Look who's back. So, how's everyone been? Hope all is well with everyone . I decided to make this story quite different from the recent one. Hope everyone likes it. I would have written a little more, but it's going on 3 am and I am getting very sleepy. LOL. Well, on with the story.
Tidus stood in front of Yuna as well as behind her. What in the name of Spira was going on? There were two of Tidus, but only one is the real Tidus, but which one? Will Yuna be able to tell them apart? Will Yuna play into this trickery?
Yuna looked before her and then behind her. The look of confusion in her eyes, pain in her heart, however, was nearing her breaking point at these little mind games being played.
"Yuna, it's me." the Tidus before her said.
"Yuna, don't listen to him!" the Tidus behind her called out.
"SHUT UP!" Yuna cried out as she placed her hands over her ears and fell to her knees, however, she quickly maintained her sanity as she rose to her feet, narrowing her eyes at both Tidus' in anger. "One of you will tell me who's who." Yuna then changed into her Gunner dressphere, turned towards the Tidus at the back of her and took aim. "TALK!"
"Yuna, it's me." he tried to convince her as he started to approach her.
"Stay where you are!" Yuna demanded as she narrowed her eyes at him and kept a dead aim at him.
"Yuna. . ." he trailed off in disbelief. "What do I have to do to prove to you that I'm the real me!"
Yuna thought for a moment. "Tell me something that the real Tidus would know about me! Something that only he could possibly know."
Tidus didn't even have to think of a thing as the words came pouring out. "I know that you love me." Yuna's eyes widen a bit as she began to let her guard down. "That's why you're still searching for me. Why would I want you to give up on that search when I want to be with you as much as you want to be with me?" Yuna lowered her guns.
"Why am I here then?" Yuna asked. "Am I dead!" Tidus shook his head. "Then- -"
"Yuna, watch out!" Tidus yelled out as he ran towards Yuna at a deathly speed. Yuna slowly turned to see a steel blade coming at her.
Yuna squealed out as she darted straight to the ground only to roll away from what was about to take place. Tidus jumped over Yuna and ran straight at the other Tidus, however, before Tidus could grab the imposter, he was knocked to the ground.
Off in the distance, pyerflies spiral inward and around each other as mystical rays of color danced all about. Within these beams of color grew a pearl orb, which grew and soon became too bright for the eye to look at. There, within this hue of white light, appeared Excalibur.
The imposterwatched Tidus for a moment and when he didn't get up, he turned his attention towards Yuna. As their eyes came in contact with each other, Yuna noted small black orbs midst his blue eyes. She quickly changed into her White Mage dressphere and raised her staff to the heavens above. Orbs of purity surrounded him before they spiraled around each other and flying high above. Everything turned white when it suddenly transpired into what appeared to be a mystical haven. Beams of light descended from above and struck the evil Tidus. As the beams touched him, he yelled out in pain as vapors rose from his flesh.
Tidus slowly opened his eyes only to see Excalibur resting in the ground only a few feet away.
"You'll pay." the voice within theimposter said with a bit of a raspy glitch within its tone. Yuna was almost frozen with fear as she heard the sound of the voice, which almost seemed demonic. "Prepare to die on this night. . . along with your friends!"
The imposterdrew his sword high above his head as he prepared to strike Yuna down. The steel of his blade was brought forth as Yuna watched it. Suddenly the steel blade collided against another blade of steel as small sparks flickered from their contact.
"Not today, you evil bastard." Tidus said as he stepped forth as he shielded Yuna from certain death.
Meanwhile, in Besaid, mysterious storm clouds have started the approach the small town as the group of friends were prepared to depart from Lulu's and Wakka's hut.
Lulu sat at Yuna's bedside as she watched her and noticed that her body had became rather fidgety and quite restless. Sweat ran from her forehead and down the side of her face. Lulu took a cool, damp wash cloth and wiped the sweat away.
"Wakka!" Lulu called out. "Come in here quick!" Wakka rushed in there and over to his wife. "Yuna's burning up, but she's not running a fever. What's happening?"
"Heck if I know, ya?" Wakka said. "I can't explain this strange storm approaching us."
Lulu narrowed her eyes at Wakka. "Strange storm!"
"Kinda just came out of no where, ya?" Wakka said
Rikku came rushing back inside the hut as she tried to close the door, however, the wind and picked up at a rather sudden rapid pace and it was nearly about to blow down the hut itself. As she struggled to close it, Brother just watched her and became quite annoyed.
"Rikku!" Brother yelled. "Close that door!"
"I'm trying!" Rikku shouted back at him.
"Here!" Brother said as he got up off the couch. "I show you! Let a real man close the door."
"I would if one were in here!" Rikku taunted.
"I am real man!" Brother babbled. "STEP ASIDE!"
"Alright." Rikku said as she then stepped away from the door, which instantly flew back and smack Brother right square in the face and knocked him back onto the floor. "MY NOSE!"
"Is that how a real man does it!" Rikku asked with sarcasm in her voice. Brother's face turned crimson as he narrowed his eyes at her.
The storm clouds approached at a rapid speed as the lightening danced across the sky and the thunder rolled. There, within those storm clouds, was the dark one, which called out into the night. It then dispersed into a misty form and vanished into the storm clouds. Rain quickly began to fall and within seconds, the ground was nearly a puddle.
Meanwhile, back on the Farplane, Tidus was about to take onthe imposterin order to save his love. Who will prevail? Will true love win over all this time around?
Tidus stood in front of Yuna as he kept his eyes glued right on the imposter that stood before him.
"Come near her and I will strike you down!" Tidus warned the imposter.
The imposter's evil eyes widen at the mere sight of Excalibur. "The sword of holy. " it muttered as it backed away a few steps. "You dare to defy me?
"I dare!" Tidus said bravely as he stepped forth.
"Then so be it!" the imposter shouted as he ran at Tidus.
The battle was on. . .
Blades of steel collided as Tidus and the imposter tried to force each other to the ground, however, both wereequally match in strength, Tidus took his foot and swiped the imposter's feet right out from under him and he fell backwards on the ground. Tidus quickly tried to stab the creature though it quickly rolled out of the way just as the blade pierced the ground. Tidus quickly pulled it loose as the imposter made it to his feet and wielded his sword at Tidus as the blades yet again collided with each other. However, as the imposter struck at Tidus' head, he quickly ducked only to twirl around and slash the imposter's midsection.
The imposter quickly dropped his sword as he shouted out in pain as a golden beam of light shown through the open wound. As the light grew, the Farplane began to quiver and them shake violently as the figure faded into dark shades of magenta, lime, and mocha where it soon vanished into thin air, however, in its place a figure of ebony slowly rose to its feet.
The being stepped forth as it took shape. Locks of ebony fell through as a crimson hooded cloak slowly formed over it, however, its face was not visible, for it was hidden under the hood. "It appears that the raven wasn't needed for me to stop you, however, it shall see that vengeance is done for your foolish attempt, for it shall destroy what you call your home and your friends within it."
"NO!" Yuna cried out as she stepped forth and prepared to cast another holy spell, however, before she could cast her spell, her very existence began to fade and disperse into pyerflies. "What's going on?" Yuna felt her very soul being torn asunder. "TIDUS!" She cried out as pyerflies swarmed within her and she soon faded completely. There, floating in her place, was an orb of pearl. The specter cackled loudly.
"NO!" Tidus shouted angrily.
"Come forth, soul of the after life!" the specter demanded. "Come forth now! I demand thee!"The orb slowly floated over to the specter as her feet left the ground and she hovered high above Tidus. "Behold her soul!" Tidus shook his head in disbelief. "I have her very essence of life! Without this, she will surely perish from the world of the living!" The specter cackled sinisterly. "This soul will certainly be one in a million. Sin could not defeat her, Vegnagun couldn't even stop her, but I, the mistress of death, have stopped her!" She cackled loudly once again. "Watch as I consume her very fibers of life!"
The specter slowly brought her hands forth as she began to raise them slowly. She began to chant as Yuna's very soul began to yet again disperse and be consumed by this monster of a being, however, as that certain soul was nearly consumed, the specter suddenly screamed out in pain. Steam seeped from within the cape as she continued to scream. It was as if she were on fire. After only holding onto Yuna's soul for merely a few moments, the specter quickly released it as it gathered and formed back into the shiny pearl it once was. Tidus was quite bewildered at the display at hand. The very Reaver of Souls could not consume or even grasp the very thing she collected and seeked, for when she tried to take in Yuna's soul, she almost ignited into flames, but why? What's so special about Yuna's soul that even the very Reaver of Souls couldn't condemn her to the after life?
Tidus watched as the specter shuddered a bit before falling to the ground where she soon pushed herself up from the ground. She tossed her ebony locks back over her shoulder as Tidus feasted his eyes upon her features, however, the left side her face remained hidden, which he found quite mysterious. The specter narrowed her eyes at Tidus. "I may not have stopped her tonight, but The Dark Raven shall, for it has already struck. And if all else fails, she shall face The Gatekeeper of Apparition's Sanctorum. I may not be able to touch her soul as of yet, but once it is tainted, it shall be mine!"
Without another word spoken, the specter stood up, brought her arms forth around herself as she hide herself within her cloak and slowly shimmered away into the mist surrounding all.
