"That's one ugly mutt." Tori stared at the screen where the large three-headed Wolfblade had appeared.
"Man, the leash laws in this town need some serious work," Hunter added. Crystal rolled her eyes, sighing at her boyfriend. Hunter smiled at her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"You guys might want to get out there before it makes the federal building into a chew toy," Cam informed the group.
The Rangers moved to stand in a line. "Ready?" Shane asked.
"Ready,"
Ninja Storm, Ranger Form
Thunder Storm, Ranger Form
Eclipse Storm, Ranger Form
Power of Water… Air… Earth
Power of Thunder
Guardian of the Sun
Guardian of the Moon
The Rangers took off, heading into the Zords. In a flash, the Wind, Thunder, and Eclipse Megazords stood across from the terrible terror of a wolf. The Megazords circled the Wolfblades. They were listening to the snarling that was coming through their comms. "Let's pound this hound," Shane called.
"Right," The Rangers agreed.
The three charged. The Thunder went for swing, but the Wolfblade dodged it. It scraped a claw across the Wind Megazord, sending them back. The Wolfblade turned, blocking a swing from the Thunders and raking a claw across their chest. The Thunders went stumbling.
The Eclipse Megazord tried to wrap its arms around the creature, but the wolf shoved them off. It swung its claws, making the Eclipse hit the ground. The Wolfblade turned, sending lighting toward the Thunder and Wind Megazords. The five Rangers yelled out when sparks flew in their cockpits.
The Wolfblade turned its attention to the downed Eclipse Megazord. It looked around when it couldn't find the large mechanical beast. Instead, the coyote snarled, opening its mouth. It sunk its teeth into the leg of the Wolfblade, making the creature whine. The swan went for the head of the Wolfblade. It flapped and kicked, trying to get the Wolfblade on the ground. The Wolfblade shoved the swan off and kicked the coyote away from it.
"Hunter!" Shane called. "Minizord formation!"
"Good call, Shane," Hunter nodded. "Power disk, locked and dropped,"
Two spheres; gold and silver popped out of both Megazords. They clonked together, popping open and piecing together. "Rangers forming the Thunder Storm Megazord." The Minizord called out. "Wind power, thunder power, unite," In seconds, the two Megazords stood as one. The Eclipse Megazord moved to stand near it. The Wolfblade yowled in response.
"That's right, fleabag!" Shane snapped. "Keep yapping. We got something for you,"
"Flood laser attack." The lion's head, beetle, and dolphin all fired lasers at the Wolfblade, creating sparks. The lightning had taken care of the creature.
"Yeah, boy," Shane turned back to see the Wolfblade standing here. "What?"
Hunter groaned. "No,"
"Impossible," Tori added.
"No way," Blake grumbled.
"Is this happening?" Dustin asked.
"It's very possible," Lucy answered. "The Wolfblade is stronger because it's three creatures, not one,"
"We're going to need a better plan, guys," Crystal hopped in the conversation. "Not saying it wasn't an excellent one, but we need a Plan B,"
The Wolfblade didn't give anyone else a chance to talk. It tackled the Eclipse Megazord to the ground, clawing at it. The Wolfblade turned its attention to the larger of the two Megazords. It took the Thunderstorm Megazord down, rattling everyone. In a flash, the Rangers were back in Ops.
"Okay, listen up everybody," Cam called a few minutes after the Rangers reappeared. "The zords should be back on-line by tomorrow at the latest, but we're going to need reinforcements,"
Shane turned to his team. "Well, I'm open to any suggestion on how we deal with these freaks,"
Crystal crossed her arms over her chest. "I think it's time we crack open that crate and see what brings the elephant of old to life. Or whatever ancient garble the elders thought would work,"
"I'm with Crystal," Cam agreed. "Dad, I think this is a pretty good case of emergency,"
"Say no more, Cam," Sensei agreed. The wall behind Cam lifted. "You have my permission,"
Blake smiled. "We're finally going to see what the big deal is,"
"Anyone want to take bets?" Hunter asked.
"It's gotta be some, like, ancient sword…" Shane bet.
"Or a cool fighting staff!" Blake added.
"What do you two think?" Shane turned to the sisters, who had taken refuge on the table.
Lucy was laying back, an arm covering her eyes while she tried to nap. Crystal glanced up, seeing the Rangers staring at her. "Oh, uh, I don't know." The blonde shrugged, standing. "An old scroll,"
"And how confident are you in your answer?" Hunter questioned, quirking an eyebrow at his girlfriend.
"Confident," The shorter blonde shot back. "No ninja adventure starts with a sword." She pointed at him. "You're on, Bradley,"
"Deal," Hunter smirked back.
Tori turned to the couple. "You two make bets?"
Crystal grinned. "We haven't made a lot. This one and the racing one… where Hunter thought he could beat me."
"That was glorious," Blake turned, pointing at the golden ninja.
Cam pulled a box out of the crate, setting it on the table. All the Rangers moved, following the Green Ranger and the mysterious box. Cam opened it up, finding a scroll inside.
"Great, just what we need…" Tori sighed. "Another ancient scroll,"
Crystal smiled. Hunter dropped his head on her shoulder, knowing that he lost their bet. "See, no great adventure starts with a weapon." She and the rest of the Rangers watched Cam pick up the case, pulling the scroll from the container.
"Hey, um, Cam, I wanted to ask—" Shane started.
"Shh," Cam snapped.
The Red Ranger sighed. "Okay… well, maybe we'll just leave you alone,"
Blake glanced around at the team. "So, what do we do while we wait for the dog pound?"
"Be strong, and stay alert," Sensei advised.
Hunter reached around Tori and Crystal, hitting Blake on the shoulder. "Let's go, dude," He glanced at all the confused faces. "We got something to take care of," He lied, smiling. He leaned over, pressing a kiss to Crystal's temple. The two took off.
"You're kidding, right?" Shane asked.
"Call us if you need us," Blake shouted, disappearing from Ops with his brother.
"We're gonna head out too," Crystal stepped over to her sister, shaking her shoulders. The silver ninja sat up with a start. She rubbed her eye, yawning. The brunette turned to her sister. "Come on," The blonde motioned with her head.
The sisters had reached a quiet place to practice. Crystal pulled out her guitar, tuning the instrument to gain the sound she wanted. She moved around, playing quiet notes to test the guitar. When she had reached the sound she wanted, the blonde turned to her sister.
Lucy's morpher broke the silence. "Seriously?" The brunette groaned, lifting her morpher up to her face. "This better be real good,"
"Crystal, Lucy, we need you to come back to Ops," Cam informed the two. "Sorry to interrupt,"
"No, it's fine." Crystal packed her guitar back up in the case. "We're on our way,"
When the guardians reached Ops, the Rangers were already standing around Cam, who had his hand out. Tori looked at him, skeptical. "Let me get this straight," She stated. "You want what?"
"Your power disks," Cam clarified.
"I know I'm the slow one, but doesn't that mean we have no powers?" Dustin asked.
Cam nodded. "Yes, but only until I return,"
Blake glanced around. "Yeah, I don't know if that's such great idea,"
"Yeah, I kinda like knowing I can kick some space ninja butt…" Hunter agreed. "If I have to,"
"I understand your hesitation, Rangers, but it is the only way," Sensei wheeled over to the group.
Lucy tilted her head. "But how is giving up our disc help us defeat Shimazu?" She asked, startling the surrounding ninjas. "Oh, hello,"
"To defeat his Wolfblades, we must open the portal to the Ancient World," Sensei glanced around. "Your eight power disks are the only entity powerful enough to do that,"
Everyone turned when Cyber Cam came walking out of the back with the scroll. "Yo."
Cam turned back to the Rangers. "Look, if anything happens, Cyber Cam can activate the zords," He informed his team. "You can still operate them. You'll just be in civilian form,"
Shane glanced around at his team. "Okay," He sighed. The Rangers moved, pulling their power discs off their morphers. Each set their disk into Cam's outstretched hand.
"Thanks,"
Shane sighed. "We'll be ready,"
"Well, wish me luck,"
Samurai Storm, Ranger Form
Green Samurai Power
The Rangers stood around Ops. "I've got the coordinates, and I should be in range soon," Cam reported. "Stay on alert, Rangers. Just a few clicks to the portal site." There was a glowing light in front of Cam. The light shifted into the monstrous three-headed Wolfblade. It knocked Cam out of the sky. "I'm down! I'm down!"
"Cam!" Shane yelled.
Tori glanced between the screen and Shane. "We have to help him."
"Uh, hello?" Cyber Cam spoke up from the chair. "Anyone noticed the three-headed giant dog on the loose,"
Blake moved, trailing his brother. He turned around. "You know, you need an attitude adjustment," He ran off. Crystal, Shane, and Hunter stopped before the exit.
Cyber Cam shot them a look. "It's not in my programming,"
Crystal rolled her eyes. "Is sending the zords in your programming?"
"Right," Cyber Cam turned around, pressing the buttons to activate the zords.
"Let's go," Hunter told the two Rangers standing near him. They all took off, tailing their team.
"Good luck," Cyber Cam muttered.
The individual zords stopped right beside the giant mutt. The wolves turned, snarling at the zords. "All right, guys, without our powers, we can't take any direct hits," Shane advised.
"Is that supposed to cheer us up?" Tori asked. "Because it's not working,"
"Great, we have to take down Clifford the big mutant dog, and we can't take any hits," Lucy grumbled. "I hate these odds,"
"Be careful," Shane added.
"How about we blow this guy away and go home?" Dustin questioned. The lion stepped forward, his mane starting to whirl around. The funnel that the mane created pushed air to the Wolfblade. The blast surprised the Wolfblade.
The dolphin swung around. "Over here, in the flying fish," Tori rammed the nose of her dolphin into the Wolfblade.
The two insects drifted towards each other. "Yo, what up dogs?" Blake smiled. "Meet the beetles,"
"How long have you been sitting on that joke?" Lucy questioned.
"Shut up, Lucy," Blake returned, pulling his eyepiece to him. Hunter laughed, following his lead. The two thunder zords fired shots at the Wolfblades.
"Don't tell my sister to shut up, Blake," Crystal returned.
The swan and hawk swooped it. "Haven't you heard, bird's the word," Shane joked, firing lasers from the hawk. Crystal maneuvered her zord, head butting the Wolfblade in the butt.
The coyote snarled, moving in front of the Rangers. "My bites worse than my bark," Lucy snapped. The zord jumped, clamping its jaw around the arm of the Wolfblade.
Cam stopped running in the middle of the forest. He breathed, scanning the surrounding area. "Okay, it's gotta be around here. Portal Coordinates online." He swiveled his head, scanning the area with the coordinates in his helmet. His helmet beeped, signaling that it had found the portal. "There it is, yes," He moved closer, allowing the portal to open.
What he found on the other side was a cave, similar to the Cavern of Lost Souls, but brighter. There was an enormous door and to the right, a keypad. "I found it, just like the scroll said." He moved closer to the keypad, pushing a button to make it turn on. "Now, let's see…" He pulled the power discs out, spotting the eight little circles.
Six disk slots were carved into a circle. Red at the top with Blue and Yellow on either side. Crimson and Navy were after with Green across from Red. Gold and Silver sat in the middle. "Red… Yellow… Blue… Navy… Crimson… Green… Silver… Gold." He listed off, putting them in their respective spots. "Inner portal activated."
He turned when the gates opened. Sitting in the middle was a small guitar. "That is awesome," Cam commented. He reached over, plucking it from the stand. "Now, we'll see who's got a hidden talent," He pulled the tuning piece of the guitar out, replacing it with his saber. "Let's just hope all the stories about the thing are for real! Strike mode, engaged. Power disc, lock, and load," He played a rift, letting the music carry.
Back at the battle site, the Rangers weren't doing so well. Blake's bug ended up rolling a few times, then ended up the right way. The Wolfblade pushed the hawk and sawn out of the air. He shoved the lion back. "Cyber Cam, any word from your twin yet?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah, because we're getting hammered out here," Blake added.
"Nothing yet." Cyber Cam reported. "Just hold those mutts off as long as you can,"
"My poor bird," Crystal winced, listening to the sound of claws hit the belly of the swan.
"Hurry, Cam, hurry," Tori cried out. Her dolphin spun out of control.
Cam appeared on a building rooftop, a guitar in hand. "Guys! Check it out!" He played different riffs, rocking out.
"Who knew?" Shane chuckled.
"He should totally try out for 'Totally Talented'," Dustin chortled.
Tori sighed. "Not now, Dustin,"
"I'm calling it the Lightning Rift Blaster," Cam informed the group.
Blake laughed. "You couldn't come up with a better name?"
"Actions speak louder than words, Blake." Cam tossed his power disc in the air, catching it. "Check it out. I can use it to summon the mighty Mammothzord," He jumped in the air, slamming down on the strings of the blaster.
All the Rangers turned, seeing buildings fall. In their place was a mammoth looking Zord. "Well, why didn't he just say so?" Hunter laughed, seeing the zord. The Mammothzord started rolling through the city.
"Ho, awesome," Dustin smiled. The mammoth trumpeted.
"I'm sending you back your power discs," Cam called.
"Power disc. Lock and load," Shane joked.
Ninja Storm, Ranger Form
Thunder Storm, Ranger Form
Eclipse Storm, Ranger Form
Ninja Ranger Power
Guardian of the Sun
Guardian of the Moon
Once the Rangers morphed, they formed the Thunderstorm Megazord and the Eclipse Megazord. "Check it out!" Cam called. "You're going to the pound, Wolf-man. Power spheres, release." The mammoth trumpeted again, but spit out four power spheres when it did. "Serpent Sword, Ram hammer, turtle mace,"
The Thunderstorm Megazord grabbed the two. The Wolfblade charged, jumping over the Megazords. The Thunderstorm pushed up, sending the sword and the mace into the stomach of the Wolfblade. When the mutt landed, it charged again. The Thunderstorm swung down then around, sending the creature to the ground.
"Combine with the Mammothzord. The power should be enough to defeat the Wolfblades," Cam called.
"Where are the sisters?" Tori looked around. She found them standing beside Cam.
"The Eclipse Megazord doesn't fit in the Mammothzord," Lucy explained.
"All right," Shane sighed. "Initiating sequence." The Thunderstorm jumped onto the back of the Mammothzord. The Wolfblade howled. "Mammothzord, engage weapons," The Red Ranger commanded. "Sphere attack,"
The Thunderstorm hit the back of the Mammothzord, sending out power spheres. They overtook the Wolfblade, bouncing and hitting it. "Ninja Ranger power," The eight called out. The lion laser and lasers from the Mammothzord hit the Wolfblade. The Wolfblade fell to the ground in a fit of sparks and an explosion.
"Yeah!" The sisters tapped gauntlets.
"Now that's what I call bowling a perfect game," Cam joked.
The five Rangers were gathered in a circle, waiting for the show to start. All of them were around, talking to various contestants that were waiting for their time. Tori lifted her head, spotting a ninja wearing a cowboy hat. "Hey, you made it," She called to Cam.
Blake narrowed his eyes. "Are we sure it's not Cyber Cam?"
Cam lifted his head. "It's the real me," He stated.
Hunter turned his attention to the guitar that Cam had strapped to him. "That thing isn't going to summon any ancient mammoth robots or anything, is it?"
Cam lifted the guitar in his hands. "It might," He stated. "I've been known to rock a few worlds,"
Shane rubbed his chin. "Ooh, big words, little man," He crossed his arms over this chest. "But, don't feel back when you come in…" Shane pressed two fingers to his mouth. "Second,"
"Or third or fourth or even fifth," Dustin added.
"We're on," Shane pushed the group.
Stu Starmaker introduced the show, explaining the rules of the contest. He called Tori on stage, who wowed the crowd with her dance. When she was done, Shane took the stage, singing for everyone. Dustin stepped up after Shane, his fingers dancing across the keys of the saxophone. Cam trailed Dustin, rocking all the worlds he said he could with his guitar. Hunter and Blake took up the end of the group; Hunter rapping while Blake worked at the DJ station. Once the two were done, they took their seats behind the rest of the Rangers.
The Rangers started joking around with each other until Shane's eyes landed on the familiar brunette and blonde sister duo. He motioned to the other Rangers, turning back to see Lucy sitting on a stool. There was a microphone in front of her. Her ashy brown hair was braided back into two buns on the crown of her head. Crystal was sitting across from her, a guitar wrapped in her arms. Dirty blonde hair was pulled into two braids.
After the commercial break, Stu stepped in front of the two, smiling at the camera. He introduced the two, stepping to the side for the camera.
"Give me a second I, I need to get my story straight. My friends are in the bathroom, getting higher than the Empire State." Lucy sang, turning her head to see Crystal strumming the chords to the song. The Rangers seemed to stop. The six all sported shocked and surprised looks. They thought that the two weren't competing. The sisters gave no hints that they were performing in this contest. It was very rare that the sisters were showing off anything to the team, let alone everyone.
"So I know that I'm not all that you got. I guess that I, I just through, maybe we could find a way to fall apart," Lucy's voice jolted the Rangers out of their thoughts. She glanced at the six Rangers, smiling when she registered their utterly confused looks.
"Did you know your girlfriend could play?" Blake leaned over to Hunter but didn't look at the Crimson Ranger. When he did, he chuckled. Hunter wasn't focused on anything other than the blonde with the guitar.
When the song was over, the two stood up, bowing to the audience while everyone clapped. They tailed each other off stage, Lucy leading her sister to their friends in the stands. "Why did you two never tell us you guys do that?" Tori asked. She was sitting in the front row with Shane. Crystal moved to stand near Hunter, who pulled her to him, kissing her.
"You never asked," Lucy answered. She sat next to Tori, on the ground.
"I did," Blake motioned to himself.
"Hey, it's called hidden talent," Crystal leaned in front of Hunter to see his brother. Blake made a face at the ninja, which she returned.
"Now, for our last act from… " Stu glanced down at his card. "Well, all it says is far, far away — S.N.A. — Space Ninjas with Attitude!"
Kapri and Marah appeared on the stage, singing, and dancing. "Oh, listen to me, baby. Oh, baby, don't you know I'm an interstellar ninja from an evil UFO? Let's get this party started. I wanna be your girl. Oh, don't you know our love could be out of this whole wide world? I wanna be your space girl, yeah, in your face girl, yeah, oh, oh. Without a trace, girl, ace, girl. I wanna be your space girl, yeah, in your face, girl. Why don't you come on over to another galaxy?"
The two sounded fantastic, and they danced well, which is what made the ninjas raise eyebrows. "There is something wrong here," Lucy whispered to Tori. Crystal and Hunter shared a look, watching the two.
Stu ran up behind them. "Well, folks, I don't think there's any doubt about it," He smiled. "Our winners are S.N.A. — Space Ninjas with Attitude,"
Shane readjusted in his seat. "No way,"
"Dude, they were pretty good," Dustin stated. All the Rangers turned to him.
"They go on to win a trip to Hollywood and future stardom," Stu spoke. But all Crystal and Lucy were paying attention to were the poses that the two were making around Stu. "So, let's give them a big round of applause,"
"Okay, there is something wrong with this picture," Shane spoke up.
"Really wrong," Tori reiterated. She twisted her head. "And I think I know why," She moved away from the chair, gaining confusion from the team. Crystal, spotting the same thing Tori did, moved away from the group. The boys shot confused looks to the backs of the Gold and Blue Rangers.
Tori reached the back first. "I knew it," She lifted an enormous pink CD player up from behind the curtain in the back of the studio. "Do you two want to try that again…?"
Crystal reached over, pressing play. Multiple lines from the song played. She stopped it, a hand on her hip. "Without using the CD player this time?"
Stu moved away from the two. Everyone groaned, finally understanding what was happening. "No, no, no, no," Kapri yelled. "They're our real voices,"
"Yeah," Marah smiled, rubbing her hands together. "With a little enhancement,"
"Yeah, well, if we can win, nobody wins," Kapri snapped, throwing a ball of power at Stu. It caused sparks, covering the man in soot. The two marched off the stage. Everyone stared at the host, waiting to see what he was going to do.
"I am sick of working with amateurs," Stu yelled. "I've done Shakespeare. Where's my agent? I'm outta here!" He walked away.
Tori and Crystal returned to their spots near the Rangers. Dustin leaned over to Cam. "So does this mean nobody wins today?"
"Oh, I don't know, Dustin," Cam replied. "I think we're all winners," Everyone laughed. Hunter pulled Cam's hat off, trying to get to the Green Ranger.
"Get out of here, Cam," Lucy laughed, turning to the genius.
"Boo." Crystal shoved Cam's shoulder, laughing with the rest of the team.
