I extended this chpt a bit rather than cut it short like the others. Hope no one minds. Anyway, I know most of you have already read this and previously reviewed as well, but I thank you for still R&R.
The sky's the limit in this new journey that the Gullwings have decided to take on. What's to happen along the way? Who shall they meet? Will they meet friend or foe? What shall happen as they progress in this new journey?
The Celsius swooped downward through the air before is tilted to the side and then flew upward. Rikku's yelling at Brother to stop flying like the maniac he is.
Rikku took her shoe off and hurled it at Brother, hitting him right in the back of the head. Brother yelled out, rubbing the back of his head.
"Rikku!" Brother shouted.
"That's my name." Rikku said proudly. "Don't wear it out." She then turned her attention back to Yuna and Paine as they discuss their options.
"So, where do we start?" Paine asked. "I mean, we set off on this crazy adventure without any knowledge of where to go or were to even begin." She crossed her arms over her chest as Yuna rubbed the bottom of her chin.
After a moment or two of think, Yuna's eyes widened in anticipation, however, before she could speak, the alarm began to flash.
"Whoa!" Buddy yelled. "Incoming data from Guadosolom" YRP ran over to check things out as he pulled up the data on his computer. "Seems Tromell wishes to speak with Yuna. There's some disturbance coming from the Farplane."
"I say we hear him out." Yuna said.
"This could prove interesting." Paine said. The Celsius took off with full speed, heading for Guadosolom.
Moments later. . .
"When we arrived in Guadosolom. We knew little of the trouble that was about occur, and none of us knew that this was to lead to even more chaos that's ever been bestowed upon Spira before."
"The souls of those whom have passed on have grown weary, my lady." Tromell said. "They have been crossing over between worlds. Many have already stepped beyond the borders of life and death."
"You mean, they've left the Farplane and came back to Spira?" Rikku asked as she scratched the side of her head.
Tromell nodded his head. "You are correct."
"But why- -" Rikku began before being cut off by a scream from a female Guado and everyone turned their attention towards her.
"Lord Tromell!" the female Guado began. "It's- - it's- -" Before she could finish, she passed out from the utter shock she had sustained.
"Lady Yuna. . . " called a weary, shaky voice.
Upon hearing this voice, all eyes are turned in the direction the voice had came from. Loud gasps and a few screams escaped the mouths of many as Lord Jyscal slowly made his way towards Yuna.
"You must stop!" Jyscal demanded. "What you seek cannot be found. She will not allow such a thing." Yuna narrowed her eyes at Jyscal. "The one in which you seek to find is gone. He is no more!"
Yuna instantly gasped at what she had just heard, however, Paine noted something strange about the situation as she stepped forth and examined the ghostly figure.
"That's not Jyscal!" Paine yelled. "Look at its eyes! They're hollow, there's nothing there!"
The voice of what appeared to Jyscal's suddenly turned raspy and deep. "You cannot win! You will never obtain what it is that you seek!" As the ghostly figure continued to walk towards, Yuna and her friends, it began to quiver and then shake quite violently. Groaning loudly, it came to a full stop as it began to take on a different form.
Eyes glowing a dark garnet, wings of what appeared to be the shape of a bat sprouted from its back. Its ghostly form faded from around its outer body, revealing decayed bones underneath. Vapors elevated from around it, swaying its wings before it flew upwards and began to hover Yuna and her friends.
"It comes!" Paine shouted as she watched the eerie being dart straight at them as it screeched out like a crying harpy.
Meanwhile, beyond the heart of the Farplane where the dimension of souls dwell, she is pleased why what her advisor had sent to try and stop Yuna.
The specter tossed her ebony hair over her shoulder as she cackled.
"Such a splendid surprise, eh, Lady Yuna?" the specter asked as a small chuckle followed. "Death awaits you, Yuna, as it did the one you seek." And as she flung her crimson cloak to the side, she slowly turned and walked away, disappearing into the mist of times.
Just who was this ghostly being and where did it come from? Even though it looked like Lord Jyscal, we it really him and if so, why was he attacking YRP and the Guado? Why did he look like a decomposed fiend?
Jyscal swooped down above YRP and the others. With a slash her sword, Paine struck the being down, however, with a shake of its head, it took flight once again.
"This is not going to be easy." Rikku whined a bit.
"Is it ever?" Paine asked flatly.
Rikku watched the creature fly about before grinning. "I got it!" she chirped as she changed into her warrior dress sphere and darted up on the ledge near the opening to the Farplane.
"What is she doing?" Yuna asked.
"She's your cousin, Yuna." Paine said teasingly. "With her, it's hard to say."
Rikku watched as the creature kept darting back and forth as if to be taunting Paine and Yuna. "Here you harpy, harpy, harpy thing you!" The creature kept darting back and forth a bit. "Ah! Come here you bag of flying bones!"
Yuna unleashed Trigger Happy upon it. Upon taking damage, the creature hovered above them momentarily giving Rikku ample time to jump from the ledge above and down onto it back.
"Yahoo!" Rikku proclaimed as the creature tried to shake her from his back.
"Rikku!" Yuna shouted with concern in her voice.
"That girl's gone nuts!" Paine said.
"Whoa! Ahhh! Wh-whoa!" Rikku shouted, clinging to the back of the flying fiend where after a few moments of fighting with it, she got herself a death grip. "Time to clip your wings!" Tightening her legs around it, Rikku raised her sword high above, striking the fiend in the back as she began to dislocate its right wing. The creature reeked in pain as it faltered to the ground.
"Rikku!" Paine and Yuna called out in unison as they ran to the aid of their friend. Making it to her feet, she met them full circle as they turned to the one winged creature.
After the remaining attached wing fluttered a time or two, a bright light began to glow from it, turning back into the ghostly being it were before hand. All are in shock at the sight before them as Seymour slowly rose form the ground and turned to Yuna only to smirk at her.
"A pleasure as always, Lady Yuna." Seymour smirked as he began to approach her. Yuna immediately aimed her guns at him and he stopped dead in his tracks as a small chuckle escaped his lips. "Different on the outside, but the same on the inside. You're still the strong willed girl you were two years ago." Yuna narrowed her eyes at him angrily. "Shoot me if you want, High Summoner. It will only go straight through me, for I am not of this world anymore." Yuna studied his eyes and noted trickery within them.
Suddenly, without another word spoken, Seymour quickly faded as a shiny orb then formed, pyerflies encircling it. Yuna lowered her guns, puzzled by what she saw before her where the orb then speared straight at her, taking over her entire being as a hue of light traced her outter being.
"NO!" Yuna screamed out as she then grasped by Seymour who began to levitate her into the air, high above all.
"You will give up this foolish search or you shall meet certain doom." Seymour's voice warned from within the shining orb that cascaded around Yuna's outer being, however, Yuna's will proved stronger as she is then dropped to the ground and released from Seymour's ghostly grasp where she is rendered unconscious. "I may have failed at stopping you, but she will not give up!" The orb hovered above all before it then darted back to the Farplane from where it came as Rikku and Paine ran to Yuna.
Moments later. . .
Yuna was taken aboard the Celsius as Rikku and Paine stayed behind to question Tromell about the recent events and about the Farplane itself.
"Why the sudden trace of ghostly ties?" Tromell questioned. "I cannot say." He studied Paine's and Rikku's features and sensed that something was troubling them. "Is there something you wish to ask of me or, perhaps, tell me?"
"Well. . ." Rikku began.
"Yuna's searching for Tidus." Paine said and Tromell's eyes widen.
"I see." Tromell said. "So, that explains it."
"Explains what?" Rikku asked.
"Yuna seeks to find the one man that saved her from certain doom." Tromell began. "Am I correct?" Rikku and Paine nodded their heads. "What she seeks to do may be impossible."
"Nothing is impossible when it comes to true love." Rikku spatted at Tromell. "Where there's a will, there's a way!"
"But to find him means entering the Realm Of Souls." Tromell said. "And in order to do this, Lady Yuna must obtain a special kind of dress sphere. Only she can obtain this, but its whereabouts. . . I'm afraid I cannot say, for only she will know of its location when the timing is right. Finding it is one thing, however, obtaining it is another." Paine and Rikku just looked at each other.
Meanwhile, beyond the heart of the Farplane where the dimension of souls dwell, someone is not too pleased at the failed attempt that had just occurred.
The specter tossed her crimson cloak aside as she turned to face Seymour, narrowing her visible right eye at him.
"You failed me miserably, Seymour!" the specter said. "You failed to stop her like you failed to stop her so many times before when she were on her pilgrimage to battle Sin." Seymour opened his mouth to speak, however, she held her hand up to silence him. "Silence! I'll hear none of your excuses."
Extending out her hand and with a snap of her fingers, a dark, ebony hue cascaded downward around Seymour who began to quiver and then shake violently. He groaned loudly, yelling in pain as his soul dispersed into pyerflies only to fade from that into the mist surrounding all that is there.
With a small sigh, she tossed her ebony locks from the right side of her face. "You lose, Seymour." She then cackled loudly as her flat joke. "And soon, Lady Yuna shall fail just as you did, for I will disperse her very being in the very same manner." Pulling her cloak around herself, she turned and vanished into the thickness of the mist.
