The trio exit the house quickly, Sophie still clinging to the Time Lord's hand. The streets are crowded with Cybermen. The Doctor picks Sophie up and grabs Rose's hand, the group takes off at a run. They run in and out of side streets, headed for the TARDIS.
"Where are we headed?" Sophie murmurs, for her head is pressed into the Time Lord's chest.
"Hmmmm, what was that, Soph?" The Oncoming Storm questions.
"I said," Sophie says turning her head so her ear is pressed to his chest, and she thinks she hears two heartbeats, "where are we going? But now I have another question. Do you have two heartbeats?"
"To answer question one, we're headed to my TARDIS, Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space, my time and spaceship. To answer the second question, I have two hearts which equals two heartbeats."
"That's rad, dude! Another question," she begins, whilst leaning back in the Doctors arms, "are you an alien?"
"Yeah, I'm an alien, Rose isn't. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, that's so cool," Sophie declares happily, "and you have a time machine. What kind of alien are you? Like are you a Time Duke or something?"
The Doctor sniffs indignantly, "Time LORD, actually."
"And Rose is your lady, right?"
Rose and the Doctor blush. Their skin resembles that of bannakaffalaatta. "No, sweetie, we're just friends." Rose says recovering from the question first.
"Oh, that's cool, too. Can I be your friend?" Sophie asks, hope filling her voice. She thinks it would be cool to be friends with an alien. She would be the only person among her friends to know an alien, or a time-traveller.
"Well, of course you can be our friend. Isn't that right, Rose?" The Doctor says, turning to the girl in question. Rose nods her head, smiling at the child. "And here we are, the TARDIS."
"Your spaceship is a box," Sophie deadpans as she starts trying to wiggle out of the Time Lords arms.
"Oi, don't diss the TARDIS," The Doctor proclaims, lowering Sophie to the ground. "Now," he says, opening the 'wooden' doors of the blue box, "welcome to the TARDIS."
The girl dashes into the box and madly runs about the console room. "I take it back," she shouts, still running about, "this is the coolest box ever!"
"See, Rose, she thinks it's cool," the Doctor says referencing an argument from earlier.
"She's–," Rose begins, then realized she doesn't know the child's age. "Oi, Sophie."
"Yes, Miss Rose?" Sophie says, trying to be polite.
"How old are you, sweetheart?"
"I'm five,"she says, holding up five fingers to emphasize that fact.
"She's five, Doctor, everything is cool to her."
The Doctor gets a pouty look upon his face and Rose sticks out her tongue. The Doctor then realized that there is a hyper five-year-old dashing about the TARDIS. And an army of Cybermen with said girls parents in their clutches. Most likely Sophie's parents have been converted or killed, but the Doctor, of course, is an optimist. He will believe they are alive until he has proof of death.
"So, Sophie, do you know what your dad's name is?" The Doctor asks whilst running up to the console, so that once he gets the details he can run a search.
The five-year-old clears her throat, nods, and replies, "His name is Dad, spelled D-A-D," she says with a helpful smile. She was pleased she could answer the question.
"Riiight," the Last Time Lord says, smiling slightly. 'You ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer,' he thinks. "What's your Dad's job?"
"He catches bad people and puts them in jail."
"So your father's a police officer, sweetie?" Rose inquires. The small child nods before hitting a button on the console.
The Doctor moves towards the girl. He picks her up from behind, spins her around, so her legs are wrapped around his torso. "Soph, hey, why don't we go and find some buttons you can press without possibly hurtling bus into a star."
The girl sheepishly nods before throwing her arms around her new friends neck. She leans toward his ear and whispers, "Thank you, for helping me," she proceed to pull at his ear.
"Owwwwws," he whines, pulling his head away from her hands, "You are very welcome." He then dashes down the corridor carrying the girl. Rose follows behind them, smiling at the Time Lord and the child. The Doctor with kids, who would've thought.
The Doctor knows the exact room he trying to locate. It's a room with buttons and levers filling it. Every space on the wall has something on it. They arrive at the room and the Doctor sets Sophie down, he then heads to a panel on the wall. He slides the panel away to reveal a screen on the wall, he types police officer into the search bar. "Soph, can you tell me your last name?"
"McCoy," she replies, then she pulls a lever and giggles. The Time Lord adds McCoy to the search bar, he sets the parameters to London and calls the girl over to him.
Rose is standing in the doorway watching the Doctor interact with the child. She smiles, for it is a very cute sight. She watches as the Time Lord picks up the girl, again and shows her the police officers that could possibly be her Dad.
Sophie smiles and points at a picture of a man with a smile very similar to Sophies. "That's him, that's my, Dad!" The Doctor clicks on the file of him. There's a picture of a woman who's hair is the same color of blonde as Sophies. "That's mummy," she says helpfully.
"Alrighty, Sophie, why don't you and Miss Rose play with the levers and buttons for a bit while I look for your parents." The Oncoming Storm says crouching in front of the five-year-old. She smiles and nods at him happily
"Oh, Doctor," she says, "I found this in the garden," she says holding up the databank she found. "I don't know if it's important or anything but, here," she thrusts the metal cylinder in his hands and skips off.
She skips over to Rose and grabs her hand. She drags Rose over to a section of purple buttons and begins hitting them at random.
The Doctor turns on the infostamp and watches as pictures of his faces appear on the wall. The Doctor turns back to the screen setting the infostamp on a ledge nearby. He proceeds to run a sample of Sophie's DNA, and trust to find her father.
