Chapter 1

Tobitsu Island, Goto Archipelago, Grand Line

A 17-year-old dark-haired girl sits on a sandy beach in the rain staring out into the open ocean, seemingly lost in thought as the gloomy day rains on, a letter sits not too far from her but is not affected by the rain as it drips off the letter.

"How the hell did I end up here," I ask no one in particular as I finally sit up from the sand I found myself laying in minutes before, 'I live in Arizona, and it's the middle of July, why am I looking at the rain and a beach.' I internally monologue to myself as I try to find bearings, the first thing that catches my eye is a paper letter with a red wax seal, the water is just beading off the letter and the seal. 'I need to at least find some cover from the rain before opening this, this letter could explain where I'm at.' I stuff the letter into my sweatpants pockets and look out into the ocean for more time before walking inland to find cover.

You know, the more I explore this island the more beautiful the natural greenery is, is what I would say if I wasn't being chased by a giant plant monster that looked like something ripped right out of an MMO RPG as a low-level grind monster. I run through a collection of vines, each vine I rip past I can hear the oversized venus flytrap stomping on the forest floor gaining on me.

'If I don't find some way to escape this guy I'm gonna end up as his next meal!' I try to gain more distance by zig-zagging through a group of bushes but he just crushed everything in his path directly towards me. 'Okay, calm down, start to name off things you can do to not end up as a dessert to a World of Warcraft monster, first of all, I can try to fight it.' I turn around for a second and see it gaining on me, towering 10 feet over me.

'Scratch that.' I turn back around and see a giant tree, at least the size of the Eiffel Tower, I turn right and see some small bamboo stalks, 'This might be my one chance!'

I grab a bamboo stalk and snap it at the base, creating a mini pole vault, 'Don't let your 3 years of pole vaulting in high school go to waste!' I center myself with the tree and start running towards the monstrous flytrap standing at a minimum of 15' feet, 'here goes nothing!' I run toward him at full speed, with the bamboo stalk in my hand, right before he can stomp on me I vault right over him!

The excitement doesn't last long as I look down and see one of its many heads stare at me with its beady yellow eyes filled with amusement. Within a second without even the body slowing down this head flies up toward me with a fine connecting it to the main body while I'm still midair falling. The last thing I see is its blood-stained teeth clamping down on me before it all goes black.

I gasp for air waking up at the beach I was at before, holding my chest feeling my heart beat ridiculously fast. I look left and right but no flytrap monster, all that I see is that letter with the red seal beading off all the rain that's falling onto it.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME!" I scream out in anger and all I'm met with with the pitter-patter of the rain hitting the sandy beach, I sigh, 'I might as well use what came with me.' I go to pick up the letter and immediately rip off the seal, revealing the note written on plain white paper you'd use for a printer.

Hello Miss Alani Reed, you have no clue who I am and I plan to keep it that way. All that you need to know about me is that I'm the one who brought you here. You are currently in the world of One Piece, no need to worry though, the universe's time that you came from is currently paused, so if you ever get out of here you'll be placed right back where you were taken from. I did however adjust your body so you match the strength of an average character in this universe, and gave you a special ability you may or may not have figured out by the time you open this letter, the power of reversing time! Not willingly though, every time you 'die' you are brought back in time from the span of 12 hours to 10 minutes before your demise, just to make things interesting. That's all the information you are getting from me for now. Good luck pawn. -Yval

I stare at the letter for a good minute, just trying to take in all the information that was thrown at me all at once. 'So, you're telling me I'm in the world of One Piece and I'm basically invincible with weird time warping abilities? I guess I have to work with what I got.' I put the note back into the letter and pushed it back into my sweatpants pockets as I did before.

'I have nothing but a long-sleeve dark green shirt, black sweatpants, a pair of black shoes, and a note that could get me put into a mental asylum for being a schizophrenic, how fun so-called Yval.' I walk down the beach, avoiding the rainforest inland for the life of me, I've seen enough weird flytrap monsters for today.

The longer I walk down the beach the rockier and less sandy it gets until the once beautiful beach has turned into a cliff that would be infamous for tourist deaths due to how rocky it is, at the bottom of the waterfall there seems to be a collection system, separating the two waters and the water goes back into the island from a man-made tunnel. I keep walking, watching my step so I don't fall to my death, resetting me all the way back to the sand. I keep walking until I find a waterfall, disconnecting my path along the coastline.

'There's no way I can cross that river without being pulled down the water.' I mutter to myself. 'At this point, I have no choice but to go into the forest.' I turn left and look at the river coming out of the forest. There is a small waterwheel and what seems to be a wooden town centered around the waterwheel in a clearing up the river. I've never been so happy to see a town.

By the time I'm close to the town I realize that I have no money or any way to make any money. 'And I highly doubt a letter supposedly written by an omnipotent god will sell well in a market.' I make it to the entrance and read the wooden carved sign, Donguri Village, Welcome to the town of Acorns! 'Donguri Village eh, well I hope they take kindly to otherworlders.'

As soon as I walk into the village I am assaulted by a smell that smells like a combination of maple syrup and woodcutting, It's a nice and cozy smell, many small shops with banners line the roads, and people leading mules pulling a carriage full of wood.

I walk up to an older woman tapping her on the shoulder, making her turn towards me. "Excuse me, ma'am, do you know where I could find the closest inn?" I ask her and she proceeds to point down the road.

"Ah, new to the Goto Archipelago eh? Well if you take the next right the Ochiba Inn will be on the corner across the street from the town marine station, it is quite small but there should be some marines in there. But watch out for a guy named Pierce Typell, he's an evil criminal on this island worth 5,100,000 Belli! He has been really active recently!" She answers, almost tripping over her words with how fast she's talking. I say my thanks and goodbyes to the sweet old woman and start walking toward the marines station.

'Being a small-time bounty hunter should keep my income up until I figure out where I am in the One Piece universe.' I think to myself as I approach the front door of the station.

I walk into the building and the wooden door creeks as I open it, revealing two marines sitting at a desk with bounty posters nailed to the wall behind them. One marine has his feet up on the desk while smoking out of a pipe, while the other one has goggles around his neck doing paperwork, Goggles looks up to greet me.

"Hello, how can I help you today ma'am?" Goggles boy asks, full attention on me while Smokey is zoned out looking at the ceiling. I walk closer to the desk and point at the bounty poster.

"Hey, I just wanted to have a copy of the 5 highest bounties that are currently active on the island," I ask him while looking at the posters behind him, the one that's worth the most Belli by a lot is the person the old lady was talking about.

Pierce 'Heinous Assassin' Typell

5,100,000 Belli

"Sure ma'am, just give me a second to get the posters from the back." He gets up from the shared desk and walks into the back room, presumably to grab the posters for me.

"What does a girl like you want these bounties?" Smokey asks me while taking a big puff from his pipe, staring me down with eyes that could pierce my soul.

"Just trying to see who to avoid for the future, better to be safe than sorry, you know?" I answer his question only half truthfully, 'If only you knew Mister Smokey.' He continues to stare me down for a second before giving up, right as Goggles come back into the room.

"Here you go, the latest bounties were given out by the Capital island of this fine archipelago!" He hands the rolled-up bounties to me and I take them, giving me a smile as I walk away from the desk."

Thanks! I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon!" I yell as I exit the building, waving to Goggles. Once I left the building I found the nearest bench to sit on to read the bounties.

Pierce 'Heinous Assassin' Typell

5,100,000 Belli

Lloyd 'Windchaser' Reft

1,406,000 Belli

Samuel 'Snake Charmer' Ishtet

794,000 Belli

Ikeda 'Red Hot' Yoshita

310,000 Belli

Ricky 'Honorless Bandit' Martin

94,800 Belli

Well, it looks like I'll be going for Honorless Bandit first, not a very cool epithet but he had to have to done something to earn that nickname, If I manage to turn in his bounty I should be smooth sailing on cash for the foreseeable future. I see a marine on patrol duty walking down the road, I run up to him holding Ricky Martin's bounty poster and waving it in front of him.

"Hey, do you have an idea where the criminal Ricky Martin might be?" I ask him, pointing at Ricky's face, he thinks for a second then responds.

"The last we heard of the weirdo Ricky Martin was three days ago in the town straight northwest of here, take the north exit and go up the path along the river, when the path splits you take the right path, you should be able to make it there in a day if you're on foot." He strings with his fingers on his chin.

"Thanks, I'll make sure to report if he has moved since then to the marines, thanks!" I start walking towards the north exit of Donguri, it's been about 3 hours since I woke up on that beach and night is coming fast. 'It's stopped raining but I'll barely be able to walk for 30 minutes before the sun sets, dad's camping and hunting lessons are finally paying off.'

I get to the north exit of the town and see the Donguri sign again, North Exit of Donguri, make sure to visit our town again! I pass the small guard station which in reality is just a small hut with a guy sitting there at a desk doing more paperwork, how much paperwork can a small town make?

Walking down a rural road at dusk with no defenses and nothing on you besides a sharpened pike you made 15 minutes earlier, a strange letter, and 5 bounty posters is a guaranteed way to die if some bandits try to rob you, that's if you can't defend yourself, or instead like me, you literally cannot die. 'I'll need to set up my camp soon and I'll be able to make it to the next town by tomorrow, I haven't made much progress today since I had no time.'

I walk up to the river and crouch down next to it, watching the running water flow downstream, I haven't drunk or eaten anything for the past 4 hours since I've gotten here. 'I mean one sip of salt water can't hurt right?" I cup my hands and dunk them underneath the cool water, then bring them back up and take a sip of the water. 'Freshwater?' I ask myself. 'Why is the water in this river not salt water? Does it have something to do with that strange contraption at the waterfall I saw earlier?'

Crunch, a loud sound brought my attention back to my surroundings. 'That must be my dinner for tonight!' I start sneaking toward the forest where I heard the crunch, I peek behind the tree and see a medium-sized rabbit that would be for than enough for a 5'2 teenager.

I wait for it to stop moving, as soon as its head goes down I sprint toward the rabbit at full speed which seems much faster than my full speed in my universe. The rabbit had no time to react, my makeshift pike stabbed through one of its lungs and it barely got a whimper out before dying.

A rabbit impaled on my stick is not the best sight to see for a hungry stomach, but it allowed me to focus up and finish building my very makeshift campsite. It is just a bunch of propped-up sticks against a tree trunk with a small fire in front of it, it could be better but looks are not what I'm aiming for here.

I grab my rabbit kebob and I start taking off the skin, the blood from the rabbit has already drained so not a lot actually got on my hands as I deskin it. I get some leftover sticks and put one through the mouth of the rabbit and one up… well, I'd rather not talk about where I put the other one but it's enough to support to keep the rabbit up over an open fire. Having to spin a dead rabbit over a fire is very tedious especially since my grumbling stomach can't wait any longer to cook.

After another 15 minutes, I take the rabbit off the open fire and start digging into it. 'Eating something you made yourself normally tastes better but this rabbit tastes like overcooked meat from a crocodile or something, it will keep me full for some time though.' A loud stick snapping pulls my head away from my mostly finished meal to a dude staring at me from behind the tree where my twig hut is.

"W-WHERE DID YOU C-COME FROM? WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I scream out in fear while standing up holding my small pike in my hand, the rabbit's blood still stains the wood. I look around my campsite and see about 5 guys surrounding my campsite, all with some kind of weapon, either a knife or a sword. A sixth guy emerges from the darkness, with a dark coat and a lanky stature, he holds a longsword that he carries with both of his hands with a large rucksack, he stares me down and I get a better look at him, he has a patchy brown beard with a receding hairline, having more hair on his face than the top of his head. 'It's Ricky Martin!'

"Well well well, It looks like you've finally saw us."
