Hey, everyone. Here's an update from me at last. I am finding it harder by the day to update a story if any at all. My life is just a living nightmare right now, but I promise you, my viewers, that I will continue my writing on here. I will not leave a story unfinished. You have my word.
I want to thank each and everyone of my viewers for reading and reviewing this story, which would not be possible if it weren't for your support and kind words.
Upon ascending Mt. Gagazet, Rikku, Paine and Yuna came upon a flat plain. The wind was howling and blowing with great force. A thick, eerie mist hugged the ground and rose above making it nearly impossible to see anything.
Paine looked around and took in her surroundings. Rikku, on the other hand, was fighting with her hair, for it kept blowing in her face and all around though she quickly gained control of the situation as she looked around. Yuna stood in the back ground as she watched Rikku and Paine and as they walked off in different directions, a sinister smile played upon her features and she slowly faded into a shimmering formation and became one with the mist surrounding her.
"What is this place?" Paine shouted above the howling wind, however, no one answered her. "Rikku? Yuna?" She turned around and looked about though did not see anything or anything.
Then suddenly, in the corner of her eye, she saw a shadowy formation of Rikku standing off in the distance. Paine eyed Rikku curiously who walked forth and out of the shadows.
Rikku kept walking until she saw Paine standing off in the distance. She called out to Paine who slowly turned and looked at her, however, the greeting was anything but friendly, for Paine withdrew her sword and ran at Rikku, readying to strike at any given moment. Not knowing what was going on, Rikku withdrew her weapons and prepared to defend herself.
What exactly is going on here? Why did Paine draw her sword on Rikku? Why are these two best friends preparing to battle each other and why and how did Yuna disappear? Neither of the girls knew what was going on nor why. All they knew was that they had to be careful. Very careful.
Rikku walked towards Paine who walked towards her. Both girls had their weapons drawn and were ready to fight each other. With each step that was taken, that was one step closer to certain chaos and an undetermined destination.
Seconds later. . .
Metal clanged against metal as Rikku blocked Paine's attack and she was forced backwards. Paine staggered backwards, angered that Rikku had warded off her attack.
Paine eyed Rikku curiously who then slashed at her. Paine dodged the first blow successfully, however, as Rikku spun around and done an under slash, she created a deep wound to Paine's side who shouted out and grabbed her very side. She then gazed down as she removed her hand only to find it blood stained.
Both girls glared at each other, furious at the other's attempt. Therefore, out of anger, their weapons collided against each other yet again. Paine forced Rikku backwards who forced Paine backwards when suddenly they felt their backs hit against something or someone. Paine looked over her shoulder only to see Rikku behind her. Her eyes flew open wide as she looked forward and see Rikku in front of her as well. Rikku's eyes flew open wide once she glanced over her shoulder and seen Paine only to see her in front of her.
"What the- -" Paine trailed off as she tried to defend herself from what she now knew to be Evil Rikku.
"There seems to be evil duplicates of ourselves!" Rikku nearly squealed.
"With twice our strength." Paine pointed out.
"No doubt!" Rikku agreed.
"I have an idea." Paine said as she tried to hold off Evil Rikku.
"Say it already!" Rikku shouted as she tried to defend herself from Evil Paine's steel blade.
"On the count of three, we run to opposite sides and let these two have at it." Paine said.
"You call that a plan!" Rikku asked sarcastically.
"At the moment, yes." Paine said "On three!"
1. . . 2. . . 3. . .
And at that split second, the girls fought off their evil twins, ran in opposite directions from each other, which in turn caused the evil twins to collide into each other face first and disappear into each other. Suddenly, a luminous light cascaded downward, which formed into an emblem of rubicund sunbeams. A crest of gold formed within as it began to spin at a high rate of speed when suddenly a figment of YRP twinkled where the crest was spinning.
"On, no!" Rikku shouted. "Where's Yunie!"
"I think she was the one who fell, Rikku." Paine said with concern in her voice.
"Then if Yunie fell, then who led us up here?" Rikku asked
"That would be me." came a voice from within the spinning crest.
Meanwhile. . . below the mountain. . .
Two twinkling, teardrop shaped moonstones spiraled downward from the sky above, darting towards the landscape below. Yuna's life began to flash before her eyes as she watched the ground get closer and closer by the second. The twinkling moonstones picked up speed, coiling around each other only to join together in unison and grow into a spherical force field, which swooped around and captured Yuna in midair. She gasped as she soon came to realize that she was still alive and even flying through the air. Who or what caught Yuna and saved her from certain death? Yuna slowly gained her balance and made it her feet as she was guided to the top of Mt. Gagazet.
Meanwhile. . . atop the mountain. . .
The spinning crest within the luminary rays continued to spin until it at last disappeared only to explode into radiating streaks of amethyst, vermilion, cyan, and lovat, which dazzled in brilliance and pigment. And from within these radiant streaks of color emerged a very mysterious being. With shorttrestles of bronze, ruby lips and nails, and eyes of ash. A wine colored, strapless cheongsam dress with thigh high slits at each side, knee high ebony boots, and trinkets complete her looks. Tossing her hair aside, she stepped forth, placing her hands upon her hips as she gazed upon Rikku and Paine with a smugly look on her face.
"Who. . .are. . . you?" Paine asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Say, shouldn't someone call the fashion police?" Rikku teased about the mysterious woman's appearance.
"Silence!" the strange woman demanded. "I will not be mocked!"
"Then might I recommend a make over?" Rikku asked sarcastically
"Laugh at me if you will." the woman said. "It matters not, for as of this very moment, your precious Yuna is being sent to my mistress."
"NO!" Rikku shouted as she withdrew her weapons and darted at the strange beings who just politely waved her hand and knocked Rikku backwards. Paine ran to her side and helped her up to her feet as they both narrowed their eyes at the woman.
"Who are you and what have to done to Yuna?" Paine demanded.
"I am Calandra. I am the soul of the one who sleeps in the depths of Spira's crust. I am the doppelganger, Raven's twin sister." Calandra spoke. "And the one you call Yuna has fallen to her death."
Rikku noticed something behind Calandra and smirked. "Are you sure, Cal?"
"Errr!" Calandra growled. "Don't call me that!" She then brought her hands downward and around and then up when suddenly, the ground began to quake. Paine and Rikku nearly lost their balance. Calandra cackled loudly, for she thought she had the upper hand. That is, until shots are fired at her feet and she began to dance around to avoid any contact. She then turned around and her eyes widened in fury and shock.
There, floating above all, was Yuna who was surrounded by a swirling spiral of pyerflies and, without a second to spare, a glistening ray of shimmering golden stars danced around her as she knelt down, lowered her head as if to pray and extended her arms forth. A spherical force field twinkled underfoot as it soon went from a glowing hue into its true formation. Yuna looked forth as she raised her head, glaring at the being before her and as a sinister smile played upon her features, she thrust her arms outward and two spherical force fields shot out from the one under her. Yuna then stood, withdrew her guns and prepared for battle.
The two spherical force fields encircled the mountain side, coming around at both sides. As one approached Paine, she jumped up, her feet landing on it as she soon set flight. She then withdrew her sword and was ready for action.
Rikku, on the other hand, watched the spherical force field before she then done a spinning heel kick, into an aerial and then a back flip where she soon landed upon the force field, which set flight as she withdrew her weapons and was read to swing into combat.
Angered that Yuna had somehow managed to survive the fall, Calandra snapped her fingers only to vanish and then reappear midst the air where YRP tried to gain control of the force field below them.
"You may have survived the fall, summoner!" Calandra shouted as she narrowed her eyes at her. "You may have found a way to stay afloat and off the quaking ground below, but you will not escape death!"
"Your mistress of death has already tried to take over my soul, but she failed!" Yuna shouted at Calandra. "She failed once and she will fail again because I will now allow her to destroy Spira or keep me from the man I love!"
Calandra laughed at her determination. "Parts of Spira have been demolished and yet you continue this foolish search! Why not give it up? Your search will be done in vain because you will never find him, you will never be with him!"
Yuna narrowed her eyes at Calandra in pure hatred and anger. "You will regret those words! I will send you back to your mistress as a symbol of my love for Tidus and to show her that I am not afraid and will not give up! There is nothing that she or anyone else can say or do to stop me!"
"Suit yourself, summoner!" Calandra said "Now! Feast your eyes upon the power of The Doppelganger of the Raven!" And with that said, Calandra disappeared into thin air.
"I shall breath life into the one whom sleeps beneath Spira's crust. And with the awake of this being, man kind shall cease to exist, for all of Spira will be in for a ground break." Calandra's voice echoed throughout the distance.
YRP came together as Mt. Gagazet began to tremble. Huge boulders began to crumble as the plain below broke away freely. They watched in bewilderment as a towering formation of human skulls with asps intertwining within and out began to break through.
Atop this towering peak of skulls and asps, laid a woman of stone in fetal position when pyerflies began to swarm in and around her where they soon coveted her stoney formation. The pyerflies outlined and encircled every aspect of her body. And soon, her body of stone began to soften into human flesh. Her caramel hair loosened and fell freely about her as asps began to slither throughout her body. She turned over onto her back, stretching out her achy, stiff limbs. Slowly she rose to her feet, her hair falling before her to cover her bare, fully exposed chest. A pair of ebony thongs covered her womanhood. What appeared to be streaks of crimson throughout her hair slithered forth, their forked tongues protruding through their fangs. She caressed her pets within her hands as she looked forth at YRP.
Evil glares are exchanged through narrowed eyes between the girls momentarily. Yuna then took aim as Rikku and Paine darted off in opposite directions, coming in at Calandra brought her hands to her side and raised then slightly as she closed her eyes and tilted her head back. In doing so, the boulders and small rocks that had fallen and some that were still falling from the crumbling mountain elevated into the air and stopped once they surrounded Calandra, she opened her eyes, caught sight of where YRP were and sent the boulders flying straight at them.
