Assassins in the Wizarding World.

Chapter Nine: The Yule Ball.

The Christmas holidays had begun, and everyone was either sitting by the fire, playing games, or exercising to shape their bodies. As it turned out, a lot of the students, including Purebloods, find Physical Education fascinating, and they were wondering why Hogwarts never had it before.

Not all students like the class. Some students, like Malfoy and Ron, didn't like it because they say that magic is useful, and exercising was boring. Malfoy even said, "When my Father hears about this class, you will learn to respect the Malfoy name."

Esdeath just gave Malfoy a sadistic smile and said, "I'd look forward to meet your Father. Maybe he might respect me." All Malfoy did was paled and ran out of the room, making everyone laughed at his cowardice, including Esdeath.

Harry has been spending time in the library, pouring through book by book, trying to find a spell to breath underwater for the Second Task. So far, his only options were the Bubblehead Charm or Gillyweed. He had asked Neville about a plant to breath underwater, and the shy Gryffindor happily showed him Gillyweed.

Wanting to try out Gillyweed, Harry had asked Dobby (A House Elf) if he can get him three batches of it. Dobby happily squealed before returning with three bags of Gillyweed. He gave one to Tatsumi and the book for it, much to Tatsumi's relief.

When Harry heard the clue in Esdeath's classroom, he was a bit worried that someone was going to be stolen from him, though he did blush brightly when Esdeath joined him in the waters, wearing a pale blue bikini outfit. Esdeath was amused by this and teased him a bit before he fainted with a nosebleed.

It was…strange that Harry was friends with Daphne Greengrass and Susan Bones. He wasn't sure why, but every time he was near them, his heart will beat faster, and he would stammer his words a bit. Hermione find it amusing to see Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived, stuttered words when speaking to beautiful girls.

Daphne and Susan were also amused by this, though their hearts were beating fast when they are near Harry. They would tease him by pressing their bodies against him, making him blush brightly. Hermione was supported of having two new people to their group, though she was still tense with Daphne, something that Harry is working on.

Luckily, Ron still hasn't found out yet. And which is why we find Harry sitting at the Common Room with George, Fred and Ginny with no students around.

"What is it that you need to talk to us, Harry?" Ginny asked. She had come down to the girl's dormitory to find Harry, Fred and George waving over to her, seeming that they need to talk about something.

"I want to hear your guy's opinions about Slytherins." Harry said, and the three Weasleys looked surprised. Harry had never asked opinions about Slytherins before.

"Well, I'm not sure if we are the best people to asked, but we can tell you much as you want." Fred frowned.

"For our opinion about the Slytherins, some of them are bad, used to follow You-Know-Who during the war. But they are some who doesn't care about the Blood status, which are the Neutrals, and me and Fred had been talking to some Slytherins." George said, sending a suspicious look at Harry. "Why are you asking that?"

Harry sighed, realizing that his secret is about to be revealed. Bracing himself for the shock looks, he said, "Because I've been spending time with a Slytherin."

The Weasleys were shocked to hear that. A Gryffindor spending time with a Slytherin? But not just any Gryffindor, The Boy-Who-Lived, Harry Potter!

"It's not Malfoy, right?" Fred asked nervously.

"What? No! Oh, god no! Not Malfoy!" Harry exclaimed, shuddering the thought of it. "No, the Slytherin I've been spending time with is Daphne Greengrass."

The Weasleys had a surprised look on their faces. "You're spending time with Greengrass?" They asked.

"Yeah." Harry said, wondering about the surprised look on their faces. "Why, is it that bad I'm spending time with Daphne?"

"No. In fact, I've been spending time with Greengrass, too." Ginny stated, shocking Harry and the Twins. "Her little sister, Astoria Greengrass who is a Second year student."

"Wow, you must be great friends with her." Harry said, earning a smile from the younger Weasley.

"Thanks, and the Greengrass family is actually nice." Ginny explained. "They don't care about Blood status and never followed You-Know-Who."

"So, you guys are okay with me hanging out with Daphne?" Harry asked, a bit stunned that the Weasleys aren't trying to separate him and Daphne, more like encourage them.

"Yeah, we don't mind." Fred said with a grin. "But why are you asking about that?"

Harry frowned, wondering he should tell them about Ron. He knew that Ron wouldn't like the idea that Harry spending time with Slytherins. In the end, he said, "Because I'm a bit scared if Ron finds out. What's his opinion about Slytherins?"

The Weasleys looked at each other and were unsure how to answer that. It was true that Ron hates everyone in Slytherin, but would he give them a chance or not?

"To be honest, Harry, I think it's best you should be ready to deal with Ron." Ginny said, frowning at the thought of Harry and Ron arguing.

"(Sigh) I was afraid of that…" Harry said, running a hand through his hair, making it messier. "But can you all do me a favor and keep an eye on Ron during the Yule Ball?"

The Weasleys nodded and they all went their separate ways. Fred and George went to the Great Hall to spend time with their girlfriends, Ginny got homework to do, and Harry left to go meet with Esdeath to practice more of his ice powers.

"Why do I get the feeling that this might be the end of friendship between me and Ron?" Harry wondered, as he walked down the corridors to Esdeath's office.

(Two Days Later; The Yule Ball)

Harry was nervous as he waited with the other champions at the entrance of the Great Hall. He was waiting for his date to the ball, Daphne Greengrass, who was taking her time to get ready. He knew that Ron would throw a fit when he sees Harry with a Slytherin, so he had prepared a few hexes and curses just in case the situation gets out of hand.

Harry was glad that he asked Professor Flitwick for some defense books and some advanced spells. He can tell that the tiny Professor was happy that Harry was taking his studies seriously and offered him some dueling practices. Harry immediately said yes, and so far, his Magical power is on par with a teacher, maybe closed to Dumbledore's Magical power!

His other training with Esdeath is going well. Harry had gotten books from the library and learned much about Elementals as he can. He was also practicing how to use a sword because he learned that Elementals can used a form to increase their speed, power and strength, and so far, it was going slow. He was determined to master this form and use it for the Second Task.

But he can worry about it some other time. Right now, Harry wanted to enjoy dancing with his two dates: Susan Bones and Daphne Greengrass.

Tatsumi, on the other hand, was waiting patiently for Akame, and he, unlike Harry, was not nervous. He was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath, black pants that were smooth and black polish shoes. He had his hair comb and he looked handsome.

Cedric Diggory was wearing black dress robes that had a bowtie while talking to his date, Cho Chang. Cho Chang was a beautiful young woman, who was in her Fifth year and was wearing a silver, Chinese dress that goes well with her heritage.

Krum was wearing red dress robes that seemed to be made fur and he was leaning against the wall, waiting for his date.

Fleur looked extremely stunning and was wearing a silver-grey satin. Her partner, Roger Davies, was talking to her, though Harry and Tatsumi noticed that she looked annoyed to be with him.

Tatsumi looked at Harry, who was wearing the same suit as Tatsumi, and was greatly amused to see Harry nervous. The Yule Ball hasn't started yet, and Harry is already nervous.

'House of Brave, huh?' Tatsumi thought, barely surpassing a snort. 'If Harry can knock out a troll, kill a Basilisk, repel a hundred Dementors, blasted a Dragon's face in half, and impressed Esdeath, Harry should be in the House of Brave, not the House of Nervousness.'

"Nervous, Harry?" Tatsumi asked with amusement in his voice.

"I'm not nervous about dancing." Harry hissed at Tatsumi, earning a frown from brown-hair man. "I'm nervous about what's going to happened later."

Tatsumi still had the frown on his face. "Why, is something going on?"

Harry sighed heavily before explaining, "It's Ron. I haven't told him that I was spending time with Daphne. You know the girl who was in the library with us?" Tatsumi nodded. "I have a feeling that our friendship would be over the moment Ron sees who my date is."

Tatsumi was wondering whose Harry's date was, but he would see any moment now. "Harry, I don't know much about Dark Wizards, but I think Ron would give Daphne a chance."

"If not?" Harry asked, dreading the answer.

Tatsumi didn't answer him, which confirmed Harry's fears: He would lose his friendship with Ron.

There was silence for a moment before they heard footsteps coming from the stairs. They turned around and felt their breath hitched at the sight before them.

Coming down the stairs to the entrance of the Great Hall, walking proudly and fashion, was Akame and Daphne. Akame had her long hair tied to a bun, and it had become silkier and more beautiful. She was wearing a black dress that showed her curves and her long legs that were pale and shining from the light. She looked like an angel that descended from the heavens.

Daphne looked stunning and beautiful. She had her hair curled and was wearing a bit of makeup on her face. she was wearing a light blue dress that was V-shape, showing her curves and a bit of her cleavage, something that made Harry blushed.

Daphne walked over to where Harry was and he couldn't stop starring at her, something that made an amused smile on her face. She then leaned downwards, showing more of her cleavage and said, "Like what you see, Harry?"

Harry got out of his stupor and just said, "Wow…you look beautiful…"

Daphne giggled a bit, finding it funny that her crush was stammering of her beauty. "Thank you."

After teasing him for a minute, she stopped, and Harry offered her his arm, like Professor McGonagall instructed during practice dances. She gladly took it and any second now, the doors to the Great Hall will open and everyone will see Harry's date.

'If Ron tries to make my date go bad, I will hex him.' Harry thought, making sure that his wand is in his wand holster, which he got for Christmas. Professor Flitwick told him that Auror's used wand holsters to get their wands out faster than reaching behind their pockets. The Auror's even used it during the First Wizarding War.

Harry turned to look at Daphne, who had a surprised look on her face from looking at something. "Daphne, what's wrong? He asked, following her gazed before he became surprised, and his jaw dropped.

Viktor Krum was talking to a pretty girl that was wearing a pink dress and had shiny, brown hair that was tied to a bun. When she turned around, Harry was surprised to see…

"Hermione?!" Harry exclaimed, wondering if his eyes were seeing things. Daphne seemed to wonder the same thing.

Hermione looked around and spotted Harry, Daphne, Tatsumi and Akame. "Hey, Harry, Daphne, Tatsumi and Akame!" Hermione said, walking up to them with Krum behind her.

"Your Krum's date to the Yule Ball?" Harry asked, staring wide eye at the girl, who giggled at his expression.

"Yeah, remembering all the time he was in the library?" Hermione asked, making Harry nod. "Well, he has been coming to the library to try and talk to me and didn't had courage a bit."

Hermione giggled at Krum's face, though he did have a small smile. Tatsumi and Akame also laughed, glad that their friend has a date.

Harry was happy for Hermione, though he had a slight frown on his face when he thought of Ron. Hermione saw the frown on his face and said, "If you're thinking about Ron, I'm prepared, too. I think that this night might change our lives and friendships."

Before anyone can say anything, Professor McGonagall came out the Great Hall and called out, "Champions, form a line and be ready to walk into the Great Hall!"

The champions lined up and Harry and Daphne took a deep breath before entering the Great Hall.

The Great Hall was spectacular and beautiful. It was filled with Christmas decorations, with the walls sparkled with lights. There was a huge dance floor in the middle of the hall, where people can dance, including small round tables to sit at.

The people, who were standing on each side for the champions to walk, were applauding at the champions, though they did hear things like,

"Is that Potter and Greengrass together?"

"Look at how beautiful that black-hair girl is!"

"Is that Granger with Viktor Krum?"

"Greengrass is so beautiful! Why is she with a Gryffindor, though?"

The champions kept walking to the judges table, though Harry noticed that Ron was in the crowd, looking at him with an expression of anger, shock and pure disbelief, like he couldn't believe that Harry is with a Slytherin.

Harry ignored the look on Ron's face and kept walking to the judge's table. Dumbledore, Madam Maxime, Igor Karkaroff, Bagman and to Harry's surprised, Percy Weasley and Esdeath were sitting on chairs, applauding to the champions.

All the judges were wearing dress robes while Esdeath was wearing a blue dress that was a bit tight on her, showing her curves and her huge breasts. A lot of the male population couldn't stop staring at Esdeath, something that made her amused a little, while the girls were glaring at Esdeath.

Tatsumi and Akame looked around the hall in awe and amazement. They had never done this decoration when they were at the palace, though they did sweat drop when they saw Leone drinking a lot of beer, wearing a skimpy black dress that showed all her skin. A couple older boys were sitting near her, trying to woo her over, but it doesn't seemed to be working at all.

Dumbledore stood up and the hall was silent instantly. His blue eyes were twinkling merrily as he looked around in the hall with a broad smile on his face.

"Welcome everyone to the Yule Ball!" Dumbledore said cheerfully, making the crowd applaud loudly. "Now, before we can dance, we must wait for a few minutes until the ball actually starts."

A lot of students groaned at that; they want to dance now, not wait.

Dumbledore chuckled a bit, it was amusing to hear that sound when he was teaching at Hogwarts. "As much as you all want to dance, we must wait. 'Patience is a virtue' as the Muggles would say."

A couple people laughed at that, while others were confused. Chuckling, Dumbledore said, "Now, why don't we all sit down and enjoy talking for a few minutes before we all dance?"

There was a lot of chatter as everyone sat down and began talking and eating. Harry noticed that Ron's date, Padma Patil, was sulking and was crossing her arms. She did send a few glares at Ron, but he didn't noticed it as he was glaring at Harry and Hermione.

Harry sighed, realizing that the friendship might be over. Not wanting to deal with it, Harry turned to Esdeath and asked, "Professor, are you going to dance?"

Esdeath looked at Harry and shook her head. "No, I do not want any man touching me. The only person that's allowed to touch me is Tatsumi." Tatsumi blushed when she said that, only to hiss a bit of pain when Akame elbowed him in the ribs and glared at him.

After a few minutes, Dumbledore stood up and said, "Everyone, the Yule Ball will now start, I hope you all enjoy yourselves and have fun dancing with your dates."

When the old Wizard said that, everyone applauded and began to head to the dance floor, ready to dance for their lives.

The Yule Ball has started, and Harry and Daphne are ready to dance of their lives. Ron has found out Harry is going with a Slytherin and looked incredibly angry. Will the friendship remain, and Ron gives Daphne a chance, or will they never talk again? Let's find out in the next chapter!
