"Actually, I think I might just go to bed, nevermind." Oh, I hope I didn't make him uncomfortable. "Thank you though, see you later." George waves goodbye, heading up to my– our– room.
It'll all be fine, they're both just exhausted from traveling. Tomorrow will be better.
Dream's P.O.V.
I wake up slowly, shuffling a little underneath the sheets. It feels warmer than usual, which is slightly confusing, but I'm too sleepy to figure out the cause.
Well, until I feel pressure against my shoulder, small hands grabbing my bicep. I open my eyes, staring at a still-asleep George cuddling into my side. His body is curled up, both his hands wrapped around my arm with a loose grip.
I just stare at him for a minute, completely mesmerized. His hair was tousled and messy, his expression calm and peaceful. Honestly, he looked like an angel.
But I really needed to get up, I couldn't sit here and watch George sleep all morning. That's weird and creepy.
Carefully, I unwrap myself from George, trying to sneak away. I'm almost all the way out of bed when George stirs in his sleep.
"Mhm... Dream?" He mumbles, curling his hands into fists. I freeze, watching him grip onto the ruffled blanket and pull it into his chest. He doesn't seem to be awake, so I leave the room as quietly as possible.
I head to the kitchen, seeing Sapnap sitting at the counter on his phone. He glances up when I walk in, giving me a nod of acknowledgment.
"Hey Sap, you're up early," I comment, bending down to grab a pan.
"Well, I did sleep for most of the day yesterday," he retorted, sighing.
"True. Want some eggs and bacon?"
"Duh!"
I'm almost finished cooking breakfast when George comes downstairs, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
Ooh, bacon.
"Hey George, good morning!" I greet, watching him eye the bacon sizzling in the pan.
"Mornin'," he responded, voice rough with sleep. "Is that bacon?" He asks, although he already knows the answer. I let out a soft chuckle, getting out a plate and putting the bacon on it.
"Yep. Here you go, share with Sapnap." I hand him the bacon plate, watching as a pretty smile spread across his features.
"Give me some of that!" Sapnap reached out for the bacon, George holding it just barely out of his reach. He teased Sap for a minute before I took the plate back, eating some of the bacon myself.
"Hey!" George exclaimed.
He's so tall.
"If you two are going to fight over it, then I get the bacon," I shrug, grinning. George and Sapnap look unamused. "Oh my god, just take some. Here."
"Much better," Sapnap nods, him and George both munching on their bacon.
"So, what do you want to do today? I figured we could go somewhere, if you guys are feeling up to it," I suggest. George nods slowly, chewing on his third piece of bacon thoughtfully.
"Ooh!" Sapnap jumps up, slamming his hands on the counter excitedly. "We could go to the beach!" I look at Sapnap, blinking slowly.
"Sapnap, it's the middle of winter."
"So? It's Florida, it's not like it's super cold or anything!" He retorts.
"Yeah, but it's not warm enough to go to the beach," I argue back. "We can't go swimming this time of year anyway." George is quiet, listening to our disagreement.
I'd like to go roller skating... I haven't gone in years.
I hear George's thoughts, liking his idea. I'll suggest it, maybe in a more... subtle way? So George doesn't get suspicious?
"Why don't we do something indoors? There's a roller rink not too far from here, I used to go all the time as a kid," I mention, glancing at George to see a slightly surprised expression. "It'll be fun!"
"Roller skating is dumb, why don't we go to an arcade or something?" Sapnap suggested.
"I like Dream's idea," George spoke up. Sapnap groaned, and I smiled.
"Sapnap's outvoted! Roller skating it is!"
We arrived at the roller rink, stepping into the large, warehouse-like building. The familiar smell of rubber, feet, and fast food hit my nose all at once, and it felt like I had unlocked a piece of my childhood.
I paid for our admission and skate rental while Sapnap wandered around the place. George stayed with me, looking around with a glint of excitement in his eye.
I haven't skated in so long, I hope I don't make a fool of myself.
I hummed a soft tune as I was handed the tickets for skate rental, thanking the employee quickly before leading George to the counter.
"So, George..." I look over at him, smiling. "...you know how to skate?"
"Uhm... sort of," he shrugs. "I haven't been in years, so I don't know how good I'll be," he answers truthfully.
"Well, if you need any help, I'll be there," I offer. George's lips spread into a genuine smile as he thanked me.
"Hey guys, whatcha waiting for?" Sapnap asked, rejoining our little trio.
"Skates." I point to the wall of skates behind the counter while Sapnap nods, understanding.
"Cool."
The three of us get our skates, heading over to a table. Sapnap pulls his shoes off first, eagerly pulling on his pair of skates.
Sapnap's feet smell.
"So... Sap, you've skated before?" I ask, watching out of the corner of my eye as George's nose twitches.
"Nope!" Sapnap exclaims, shrugging. "How hard could it be?" To prove his point, he stands up... and promptly falls on his ass. George bursts into laughter while I wheeze, Sapnap glaring at us both.
"HoW hARd cOuLd iT bE?" George mocks, teasing Sapnap. The younger boy scoffs, flipping George and I off as he drags himself back onto his feet.
"Shut the fuck up, you're probably just as bad," Sap insists. George rolls his eyes, a few stray giggles pushing past his lips. He tightens his skate laces, and slowly stands up– staying (mostly) upright.
"Ha!" George exclaims, prideful. He happily pushes his skate against the ground... and falls forward, catching himself with his arms before his head hits the ground.
"SEE? YOU SUCK, YOU'RE ACTUALLY DOGWATER!" Sapnap yells, catching the attention of several people nearby. I shush him quickly, chuckling as I offer a hand to George, helping him up.
"You're both idiots," I comment, rolling my eyes. "Now c'mon, let's go skate."
I had done a few laps around the rink, but Sapnap and George were still stuck against the wall, dragging themselves around slowly. George was further behind Sapnap, partially because he was the last to get on the rink and partially because he was struggling to actually move himself forward.
"Hey George," I greet, skating up beside him. He looks up at me, frustration painted into his pretty brown eyes. "Need some help?"
Yes.
"I guess..." He mumbled. I grinned, holding both my hands out to him. He hesitated for a moment, then slowly let go of the wall and grabbed my hands.
"See, there you go." I slowly skate backwards, George gripping my hands tight. I pulled him along, offering direction and words of encouragement.
"This is dumb," he mutters, huffing. "I should be able to skate."
I love this.
I smile a little at his thoughts, shaking my head and chuckling in response. George giggled, letting me drag him around the rink. We passed Sapnap, who was reaching along the wall. He stopped to stare at George and I, laughing and holding hands as I led him around the bend and into a straightaway.
"I wish Karl was here," Sapnap exclaimed loudly, trying to hide his smile. I grinned, looking at George, admiring the soft sparkle that his eyes held. We were pretty close– closer than we should be, probably.
Are we about to kiss?
George's thoughts startle me this time, and I stumble, taking George down with me. I land on my back with a "umph", and when I open my eyes again, George is on top of me, looking slightly disoriented.
What just happened?
"Are you okay?" I ask, frowning. He meets my eyes, nodding. His cheeks are slightly flushed as he pushes himself up and to the side, letting me get up.
"You broke my fall. Are you okay?" He questions, still on the floor. I snort, offering him a hand.
"Yeah, I'm good." We're both back on our feet, and I skate us both over to the wall so we aren't in the way. "We should probably go get Sapnap and get out of here soon. It's going to get dark soon," I mention.
Did I do something...?
"Oh... yeah, alright," George agrees. I smile, once again offering him a hand. He accepts it contently, and I lead him around the rink to where Sapnap was waiting.
"Are you lovebirds done?" He asked, sarcasm clear in his voice. Despite his surface-level sass, I could tell Sapnap was in a good mood. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he shuffled toward the exit, denying the hand I offered to help.
"See, I'm better. I didn't need any help to skate," Sap boasted, grinning proudly. I wheezed, while George rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Idiots," he mumbled, shaking his head with a smile. We all changed out of our skates, returning them to the counter before leaving the roller rink. It was still light outside, and by the looks of it, the sun wouldn't set for another few hours. So maybe roller skating didn't last the whole day, but we could do something at home instead.
"I'm glad we left earlier," Sapnap spoke up, kicking at the pavement while I unlock the car. "I was thinking about trying to stream tonight. You guys are welcome to join, if you'd like. Karl and Quackity will be there."
"Thanks, but nah. Have fun with Karl and Q," I tease gently.
"I might join... what's the stream going to be?" George wondered.
"I was thinking like, a CS:GO stream," Sap replied, shrugging. George nodded, biting the inside of his cheek.
Dream's not going... maybe I won't either. Sapnap won't mind, Karl and Quackity will be there.
"Alright, I probably won't join. I might say hi but don't expect me to stay for long if I do."
"Whatever is fine, it's gonna be pretty laidback. If either of you change your mind then just join, I'll call from the feral boys channel," he informed. George and I nodded.
"Sure thing, Sapnap."
