Surprises and Coincidences

Sam Carter navigated the corridors of the SGC with her nose in a book. Naturally she would rather be caught dead before she would be caught not watching where she was going (you never knew when an injured Siler would go whizzing by on a gurney). However, this was a really, really, REALLY good book.

Daniel Jackson navigated the corridors of the SGC with his nose in a book. Naturally he would rather be caught giving up coffee than not watching where he was going (you never knew when an ascended ancient was going to whiz by). However, this was a really, really, REALLY good book.

Teal'c navigated the corridors of the SGC with his nose in a book. Naturally he would rather be caught missing a Star Trek convention than be caught not watching where he was going (you never knew when O'Neill was going to whiz by riding a bike). However, this was a really, really, REALLY good book.

Watch out for the crossing corridors. Sam subconsciously reminded herself.

Be careful of the corridors crossing. Daniel subconsciously reminded himself.

Beware of running into humans when crossing from one corridor to another. Teal'c subconsciously reminded himself.

"Hey!"

Thud.

"Ouch!"

Thud. Thud.

"Indeed."

Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c all took a moment to absorb their situation. They were all standing in the center of the corridor crossing, all having come from a different direction on their way to the elevator, all with a throbbing bump/bruise somewhere on their body, and all slightly embarrassed that they were caught not watching where they were going.

Sam was the first to speak. "Sorry guys. I, ah…well I was walking and…I had…I was reading and…" Here Sam paused, and then whispered the rest. "I wasn't watching where I was going."

"Either was I." Daniel whispered back. Then he and Sam both looked to Teal'c.

"Indeed. I was not aware of my surroundings." Teal'c stated.

"You know, the one time I'm not watching my step I run into someone." Sam stated.

"All of us actually." Daniel replied. "Must be fate. But hey, at least we all ran into each other and not the Marines from SG-3."

"Your right. That would have been really awkward." Sam said. With this statement Sam crouched down to pick up her book. However, instead of picking up the book she began to giggle. Upon hearing her giggles Daniel and Teal'c looked down to find out what exactly Sam was laughing about and found the answer at their feet. There, one the floor in front of them lay three copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince.

As Sam stood with the three books she found Daniel chuckling softly. Even Teal'c had a smile on his face. "Good book series huh?" Sam asked the other two.

"Yes, very addicting."

"Indeed."

"Come on. We'll be late for the briefing." Sam said leading them to the elevator.

Five minutes later (having hidden their books in an unused storage closet) Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c entered the briefing room only to find that General O'Neill was not there yet. They sat discussing Harry Potter until the General arrived. When he did arrive the other three were baffled by what he had. In his hands he held a copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince, which he was currently reading. Sam, Daniel and Teal'c just sat and stared at him. Finally O'Neill realized that SG-1 was staring at him.

"What?" O'Neill asked looking around at them. "I couldn't stop in the middle of a chapter!"
