Hello again! So I am taking my one shot 'No Words' and kind of revamping it. It will be set the morning after 'My little Rose' ended, just as kind of a filler about how Woody felt after Bo got sold. Still inspired by those two Deviant pieces, most of the time by Lily Fox and We don't need words by Lei Sam. Both touching images! Enjoy!*
After she left
Sunshine poured in through the slats of Molly's closet, hitting Woody's face. He opened his eyes and moved slowly when he felt strong arms wrapped around him. Looking down, he smiled at the sight of his little girl sleeping, holding onto him, never wanting to let go. He bent down and kissed her lightly on her forehead and then shimmied out of her grasp. Walking over to the corner of the closet, he slid down the wall and sat with his knees close to his chest. How was he supposed to go on without Bo? They had been together since the beginning, it was always Woody and Bo, Bo and Woody, meant to be, and now she was gone. He looked down at the ring on his finger.
"It's not fair. Woody said out loud. We finally got married, promised each other forever, and in an instance, you've been given away. It's not fair, Bo. We have a daughter now. Our forever would've been wonderful, the three of us, together with our friends. We could've watched Rose grow up and now..." He sighed. "What do I do, Bo? I've never been a dad, and now I'm a single dad. How do I do this? How do I know I'll be able to take care of the gang and our little girl? I wish you were here to tell me I can do this." He sighed again and spread his arms out. His one hand grazed something under one of Molly's socks. Pulling it out, he saw that it was the box that he gave Bo the night of their wedding. Lifting the lid, he saw her small necklace lying inside. "She left this? Why?" He saw a note under the necklace. Picking it up, he read it. It was in Bo's handwriting.
Before you freak out, I didn't leave this behind because I didn't like it. I love the necklace almost as much as I love you and Rosetta. Yet you and I both know that Molly wasn't going to hold onto me for much longer, Woody. It pains me to say this, but I knew that I was going to be sold eventually. Which is why I decided to leave my necklace. I want you to give it to Rosetta when the time is right. I want her to have something of mine to remember me by. I'm sorry to leave you two so soon after we had finally started to become a family. I know we will see each other again, but until then, I know you'll do just fine raising our little girl. Though we've only been parents for a short while, you have been the best dad in the world. I know you'll do right by her and take care of her just as you have been taking care of our little family all these years. I love you both so much. Until we meet again, all my love, Bo Peep.
"Thank you, Bo." Woody said. Then he clutched the necklace in his hands and held it to his chest, letting the tears fall. The next few days passed by as normal, but Woody continued to grieve. Buzz took over as leader and took turns with Jessie and Slinky to check on him throughout the day. One afternoon, while Andy was at camp, Woody sat by the window with his hat lying beside him. His attention was on the blue sky and clouds outside, so he didn't hear Slinky come up on the desk. The dog tapped his shoulder. The two shared a look, but Woody turned his head back out the window. Slinky held his head high, shifted his back end to sit, and lay his head on Woody's lap. The cowboy was stunned at first, but a smile formed on his lips and he scratched Slinky behind the ears. They sat there until Andy got home, never saying a word.
A year passed and one day in the late afternoon, Woody was at the window again, this time with Rosetta sitting in between his legs. Woody had his hat off and was holding Rose's tiny hands in his. They had just had a moment of reflection to remember Bo, as today was the anniversary of when she left. Woody had thought about giving her the necklace, but knew it was still too soon. The day would come to give it to her. For now, he would just hold her and never let go. Woody felt a tab on his shoulder and turned to see Jessie without her hat. She smiled at Rose and then wrapped one arm around Woody and took one of Rose's hands in hers. The three then heard someone else coming over and saw Buzz standing a few inches away. He gave them all a small smile. Woody smiled at him, as did Rosetta. Jessie shifted to Woody's other side, placing her arm around him and Rosetta. Then Buzz went to where Jessie was before and placed his arm around Woody. Rosetta turned around and hugged her father. Woody, Jessie, and Buzz all held her close in one big bear hug, their hands resting on top of her tiny one. One small family grieving together and no words spoken. There was no need for them.
*yes, i brought up the necklace just in case you guys wanted to know how and why Bo gave it back to Woody. Still heartbreaking. Next short will be a classic one!*
**Childhood girl, some answers for you: of course I can add in a short about Jessie and Buzz's wedding. That will be mixed in with the shorts. With the idea with all the holidays, if you recall in 'my little Rose, the first Christmas Rose shared with Woody and Bo in Andy's house was when Woody and Bo got married. That was their first Christmas together. I can do the first Christmas and New Year's Woody and Rosetta spent without Bo, but I feel too many holidays would be too much. I would love to do a past story about Rosetta. Nice Idea! I've seen Tinkerbell. Love that movie, but that wasn't where I got the name from. Randomly selected it. I have seen bits and pieces of a Dog's way home. I will consider this idea. Work is getting kind of busy, so I will say maybe for now, okay? Of course I can add in Wheezy and how he got to Joey and Isabella's! Yes, I can most definitely add in Bo's first playtime with Bonnie.**
