Sophie leans against his arm, looking around the room. "It's been a little since I've been to the Black Archive. Forgot how creepy this place can be."

He leans his head down, "That's probably the dead Dalek...and seeing some of your stuff laying about."

"Yeah, that's a bit disconcerting, seeing as I'm certain I haven't donated any of this. I just find things slowly disappearing over periods of time." Her eyes look up to the left, a thoughtful look crossing her face, "Hang on, does that mean that UNIT officers are breaking into my house?"

"Eh," the Time Lord shrugs, his younger self meandering over, "It's more likely interns, not officers. Maybe a soldier here and there."

"That is not, at all, comforting!"

Clara comes hurrying over to her Doctor. "We need to go, now," she tells him, grabbing his hand.

His eyes widen, "What, why? What's going on? Are you okay?"

"It's you, younger you. He just left to destroy Gallifrey. He doesn't have to be alone."

The Time Lords look at each other, weighing the options. They both turn to look at Sophie. She winks at them, "Have fun, boys. Don't worry I'll supervise the negotiations."

"Why don't you come?" Clara asks.

"You'll see. Now go," she shoos the aliens away. The younger one stops for a moment, kissing her cheek. The oldest Time Lord grabs her hand, pulling her toward him. He presses a quick kiss to her temple.

Turning back toward the exit, he says, "Be careful, Lyn."

"Not a chance," she winks at them.

The three smile, quickly leaving the tower.

*Younger Sophie and the War Doctor*

Sophie looks up from the big, red button in front of them, as loud elephantine wheezing fills the dingy barn. Turning, she sees two TARDIS', big blue boxes to be precise, materialize in the barn. Turning to look at the Warrior, she asks, "What the f*ck is happening?"

"I wish I knew," he responds, ignoring her choice of words.

The doors of both boxes open simultaneously, from the one on the left, the Doctor covered in pinstripes emerges, and from the box on the right, the Bow tie Doctor steps out, Clara directly behind him. She looks shocked to see Sophie, but the girl pays her no heed.

She keeps her eyes pasted on the eldest Doctor's face. Slowly letting the tension drop from her shoulders. "Doctor-er, Doctor's? What...how are you here?"

The War Doctor doesn't seem to care how or why, simply saying, "Go away now, all of you. This is for me."

"These events should be time-locked. We shouldn't even be here," Sandshoes says, gazing around the barn. His eyes stop to linger on his best friend, smiling largely at her.

"So something let us through," Chinny adds, also smiling at the girl.

"Go back," the Warrior says, his hand hovering over the big red button from the Moment. "Go back to your lives. Go and be the Doctor that I could never be. Make it worthwhile."

The girl looks over at him, seeing the pain in his eyes. She turns slightly, glancing at the other two Doctors, confusion and pleading just behind her eyes.

"All those years, burying you in my memory," Sandshoes says.

"Pretending you didn't exist. Keeping you a secret, even from myself," Bow tie continues.

"Pretending you weren't the Doctor, when you were the Doctor more than anybody else."

Sophie smiles looking back over at the War Doctor, even with both of her hands hovering over the button, along with his.

"You were the Doctor on the day it wasn't possible to get it right," Chinny adds.

"But this time," the spikey haired Time Lord starts.

"You don't have to do it alone," Bow tie finishes.

"...I mean, he wasn't going to...and technically, if you two help, he'll still be doing it alone...I'm assuming you're aware I came to help so he wasn't alone."

Pinstripes leans over, immediately kissing her cheek. She smiles slightly at him, grabbing his hand. The bow tie Time Lord grasps her other hand, his lips finding her hair. Together, she moves both of her hands over the button, where the War Doctor's hand still hovers.

"Thank you," the youngest Gallifreyan says, sincerity dripping from his words.

"What are friends for, eh?" she smiles sadly at him.

"What we do today is not out of fear or hatred," Pinstripes says, squeezing her hands slightly, "It is done because there is no other way."

"And it is done in the name of the many lives we are failing to save," the elder Time Lord says. Sophie squeezes his hand slightly as well.

The Gallifreyan tears his eyes from his friends, to look over at Clara, who's fervently shaking her head. "What? What is it? What?"

"Nothing," she says, but Sophie can hear how she's trying to hold back her tears.

"No, it's something. Tell me."

"You told me you wiped out your own people. I just. I never pictured you doing it, that's all."

Sophie glances at the teacher, before switching to look at the Time Lord, seeing the pain on his face. Before she can say anything, all around them the suns lights dim, showing a city at night, kids playing everywhere. Women and men are in fervent conversation, smiles playing across their faces. "What's happening?" Sophie asks, the smallest traces of fear in her voice.

"Nothing," the Warrior brushes it off, "It's a projection."

The scene changes to a large group of men and women in red armour, the seal of Rassilon pasted to their chests. "These are the people you're going to burn?" Clara asks, letting the tears fall down her face.

"There isn't anything we can do," Sandshoes says, face full of regret.

"He's right. There isn't another way. There never was. Either I destroy my own people or let the universe burn."

Sophie can't help but feel sad, at the pain that fills the three Time Lord's voices, tears threatening to leak from her eyes.

"Look at you," Clara starts, "The three of you. The warrior, the hero, and you."

"And what am I?" Chinny grumbles.

"Have you really forgotten?" the teacher asks him.

"Yes," he nods furiously, glancing at Sophie. She smiles sadly at him, squeezing his hand, "Maybe, yes."

"We've got enough warriors. Any old idiot can be a hero."

"Then what do I do?"

"What you've always done. Be a doctor. You told me the name you chose was a promise. What was the promise?"

Around them Gallifrey freezes, the children standing stock still, while the three Doctor's step back from the moment, Sophie stepping with them.

"Never cruel or cowardly," Sandshoes says.

"Never give up, never give in," the Warrior adds.

The image of Gallifrey vanishes, the suns lights once again shining through into the dilapidated barn. Sophie squints, her eyes adjusting to the light. "Wait, are you guys seriously gonna change your own personal history."

"We change history all the time. I'm suggesting far worse," Chinny grins.

"What, exactly?" the Warrior questions.

"Gentlemen, I have had four hundred years to think about this. I've changed my mind."

He whips out his sonic screwdriver, aiming it directly at the Moment. The big button slowly lowers back into the box, and Sophie smiles slightly. She pulls her hands back from the box, Sandshoes stepping back as well. The War Doctor looks at him incredulously, "There's still a billion billion Daleks up there, attacking."

"Oh, yes there are," Sophie smiles.

"But there's something those billion billion Daleks don't know," Pinstripes agrees.

"Because if they did, they'd probably send for reinforcements," Chinny agrees.

"What? What don't they know?" Clara asks.

"Well, the Daleks are expecting one Doctor, but there are three. They never stood a chance."

"Oh! Oh, yes, that is good. That is brilliant!" the Warrior agrees.

"Oh, oh, oh, I'm getting that too! That is brilliant!" Sandshoes shouts, jumping up and down.

"Ha, ha, ha! I've been thinking about it for centuries," the eldest Time Lord finger guns at his younger selves.

"She didn't just show me any old future, she showed me exactly the future I needed to see," the Warrior shouts.

"Are you alright? You're talking more jibberish than normal. Are you having a stroke!" Sophie asks, although she had a sneaking suspicion she knows what's going on.

"Eh? Who did?" Chinny asks, looking at his younger self, but catching the look on Sophie's face.

"Oh, Bad Wolf girl, I could kiss you," the youngest Doctor finishes.

The reference to Bad Wolf confirms her suspicion. The Moment, it has a conscience, as she recalls the Time Lord saying. That means, her sonicing of the Moment actually worked, and it activated the machines conscience. "Oh, no, you're just the normal amount of crazy. Got it. Understood completely."

"Sorry," Pinstripes says, "did you just say Bad Wolf?"

Ignoring him, Clara asks, "So what are we doing? What's the plan?"

"The Dalek fleets are surrounding Gallifrey, firing on it constantly," the Warrior starts.

"The Sky Trench is holding, but what if the whole planet just disappeared?" spikey-haired Doctor continues.

"Tiny bit of an ask," Clara comments.

"The Daleks would be firing on each other. They'd destroy themselves in their own crossfire."

"Gallifrey would be gone, the Daleks would be destroyed," the War Doctor starts, "and it would look to the rest of the universe as if they'd annihilated each other."

"But where would Gallifrey be?" Sophie questions.

"Frozen. Frozen in an instant of time, safe and hidden away," Pinstripes says.

"Exactly," the older Doctor says.

"Like a painting," the younger finishes.
