Chapter 4

Hotel

"So, this is quite decent." Said Mirage as he crashed on his rented-out bed while the rest of the Legends were standing around in the hotel room that they had rented out. The group had been escorted her by Mathias man, who promised that it was one of the most affordable hotels on the entire colony while also be comfortable enough for a short-term visit. "Could do with a mini-fridge and some better showers, but I ain't complaining. Not after what we had to deal with a week or two." Wraith just rolled her eyes at that as she thought of how Horizon was doing with that bastard Bask Om.

Even though she just met the man, she could tell that he wasn't a pleasant man at all. Even her voices were warning her to either stay away from him or be cautious around him, despite not knowing anything about him at all. Bloodhound had talked along the way here that they found the Titan officer to be a cold and calculating man that they should not dare trust unless they have no choice. Something that both Wraith and Mirage had to agree with.

Moving on, Wraith hoped that man wasn't being stiff to Horizon about the stuff that they brought with them to the colony. They worked hard to get all that stuff and Mathias assured them that they get good money for their stuff.

Pacing around, Wraith was praying for Horizon's success, getting Mirage's attention.

"Hey, you honestly think that Horizon will have any issues with that red-goggles guy?" Asked Mirage as he looked at Wraith pacing around.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she did." Admitted Wraith. "That man just reeked of trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if he give her a hard time with money along with making jabs at her competence along with ours."

"The man does indeed not give much confidence to those around him." Agreed Bloodhound as they looked out the window of their hotel room, basking in the beauty of the colony. Despite being a literal space station, Bloodhound can see natural grass and trees in certain areas of the space station. Remarkable. "We can only pray to the Gods that Horizon will be successful in acquiring a good amount of money from this venture. Otherwise, we may be forced to find jobs for ourselves as mercenaries. Or worse."

"Yeah, I don't see myself as a mercenary guy." Said Mirage upon hearing that. "I mean I shoot and kill people in the Apex Games, but that's for the money and fame you get. Not that I do that stuff for fun like that psycho Revenant or because I think it's the only way to get money. I mean, I'm doing pretty well right now with my bar and all, but…" He was then stopped when Wraith held her hand, making his stop.

"We know." Said Wraith with slight annoyance at Mirage. "But we may be forced to do it if that Bask Om stiffs on us. Or we may be forced to do common jobs just to survive as well." Imagining himself in a diner, serving people that didn't know him, left Mirage shivering in fright. Before he could speak they suddenly heard the opening of the door followed by a forced slam. Turning to the source, they found Horizon coming to them with a fierce look on her face. She was pissed.

"Why that wee little…Argh!" Said Horizon in frustration as she found a chair to sit on and slumped herself on it. Taking a deep breath, Horizon brushed some strands of hair away before looking at the other Legends, all of whom were looking at her in concern as they rarely ever saw her mad. The only times they ever saw her mad was whenever she confronted the Legend Ash, a Simulacrum of the woman that betrayed her, Ashleigh Reid. Upon finding out, the two were on hostile terms with one another. Well, Horizon was hostile towards the Simulacrum, Ash cared little and saw Horizon like everyone else. A pest and not worth her time.

They then noticed that Horizon had a slap mark on her right cheek along with her space suit being dirtied, causing more concern to erupt from the Legends.

"You okay?" Asked Mirage in concern as he looked at Horizon. "Never see you that frazzled before with anyone but psycho robot number two. And you look like you just got out of a fight."

"Oh, I'm fine dearie." Said Horizon with a weak smile. "Just finalized the deal with that bastard they call a military officer, who just happened to be one of the most frustrating and pigheaded men that I've ever met in my entire life, whose head is so stuck up in his arse that he couldn't see quality even if it's smack right in his..."

"He stiffed you, didn't he? And he slapped you and had you beaten up." Said Wraith bluntly as she looked at Horizon, causing the redhead to sigh.

"Aye." Said Horizon. "Bastard didn't like that I corrected him on the quality of the salvage along with saying that he clearly doesn't know what he's doing when he examined specific engine parts and salvage, I know are higher value than he makes them out to be. Bastard slapped me after the second time and told me to shut up or else I'll lose money." Upon hearing that, the other Legends narrowed their eyes, and their opinion on Bask Om lowered immediately, which got lower as Horizon continued her story. "Then he punched Mathias when he tried to defend me and had his goons beat him up further. I tried to help the man, but Bask Om threatened to have me arrested for obstruction of justice. Obstruction of justice! For beating a man for defending me from a bastard that didn't like what I said!Argh! That man." As Horizon scowled at the memory of Bask Om's smug facial expressions at seeing her look of disbelief when he said that, the other Legends were frowning or scowling at all this.

Wraith had half a mind to go teach Bask Om a lesson. Mirage wanted to go and calm Horizon down after what she went through while also thinking up of ways to either prank or beat up Bask Om for what he did. And Bloodhound was making a prayer to the Gods for justice to be enacted upon Bask Om for the injustices that he inflicted on their comrades. Needless to say, the room was filled with negative emotions right now. After a few minutes, it was Mirage that broke the whole negative feed in the room.

"So, did that bastard stiff you off in money as well?" Asked Mirage, asking an important question that will decide what they need to do next. Upon hearing that question, Horizon sighed before responding.

"A bit, yes, but not too much." Said Horizon with a small smile. "Bastard looked like he wanted to give us nothing, but I guess even he doesn't have enough authority to give us next to nothing for what we got. Have to sell the ship we got as well, but honestly, that thing was on its last legs anyway. It wasn't going to be much help to us. Speaking of which, we'll have to warn Pathy and mister murderous Simulacrum to get out of there and meet up with us. Wraith, can you be a dearie and get them later? Oh, can you also be a dearie and check up on Mathias for me? Last I checked, he was being escorted back to his ship by some of his men. Tell him I'm sorry for what happened and that we thank him for everything that he did." Wraith just nodded at that before speaking up.

"That's great and all, but that's just going to keep us afloat only for a bit. We need to find ways to gain more money." Said Wraith. "We need more money to not only keep us afloat but also to help us get equipment and help in figuring out how to get back home." Upon hearing all that, Horizon gave a smile at Wraith.

"Don't worry, dearie." Said Horizon. "I already got a plan in mind on what to do. I just needed the money from the salvage in order to get that plan rolling." Raising an eyebrow, Wraith and the other Legends listened in as Horizon gave them her plan on what to do next.
