AN: I just wanted to thank everyone who voted on the poll. Based on the results of the poll I have decided that Percy will be staying inside the dungeon for 3 weeks to a month. I plan to have some interesting developments during that time, well at least I find them interesting, so I hope you do as well!

Last Time~

"Well. Since my little mining session is over with… I should probably get going again. Speaking of mining.. Maybe I should invest in coin once that comes out? That will be in five years though.. I should have more than enough time to save up. Especially if I end up selling some of this silver I got. Anyways, let's head in." I thought out loud and started my trek deeper into the cave.

Now~

I clutched the crude knife in my hands tightly as I crept along the shadows cave walls. I had not seen any more goblins since those 8 that I had killed. Now that I think about it, those goblins looked different than what I had imagined them to be. They were just as savage as I had imagined, but they didn't look as strange. Normally you see goblins portrayed with elongated faces, or atleast pinocchio like noses, but these looked more like humans. Although they were definitely more animalistic than humans. They kind of reminded me of the goblins in one anime I watched with Elisa… something about a slime. I can't remember the name since it was when she was four.

Other than the odd thoughts that crossed my mind, I finally saw a light at the end of the tunnel, literally not figuratively. A gust of wind blew through the 8 foot wide entrance to the mine. I immediately felt refreshed and honestly astonished, because it was the cleanest air I had ever breathed. It reminded me of the cave Pan rested in before he died. I rushed towards the entrance and squinted as a bright light invaded my eyes. A small ping sounded in my ear and I turned my eyes to the blue box that had appeared in front of me.

"Hey Alexa, what are Random Item Chests?" I asked the ever present voice inside my head.

Random Item Chests are, as the name suggests, chests gained from dungeons and clearing quests. They can grant items of their rank and 2 ranks above. For instance the F- rank chest can give items ranging from F-, F, and F+ ranks. They could be anything from weapons or jewelry or even armor. I closed my eyes, enjoying the unpolluted air and the sun streaming down onto my face as I thought over what she had said. For my rank, I might be able to get some decent items. A weapon would be preferable but I would take what I can get at this stage. Even If I am stronger than the goblins, punching bone still hurts quite a lot. I still remember how bruised my knuckles were after punching all those little gremlins. Luckily the bruises faded in a few hours.

There was also something strange that I noticed. I got injured a few times due to sharp rocks and such, while the wounds faded and my health regenerated, the scratches left by the wounds stayed for a while. They closed up and the skin felt no different, but it was obvious something had injured me there before it faded. It honestly makes me curious as to whether I can still get permanent scars, since I had quite a few before my reincarnation… and Rias liked them quite a lot. She said that was proof of the life I had lived. She told me often that she considered them like badges of honor. It made me feel better about them.

I couldn't keep a wistful smile off my face as I thought about her. I adored her more than life itself, just as I had with Elisa. They were the reason I am doing this. I will do anything to get them back. I looked down at the area in front of the mine with renewed determination. I was on the edge of a small hill, probably about twenty feet up, on a man-made, or I guess Goblin-made, ledge carved into the hill itself with shoddy wooden railings to make sure they did not fall off. There was a large forest beneath the hill, expanding for miles. Off in the distance, I could make out a small village, with animal pens. It kind of made me think about goblins more. In games and even shows they are almost always shown as having extremely low intelligence, but here they are, making homes and raising cattle, even mining and forging. They definitely have a more complex society than I had originally thought.

I pushed these thoughts out of my head for the time being and started walking down the path carved into the mountain. There was a small trail that had been carved in between the trees overtime, with marks of a small cart being taken through. I started following them deeper into the beautiful green forest. The plants looked similar to ones I had seen before, but also slightly different. There were plenty of wild animals as well. Birds, insects, a few snakes here and there, even rabbits. I probably made it a mile from the hill I came in at before my luck ran out. Deep growls echoed from around me as the noises of nature quieted. I grabbed two of the heavily damaged crude daggers from my inventory and held them in each hand as I slowly slipped into a fighting stance. I quickly looked around me to assess how many enemies there were. I counted 6 pure white wolves and used Observation on them.

(Albino Wolves are the natural predator of lower rank goblins, so they tend to stick near goblin settlements to prey on the weak and unfortunate ones. They are vicious predators who attack anything that gets near their territory.)

I cursed silently, these wolves were much stronger than the goblins I fought previously, and almost matched my speed. Luckily my stamina, dexterity, and strength were all greater than theirs. So I definitely had the advantage there. I had 8 stat points I could use to give myself an advantage.. But I needed to save them for later. Since at this point it was still relatively easy for me to raise my stats via training. Considering the situation though.. I put the stat points I had into the one stat that could truly make a difference in this situation. Luck.

Lck 10!

My luck has always been the worst. Whether that was the doing of the Fates in my previous life or not, this life would be different. Since I can raise every stat except luck. For now, I should focus on raising luck up to at least 25 or 50. I turned slowly as the wolves crept towards me until finally one of them broke the stalemate by lunging at me from behind. Immediately my instincts told me to duck and I did so, whipping my arm around and slashing the stomach of the wolf that lunged at me, causing its red blood to spill on me. Before I even had time to wipe the blood out of my eyes I had to dodge again, causing me to slam into a tree since my vision was blocked. By the time I got the blood out of my eyes the remaining 5 wolves had surrounded me preventing my escape.

They glared at me with hateful eyes and I stared right back. In an instant three of the wolves lunged at me while the other two stalked closer. I turned around and ran at the tree, praying to every entity in creation that the luck stat would actually affect the probability of my idiotic plan working. I slammed one foot onto the trunk of the tree and kicked off with as much force as I could muster, knocking off a chunk of the tree's bark. I flew upwards, directly over where the wolves were that lunged at me and started falling down. I held both of my knives down and pushed my feet together to get the point of impact as small as possible. My feet landed on the head of a wolf and I felt it's skull crack underneath me. The two other wolves both got slashed by my knives, leaving long cuts on their faces. The one I landed on was still on the ground, blood leaking from its mouth slowly. The two I cut ran at me again while the two who were stalking me continued to circle. I dodged one of the wounded wolves and slammed my knife into the chest of another when I felt a massive amount of pain erupt from my back. One of the wolves that was circling me had taken the opportunity to sink it's claws into my back.

-60 HP

Health 130/190

I gritted my teeth and twisted the knife inside of the wolf in front of me and ripped it out. I flung myself backwards, slamming the wolf on my back into a tree causing it to whimper in pain, then cry out in agony as I slammed my second knife into its side making it let go of my back. I whipped around and slashed its throat open with my other knife, slowly turning to the remaining wolf who growled at me and slowly started backing away. Before the final one could run away I threw both knives at it, catching it in its leg and shoulder. It collapsed, whining in pain. I walked over to it, blood staining my clothes. I pulled out the knife from its leg and stared it in the eye. The will to fight was gone, it had accepted its fate. The knife was plunged into its skull and the light slowly faded from its eye. I collapsed shortly after, as my health bar ticked down from blood loss. I crawled into some bushes and laid down, deciding to wait for the injury to heal before I continued my journey.

AN: Hope you guys enjoyed this one. Percy will most likely be inside the dungeon for a few more chapters. Maybe up until chapter 8 or so. I plan for a lot to happen during that time so I hope you look forward to it!
