Quietly, Katsumi sits down on the chair before her, aisles and aisles of suits standing tall, suited statues stand tall towering over Katsumi calmly reading the book in her hand. Many of the statues show an array of suits some with four trouser legs, some with six sleeves, others to accommodate other potential customers waiting patiently for the person to reveal themselves from the changing rooms, ignoring the fair few employees watching on looking lovestruck, in awe almost as a heavy hue of ruby red smears upon their cheeks, cheerily giggling, gawking at the two customers before them.
So what do you think?" Smirking, Hawks asks as he brushes the ruby red material to the side smirking smugly smiling at Katsumi remaining glued to the book before her, making Hawks furrow his brow at the sight.
You look amazing Hawks!"
"You look handsome!"
"You look magnificent!"
Eagerly, the other workers rush in praising, complimenting the hero, the heavy hue of ruby red smeared upon his cheeks deepening darkening. Hawk simply smiles politely dismissing the people swarming surrounding him as his glistening gold glue upon the stoic Katsumi simply silently reading her book engrossed with it almost that is until a flimsy feather from Hawks gently snaps the book from Katsumi making her blink baffled by the swift tug back to reality. Her raw reds jolt up looking up at Hawks before sighing, swiftly snatching back said book as she stands up, her ruby red glare swiftly dismissing the workers some glaring, some lowering, some looking fearful towards the brunette, some scurry away anxiously at the sheer sight of the woman before them.
"Well for once you don't look like babyface." Katsumi remarks gently pinching his chin making his smile widen while the workers around them give Bombarda a dirty look, glaring, glowering at her, envy emitting out of the workers, glaring at the two in their own little world. Hawks happily smiles staring at her finding her scrunched up nose, focusing on the suit at hand to be rather endearing cute even at the sight.
"Hey people love this face." Smugly, Hawks smirks at her.
"For reasons that I will never understand." Lightly, Katsumi softly slaps his cheek.
"Oh come on you love this face." Flirtatiously, Hawks hollers snickering smirking leaning into the plush palm of her palm.
"It certainly looks punchable right now." Katsumi squeezes his cheeks playfully.
"Aw come on you wouldn't hurt me." Haughty, Hawks leans in his temple touching her own.
"And you know that?" Sceptical, she arches a brow at Hawks.
"I know you for one. Still since we're here maybe we should get you formal wear." Hawks considers coyly smiling at the thought.
"Why? You're the one going to the party." Puzzled, Katsumi furrows her brow befuddled, it was what mutant month was leading up to…
"Come on it'll be fun." Smiling, Hawks exclaims.
"No Hawks you and I both know it will lead to more trouble than its worth." Katsumi furrows her brow befuddled.
"So you would go if it weren't such a big deal." Dubiously, Hawks wiggles a brow bemused.
"…I have no idea what you're implying." Katsumi scowls crossing her arms over her chest cross.
"Just putting it out there. " Hawks places his hands up in mock surrender.
"And I'm putting it back just as you should the bow tie." Tiredly, Katsumi prods at the bowtie.
"Wha? Come on everyone loves the bowtie." Bemused, Hawks smirks.
"Hawks that's a clip on." Tiredly, Katsumi sighs.
"…So?" Hawks raises a brow squirming slightly.
"Can you…can you not do a tie?" Katsumi questions curious.
"Whaaa course I can." Coyly, Hawks smiles strained.
"Alright then try." Katsumi steps back after taking the bow tie off.
"Did you pick this out for me?" Meekly, Hawks smiles softly as Katsumi drapes the tie over his shoulders.
"…Just put it on." Impatiently, Katsumi steps back, smirking, a glint gleaming in her ruby reds.
"You're sweet." Softly, Hawks smiles at the unamused Katsumi crossing her arms over her chest cross.
"So trying to weasel your way out of this and put it on." Severely, she warns Katsumi.
"…Fine. Urgh!" Pouting, Hawks childishly begins brow furrowed as he tries to but falters, furrowing his brow…
"Thought as much." Merrily, Katsumi smirks smugly sauntering over to him.
"Laughs all you want." Huffing, Hawks slumps his shoulders.
"Why would I laugh about this?" Smirking, Katsumi places her hands on his shoulders.
"Because I'm a grown adult who can't do a tie." Hawks huffs, furrowing his brow at her.
"Hawks I thought you of al people would know adults are nothing but children trying to work out adulthood you are literally the embodiment of that." Tenderly, Katsumi assures Hawks, tying his tie.
"…So I'm a man child." Hawks concludes pouting puffing his cheeks.
"Exactly. But that's just another part of you that I find amusing." Smirking, she softly slaps his cheeks cheerily bringing a small smile to his lips.
"Still I wonder what dress you'd like." Humming, Hawks smiles at the thought.
"I prefer suits." Katsumi shrugs her shoulders.
"Suits? Kat…" Hawk's features falter from her words.
"What? It's an eyesore. Besides suits can make me move more." Katsumi shrugs her shoulders.
"…I don't think it is." Hawks shrugs his shoulders.
"You may not but others would beg to differ." Katsumi remarks.
"And you care about what they think?" Hawks furrows his brow.
"Of course not but if I can deal with no paparazzi I'd prefer that." Katsumi exclaims.
"…You ever worn a dress?" Curious, Hawks asks.
"When I was younger yes." Katsumi nods her head remembering the shoots her mother would have her go to.
"Bet you looked pretty." Perkily, Hawks winks.
"I doubt it most people thought I was glaring at them." Tiredly, Katsumi shrugs.
"Ah resting-" Hawks says.
"No actually during those times it was mainly the light, the light would make me glare and apparently they liked that." Katsumi grimaces at the memory.
"Well you glare does have certain effects on people." Playfully, Hawks winks at her.
"I'm sure. If I had to be honest I much prefer women with suits they just pull it off." Katsumi nods her head at the memory, she remembered what got her into suits, she saw this model who had brown hair with hints of blonde, it made her consider dying her hair she didn't know what it was but the confidence oozes out of her from the page, she liked it, she did…
"I bet you'd look great in a suit." Smirking, Hawks drapes his arm over her.
"Not happening Hawks." Sternly, she shuts him down.
"Eh it was worth a try." Teasingly, he shrugs smirking just as her phone goes off making her furrow her brow, taking out her phone feeling her heart drop out from the text from the unknown number, with the location in text with the picture showing a familiar ruby red eyes child with long wavy white locks, making Katsumi's heart drop, shatter sadly at the sad sight of the child…
"Hello Eri…" Gently, Katsumi whispers watching on sat down on the rim of the sand pit wearing her casual clothes as she smiles softly at the ruby red eyed girl before her happily content with playing with the sand below. She soon perks up at her voice.
"B-Bombi!" Beaming, Eri perks up at the girl before her hugging her.
"Good to see you too Eri. What are you making?" Shyly, she smiles back at the girl holding her, her ruby reds faltering how many times had they done this? Katsumi didn't know, with each visit she made with each departure the two made, the more she felt like the failure of a hollow hero that she was.
"A-A castle Ryoma got me a bucket." Shyly, she reveals said ruby red bucket to her.
"How pretty I bet you could make a really big tower." Tentatively, she tells Eri nodding her head.
"Uh huh I wanna make a massive castle!" Eri says shyly.
"How are you Eri?" Gently, Bombarda's ruby red falter solemnly sadly at the bandaged coiled around her battered, beaten, bruised feeble form.
"I…I'm..." Shyly, she bows her head into the crook of Katsumi's shoulder.
"She's fine." Firmly, the voice calls out making her jolt up at the voice.
"…The bandages beg to differ." Disgusted, Katsumi seethes, feeling her blood boil, bubble, burn she didn't know why she even agreed to meet up like she has maybe she wanted to see the child to at least as selfish as it sounded to know she was alive, to know she was breathing to know she was bringing some sort of light to the girl…as arrogant as that sounded.
"Really? Is that the attitude you take to someone who bought you coffee?" Coyly, Ryoma winks as he takes a seat by the tables outside the café where the park is near to.
"Eri why don't you continue playing I'd love to see this castle of yours." Softly, Katsumi smiles tentatively at the child, placing her hand on her hair ruffling her locks.
"O-Okay! I'll make it huge!" Happily, Eri tells her.
"I'm sure you will." Smiling, Katsumi nods her head at the girl.
"I saw you fight with Springer good friend of mine he was actually hoping to have surgery." Scowling, Ryoma remarks sipping his coffee.
"Surgery?" Scowling, she stands over the male, his leg over the other.
"He hated his legs he wanted to get normal legs." Ryoma reveals gesturing to the other seat opposite her.
"Normal legs?" Lost, Katsumi furrows her brow slowly sliding down, taking a seat.
"Prosthetics he hated his legs you know, he could barely get into his apartment without hitting his head against the wall and that's not even going into the number of apartments he was kicked out for being too loud not his fault if his legs just spring up you know?" Ryoma shrugs helpless as Katsumi simply stares down at the iced coffee, a part of her scowling at the sight, how did he know what she ordered? Sure they would go to cafes from time to time in their teens, her often paying for them but for him to remember her order was…
"Didn't he have a job?" Scowling, she furrows her brow at him.
"He had an office job…till he hit the light. Painful procedure even, his whole scalp had glass and burns, had to go into hospital." Ryoma exclaims.
"….Ouch." Katsumi winces.
"Yep. His word didn't cover him, didn't have the insurance for it so he was sacked de to how often this was happening. The light being the final straw. His girlfriend then processed to dump him saying some bull about not being able to handle having a boyfriend constantly moving around but from what I saw in that phone of hers she was clearly cheating." Calmly, Ryoma explains to Katsumi breaking the biscuit to his side, tossing it to the ground below for the pigeons to feast upon.
"…How do you know so much?" Warily, Bombarda ruby reds narrow at Ryoma unaware of another child soon stomping in until…
"My castle!" Crying, Eri whimpers upset sniffling whimpering at the sad sight of the ruined remains of her sandy castle thanks to the chuckling children around her.
"That's what you get horn head!" The child snaps snickering at the whimpering girl.
"Tch brat get up!" Annoyed, Ryoma roars at the sniffling child.
"Ryoma hold on!" Scowling, Bombarda bellows calling out, standing from her seat when seeing Ryoma rush over to the scene, snarling baring his feral fans at the children and Eri, the kids swiftly fleeing frighted by the male.
"That's not good enough!" Enraged, he reaches out about to snatch the scared Eri who slams her eyes shut fearing for the iron claps chains.
"And that's enough." Sternly, Katsumi snaps sharply swiftly snatching Ryoma by his wrist, his crisp coal hues glaring into her raw reds, stoically scowling up at the redhead before her before grunting, reeling his hand back, shoving his hands into his pockets, swiftly snatching his fist drinking it in one gulp while Katsumi turns to the child below her.
"It's alright now…" Softly, she whispers to Eri, her gently ruby reds gazing into the little girl's own as she picks the sniffling girl up, feeling the girl's arms wrap around her as she sniffles. She approaches the café table, taking out a small side biscuit courtesy of the coffee offered as she offers it to Eri, her ruby reds widening when seeing said biscuit which she merrily munches on, clinging to Bombarda's side, drawing patterns into her back, trying to comfort the crying child, sniffling, nuzzling, nestling into her side.
"It's time we go Eri." Ryoma calls out to the girl freeing from the voice.
"P-Please don't go…" Pleadingly, Eri begs breaking Bombarda's heart.
"Eri. Here now." Ryoma orders sternly sharply.
"She's not your dog." Bombarda snaps scowling at Ryoma but…
"And she's not your problem unless you want there to be one." Smoothly, Ryoma smirks smugly as Bombarda's eyes expand when feeling something rudely prod into her, her raw reds narrowing at the gun practically stabbed into the side of her leg underneath the table. He smirks smugly at her, baring his feral fangs at her. She seethes, feeling small sparks of explosion emit from her fingertips ready to blast him only to blink baffled when feeling the weight of Eri jump down from her.
"Eri?" Softly, Bombarda whispers watching the girl, her heart aching when seeing the sniffling child's darkened expressions, clinging clutching her shakily before slowly raking a shaky step back, biting her upper lip.
"P-please forget about me…" Meekly, Eri whispers as Bombarda watches on as the girl makes her way to Ryoma's side slowly sliding her hand in his, his hand clasping her own as they leave, leaving Bombarda alone, feeling nothing but guilt, pain and disappointment wash over her form.
"Boss!" Haneul and Kane chorus watching on helplessly as they chase after the jewel thief fighting him in the middle of the road where Bombarda dodges said swipe from his sharp tail only then for her hues to widen when he wraps his tail around her prosthetic, tugging it forward and…
"You mother…" Mad, Bombarda curses staring stunned at her now empty sleeve, her prosthetic having been flung off her as the scorpion male smirks smugly at her, his brown braid dangling down the side of his head, his purple hues gleaming glistening. He stretches his tail out attempting to thrust it at her, trying to sharply stab her making her hiss, cursing at him.
"Could use a hand over here!" Huffing, Bombarda hollers seething, feeling her blood boil, bubble, burn adrenaline courses through her veins as she sloppy dives out of the way of the male only then for her hues to widen when a sudden stomp echoes throughout the room, a boisterous blast of sound striking at the scorpion male crying out clutching his head distracted. Urgently, Bombarda dives out of the way from the harsh hits, turning to see Kane on standby releasing wave after wave while Haneul rushes in, staff in hand, swiftly striking the butt of said staff into the gut of the scorpion, gawking gaping at the sudden strike. Salvia spews out of his mouth, his feral fangs peering out of his lips as she then swiftly whacks her staff down, slamming it down upon his head making him drop down to the ground below groaning, his body twitching from the sound waves while Bombarda finally makes it towards her prosthetic thrown to the side casted to the side.
Bombarda kneels down, furrowing her brow as she shakily sighs, putting her limb back into its designated slot, she moves her arms up and down, flexing her fingertips adjusting to her prosthetic now back on and ready to get back into the fray. She turns towards the fight in question only then to see the male crane his head to the side. They both hear the crisp crunch of bone as the male suddenly slams his head into Haneul making her gasp, crimson currents come crashing down her nostrils.
"Firefly!" Kane cries out concern clear upon his furrowed features as next thing the two knew while Bombarda was slowly making his way towards said scorpion. The male wraps his tail around Haneul throwing her away but not pricking her, tossing her into the stone wall or so he thought that is until Kane rushes in, attempting to catch the girl. However he is swiftly slammed into the wall behind him, clumsily catching Haneul or at least trying to as a crater cracks forming from behind them making them both grunt going limp in one another's hands. Giddily, the scorpion smirks smugly looking down at the pouch strapped to his waist, peering down, reaching out to open the bag revealing ruby red jewels glistening, gleaming. He beams brightly at the sight of the rubies only for that giddy grin to falter from the gentle tap to his shoulder. Confused, the scorpion furrows his brow by the touch turning only to be met by the swift slam of her furious fist. Flimsy, the body flops tumbling hitting the rough road below groaning, spasming, twitching his tail wiggling wobbling around the air waving it around flimsily trying to stand up, trying to steady himself.
"You…bitch!" Seething, said scorpion hisses harshly, salvia spewing out of his cracked lips, small streams of smoke slithers high into the air as small indents form upon the road, burning holes into it almost as Bombarda scowls at the sight. Calmly, she holds her prosthetic by the wrist, flexing her wrist, moving it around in circles as she slowly approaches the groaning scorpion holding his head groaning, small strands of brown branch out from the braided confines of his hair. He grimaces at the blurry vision before him, his purple flaring burning brightly narrowing at the brunette before him. Shakily, he stands, his legs quaking on the edge of buckling breaking but before he could say anything more, he is swiftly silenced by another firm fist to his face making him hiss.
"Son of a…" Angrily said scorpion hisses cradling his face only to hiss harshly as he looks up at her. Her hues widen when her ruby reds gaze into orange yellow like hues no longer purple instead seeing small specks of…she didn't have time for this. She grabs him by the braid roughly slamming his body into the ground below, hearing the crisp crunch of bone below before pulling him up for her knee to slam into his guy, scarlet saliva smears across Bombarda's cheek. She brushes off such stains as she swiftly ends the fight with a firm blast to the fact making said scorpion male hiss as he is thrown to the ground below, twitching spasming before going limp.
The police rush in, first aid rushing in tending to the bloodied beaten messes of Firefly and Soundspark. She helps hold down the scorpion being taken into the police car, a job well done for them.
"We were lucky…" Relieved, Kane sighs shakily as Bombarda helps him up, heaving. The two watching as things are being cleared up, seeing Haneul being tended to by the first aiders.
"Lucky? We could have been poisoned." Befuddled, Bombarda argues.
"Not really." Kane shrugs.
"Not really?" Bombarda arches a brow befuddled.
"That wasn't a scorpion." Kane answers.
"Huh?" Bombarda blinks baffled.
"See." Kane kneels down before standing up revealing something on top of his fingertips.
"Contacts?" Confused, Bombarda's ruby reds narrow remembering the fleeting colour of orange from the once pointed purple.
"Yep seems our little scorpion wanted to be a proper scorpion." Smirking, Kane crosses his arms over his chest pleased.
"But he has the tail!" Bombarda argues annoyed.
"So does the striped Centruroides vittatus, striped bark scorpion." Smirking, Kane reveals.
"The what?" Bombarda's crimson narrow.
"It's a scorpion with no poison in it." Kane answers.
"So he was pretended got be something he wasn't?" Lost, Bombarda quirks her head to the side.
"Yep. And you guys thought I was dumb!" Victoriously, Kane beams brightly joyfully relishing his supposed win.
"…Point taken Kane." Bombarda sighs slumping her shoulders giving him that much.
"Hey…you think Haneul will be alright?" Anxiously, Kane asks smiling strained.
"She'll be fine it's just a busted nose. She'll be back in no time." Bombarda brushes Kane's concern off.
"Right…yeah...you're right. I'm probably just over reacting." Nervously, Kane smiles strained chuckling uneasily making Bombarda's brow furrows at the sudden shaking leaf before her side. She sighs shaking her head at him. She pushes him towards the ambulance where she is being treated.
"B-Boss?" Kane blinks baffled.
"Just talk to her dumbass. I'll handle the rest." Tiredly, she dismisses Kane his hues widening when hearing her words.
"…Thanks boss. I mean it." Kane beams brightly at Bombarda rolling her eyes exasperatedly, a small shy smirk upon her lips dismissing him as she tends to the task at hand, wrapping things up.
Quietly, Katsumi lies flat on the living room sofa, staring at the flat screen before them, her flatscreen to the side, watching a movie playing out with Hawks lying on her chest. Her nose twitching at the scent of perfume all over him, different perfume from different people. She furrows her brow by Hawks nuzzling into her, wrapping his arms around her form.
What are you doing?" Katsumi questions confused, brow furrowed when seeing Hawks nuzzled into her side, nestling into her side, cuddling her as she tried to watch the TV furrowing her brow by the squirming sensation on top of her. She tried to focus on the TV but she couldn't, she just couldn't focus with the body on top of her.
"Hate it." Groaning, Hawks huffs plopping his head into her stomach, nuzzling nestling himself on her stomach, plopping himself down as if she were a pillow for the groaning grump, squirming all over.
"…You chose the movie." Mystified, Katsumi argues brow furrowed she let him choose the movie so she could choose the food speaking off Katsumi eyes the bowl before her, her tongue taunting her, telling her, pleading for her to take fair few if she could reach them that is thanks to the weight on top of her.
"Not that…the smell." Scowling, Hawks muffled moan snaps her out of her tempting thoughts to just push Hawks off so she could eat said popcorn but brushes the thought aside as she furrows her brow befuddled by his words.
"The smell?" Scowling, Katsumi's ruby reds narrow at Hawks, a part of her tensing up alarmed at the thought.
"I hate this smell." Scowling, he moves his legs up and down almost like a child.
"Smell?" Scowling, Katsumi raises her hand sniffing at her armpit, she smelt fine she did just have a shower so she should be fine, she made sure she showered daily due to the fear of glycerine smelling rank or at the least so she could lower the chances of a huge explosion happening during her causal time.
"Not you…me…" Miserably, Hawks pouts puffing his cheeks looking up at her.
"You?" Confused, Katsumi's scarlet sceptically stare down into his glistening gold.
"I don't like it." Irritated, Hawk's arms around her only tighten as he complains childishly to her.
"Then have a shower." Sternly, she tells him how it is, if he doesn't like how he smells, have a wash, have a bath, have a shower, he has options why complain? It wouldn't be the first time he had a shower over at hers.
"But movie night." Whining, he draws out plopping his chin up to look fully at her making her sigh.
"Movie night can wait dumbass." Deadpanned, Katsumi sighs reaching out to flick him in the forehead making him wince.
"Hmm…but it's effort. Unless…" Suggestively, Hawks teases smirking slightly wiggling a brow bemused by Katsumi's sharp scowl.
"Finish that sentence and I swear I'll shove your head into the TV screen." Sternly, she warns him.
"You wouldn't do that." Hawks smirks at her.
"Yeah I do like my TV." Teasingly, Katsumi cranes her neck back.
"Heeey!" Whining, Hawks huffs prodding her cheek only making him smirk.
"Alright fine…the blood and shattered glass would be everywhere not to mention hiding your body would be hard enough." Smirking, Katsumi points out.
"Meeaaan." Mischievously, Hawks whines draping hismlef over her as she simply sighs combing her fingertips through his hair that is until…
"Huh?" Katsumi furrows her brow by the stray silver hair.
"What is it?" Curious, Hawks queries.
"Did you have a stressful day?" Intrigued, Katsumi asks him.
"Nothing more than normal…why?" Frowning, Hawks quirks his head to the side.
"You got a grey hair." Honestly, Katsumi reveals said strand.
"…What?" Hawk's gold hues dilate at the sheer sight of said strand, dread flowing through him.
"Yeah see." Katsumi reveals said strand.
"No, no, no, no!" Hawks urgently grabs said strand.
"Whoa, Hawks calm down." Katsumi furrows her brow by the blonde leaping off her, staring stunned at the thin frail fibre of white.
"Grey hair!? I can't get a grey hair!" Hawks argues anxiously.
"Hawks you're a hero it's a stressful job this is just natural." Calmly, Katsumi tries to reassure the blonde.
"I had a shoot today you don't think my hair was noticed." Worried, Hawks combs his fingertips through his hair.
"Probably not why does it…?" Lost, Katsumi furrows her brow befuddled by his panic.
"I modelled today! Modelled it'll be all over." Anxiously, Hawks crumbles bowing his head worry laced in his tone.
"No it won't if anything they'll just photoshop it as they do with the rest of you." Softly, she sighs reaching out to him.
"Hey I'll have you know what they show is natural 100 percent." Proudly, Hawks winks.
"It's just a joke." Katsumi sighs shaking her head at him.
"Yeah well I don't appreciate it first you tell me I'm old…" Hawks plops himself back down on the sofa slouching.
"I never said you were old." Katsumi sighs placing her legs over his lap.
"You were implying it." Snippily, he huffs playfully glaring at her.
"I was implying you were stressed which is natural considering your line of work especially due to how demanding this month has been on you." Logically, Katsumi reminds Hawk.
"You have no idea I can't get a wink of rest I barely even got to see you for our lunch." Whining, Hawks complains.
"I thought the office was peaceful." Katsumi smirks slightly.
"Heeey you like my lunches." Hawks argues.
"Look just go have a shower you can watch this when you get out. Treat yourself." Tiredly, Katsumi pauses the show.
"…But…" Hawks brow furrows.
"I'm not joining you Hawks." Snippily, she scowls at him.
"Fiiinnne…only on one condition?" Hopeful, Hawks asks.
"What?" Katsumi furrows her brow as he leans over nestling into the crook of her neck, hugging her.
"I get to use your shampoo." Shyly, he asks hopeful before burying himself into the crook of her neck more.
"Isn't that what you've been doing already?" Confused, Katsumi furrows her brow.
"You knew?" Surprised, Hawks says.
"I saw how low my shampoo was by the way you better buy me more of it." Sternly, she tells Hawks.
"I will." Hawks smiles softly at her.
"Good now get going." Sternly, she kicks him off the sofa smirking slightly.
"Aye aye captain." Coyly, Hawks gives in smirking saluting her. He heads into the bathroom, leaving her alone as she equips her prosthetic, reaching out to her book, hoping to catch up on some lost time...
*So what do you think of Ryoma? Of Katsumi and him or Katsumi and Eri? Would love to know your thoughts!*
