva vu from the sight.
"Katsumi are you okay?" Gently, the knock of the door echoes as Masura's meek voice reaches out to the bedridden girl, sweat slithers down her tense temple, a cool cloth is placed upon her trembling tense temple, her features ripe red as she lies on her bed, brown roots all over the place.
"I-I'm fine." Feebly, the young voice reaches out whimpering, her voice cracking.
"How's my brave little soldier doing?" Tenderly, Masura opens the door smiling softly at his daughter, her normal sharp scowl of raw reds now as soft as a strawberry even as she turns to look at her father.
"Fine please just leave it there." Trembling, Kasumi requests from her father gesturing to the tray making him furrow his brow.
"Katsumi." Sighing, Masara sighs at his eldest, he knew why she was keeping her distance but it still hurt him to see her like this. someone so young, knowing well what her quirk could do, paranoid with the damage that her quirk could cause in her sickly state.
"I'm really sweaty dad you know what that means." Gravely, she confesses ot her father.
"Katsumi it's okay." Softly, he tries to tell her reaching out to her but she shakes her head, recoiling back, fang plastered upon her paranoid facial features fatigued as he notes her trembling form, breaking his heart.
"No it's not. Please for your own sake stay back besides don't you have a important shoot you and mama should get going too." The girl reminds Masara making him flinch from her words, he should have known she'd overheard, she was smarter than most kids her age, she was quiet, some say stoic but she was just watching as she always did.
"Your mother's there so it's fine." Feebly, he smiles down at her.
"Dad someone has to make sure mama doesn't go mental besides you've been talking about this shoot for weeks." Firmly, she reminds him her fingertips flexing around her duvet grabbing a bundle of fabric shaking quivering, quaking.
"I can't just leave you alone." Scowling, he points out to his little girl bowing her head.
"It's okay dad I'll be fine, this shoots important to you isn't it?" She argues just as the familiar vibrations of the phone echo.
"Katsumi…" Masura sighs glancing over at his phone only to sigh as he places the tray of apple slices down, cut into cute bunnies before heading out of the room, answering said phone. Shyly, she looks over at the plate of sliced apples reaching out and taking one. She begins nibbling on it, her brow furrowed at the lack of taste but the texture of juices more than makes up for it. She hears her father's hushed hisses no doubt at the co-worker conflicted making her sigh sadly bowing her head as he returns looking pained, disgraced, guilty even.
"I promise dad I'm okay. You can rely on me!" Strained, she smiles at her father bowing his head nodding, promising he'll be back before heading off towards the studio leaving the lone girl to nibble upon the apple slices of bunnies.
Focused, Katsumi furrows her brow as she sips from the small saucepan of sorts, setting the broth below further furrowing her brow at the taste, a part of her tempted to put more spice into it only to falter from a certain ruby red feather fluttering to the side of her. She thought she got rid of it, urgh she couldn't cook in a dirty kitchen. Stupid feathers but still she couldn't add too much spice, she didn't really know his spice threshold. She herself loved spice but she knew those that spice did not agree with them, remembering many of the times Kane had foolishly stolen her food from the fridge only to greet it hours later, clutching his stomach questioning if her stomach was made of steel. It wasn't her fault his stomach was weak. She wouldn't be beaten by spice besides she grew up tasting spicy stuff, did they not know how much she had to dimmer it down for those two morons?
"Wow you're really good with that knife is it programmed into your hand or something?" Impressed, Hawks whispers snapping Katsumi out of her thoughts, flinching from the voice turning to the blonde leaning against the doorframe peering in, smiling softly at the sight of the scowling brunette.
"Course not dumbass. Hey what are you doing out of bed?" Scowling, she demands from him as he takes a few shy steps inside.
"I feel better." Simply, Hawks shrugs smiling softly at her.
"You don't look as red as you did before…" Hawks hues widen when she places the back of her hand on his temple, her brow furrowed as her raw reds peer at his pokerfaced, simply smiling at her.
"Guess it's all thanks to your amazing caring skills." Smoothly, he answers making her scowl, a faint ruby red tint to her cheeks surfacing.
"…Dumbass. What are you even doing?" Scowling, she demands from him arms crossed over her chest.
"Enjoying the view." Mischievously, he winks making her raw red twitch.
"Dumbass…since you like staring off into space how about you do something more productive." Scowling, she shoves the knife in his hands.
"Hm?" His eyes expand at the sight of the blade.
"You can chop the ingredients since you're fine now." She guides him over to the counter, sliding the chopping board his way making his eyes widen alarmed almost at the job.
"Wait…I thought this was for you?" Confused, he gestures to the soup making her scowl at him.
"You think I can eat all of that?" Baffled, she furrows her brow at him.
"You…you're making me food?" Flustered, Hawks' gold hues widen when hearing said news.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Lost, she questions him, he had been sick and was staying at her place, she'd be a pretty shitty person to just kick him out let alone make food and just leave him out of it, he was her guest as much as it pained for her to say he was and if her mother had done anything it was pound into her head how to treat guests.
"Never really had anyone make me food before well except the takeout guys heh." Hawks jokes, a strained smirk upon his lips making her furrow her brow.
"Hmph. Just get chopping and remember what I said about the Takoyaki." Sternly, she reminds him bringing a small smirk to his lips, chuckling.
"Uniform order yeah, yeah I remember don't worry captain I won't let you down." Playfully, he winks at her.
"Damn right you won't if you do I'll kill you!" She snaps at him only making him chuckle, shaking his head at her.
"I'm sure heh…still its pretty unnerving how good you are with that knife." Teasingly, he wiggles a brow bemused by her skill.
"My mother taught me." Katsumi shrugs stating the fact, her crimson currents softening perking Hawk's interest.
"Your mother? What's she like?" Curious, Hawks asks amused.
"She's something." Katsumi glances to the side scowling.
"Something?" Hawks snickers.
"Let's just say she's very…passionate about things." Tiredly, Katsumi slumps her shoulders.
"Like you?" Teasingly, Hawks jokes.
"Try another level." Grimly, Katsumi states.
"Another level of passion? I find that hard to believe." Hawks smirks at her.
"And I find it hard to believe you should be standing." Sternly, she reminds Hawks.
"I told you I'm fine." Hawks huffs craning his neck back.
"Fine but if you even feel lightheaded…." Warily, Katsumi warns him.
"I'll go back to bed I promise. You know you're pretty good at this taking care of stuff." Smirking, he places his hands up in mock surrender.
"Eh I used to look after my little brother when he was ill." Katsumi answers as she takes a shy sip from the plate once more, brow furrowed.
"Where were your parents?" Hawks asks curios peering overhear shoulder as she offers the bowl to him which he takes a shy sip of.
"More spice would be nice…" Hawks mutters making Katsumi nod in approval.
"They'd have a shoot or something. They'd come by of course but I'd normally look after them." She takes out a few chilli flakes pouring it into the broth before stirring said substance.
"You were quite the independent kid." Impressed, Hawks perches himself on top of the counter.
"Guess so what about you?" She questions him.
"Me?" Hawks flinches from it making Katsumi's raw reds narrow.
"Yeah your folks what did they do if you were ill?" She asks him.
"Uh well…" Hawks trails off, brow furrowed.
"Forget it." She brushes him off.
"Huh?" His gold widen when hearing her response.
"You clearly aren't comfortable talking about it. You don't have to say anything you don't want to." Truthfully, she tells him as his eyes widen. He hadn't heard someone respond with that even on the talk shows when they asked he'd brush it off with a joke but here…
"You don't….?" Gently, he whispers, his brow furrowed, he met many who when asked would get annoyed with him from it.
"You clearly look uncomfortable talking about it so don't force yourself. You don't need to tell me anything." She shrugs stating the fact of it.
"You're…not mad?" Mystified, Hawks brow furrows.
"Why would I be?" Befuddled, she furrows her brow at him.
"You took care of me." Hawks points out.
"And you paid for our food. I'm repaying you besides the past doesn't matter. What happened happened, looking back on the past does nothing but make you upset. What matters is the present, the future, the person you are now not the person you were." Firmly, Katsumi states making Hawks' eyes widen when hearing her words seeing her look over her arm.
"Katsumi…" Gently, Hawks whispers, his brow furrowed.
"Now come on you've just been focusing on the meat, start chopping the veg they are just as important as the meat." Playfully, she lightly elbows into his side bringing a small smile to his lips.
"Yes mam…" Hawks bows his head smiling softly as he complies, helping her out…
"You okay there feathers?" Frowning, Katsumi furrows her brow as she sees the raw red feathers float about the place seeing the table and such as Katsumi furrows her brow at the thought, pondering on the topic of hygiene. But her question is brushed aside when noting Hawks on the other side more importantly his leg bouncing up and down impatiently reminding her of her brother if he was frustrated but the difference being Hawks wings twitching, more feathers fluttering out making her furrow her brow at the notice so she called out to him, trying to get to the main issue of the problem. Was eating with her that intimidating?
"What? Course I am I'm a pro, number three at that." Boastfully, Hawks smirks smugly only making Katsumi's raw red narrow at his so called answer.
"You didn't answer my question." Smoothly, she points out as she pours the broth into a bowl passing it over to him before pouring herself a batch.
"I think I did." Scoffing, Hawks brushes her off making her furrow her brow but she sighs, just wanting to eat.
"Just cause you're a hero doesn't mean you can cook dumbass." Scowling, she states the fact of the matter, she had seen how nervous he seemed from cooking and from his slow movement he clearly hadn't been trained to cook.
"And how do you know that?" Hawks challenges her making her sigh, not wishing to point out said errors, she wasn't that rude, this was clearly a sensitive issue for the blonde bird.
"Did you forget what I told you before dumbass?" Tiredly, she sighs as she looks over at her food.
"Hm?" Hawks hums as he takes out his chopsticks with her doing the same.
"We all have our limitations, our weakness it's why we take breaks to reflect and find this weakness to get better." Firmly, she reminds him only making him further furrow his brow baffled.
"I thought you were talking about quirks." Lost, Hawks points out making her exhale once more.
"It isn't just about quirks it can be used for most things in life. There's no such thing as a perfect person after all no matter how hard the media try to show heroes to be perfect, no one is not even those that protect the people. Even then they shouldn't be judged for being human…Why are you giving me that look?" Annoyed, Katsumi elaborates before going off into a small tangent, her brow furrowed, her nose wrinkling up as she feels her blood bubble, boil, burn at the sheer topic at hand only then to falter, feeling her bubbling boiling blood simmer from the soft sound of a chuckle making her turn to Hawks smirking shyly at her.
"You really do sound like a fortunate cookie or one of those cool ancient sages." Smirking, he can't help but compare making her eye twitch, no quite sure if that's a compliment or not.
"It's common-sense dumbass when you break your muscle fibres you need to give them time to heal to reinforce themselves and get stronger the same could be applied to your wings with moulting could it not?" Sternly, she points out making Hawks own gold hues widen at the observation. She notes his wings stiffen when she gestures to them.
"A fair point heh you're pretty smart for a brawler Katsumi." Teasingly, Hawks winks at her making her furrow her brow.
"And you're pretty stupid for a kid." Katsumi counters scoffing as she begins eating noting Hawks hesitation confusing her.
"Hey we're the same age." Annoyed, he huffs crossing his arms over his chest pouting.
"Then act like it." Irritated, she deadpans at the moron making him lean back in his seat, sulking.
"Hey Kasumi…" Shyly, Hawks probes at the food in his bowl.
"What?" Katsumi furrows her brow when noting his darkened gold gleaming.
"Did I…say anything weird last night?" He questions making her flinch from the question, bowing her head.
Loudly, the blonde cries at the stunned brunette clinging to her side as she simply holds him as he warbles, whines, whimpering, saying so much so fast that the startled Katsumi had no idea how to process how to even…all that she felt she could do was hug hum as he cried his heart out to her.
"…No." Sternly, she snaps making Hawks flinch from the sheer severity in her tense tone.
"Oh cool. Bottoms up right? Heh…" Lightly, he tries to change topic noting the tighten tense air lifting around them.
"Right…why are you staring?" Perplexed, she notes Hawk staring at her as she takes a small sip from her bowl.
"Nothing just…what do you think?" Hawks asks her.
"What do you mean?" Mystifed, she quirks her head to the side.
"Is it okay? The chicken I mean…I know sounds silly but…" Hawks scratches the back of his head smiling shyly.
"No." Sternly, she cuts him off.
"Huh?" Hawks asks alarmed, his eyes dilating.
"It's not silly. You seemed surprisingly focused on cooking, it was relieving to see you not mess about for once. The chunks are good not the best but we can work with this." Truthfully, she sighs placing her chopsticks down as she reports her findings.
"Huh? Work with…?" Hawk whispers.
"Living on takeout is not good for you Hawks." She states the fact to him.
"So you're going to teach me?" Hopeful, he asks noting her tired sigh.
"Someone has to dumbass." Grumpily, she turns glaring to the side ignoring the brief heat to her cheeks as he beams brightly at the news.
"Wow to be gifted the divine cooking of Katsumi and then being told the Katsumi would teach me how to cook, how lucky am I." Chirpily, Hawks smiles leaning in.
"Moron just eat your food." Firmly, she prods him in the temple with her chopsticks but he simply smiles unfazed by it acting as if nothing could ruin his mood now making her grumble, glaring to the side at the sheer intensity of his smile.
"Gladly." Undeterred, he smiles happy to take part in their first cooking lesson, the start of many to come…
*So what did you think of this chapter? How do you think Hawks will be like towards Katsumi's family? As always would love to know your thoughts!*
