Troublesome Siblings

Scorpius and Albus had barely set foot back on the grounds of the Burrow after a nice practice game of Quidditch and speed lap tests before chaos ensued. James was standing outside the shed where they were headed to store the brooms back, arms crossed and a hard glint in his eye. Scorpius stopped in his tracks, already not liking what was about to happen.

"I can't believe you!" James shouted at his brother, throwing a hand out in front of him aggressively. "I told you to not use my broom!"

Albus stepped forward then, puffing out his chest, holding the broom mockingly in hand beside him. "Asking and telling are two different things."

Scoripus hung back, watching the bickering from a safe few paces away. James had snatched the broom from Albus then, lunging him forward slightly from the force. He inspected it carefully, and must've found something that he clearly was not happy to see.

"You've gone and scuffed the lacquer! Ugh!" James snapped, giving Albus a hard push back. "Can't leave well enough alone, can you?"

"That scuff was already there!" Albus argued back, pointing an accusing finger at him. "If you weren't so reckless with your brooms Dad wouldn't have to buy you one every six months."

As if to prove Albus right, James tossed the broom to the ground and pounced on his brother almost immediately afterward. Scorpius' eyes widened as he watched the two roll around in the dirt, inaudible yells and grunts coming from them. He startled when a loud yelp echoed off the shed, and James quickly detangled himself from Albus and ran to the house holding his arm.

"Muuuum! Albus bit me!"

Albus got up, smirking triumphantly as he brushed himself off. Scorpius just stared at him, feeling awkward and bewildered all at the same time.

"You bit your brother over a broom?" he choked out. "You're insane!"

Albus' smirk only broadened. "It runs in the family. You should see my sis, she bites for nothing and everything. Kind of a phase... " He gave a shrug. "Besides, he's bit me for less."

Scorpius' jaw dropped slightly, only recovering when Albus scooped up the abandoned broom from the ground and signaled for him to follow. He had an overwhelming feeling of being glad he was an only child, even if it meant feeling a little lonely at times.

"Well, I do not envy you."
