Ninja Storm: Rise of the Eclipse- Chapter 19: Good Will Hunter

"It's quittin' time." Blake clapped. He flipped the open sign to the closed side. "We going riding?" He asked, walking further into the store.
Hunter met him in front of the store, clapping hands together with him. "Can't bro. I gotta meet Charlie."
"Hey, yeah." Blake patted his shoulder. "Your other little brother." They shared a grin.
Dustin walked up to them. "What, there are more of you guys?" He asked, his smile faltering for a quick second.
"Not that kind of brother," Hunter told him, adjusting the rag in his hand. "I know what it's like to be without a father. So, you know, I volunteered to help out after school, you know? Do stuff." He explained.
"Hey!" Shane yelled from outside the store, slamming up against the window. He laughed when he walked in. "Check it out!" He waltzed further into the store. Tori and Crystal met the rest of the group. Hunter wrapped an arm around the shorter blonde. "Big Air's having a contest for the best sports action video."
"Let's see." Tori reached out and snatched the magazine out of his hand. Crystal leaned over to read it over her shoulder. "'The best one-minute video will be played on national television. During the next action games.'" The Blue Ranger smiled.
Everyone seemed impressed. "Oh, sweet." Blake nudged Shane with his elbow.
Dustin took the magazine from the Ranger. "I am so going to win." He studied the page. There was a grin on his face while he read through the page.
Shane cleared his throat. "Uh, don't you mean you are going to come in second?" The Red Ranger asked, scratching behind his ear.
"No, dude, I mean I'm going to win," Dustin repeated. Crystal raised an eyebrow, smirking while staring at Dustin. The rest of the group followed. "Oh, I get it. You're calling me out." He stated. Shane nodded.
Tori coughed. "I don't know how any of you are going to win anything with a camera."
"What about Dustin's?" Shane inquired.
Crystal scratched her temple. "I believe that the yellow bike in the back is from 'Riders Gone Wild'." She recalled. "That episode with Dustin crashing into the tree. The dented yellow helmet, with the camera still taped on, helps,"
"Yeah, but I got a cool shot." Dustin defended himself. "You should see it." He pointed to Shane. "It's all like…" He trailed off. He imitated the video of him crashing into a tree late at night. "Then there's nothing."
Blake broke the silence of the Rangers. "Yeah, so, uh, Cam's got a camera."
"Oh." Shane pointed at Blake, agreeing with him.
Dustin and Shane stared at each other for a minute. "No, no, no, no, no!" Dustin called out, running towards Shane, who was backing up. They starting to wrestle their way out. Tori, who rolled her eyes, followed them out. Blake clapped hand with Hunter and said something to him. Blake took off after them. Crystal kissed Hunter, smiling after pulling away. She turned around and went right back to fixing Dustin's bike.
Lucy breathed in, lifting her leg up in the air. She was doing yoga in the Ninja Ops, happy for the silence that fell between her and Cam. The Green Ranger didn't ask questions when the silver ninja walked in with her yoga mat. She had her earbuds in her ears, listening to soft tempo music. The Silver Ranger yelled out when something crashed into her. It sent her and her assailants to the ground. Lucy twisted her head, finding Shane and Dustin on her. She huffed out, her body squished by the boys. She tapped the ground with one of her fingernails. "Could you get off me?!" She demanded.
"Sorry, Luc." Dustin sheepishly smiled, climbing off the brunette girl. The Yellow and Red Rangers pulled her up from the ground. She brushed off the dirt off the front of her uniform pants. The Green Ranger had moved to stand near the Silver Ranger.
"Cam, can I borrow your camera?" Shane asked, suddenly remembering why they walked into the Ops.
"Dude, I called it in the car," Dustin whined, clasping a hand on Shane's shoulder.
Lucy raised an eyebrow, shaking her head at the antics of her teammates. "You sound like children," She stated, rolling her yoga mat up. She tucked it in the room's corner, away from the ninjas.
"Dustin did, man." Blake backed the Yellow Ranger up. "I heard it." He stated to Cam. "After that, it's all mine." He pointed to himself.
"Get real." Tori scoffed, her hands on her hips.
Cam sighed, sharing a look with Lucy. "Hold it. Just wait a minute." The Rangers stopped moving. "No one is calling anything until I know what's up," Cam explained.
Shane handed Cam a magazine. "Check out page 5." He told the Green Ranger.
Cam smiled, finishing the competition page. "Okay, I'll do it, but I have some conditions." He told the Rangers, who were sitting in front of him like he was a teacher. Cam handed the magazine over to Lucy for her to read. "One: nobody touches my camera but me." He turned to Dustin. "I saw the results of your last outing on ' When Good Riders go Bad.'" Shane chuckled. He hit Dustin on the shoulder. "And two: everyone gets equal time on their videos. I can't stand all this begging." He glanced at Dustin, who had his hand raised. "Dustin." He acknowledged.
"Can I go to the bathroom?"
Cam scoffed. "No way."
"Looks good," Cam commented. He followed Shane through the halfpipe. Lucy tagged along, wanting to see how this would turn out. Then Tori convinced her to get into the water with her and show off surf moves that Lucy had been holding in.
"Come on, already," Tori muttered to Lucy, who was sitting on the fence with her. Both girls were ready to hit the water, but Shane was taking a little longer than expected.
"One more," Cam told Shane. The Red Ranger hit the top of the halfpipe. Shane pushed the skateboard from under him and slid to his knees in the middle of the pipe. "That was great." Cam complimented. "I think I got some good shots."
"Yeah?" Shane asked. "Better than what you got from Blake and Dustin?" He asked. Cam shook his head at Shane. "Okay, gimme one more try, man." He pleaded. "I know I can land the kick fill to front side rail slide."
Tori walked over to him. "Can we go now?" She asked. "Lucy and I have to get in before the swell dies down." She motioned to the Silver Ranger, who was sitting on the fence still. Her gold and silver surfboard was planted in the sand behind her.
"We haven't even been here long, man," Shane argued. "What about equal time?"
Before anyone could speak, everyone's morphers went off. "Saved by the bell," Cam told the group.
"Go for Shane." He held his morpher up to his face.
There was static on the other end. "Kelzaks… in the city…" Cyber Cam spoke.
"Something's wrong with Cyber Cam." Cam clarified. "I'll check it out and call Hunter and Crystal." Everyone nodded. Cam took off.
"We'll take the Kelzaks," Shane ordered. They all took off. Lucy could only hope that Crystal and Hunter will be there when they do.
The sound of pounding feet hitting the pavement ricocheted off the adjacent buildings. The Rangers made their way to the plaza. They all had changed into their ninja garb, wanting to not tear up their street clothes. "Two of 'em." Dustin noticed. All five drew the attention of the two kelzaks. "That's it?" He asked. "I can handle this one by myself."
Lucy tilted her head but didn't follow him. She backed up. Four more kelzaks appeared in front of the previous two. She fell into a stance. More Kelzaks flipped into their view. She looked around the plaza, seeing that more and more kelzaks were filling up space. It made it hard to count how many there were.
"Is it Kelzak migration season or what?" Blake asked. But before they could fight, all the Kelzaks charged towards the stairs. The Rangers ran down, so they didn't get caught in the stampede of kelzaks. The kelzaks rounded all the Rangers into a ring, ready to take them on.
"I don't know about you guys," Shane spoke up. "But I'm feeling a little outnumbered."
"This just keeps getting better," Dustin told Tori and Lucy.
Tori stood up. "I think it's time to morph."
"Word." Shane agreed. "Ready?"
"Ready!"

Everyone split off, taking their own group of kelzaks. Lucy backflipped a few times. She landed on her feet, drawing the kelzaks near her. She pulled her rapier out, hitting a few kelzaks in the chest. She knocked a few more down. They took her down. Slamming into the ground, Lucy groaned. She looked up, seeing more than a few red blades. She sighed, this would not be good.
"What's the deal?" Dustin asked.
"There are so many," Tori added. "I can't even count that high." She exclaimed.
"And you're really good at math," Dustin told her.
Tori placed her hands on her head, shaking it. "Where'd they all come from?"
Lucy kicked one of the kelzaks in the shin, knocking him from the pile. She struggled against them. They overwhelmed her. She hoped that Crystal would burst onto the scene to deal with the henchmen. That hope died down when one Kelzak held his blade above Lucy, again. She squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the impact blow, but it never came. The Silver Ranger opened her eyes to find that all the kelzaks were gone. "Huh?" She asked, scrambling to her feet.
"Guys!" Shane called out. He walked closer to the center of the plaza. Lucy limped over to him, her tailbone throbbing from the pain of landing on her butt.
"I'm worked," Dustin muttered, rubbing his sore butt.
Everyone's visors snapped open. "What's up with that?" Shane pointed to where he was standing. Lucy tilted her head, still not over the pain of the tailbone.
"As long as they're gone, dude, don't ask questions," Dustin told his team leader.
Blake lifted his morpher. "Cam, did you call Hunter?" He sought, then looked around. "Or Crystal?"
"There's been a glitch in the communication system," Cam reported. "I couldn't give Hunter or Crystal the alert. There's something weird going on."
"No lie," Dustin commented.
"So, how's everything with you and Charlie?" Blake asked, leaning on one rack in Storm Chargers.
Hunter shook his head, standing across from him. "He won't even talk to me." He admitted. "I think I'm just going to bag it."
"He lost his dad, Hunter." Blake returned. "Just give him some room. He'll come around."
"I'm trying." Hunter defended.
"He'll let you know when he's ready," Blake assured his older brother. "Just kick it with him until then."
Hunter nodded. He shot Blake a smile. "I thought I was supposed to be the older, wiser one."
"You're still older." Blake shot back. He reached out and smacked his brother on the cheek. "Way older." Hunter laughed. He pushed against his brother.
"Thanks." Hunter nodded. Blake returned the nod.
"I don't know," Tori spoke up after watching part of her video. Cam was standing right beside her. Lucy sat in his chair, her legs folded under her. She pressed her clasped hand to her lips. "Something's missing. It's like I've seen it all before."
Cam frowned. "That's what you look like." He motioned to the video of the two.
Sensei flipped onto the keyboard. "I trust since you are spending time on this project, that the operating system had returned to normal."
"It's all clear, dad," Cam assured his father.
Lucy sighed. "I have this feeling that the judges will want something totally out there and nothing is totally out there but a few seconds." The computer beeped at that moment. The video changed from Lucy and Tori to a monster that was standing at the top of a building. "That's totally out there." The Silver Ranger commented.
"Whoa, better go." Tori patted Lucy on the shoulder. Lucy unfolded her body, climbing out of the chair.
Cam spoke up. "I'll call the others."
"I'm getting rocked in the middle of this music block." The monster spoke up, a thick accent coating his words.
Crystal landed on the ground at the same time that the brothers did. They stopped behind her. It was a drumhead and radio. A boombox sort of monster. "Who is this Radiohead?" She asked, lifting her rapier to her shoulder.
"He thinks he's Johnny Love," Hunter answered.
"Don't touch that dial 'cause DJ Drummond is coming at you with 5,000 watts of p-p-power." The DJ shot lightning bolts at the three Rangers. That knocked them to the ground in a fit of sparks.
Something took DJ Drummond's attention from the three fallen Rangers. "Surprise!" The Winds yelled out, hitting the DJ with their sword. He retaliated by striking them with the same lightning that hit the Thunders and Crystal. Before they all knew it, the DJ was gone is a flash of light.
"Hey, where'd he go?" Dustin got up to his knees.
Tori followed suit. "He just… vanished." She waved her hands around, seeing if he was still there.
"Aw, what's up with that?" Dustin asked, hitting the ground with his hand and his sword. Everyone else climbed to their feet and made their way over to the Winds.
"It's so weird," Tori commented, twisting around.
"Ow," Crystal muttered, rubbing her back. "I'm just glad he isn't here anymore."
Hunter turned his helmeted head to the downed guardian. "You okay?" He extended a hand, yanking the Ranger back to her feet.
Crystal tilted her head from side to side, cracking her neck. "It depends on what hurts. But I'm with Tori, that was weird."
"Well, let me know when you figure it out," Hunter told the group. "I… uh… gotta be somewhere." He pressed a hand onto Dustin's shoulder.
"Ok, later." Dustin waved to Hunter. The Crimson Ranger took off running.
Hunter found himself, after the fight with that DJ, walking over to Charlie's house. He rounded their bush fence to find his mother walking up the driveway. "Hey." He called out, jogging to catch up with her. She turned to meet him. "Hey, is Charlie around?" The crimson ninja asked.
Charlie's mother tilted her head towards their house. "He's playing inside." She answered. "One of those new games… can't tear himself away from it." She rolled her eyes, flipping through the mail in her hand.
Hunter smiled. "Yeah." He agreed. He looked toward the window, seeing Charlie in the window.
Kelzaks surrounded Charlie. "Hunter!" He called out.
"Excuse me," Hunter told Charlie's mother, calmly skirting around her. Once he was clear of her, he dashed towards the door. He walked into Charlie's room and threw his fists up.
"This game is way too real." Charlie told his 'big brother'. He was struggling against the Kelzaks that were holding him.
"Maybe you just need help to get to the next level." The Crimson Ranger answered. Hunter kicked the nearest Kelzak away, punched another, then kicked one more. He grabbed the arm of the oncoming one and hit his underarm, flipping him. He held his hands up once more, kicking the Kelzak in front of him. The Kelzak dodged the kick and threw a punch of its own, but Hunter blocked it. The blond punched his chest a few times, knocking him down.
"That was awesome." Charlie marveled once the Kelzaks disappeared. "You didn't tell me you did martial arts."
"You never asked." Hunter smiled. "Don't tell me there's something that we both like." He joked.
An hour after the Kelzak incident with Charlie, Hunter stood in the kid's backyard. The ninja was teaching the young boy martial arts when the gate creaked open. The boys turned, finding the flaxen-haired girl in gold standing there. She wasn't in her usual jeans, but a pair of shorts. She had a backpack on. Her hair was pulled into a bun. "I was told that there is a young boy waiting to kick butt,"
"Me!" Charlie yelled, throwing a hand in the air.
"No, I don't think so," Crystal trekked over to the two, dropping her backpack on a flower bed. Hunter threw his arm around her waist, planting a kiss on her lips. "Hello to you too,"
"Are you two dating?" Charlie asked, a disgruntled look on his face. Obviously he didn't like PDA.
The blondes glanced at each other. "Yeah, is there a problem?" Crystal asked, one hand around Hunter's waist and the other found her hip.
Charlie fell in a stance. "No, it means I won't go easy on you,"
Crystal backed away from Hunter, falling into her normal fighting stance. "Oh, well, the same could be said about you, young one," She stood, bowing to him. "Shall we begin?"
"How does he manage to win every fight?" Hunter turned his head to see his girlfriend. She sitting on the flowerbed, watching the fake fight between the ninja and Charlie. Currently, Hunter was lying on his back, arms up to defend himself from Charlie's swings.
Crystal shrugged. "Can't tell you that babe, but he's got a mean swing,"
"Guess he takes after his teacher," Hunter cheekily grinned at her. She returned the smile with an eye roll.
In the hours that the three were in the backyard, Charlie learned a blended style of what Crystal and Hunter knew from their teaching. When the two thought he was ready, they started to teach sparring. To give the boy a better example, the two blondes took each other on. The fight ended with Hunter being flipped onto his back with Crystal standing above him. Instantly, Charlie was amazed by the fact that the golden guardian was shorter and still able to take the crimson ninja on.
"All right Charlie, don't break him," Crystal joked. That halted Charlie's attack on Hunter. The young boy turned to see Crystal standing. "Best two out of three?" She suggested. Charlie smiled.
"I think I should pursue a career in cinematography," Cam commented, standing in front of Dustin and Blake, who were watching their video.
Dustin clasped his hand on Cam's shoulder. "I don't know dude." He sighed. "It's just not blowing me away."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Blake spoke up, lifting his hand to the screen. "But check out that power slide." He motioned to himself, sliding past Dustin on the track.
"Well, at least you got one killer shot," Dustin told the Navy Ranger. They watched the gold-clad Crystal kick her engine higher, slipping past Hunter. She took first in the race. "And Crystal looks good in every shot," he sighed, watching more of the videos. "How is that even possible?"
"I honestly don't know, but I would like to know every secret she has about riding," Blake answered him. "Also, it takes more than one shot to make a video,"
"Maybe we should head back out there," Dustin told him. "You up for it, Cam?" He tried to pat Cam's shoulder but ended up slicing through the hologram, scaring both of them.
"Sorry guys." Cam walked up to the two confused Rangers. "I had some actual work to do." He told them. "Now, what were you saying?" He scanned through the computer, a smirk planted on his face.
"So… how d'you tapes turn out?" Shane asked, settling himself around the table with the other sulking ninjas. He threw his tape on the table. "About as good as mine?" He questioned again.
"I think all my best moves are in the first 10 seconds," Tori admitted.
"Mine too." Blake agreed. He threw his tape in the middle of the table with the others. "The rest is just tired."
Cam walked over to the group. "Let me get this straight." He spoke up. "After all the hard work from yours truly, no one's happy?" The Green Ranger asked.
"We're not saying that it's your fault," Dustin answered him. "I mean, we just didn't think it'd be so hard to make a rockin' video."
Sensei landed on the table. "Rangers, this is not unfamiliar territory." He spoke up. "Have you not learned by now the value of working as one?"
"Dad, may I?" Cam asked his father. "Have you guys ever heard the term 'editing'?" Lucy threw her arms up in defeat. Everyone awed, catching on. Suddenly, the computer beeped once again. Everyone rushed to the computer. The screen showed Marah and Kapri arguing over something.
"Now what?" Shane asked.
"They've got Lothor's P.A.M." Tori pointed out. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning, then the DJ appeared once more.
"Whoa, that's freaky," Dustin commented.
"Get the bikes," Cam ordered. "I'll meet you there."
"Where's the beat?" The DJ asked, turning around from where he landed after Blake threw him.
"Right here," Hunter answered. He swung his staff, landing a blow to the DJ. "Thunder Staff, full power." He slammed his staff against the DJ, knocking him back.
"Kelzaks." The DJ ordered, watching the black and red henchmen appear in front of him. Hunter and Blake turned around just as the Winds came riding in, planted on their bikes.
Gold and silver streaks flashed across the ground, knocking the DJ to the ground. Standing opposite to where Cam and the Thunder brother were the Eclipse sisters. Lucy hit first, striking under the drum that was attached to the DJ. She whirled around and slashed at his back. Crystal hit his legs. That took the DJ down to the ground. Crystal rolled to her feet while Lucy backed up.
The two brothers called on their weapons and created their blaster. "Fire!" Hunter called out, pressing the button to release the shot. It hit the DJ in the chest, creating sparks of lightning. The DJ fell to the ground in a fiery explosion.
"That wasn't so hard, now, was it?" Cam asked, shrugging slightly. Crystal chuckled. She replaced her rapier in the sheath on her back. Before they could answer, the DJ grew up.
"Ninja Zords!" Shane called.
Hunter lifted his morpher to his mouth. "Thunder Zords!" Each zord came out, making noise. All the zords combined into their respective Megazord; creating the two Megazords.
"This is DJ Drummond, coming at you live." The Dj spoke, swinging his sword around. So sit back and enjoy the hits." He moved to attack the two Megazords, but the Thunder Megazord blocked the swing. They pushed the Dj away. The Thunder Megazord then got pounded by hits. When another hit looked like it was coming, the Winds stepped in and stopped the attack.
"You guys all right?" Shane questioned.
"Yeah, thanks," Hunter spoke up.
Before they could move, the DJ was already hitting them with bolts of electricity. When they thought it couldn't get any better, the Rangers were wrong. Cam came flying in. "Here you go, Hunter." He said, flying by.
"Thanks, Cam." Hunter lifted the coin from the panel. "Power disk, locked, and dropped." Everyone watched a purple, and gold power sphere popped out of the chest of the Thunder Megazord. It opened up to reveal the Stingray gun. The Thunder Megazord grabbed onto the handle and held it up.
"It's time to turn down the radio." Blake joked, grabbing the eyepiece that was right next to him.
"Right with you little bro." Hunter agreed, reaching for his. They took down the monster by firing a few shots from the Stingray gun.
"Thanks for stopping during your concert!" Lucy waved at the explosion that was the DJ. Everyone laughed.
"Guys, it's on!"
Blake's yell brought the entire team to him. Crystal kicked the tools she had out under the bike she was working on. She grabbed a rag on the way out. She met Lucy and Kelly, who were walking out of the office. The two took seats next to each other. Hunter snagged the seat next to his girlfriend, setting Charlie on the ground in front of him. The rest of the Rangers were scattered around the couch, anticipating the video that won the contest.
The music played as the video popped up. The clips changed. Blake, Dustin, Hunter, and Crystal shredding through the dirt on the track. The video switched to show Crystal kicking her bike around in the air then landing. It changed to Tori and Lucy ripping through the waves. Lucy stood on her hands and flip to the front of her board, turning it around and flipping backward. The clip changed to Shane tearing down the half-pipe, ending in a move he had been trying to land for a while. The video ended with the Red Ranger sticking his tongue out at the camera.
"And once again," The lady on the screen smiled. "That was the winning video from the kids in Blue Bay Harbor."
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered.
"We killed it," Dustin spoke up.
"We have to give Cam some credit," Tori spoke up.
Lucy and Crystal nodded in agreement, patting the Green Ranger on the shoulders. "Couldn't have done it without the genius," Lucy smiled, reaching over and tapping forearms with Crystal.
"But the motocross was the sickest, no?" Blake asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hunter nodded, reaching over the guardians, and fist-pounded his brother. "Yeah."
"Dude?" Shane spoke up, drawing the attention of the four motocross riders. "Did you see the skating?" He leaned over, hitting the gold ninja on the shoulder.
Crystal raised an eyebrow. "Nothing we ain't seen before." She snorted in response, earning a few burn noises from the rest of the team.
Shane scoffed. "Your moves aren't new either, Brewer."
"At least I got moves," Crystal returned. "You ain't got squat, Clark. Everything's basic," She stood from her seat and walked right out of the room. She left a shocked Shane and laughing team behind.
"Hunter, tell your girlfriend she's wrong!" Shane peered over at the Crimson Ranger.
Hunter stopped laughing, trying to catch his breath. "Dude, if I do that, I'm gonna regret it," He replied, continuing to laugh at his teammate. The rest of the Rangers continued to laugh.
