1. GIBIGIANNA | SUCCUBUS | WC: 804
Gianna pushed open the door, smiling faintly at the soft jingle of the bell and the warm call of welcome from the shopkeep. Cashier. She wasn't really sure what the term in vogue was nowadays, but she knew this woman deserved a much nicer title.
"Hiya, hon," Gianna greeted her cashier warmly, leaning on the counter with a smile and a downward push of her chest just so.
"Gianna," Sally sighed, exasperated, though she smiled back.
"Sally," Gianna echoed sensually, mouthing the name in a way that often made men drool.
"Can I get you anything?" Sally asked, holding a hand up to halt Gianna when she opened her mouth. "Other than my body. Candy-wise, Gia."
Gianna drooped, letting her body fall onto her crossed arms on the counter with a pout. She gave Sally her best pout, blinking her eyes and widening them just so, slumping even her wings — the first thing Sally ever noticed about her, those months ago — to finish the image.
Sally rolled her eyes. "That's a no, then, why don't I pack you some fudge, so you have an excuse when you tip me a ridiculous amount?" Sally offered, expertly unfolding the box without any acknowledgement. "You look a little overdressed to just be visiting me though, Gianna."
"I could never be overdressed for you, my love, my one and only—"
"Gianna," Sally interrupted sharply, raising one flawless eyebrow. Gianna sighed again, pushing herself off the counter and spinning in an exaggerated circle, glad for once that her wings were mostly immaterial nowadays, as she would have knocked the turnstile full of lollies to the ground if they weren't.
"I only say the truth, Sally my love," Gianna insisted.
"I've heard that before…" Sally teased.
"Oh, from your 'hot god lover?'" Gianna scoffed. "Men, they never know how to love a woman. Much less when they're gods. I could do you so much better."
"I'll pass, Gia." Sally said, depositing the last of the fudge into the box and setting it aside on the counter, not yet ringing it up.
"Bummer," Gianna complained, flouncing down the aisles. There weren't any other employees in the front just then— though she could faintly feel the presence of two in the back room. "Your coworkers aren't very helpful."
"It's better they were in back then up here, as you make it very difficult to be a proper employee," Sally said. "It's also good you never drop in when any other customers are here. Although, your timing is off a bit, since Percy's coming back from school soon, I know you try to avoid him."
Gianna hummed, peering down at the boxes of taffy contemplatively. She may as well get some, she had the money and it would get eaten by someone, if not by her. "I'd feel less inclined to avoid him if you let me get him some training, love of my life. As it is, he's likely to go to camp and come out ready to murder me the second he sees me." Gianna scooped some taffy into a bag at random, glancing back at Sally where she waited at the register. "Life of a succubus, you know how it is."
"I don't," Sally denied. "I'd like to hope he grows into the kind of person to ask before he… ah, you know."
"Kills monsters?" Gianna offered with a shrug, closing her bag of taffy with a twist tie. "Oh, I couldn't blame him if he didn't. Greek kids — they reek, a result of some choice by their gods some centuries ago. I'm not sure anyone but Greek monsters stay within a block of them… though I know you've got a few… interesting folk in your apartment building. If you ever need help, I'm sure you can find them."
"When have you been to my apartment?" Sally asked suspiciously, eyes narrowing as Gianna just shrugged and smiled innocently. "And… thank you, I think. I'll keep that in mind… er, what— who exactly is in my apartment complex?"
"You'll find out eventually," Gianna gave a non-answer, pulling her wallet from her purse and sorting out a few 20s, setting them down on the counter and ignoring Sally's half-hearted protests. She'd never not overpaid. "Anyways, it was nice seeing you Sally, the love of my life. Let me know if you need anything, I know I've given you my number quite a few times, just call, hon. Now I get to seduce some men."
"Why? You don't like men?"
"A favor to a friend. Lust-crazed men are always easier to, how did he put it? Hoodwink." Gianna winked for good measure, blowing Sally a final kiss as she pulled open the door to the sound of it's quiet jingle. "Bye, love of my life, soul of mine, darling dear~!"
a/n: This is an actually spastic anthology of times people, the majority of whom are not particularly human or mortal, met Sally Jackson and decided she deserved the world. Because she does deserve the world. No pairings, just friendship and a bit of flirting. Update schedule is nonexistent, maybe every day, maybe never again, one-shots will be anywhere between like 300 words and 2,000. Anyways enjoy, chapters will be titled with the word prompt (I gave myself) that inspired it, as well as the who/what is interacting with Sally, and the word count. They are in no particular order.
This is what I'm writing instead of working on my stories, because most of it is just happy fluff and low-effort since it doesn't have to connect to anything. I have been working on my other stories, I swear. I'll get to them eventually. This originally started as a mythology anthology series and then spiralled. Reviews are always appreciated, check out my profile for other ways to get in touch…
