Disclaimer: I don't own Stranger Things or any of its characters. I only own Lisa and her family. I started writing this story back in 2017, but then my hard drive crashed and I lost everything. Reluctantly, I shelved the idea and was just glad I hadn't started posting it when I lost all my work, like some other fics I have on here. But then season 4 aired and seriously kicked my muse into high gear so here we are! So please don't steal this labor of long overdue love! Read on and enjoy!
Paradise Lost
Prologue
Seven has exhibited a series of interconnected abilities whose source can only be described as cerebrokinesis, which I have defined as the power to manipulate, modify and control the thoughts, mindsets, and upper brain functions of others. For now, her powers are limited to an individual but I have high hopes that we can train her so that she will soon be able to affect groups of people. When placed in isolated testing against Eight, Seven showed promise of being able to resist mental attacks but whatever psychic shield she has is very weak and needs more invasive training in order to strengthen it.
Despite this flaw, Seven has displayed a variety of offensive maneuvers ranging from mild to devastating. Although the range and capacity is still being tested, she's shown the ability to control individuals with just her voice and she can temporarily shut down a person's brain functions. We are currently exploring methods to strengthen both abilities, to test their limits and push past them, and discover if we can in fact make the temporary permanent. However, her mental attacks – the ability to use and release her mental power, as I've come to understand it – have the potential of various effects.
Unfortunately, as of now, Seven has only displayed one type that suits my interests: a destructive blast of her own mental energy. Although she has displayed this ability only one time, and lost consciousness for the following day afterwards, I have high hopes that our work together will allow her to control and use it whenever she chooses with minimal risk to her overall health.
With continued training, I believe that more abilities of these natures can be harvested and harnessed to suit our purposes. She must, if our work is going to continue. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to remove her.
