Sara's Favorite Poem
Sara went into the locker room to get an extra hair tie. She was about to open her locker when she noticed the pink piece of paper that stuck to her locker. She gently ripped it off and began to read:
I
was sort of hoping,
That you would come along,
Like the answer
to a prayer,
And the music to a song.
Like
the kind of thing that happens,
At a special place and time,
That
will change our lives forever,
Like a fantasy of mine.
The
fantasy was there before,
I ever knew your name,
And now that I
have found you,
We will never be the same.
So,
pardon, if I look at you,
Forgive me if I stare,
At the fantasy
I knew before,
I saw you standing there.
For
I was always hoping,
That you would come along,
Like the answer
to a prayer,
And the music to a song
By the time she finished she had tears in her eyes. Who could have written this? Nick?...No couldn't be him. Warrick...No he's married. Grissom...Yeah right. I couldn't even get him to go out on one dinner with me. Greg...Maybe. Then again why would such a young guy like him waste time on me. Sara quickly shoved the paper in her locker, she would deal with it later. She walked into the break room only to be greeted by a very sick looking Greg. No one else was there yet so Sara took this opportunity to try to convince him to go home.
"Greg, Are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah I'm just fine, just catching a little cough, thats all" He spoke in a nasal kind of way.
"I think its more than that." Sara got up and walked to the cupboard and got out a coush syrup and a spoon. She set it in front of him. He looked up at her and just stared for a few moments.
"Greg, your staring."
"Forgive me."
"Just drink the medicine."
"Its icky."
"Your acting like a 5 year old Greg."
"So"
"Don't make me force feed it to you."
"Go ahead." Sara gave him a look that could put someone 6 feet underground in a casket.
"Fine."
"And you'll go home."
"No, I won't"
"Greg..."
"Sara..."
"I mean it."
Greg was beginning to get frightened, so he stopped his fussiness.
An hour later...
Greg had gone home about an hour ago. Sara was already finishing her paperwork. The criminals of Las Vegas were taking a break from breaking the law. Sara was free to go after she finished her paperwork. She was going to go see hoe Greg was, then it hit her. Greg wrote the Poem. He must have who else would? He had been caught staring and said forgive me. Just like the poem. This was driving her crazy.
20 minutes later.
She pulled up in front of Greg's apartment complex. He beeped her in when he opened the door Sara barged in and confronted him right then and there.
"Greg, Did you right that poem?"
Greg suddenly found the floor very interesting. "What Poem?"
"Don't play dumb."
"What would you do if I said I did."
"You did, Didn't you?"
Greg confessed "Yes, I did."He looked up at her "What are you going to do about it?"
Sara didn't say anything. She just kissed him. "I take it you liked it?" He said against her lips.
"More than you know."
"Glad to hear that."
This was the beginning of something very beatiful. This was easlily her favorite poem.
