The wind felt like ice, Steph's hair was blowing everywhere and it felt like whiplash against her face.

"Here, let me help," Jason said, taking the hair tie from her wrist and pulling her blonde hair back into a ponytail.

"Thank you," Steph replied, shivering as the wind howled around them. "How much longer?"

"Maybe another half hour, here," Jason replied, shrugging his jacket off and placing it over Steph's shoulders.

"Are you sure?" Steph asked, inhaling deeply as the warmth seeped into her skin.

"I am, I am the perfect boyfriend," Jason smiled, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Jason, why is Damian here and cleaning mud out of your boots?" Steph asked, sitting next to him on the couch.

"He lost a bet, so now he's my slave for the next two hours," Jason smirked, turning to Steph. "Do you need anything cleaned?"

"Well, since he's doing shoes at the moment, I have a few pairs that need mud and dirt cleaned out of them and I hate doing it myself. They're by the door," Steph replied as Jason got up and grabbed her shoes.

"Dami, guess what? I have more shoes for you to clean, little brother."

Walking into the kitchen, Steph looked at the mess around her. Jason was standing in the middle, covered in flour and an assortment of other stuff she couldn't pinpoint. Looking around, she could tell Jason had been hard at work preparing for dinner tonight.

"Jason… Babe… Alfred only asked us to bring one dish for dinner, not four," Steph said, stepping close to him and wiping the flour off his nose.

"I estimated how many we would really need as Dick, Tim, and Damian all can't cook."

"You do have a very fair point there. Can I help with anything?"

Scrambling around the bedroom, Jason couldn't find anything he needed. He was searching high and low and no matter where he looked; nothing.

Hearing the front door open, Jason raced out into the living room and stared at Stephanie for a moment. "Have you seen my gun holsters, my knife holsters, and my spare rounds?" he asked, hoping Steph knew.

"I have, they are all in the laundry. You said you were going to clean them. Jason! Did you forget?" Steph asked, placing the pile of books she was carrying on the table.

"Um, I may have accidently forgotten that…"

Sitting at the dining room table at Jason's apartment, Steph concentrated on the material in front of her. She had a research paper due in three weeks and she was getting nowhere with it. She couldn't concentrate at her place as her mother was always being annoying, Wayne Manor was always hectic, and Jason's was always peaceful.

"How did I know you'd be here," Jason said, smiling at her as he walked inside and locked the door behind him.

"Did you bring food?" Steph asked, smelling something delicious.

"I did, for you, my love, I have your favourite steamed dumplings."

Walking as quickly as she could down the white corridors of the hospital, Steph turned the corner and saw mostly everyone sitting down on the hard chairs, heads in their hands but it was hard to tell.

"Steph!" Jason said, taking three big strides over to her and pulling her into a strong hug.

"What happened?" Steph softly asked, wondering what went wrong.

"Cass and Tim both got hurt in the explosion, we couldn't get to them before the paramedics did," Jason replied, holding Steph close still.

"I just want my boyfriend to be okay," Bernard added, his eyes red.
