Seventh year was shaping up to be quite bothersome, to say the least. Most would think Blaise simply overlooked or ignored a lot of what went on at Hogwarts, but they all mistook his subtle but acute observations as this, which was just fine by him. It kept his cover quite well, and he took great advantage of it to help those who needed it.
Normally he wouldn't care much about anyone outside of his limited social and trustworthy circles, but when the Death Eaters took control of the school and started grossly abusing their authority on the students and issuing punishments to all houses was when Blaise drew his personal line.
He knew that Dumbledore's Army was revived this year, and he took quiet measures to escort the crying children to their doorstep where he knew they'd be looked after regardless of what house they were in. No one deserved to be treated with such harsh punishments.
The older students simply endured and kept their heads down through it all, helping those whenever they could without risking their own wellbeing. Blaise didn't care if he was credited or not with his silent aid, he never personally signed up for such a dreadful legacy Voldemort claimed promise of global reform.
He followed his own path and kept to himself when it came to politics. Both sides were always messy and unorganized, never taking the people they were supposed to represent seriously at all, but he was not going to overlook such tyranny overrunning the world he was a part of. It went against his species morals, and he was going to help put a stop to it in any way he could.
