"You two did good for today." Endeavour tells the two standing before his desk, Katsumi standing tall while Hawks hobbles on his feet.
"Aw thanks Endeavour we can just feel you warming up to us." Cheekily, Hawks winks at their supposed boss.
"Urgh…." Endeavour grunts rolling his eyes.
"What? It's funny ." Frowning, Hawks huffs turning to Katsumi for backup but…
"It really isn't." Tiredly, Katsumi sighs hands on her hips.
"Bombarda." Endeavour r calls out to her.
"Hm?" Katsumi turns to Endeavour.
"Your arm, I expect you'll be having a few days off until your arm comes back from repair." Resolved, Endeavour gathers tidying the stack of paper presented before him.
"Yeah if you're worrying about paperwork I'll be happy to do extra to make up for it." Katsumi offers brow furrowed.
"Good. I'll send you some copies tomorrow." Endeavour nods his head in understanding, dismissing them both. Katsumi leaves, shakily sighing, brow furrowed, staring down at her arm, trying to brush back the eyes on her, the thought trying to slip in, trying to brush back the sense of helplessness. She hated this, she would have to wait a while for her arm to be repaired she would have to sit still doing paperwork while her men would be doing work.
"So…" Surprised, she jolts up at her voice, hearing the soft slam of the door echoing as she turs to see Hawks.
"So?" Katsumi arches a brow at the male by her side, hands shoved in his jacket pockets, his feathers flaring up protectively around her.
"You coming down for drinks with us right? Or do you wanna stay in and watch the countdown? I'm down for both." Hawks asks her.
"Hawks…I'm going to my parents." Sighing, she reminds him.
"Oh right…" Hawks trails off.
"Look didn't you say Mirko invited you? Go and enjoy yourself." Katsumi sighs.
"But…you won't be there." Whining, Hawks drapes himself over her making her eye twitch.
"Miriko will be you like her." Tiredly, she reminds him as she pries him off, the two standing side by side, a fair few eyeing the two.
"…I do But…" Teasingly, Hawks furrows his brow, bringing her into a side hug.
"But what?" Sighing, she furrows her brow up at him.
"…" Silently, he leans in nuzzling into the side of her neck.
"Hawks?" Katsumi furrows her brow by his silence, feeling the faint fibres of his stubble brush against her neck.
"Whose taking you to your parents?" Curious, Hawk asks.
"I phoned dad he's going to pick me up from my place." Casually, Katsumi shrugs.
"And how are you going to get back to your place now?" Warily, Hawks furrows his brow.
"…Walk?" Confused, Katsumi answers.
"Yeah no." Scowling, he refuses.
"What do you mean n-HAWKS THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" Alarmed, Katsumi screams, shouting, screeching when Hawks picks Katsumi up bridal style making her scream.
"All board the hawk express." Unfazed, Hawk exclaims as Katsumi shaking wraps her arm around Hawks only making his smirk widen when hearing her sharp squeal.
"HAWKS WHATEVER YOU'RE THINKING…!" Terrified, Katsumi grimaces, her iron grip around Hawks in the crook of his neck only making his smirk widen when feeling her nestle into his neck.
"Lift off!" Proudly, he proclaims, lifting his wings up as they leave the agency and head out, feeling the cool crisp gushing gales brush through her blonde locks.
"HAWKS I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Screeching, she wails at him only making his smile widen.
"YOU'LL BE TAKING US BOTH DOWN THEN DOVE!" He tells her as the sroar through the air his grip tightening around her.
"Urgh! Hate you so much hate you so much right now!" Scared, she flails around him, burying her face into his neck, feeling his coat gently brush against her cheek, seeking solace only making his smile widen.
"Hahahah sure you do dove." Endearingly, he smiles softly down at her nuzzling into his side.
"I could very well plummet to my death at any minute." Scared, she points out clinging to his side.
"Maybe during this minute you could look down." Dubiously, Hawks tells her.
"Isn't that what they tell you not to do?" Scowling, she glares up at his coy smirk.
"Oh come on we all do it." Vivaciously, he wiggles a brow.
"Fine…" Sighing, she slumps her shoulders, looking down only making her raw reds widen when seeing the bright blaring lights below.
"Beautiful right? The bright lights…they're something else." Endearingly, he smiles down at her, his gold melting when seeing her stunned facial features.
"…" Silently, she stares down at the lights below, feeling her throat tighten, no words being able to describe the beauty before her very eyes.
"If we were on a TV show, do you think the viewers would ship us?" Curious, Hawks asks Katsumi snapping her out of her thoughts.
"What kind of question is that?" Chuckling, she snickers.
"Come on…" Whining, his grip on her tightens.
"Fine, fine…considering people are already shipping us probably." Sighing, she gives him that.
"So you know…" He smirks her.
"It's been hammered in my head you don't help it with the posts either." Snippily, she remarks earning a small snicker to his lips.
"Hey they are the ones to assume." Hawks tries to defend himself only making her scoff.
"Hawks your last post had your arm around me with a smoothie." Smirking, she reminds him.
"That was a good smoothie." Fondly, Hawks smiles at the memory, she didn't know how he did it his photos always made her look far better than she did in real life, some of the photos she liked a lot…others she would hate regardless he'd post them, loving each and every one for the strangest of reasons.
"I was just shocked you didn't have a chicken smoothie." Amused, Katsumi remarks.
"You think they'd make that?" Hopeful, his gold gleam at the thought.
"For you probably." Bluntly, Katsumi considers.
"Ooh! They should make a slushie for us, what would our flavours be though…I could see you being something spicy." Humming, Hawks considers.
"In a slushie?" Sceptical, Katsumi's raw reds narrow.
"Yeah maybe not…maybe cheery." Hawks ponders out loud.
"I can see that." Katsumi nods her head in agreement.
"What would be me?" Hawks asks.
"Maybe chocolate or vanilla" Unsure, Katsumi blurts out making Hawks furrow his brow.
"Chocolate and vanilla in a slushie?" Scowling, he quirks his head to the side.
"I don't do slushies okay?" Huffing, Katsumi grumbles.
"Yeah you do like your coffee as black as your soul with a pinch of sugar maybe to show your sweet side deep down." Teasingly, Hawks points out making Katsumi groan.
"Stoooop." Sighing, she cranes her neck back unaware of Hawk's chuckle happy to hear her heartbeat.
"Oh come on I see the tough act you make black coffee and when people are around take a sip but as soon as people leave your nose scrunches up and you pour a truck load of sugar. Still like them but it's rare to find a vendor. We should get one." Hawk's gold widen at the idea.
"Wouldn't we need a licence?" Frowning, Katsumi points out.
"Wouldn't we use it to our hearts content?" Coolly, Hawks counters.
"Fine but where would we put it?" Intrigued, Katsumi asks him.
"In my office then you could come visit." Excited, Hawks beams brightly at the thought.
"It'd be easy for you to visit me though." Truthfully, Katsumi points out, he was the one with wings.
"Oh so you enjoying my visits Katsu?" Suggestively, he smirks.
"…." Silently, she rolls her eyes at him as he leans into her side, nuzzling her cheek.
"Silence speaks golden Katsu you like me you liiike-" Cockily, Hawks says in a sing song tone only then to falter, unaware of his grip loosening until…
"Hawks!" Screeching, Katsumi cries out alerting Hawks.
"SHIT!" Hawks swoops down swiftly catching said girl, wrapping his arms around her. He flaps his wings, his body catching hers as they come crashing down on a rooftop of some sort, the two groaning, Hawks having caged her down, the two rolling onto the rooftop.
"HAWKS I'M GOING TO F-" Fuming, Katsumi seethes snarling, baring her feral fangs at him only to falter from the hands suddenly on her face.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I…I…Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you…?" Frantically, Hawks repeats rapidly, confusing Katsumi hearing his words turn blurry, ringing.
"Hawks? " Concerned, Katsumi's features falter form the hitch of his voice, his glassy gold.
"I didn't…I didn't…" Hawks pushes Katsumi away making her grimace at the sharp sting in her chest, her raw reds softening sadly at the heaving mess, cradling his chest.
"Hey, hey it's okay, I'm fine, you're fine." Firmly, she promises him slowly walking over to his side, kneeling down by his side, placing her hands over his bigger, larger ones, his glassy gold gazing into her shaking ruby reds.
"No you're not! Fuck! You could have died you could have…"Heaving, Hawks whispers, his voice cracking, breaking, blinking back the tears threatening to descend down.
"But I'm not. I'm right here Hawks…just count, follow my breathing." Softly, she whispers as he follows her breathing, brow furrowed.
"But…you could have died." Sniffling, Hawks' voice breaks bowing his head.
"I'm stronger than that." Tenderly, she whispers, a small smile upon her lips
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. It's alright, it's alright if you don't want to…" Hawks repeats, his voice cracking breaking as Katsumi's reds expand when hearing his words.
"Hey stop that." Sternly, she bonks him on the head.
"Huh?" Hawks blurts out taken aback by her firm frown.
"Look if I really was uncomfortable with you, I would have blasted you to the moon. I chose to hang out with you because you are you. Not because we're co-workers, not because we're pros, not because you're Hawks. I chose your company because I enjoy your company, because I trust you, because you're my friend and I ain't leaving you anytime soon." Sternly, she tells him making his hues widen.
"But friends don't…kill each other." Dejected, Hawks whispers.
"Yeah well where's the fun in being normal. Come on how about we head home?" Softly, she smiles down at Hawks, offering his hand out to him.
"I can't…" Hawks grimaces glaring at his feathers.
"We don't need to we can walk and talk." Smiling, Katsumi tells him as Haws bows his head needing a moment until…
"…Okay." Shakily, he sighs sliding his hand into hers as the two head down the steps of the building making their way down to the streets.
"…" Katsumi stares ahead as a fair few gasp at the sight of Hawks but Katsumi's sharp scowl easily wards his fans away.
"…" Quietly, Hawks stands staring ahead, his gold glassy, his back slouched her hand around his.
"Mango." Katsumi blurts out.
"Mango?" Mystifed, Hawks flinches form her voice turning to look down at him.
"Your slushie flavour with mine, cherry and mango." Katsumi smiles softly up at Hawks, his eyes expanding when hearing her words.
"That doesn't sound nice." Tightly, he smiles strained.
"Maybe…not at first but maybe as you take more sips you begin to appreciate it more." Tentatively, Katsumi reasons softly sliding her hand into his making his yellows widen when feeling her hand in his.
"I…I'm sorry I…I'll never do that again." Anxiously, he squeezes her hand.
"Don't say that." Tiredly, she sighs at him.
"Huh?" Hawks repeats once more.
"Hawks we all make mistakes." Katsumi sighs.
"I could have killed you." Hawks hisses scowling.
"But you didn't. Look Hawks my panicking didn't help you along with my flailing I just with my arm…" Sighing, Katsumi attempts to explain staring solemnly at her empty sleeve.
"You feel vulnerable." Hawks gathers brow furrowed.
"Yeah…I just some days I'm used to it some days I'm not and…" Katsumi brow furrows.
"I'm sorry…for pushing you." Hawks apologizes.
"It's alright Hawks it's okay now come on let's go home yeah?" She looks up at him stopping in her steps, her hand nestled in his.
"Back to the nest?" Hopeful, Hawks asks leaning in, his temple touching hers.
"Back to the nest." Fondly, Katsumi smiles softly up at Hawks his golds glistening. He looks down at her, her raw reds meeting his glimmering gold. She feels his hand coil around her own, squeezing it as they head home.
