Ninja Storm: Rise of the Eclipse- Chapter 6: Nowhere to Grow
Disclaimer: Saban owns all Power Ranger line. I only own Crystal and Lucy and anything else unrecognizable
It was late at night in the middle of the park. The Blue, Gold and Silver Rangers sat in the front seats of Tori's van, trying to get homework done. Tori had to finish a few papers before she was able to graduate. And the Blue Ranger wanted to graduate. So, she sat in her seat, a large flashlight in her hand while she wrote her paper.
Lucy took the passengers' seat, a notebook in her hand. Her hair was thrown in a bun and there was a pen hanging from her lips. She was finishing the school work that had piled up from her not being in school. She was pulled from her last few weeks of junior year. Both sisters had lied and told the school that they were helping a sick relative in Blue Bay. It sucked.
Crystal sat in the backseat, a pad of paper balanced on her legs. She was flipping through the notes she had for one of her classes on her lap. Glasses hung near the tip of her nose. She pulled the pencil from behind her ear, scribbling notes down on her paper. Leaning over the seat, Crystal started to help Lucy with the problems.
The boys were out of the car. Dustin had Cam's nighttime video camera while Shane was trying out new tricks. Tori looked over at the sisters for a second then leaned out the window. " Can we go now, please?" Tori begged. She leaned out the window. " The three of us have homework to finish and Sensei's going to freak when he finds out that we're out this late." The Blue Ranger tried.
Shane looked at her. " Come on Tori." He threw his hands in the air. " Five more minutes."
Lucy snorted. She leaned out the passengers' side window and looked at the boys. " You do realize that I can turn on you two in a matter of seconds." She hollered over to them. " I can defend myself, Crystal and Tori from Sensei and Cam, but the question is, can you?" Lucy slipped back into the car, bumping fists with her sister. Shane and Dustin thought about it.
Tori turned to Crystal. " How're you two doing?" She asked.
The blonde winced when the flashlight hit her eyes. It was a few weeks after the Thunder Rangers' sudden disappearance. Crystal didn't even seem fazed by them leaving. She continued her training but was pushing harder. " I'm beating myself up over the kidnapping," She answered. " And trying to sleep off the rest of the effects of the gem," Crystal turned back to the papers in her lap.
Lucy nodded in agreement. " I still feel the effects when I'm trying to sleep," She dove right back into her calculus homework.
Tori sighed, looking out of her window. " What's Cam gonna say when he found out you took his night-vision camera," The Blue Ranger yelled at the boys. She lifted her heavy-duty light and returning to her homework.
" Tori, Crystal, Lucy, come on," Shane yelled. He picked up his skateboard. Tori scrambled to put her stuff down. Lucy threw herself out the window and rolled along the ground. Crystal had a little more trouble. She crawled over the seat, landing in Lucy's spot. Shoving open the door, the blonde pushed herself up to the roof of the van, running across it. When she landed, she rolled, catching up to the Rangers. " Dustin!" The Red Ranger yelled at the brunet.
The five took off after the kelzaks. " That'll be great for your video," Dustin mentioned. He ran behind the three with the camera still on. He put the camera way. The five stopped behind the Kelzaks.
" Hey, we heard there was a garden party," Tori smirked.
" Yeah, and we were kind of bummed we weren't invited." Dustin put in.
" You mind if we crash?" Shane asked, smiling like an idiot. The kelzaks turned and started to run away. " Ready?"
" Ready." The three others answered.
Ninja Storm, Ranger Form
Eclipse Storm, Ranger Form.
Power of Air
Power of Water
Power of Earth
Guardian of the Sun
Guardian of the Moon
All five streaked through the kelzaks before they stopped and started to fight them. Lucy blocked one's sword and kicked another in the chest. She blocked a punch and swung at another. She roundhouse kicked her kelzaks in the face then landing on the ground.
Crystal cartwheeled, her rapier in her hand. She landed, kicking a Kelzak and slicing another one. She blocked a swing, flipping that kelzak into others. " Don't they know it's a school night?" She asked, punching a few arms away. She sliced up on a kelzak.
" I don't think they care," Dustin said, roundhouse kicking a kelzak away.
" Let's make this quick," Shane ordered.
Lucy smirked. She did an aerial before landing and backflipping. She landed on the ground and started to block and dodge flying fists and legs before she started to do damage. She kept punching and kicking kelzaks. They flooded her. Crystal rammed into a kelzak, flipping him to the ground. She tugged her sister up to her feet. The two took out a majority of the kelzaks, slicing and hitting them.
After taking down a part of her kelzaks, Lucy watched a few vines wrapped around Shane's leg. It yanked him towards the monster of the night. " Look what I got." A very feminine voice cooed. The monster held Shane.
" Hey, watch the suit bud," Shane ordered. He struggled to get free.
" It's Florabundacus." The monster answered to Shane's unheard question.
" Nice name." Crystal cut in, kicking Florabundacus in the stomach. " Although, your parents didn't like you that much, huh?" She asked. The Gold Ranger punched her in the chest, making her let go of Shane.
" Thanks." Shane rubbed his helmeted head, standing up. Lucy shook her head, meeting her sister. The monster disappeared from the Red Ranger. He kept swinging and she kept disappearing. After three disappearances, Florabundacus shot Shane in the chest.
" Shane!" Dustin called. He squatted near his friend then jumped over him. " Hey." He yelled.
" You okay?" Tori asked. She and Lucy helped him up.
" Hope you don't have allergies," Florabundacus stated then growled. The monster stuck her hands out and released a golden-colored powder at the Rangers. They were all pushed back while their suits sparked. Lucy and Tori sneezed. Crystal sniffed. Dustin groaned and Shane sat up.
" Whoa. This flower's nothing to sneeze at." Shane commented. He held his head.
Lucy lifted her head. She sneezed once more, groaning. " There's snot in my helmet." She complained, yanking her helmet off. She sneezed once more, this time onto the ground.
Crystal turned to her sister, chuckling. " Your allergies," She commented. She sneezed. " Ugh," She pulled her helmet off, sniffling.
" Right back at ya," Lucy laughed nasally.
" Time to make a like a plant and leaf." Florabundacus joked. She sauntered away and disappeared into the night.
" There she goes," Shane called out. The three primary Rangers stood up.
" The seeds!" Dustin yelled.
Lucy sneezed yet again and sniffed. She turned to her sister. Her head tilted to the side, confused. " What seeds?!" She yelled after the Rangers. Crystal pulled her to the feet.
Shane's morpher beeped." Rangers." Cam's voice announced. The three running Rangers stopped. " My father would like a word with you."
" Aw, busted," Shane muttered. Everyone headed back to Ninja Ops with Lucy sneezing the entire way there.
" I can't believe that we got stalked by celery." Dustin groaned. He handed the camera to Cam. The Gold Ranger rolled her eyes, handing her sister a rag to sneeze into. She moved from the table, where Lucy had planted herself, over to Sensei's hut.
" Here's a thought," Cam spoke up, grabbing his camera from the Yellow Ranger. " Maybe you're not getting enough sleep." He suggested.
" I must see those seeds," Sensei ordered. Tori set the two down in front of him. " We will discuss what you were out late on a school night another time."
" I'd hate to be in your skate shoes," Cam muttered to Shane. He looked at his camera.
" Dude, shouldn't you be cleaning some ancient scrolls or something?" Shane shot back. The sisters smothered their smiles.
Tori spoke up. " Since when has Lothor been into gardening?" She asked. Without warning, Sensei pressed on the seed in front of him. A green gas spurted from the seed and Sensei wrinkled his nose. Crystal and Lucy scrunched their noses, moving away. Tori gagged.
" Dude." Dustin turned away.
" Aw, that is some serious stank, man." Shane's hand shot up to his nose.
Tori dropped her hand and smiled. " Smells like Dustin after ninja training." She smiled over at him.
" Hey, yeah, it does, too." Dustin grinned.
Lucy shook her head, wiping her nose. She stood from her spot, walking over to Sensei's hut. " Sensei, what are these?" She asked, pointing to the seed.
" I'm uncertain," Sensei admitted. " I have an acquaintance; Dr. Belrab. He's an expert on exotic plants. In the morning, you must visit him at his botanical laboratory." Sensei ordered.
" Why don't I go?" Cam asked. " This may require someone who actually understands botany."
Shane chuckled. " Dude, just so you know, not a very good pickup line." He patted Cam's shoulder.
" Shane, come on," Tori told him.
" That is enough, all of you," Sensei ordered. " Return home. You must be alert for Tomorrow." Everyone nodded. They headed out of Ninja Ops.
Lucy sighed. She was leaning on the front seat of Tori's van after the blonde put it in the park. The boys were in the front seat so Lucy got pushed to the back. Crystal started working at Storm Chargers a few days after the Thunder incident. She took Dustin's shift to help Kelly with the store.
Shane looked out the window. turning back to everyone. " Hey, was that…?" He trailed off. He looked back and forth between the boy and his team.
" When was the last time you saw Cam leave Ninja Ops?" Dustin asked, looking at Lucy and Tori.
" Should we call Sensei and see what's going on?" Tori asked, worried that Cam went against his father's wishes.
" No, no, not yet." Shane disagreed. " You two go and talk to the plant guy while Lucy and I go make sure that Cam doesn't get into trouble," Shane told the team. Everyone agreed before they hopped out of the car. Shane and Lucy followed Cam north. Tori and Dustin headed inside for information.
Quietly following the boy in green, Shane and Lucy put their ninja training to good use. They kept flipping behind trees to avoid getting caught by the Sensei's son. Lucy stopped short of the river that was near the volcano. Cam was perched on a tree with a string in the water.
" That should be enough," Cam muttered to himself. He pulled the string back up. Attached to the string was a flask that now carried water in it. Cam topped it off and reached behind him to put it in his bag. Standing up, Cam glanced around. Kelzaks appeared out of nowhere. Cam bit his lip while he thought. He sighed, jumping off the tree branches and to the area across the river.
A couple of kelzaks fell into the water. Cam smiled. It fell once he realized that there were kelzaks on the other side of the river.
Lucy sighed. She and Shane, who was currently hanging like Spiderman from the trunk. They watched Cam beat the crap out of the kelzaks. " We have to help," Lucy said, running to the fight. She flipped over the trunk of one tree, kicking a kelzak.
She rolled on the ground to avoid a knife from a kelzak. She sent her foot in the air, kicking a kelzak into a tree. She pushed off onto her hands, sending her feet to the ground. She rolled upwards, watching the blades swing above her. She stood up and threw a punch and a kick. She threw her leg forward and did a back handspring. Her foot landed on a kelzak's chest.
" What are you two doing here?" Cam asked.
Lucy crouched to the ground. Shane was pressed near the boy in green. " Hey, good question, you first." Lucy shot back. She pushed off and tackled a kelzak, rolling over and pushing herself up. She high kicked another in the chest and punched a kelzak in the back.
" They're after the water." Cam realized. " We have to stop them." He chased after kelzak that held a metal water container in his hands.
After dealing with all the kelzaks, Shane sighed, walking towards the computer nerd. " Hey, what was that all about?" He asked, motioning to the kelzaks on the ground. " Where did you learn how to fight like that?" He asked once more.
" I grew up in Ninja school." Cam snapped. " Do the math."
Lucy joined in on the conversation. " Hey, we're just concerned." She gave him a half-hearted smile.
" I didn't know you had it in you." Shane slapped Cam's shoulder.
Cam sighed. " There's a lot you don't know about me." He shook his head.
" Yeah, and whose fault is that?" Shane retorted.
Cam looked down at the ground. He turned back to the two Rangers. " I got to get this sample back." He pointed to his pack. He started to walk away.
" What are you going to tell your dad?" Lucy suddenly asked, her hands finding her pockets.
Cam stopped his step. " Don't worry about my father." He replied. " I'll handle him."
" Oh, nobody 'handles' Sensei," Shane responded. " You should know that better than anybody." Cam turned and walked away. " Hey, he cares about you," The Red Ranger told him. " He doesn't want you getting hurt."
" Well, as you two can see, he's got nothing to worry about." Cam held his hands out. He pulled his sleeves down, walking away from the Red and Silver Rangers.
" Cam for Shane. Cam for Shane." Shane lifted his morpher to his ear. Lucy stopped next to him. They were at Storm Chargers when Shane's morpher started to beep. " The others are in trouble," Cam said.
" On it." Shane nodded. He made eye contact with Crystal, who moved away from the counter. She yelled something to Kelly while running over to them. The three moved to the changing rooms, all pulling the curtains closed to morph.
Ninja Storm, Ranger Form
Eclipse Storm, Ranger Form.
The three Rangers arrived together. They turned to the overgrown plant that was from the botanical laboratories. " Guys!" Shane called out. He noticed his best friends were hanging around, wrapped up in vines.
" Oh, hi guys." Tori waved. The arm that held her sword was wrapped in a vine.
" Any day now," Dustin grumbled. He struggled to get free. Lucy and Crystal nodded to each other. They pulled out their rapiers and ran into the fight.
" Hawk blaster," Shane called on his weapon and started to shoot at the vine that held Tori in place. " That didn't even make a dent." He said, astonished. The vine retaliated by slamming itself down across Shane's chest. He rolled out of the way.
The two sisters started to try and chop the weeds. Crystal slammed her weapon down on the vine. It grew and wrapped around her waist. " I freakin' hate this plant." She muttered. " Lucy." She called. Her sister glanced up; running over and slicing the vine before becoming tangled in it. Crystal was lifted off the ground and hung upside down, dropping her weapon. " Well, this is a predicament," Her arms dangled above her head. " I'd also like to point out that I was the one who said that we would be fighting a plant monster,"
Lucy tilted her helmeted head. " How?" She asked, her right arm held by a vine.
" If I remember correctly, I asked if we were fighting a plant next," Crystal responded. " Right before the Thunders took out the frog," The Gold Ranger felt the blood rush to her head. " Shane, can you get us down, I'm feeling the blood," yelled at the Red Ranger.
Shane pushed a few buttons on his sword, activating the new mode. He spun it around, powering it up. He started to chop down the vines, allowing the other Rangers to fall to the ground. He flew up to the big flower thing and started to chop it.
Both sisters landed with a thud, still wrapped in vines. Pushing up, Crystal noticed that the vines disappeared. She stumbled to her feet and pulled Lucy with her. Walking over, Crystal picked up her rapier and rolled her wrist around. " Thank you," She huffed, replacing her rapier on her back.
" Good job, Shane." Cam congratulated. " Everyone okay there?" He asked.
Shane held his morpher up. " Yeah, we're all good," He answered. " Thanks to you." He added.
Suddenly, Florabundacus ran out of the building. " Why, you…" She stopped where she was and stood straight. " You destroyed my plant! That bums me out." She fell into a stance. The five Rangers followed.
" Let's get this over with," Shane ordered. Everyone followed the monster to an open area. The three Wind Rangers slashed Florabundacus with their swords. She returned the favor. Crystal and Lucy hopped in, blocking her arms with their rapier, kicking her back. She sent a vine out that wrapped around Shane's torso.
" You really get wrapped up in your work, don't you?" Florabundacus taunted. She sent Shane flying into Crystal and Lucy. The girls yelled while avoiding the sword and the flying ninja. The Winds and Eclipse Rangers gathered together. " I'm flora you can't ignora." She commented, sending the same golden power out to the Rangers.
" What in the world?" Crystal asked, swatting her hand in front of her helmet. She yelled out when her suit sparked. She fell to the ground, groaning in pain. Suddenly the three Winds' suits became made out of straw.
" Huh?" Florabundacus looked around. " Whoa, that was freaky." She commented. Then yelling was heard when Dustin swung down on a yellow rope, slashing at Florabundacus. Tori followed suit, swinging from her own blue rope. Shane came in and pushed Florabundacus back with his foot while sipping at her.
" It's a ninja sword and a weed whacker. All in one." Shane stated. He pushed off of Florabundacus. She hit a wall and fell to the ground and the five Rangers stood in front of her.
" Let's put 'em together," Dustin ordered. The Wind Rangers created their specialty weapons together.
" Storm Striker." The three announced together. Tori and Dustin got on the ground to hold the weapon steady while Shane fired when ready.
" Whoa, what a night," Florabundacus muttered. She stumbled to the Rangers.
" Fire!" Shane yelled. He pushed the trigger on the striker. Suddenly a ball, maybe a ton in weight, shot out of the cannon and hit Florabundacus right in the stomach. It sent her to the ground in a fit of sparks and screams.
Florabundacus was 50 feet tall and staring down at the Rangers in a matter of seconds. She giggled. " That's some fertilizer." She laughed. Crystal and Lucy turned their head toward the towering Megazord that appeared.
" This shouldn't take long," Shane commented. " Lighting mode." He called out as a slimmer version of the Megazord appeared. it started to bend and flex as it could move, unlike its bulky formation.
" You don't scare me." Florabundacus started.
" Maybe this will." Shane shot back. " Ramp attack." He ordered. Suddenly the Megazord shot into the air. A ramp appeared in front of it. The blades wrapped around the body of the Megazord. It started to roll down the ramp and it hit Florabundacus, pushing her back. They rolled over her a few times then threw her across the lot. " Power down to battle mode." Both sisters watched the thin Megazord turn back to bulky. "Let's whack this weed once and for all."
" Blizzard Attack." All three ordered. The lion head started to spin, causing Florabundacus to almost freeze over.
" I don't dig the big chill," Florabundacus commented, screaming in pain.
The Megazord popped out a red ball that burst open and Serpent swords appeared. " One to the power of three," Shane commanded. Three Megazord's appeared and Florabundacus knew it was almost over before it started.
" Serpent zord." All three Wind Ranger spoke. " Triple strike." They ordered. Lucy watched the three Megazords slashed down at Florabundacus. The three returned to one Megazord. The plant monster screamed, exploding with a show of lighting.
" That's a wrap." Lucy smiled, tapping gauntlets with her sister.
" Come on, Sensei," Shane spoke up. Everyone had returned from the battle but Sensei was going to punish them for sneaking out late.
" It's not our fault that the boys are dumb," Lucy pointed at the air and earth ninjas. The two turned to the silver ninja.
" We wouldn't have found those seeds if we hadn't been out late." Tori pointed out, ignoring Lucy's pointing.
" I have taken that into consideration," Sensei spoke up. Nonetheless, breaking rules cannot go unnoticed. Everyone, 10-mile jog. Please."
" Lu!" The Silver Ranger turned at the sound of her sister's voice. " Race ya." Crystal smiled. The blonde ran out of Ninja Ops with her sister right behind her. Both were laughing the entire way.
Once reaching the halfway mark, Crystal stopped and looked out at the beach. " You think we'll see the Thunders again?" Lucy asked, walking up to her.
Crystal shrugged. " Let's hope they're nice this time." She muttered. She turned back.
" Amen to that."
