A/N: I'M BACK! God, I'm so sorry for the hiatus. I've had a lot going on in my life which also caused me to get writer's block for a long time as well caused me to be very busy. I've currently gotten a job where I will be able to write more often without stress and such. I hope this chapter will regain your trust in my updates again XD

The next morning, Sakuya and Kaguya were busy searching through the artifacts in order to find something that could help their dear brother get away from this place that they call home, at least from Gothel's clutches.

Yuya was sitting by the window in his room with a sketch pad in his lap as he drew a portrait of the girl with his goggles on. For the past hour he has been thinking about the one day of freedom he got and the new friendship he got through the girl. He kept thinking about his promise to her the day before and started to wonder if she was hating him now for not coming like he promised. Yuya was about done with his sketch when he heard footsteps closing into his room and he quickly switched the page as Sakuya and Kaguya walked in, only to get very sad over the state of their younger brother.

"Oh, Yuya." They breathed out as they walked over to Yuya to comfort him with Kaguya leaving a small box on the table with the untouched paint supplies.

"We're so sorry we couldn't do anything to help you." Kaguya apologized as Yuya hung his head in defeat.

"It isn't your fault…" Yuya said gloomily. "I'm the one who put myself into this mess."

"But it feels like it is." Sakuya explained sadly at the defeated boy in between her and her sister. "If we had said something or used our magic before you left then we would have been in this punishment together."

"You heard her, there's NOTHING mother doesn't know about what we're doing here." Yuya retarded at the two. "We won't be able to escape from her and be stuck here for the rest of our lives. There's no way for us to be free."

"You shouldn't give up, not yet anyway." Kaguya reassured him but Yuya stood up irritated and away from their embrace.

"Don't you understand?! I'll never be able to leave!" Yuya exclaimed in despair. "I'm trapped in my own room, in a tower with no exit!" Yuya then sat down on his bed, his head in his hands and started to cry. "I couldn't even keep my promise to her…!" The girls looked at each other and knew exactly what he meant, Yuya said he would see her again today but thanks to what happened last night, he won't be able to do it.

"Well…" Sakuya said with a gentle smile as she walked over to him, who looked up for Sakuya to pull Yuya's goggles up back on his head with a smooth motion to show Yuya's eyes from underneath. "We might have-"

"-found something that might help you with that." Kaguya finished as she came to them with the box as well a proud smile which made their younger brother truly confused. "We were in the secret basement to find something that would help you get some freedom at least."

Kaguya then gave the box to the crimson eyed boy, who was really confused as he opened the box to see a paintbrush made with silver or platinum type of metal making the base of the brush. Despite being made out of metal, Yuya held the brush in a delicate way but it was very light.

"A paintbrush?" Yuya questioned the twins.

"Try touching your pendant on it." Sakuya suggested and Yuya did what she said, taking the pendant and just as the tip of the crystal touched the paintbrush, the crystal shone in the familiar light like before. "This paintbrush has the magic ability to paint on any surface without actual paint…"

"And when you paint an object, you can make it become real by taking it out from that surface." Kaguya continued and Yuya raised an eyebrow at the explanation.

"How will it be useful for me to get out of here?" Yuya asked in disbelief before he saw his sisters' expression and the look in their eyes, telling him to try it out. "Okay, fine. I'll try it out."

Yuya got up and looked around his room to find a spot on the walls since he had run out of canvases to paint on as of right now. Eventually, the tomato haired boy found an empty spot next to his closet and took a deep breath before he stroked the brush onto the wall as he thought about something. The end of the brush started to glow and a blue sky appeared that was painted on the wall. Yuya became fascinated over what just happened and looked at the twins excitedly before he continued with using the paintbrush. Soon enough, it became a picture of the town and castle he visited the day before with a frame that fit the theme on the walls. The twins walked up to their brother, who was staring at the magical painting on his wall.

"What do you think?" Sakuya asked.

"I don't know." Yuya answered. "What happens if I step through?"

"You'll be able to go anywhere in this location but you have to concentrate on where you go." Kaguya explained and Yuya's eyes widened in realization. "The paintbrush can only be used by an artistic mind and someone capable of using magic." The younger brother smiled big before hugging both of his sisters.

"Thank you so much!" Yuya exclaimed happily as the girls hugged him back.

"Just go and have some fun with your new friend before mother comes home." Sakuya said caring as they let go and the older sister leaned close to Yuya's ear. "I've placed a spell on the brush so it can hide in your pendant when you don't want it to be seen. That way, you can hide it from Mother." Yuya nodded as an answer.

"I'll be leaving now." Yuya said with a smile.

"Take care and have fun!" The twins said simultaneously before Yuya turned to the enchanted painting, bringing up every bit of courage he had as he stepped forwards the painting, walking through it as the identical sisters watched him disappear.

When Yuya opened his eyes, which he somehow closed when going into the painting, he couldn't believe his eyes. Yuya was in the royal garden in front of the castle where he and the girl last were together before he ran back home. The crimson eyed boy stared at the magic brush in his hand.

"It… it worked…" Yuya breathed out as he used a small portion of his magic to hide the brush into his pendulum for safekeeping.

"There you are." Yuya turned around to see the pink haired girl walking towards him. "I've been looking for you all morning."

"I just came here, actually." Yuya replied nervously and chuckled a little.

"I never caught your name yesterday." The girl pointed out. "My name is-!"

"Don't tell me your name!" Yuya yelled suddenly, cutting her off and the girl became very confused over his reaction. "It's best if I don't know since my mother doesn't know that I snuck out. I'm Yuya, by the way."

"I don't know what's wrong with you but if it is family related, you don't have to tell me." The girl replied as she slowly figured out why Yuya did what he did.

"Thank you." Yuya thanked the girl as she started to walk forwards to the castle.

Back at the mansion, Sakuya and Kaguya were sitting in Yuya's room for the time being. Sakuya was sitting on the bed, reading a special book with a tray and three multi sided dice laying next to her while Kaguya was examining the enchanted painting on the wall curiously. Even though they knew how the paintbrush worked, it was incredible to see that a normal painting could become so much more than to the naked eye.

"You think he's there?" Kaguya asked in wonder.

"Yes, he's there." Sakuya answered with a slight giggle. "I did a divination just a few seconds ago and he's quite enjoying himself with his new friend."

"Oh." The twin breathed out as she walked over to her identical sister. "At least he can chat with his friend when Mother is gone…" Kaguya trailed off suddenly, worrying her sister.

"What's wrong, Kaguya?"

"It's just… didn't Mother say something about she'll be back sooner than usual?"

"What do you… oh, no!" Sakuya gasped when she realized it. Gothel had told them that she would return in a few hours by the time she left but come home sooner than they were used to so she could question Yuya some more about the girl he talked to. "Use your crystal ball! We need to know where she is." Kaguya quickly took out her crystal ball from her shoulder bag and used her magic to search for Gothel, seeing the woman riding her horse at fast speed through the dark forest.

"This isn't looking good!" The younger twin exclaimed in panic. "She's on her way here right now. If she discovers that Yuya's gone, we all will be in trouble!"

"I'll take care of Mother, you get Yuya back home."

"But I don't know where he is, he could be anywhere in that place right now. Besides, Yuya listens to you more than me."

"Kaguya. You're better at flying than me and I'm better at talking to Mother. You need to warn him before something worse happens, he will listen to you." Kaguya took a deep breath as she nodded.

"Okay, I'll do it."

The younger twin quickly mustered up her courage and stepped closer to the painting before walking through it, thinking about going to Yuya. Sakuya watched her sister disappear before running towards the entrance to try to distract their caretaker long enough for Yuya to get back unnoticed.

Meanwhile, Yuya was having a great time together with his friend. The two were walking around the castle courtyard as she talked about different subjects and getting to know each other slightly, what Yuya found most interesting was her explaining what the Divided Lands was like and her actually living there with her family as well being a duelist herself.

"Really?! You're a duelist, too?!" Yuya asked in surprise and excitement.

"Yeah, and I'm going to participate in the annual Dueling Tournament this year as it will be Action and Turbo duels this time." The girl replied before looking at Yuya. "What about you? Will you participate this year?"

"I don't know." Yuya answered sadly. "I've always wanted to but my mother is very strict and I'm just lucky that I managed to sneak out at all. Because of what happened yesterday, I was grounded and locked up in my room for even interacting with people."

"You and your sisters must have it hard." Yuya nodded in agreement before the pink haired girl stopped in front of him. "Then maybe you can manage to sneak out tomorrow to come to this." The girl took out three dark purple envelopes from her pocket. "They're invitations for you and your sisters to the Moonlight Ball, the lantern thing they do is for everyone to participate but the ball you need an invitation to get in if you're not from here. I hope you come tomorrow night."

"What a coincidence! My sisters' birthday is tomorrow, this'll make them excited. But why give these to me?"

"I wanted to properly thank you and I'll take care of the music for the party, I hoped that you would watch me. None of my friends back home can and you seem like a really nice guy."

"Thank you." Suddenly, the two heard the honking of a swan and looked up in the sky to see a lavender swan flying in their direction.

"Is that a purple swan?" The girl asked as the swan landed next to them.

"Yuya! I'm so glad I found you!" The swan said to the tomato haired boy, surprising the girl even more.

"It can talk!" The girl exclaimed.

"She's actually one of my sisters, they were cursed." Yuya explained shortly. "What's wrong, Kaguya?"

"Mother is on her way back home!" The girl turned swan exclaimed in distress. "She told us before she left that she would be back in a few hours to get supplies and we spent so much time looking that we forgot!" Yuya looked distraught over the information as Kaguya looked away in shame. "I'm so sorry, Yuya."

"Don't blame yourself, Kaguya." Yuya replied with a sad smile, knowing how much trouble he would be in if Gothel found out. "You were just trying to help me, that's all."

The pink haired girl looked at her friend with worry, "You have to go?" Yuya nodded as an answer.

"Yeah, something worse can happen if I don't." Yuya replied. "But I promise to be there tomorrow! I'll explain everything to my sisters once I get things sorted out." Yuya ran away with Kaguya in tow as the girl watched as they disappeared from sight.

The siblings ran to one of the castle walls, where it was empty of people and they hurried to a wooden door nearby. Yuya quickly took out the magic paintbrush and started to use its magic to paint a picture of his tower as a portal back.

"You think it'll work back?" Kaguya asked.

"There's only one way to find out." Yuya answered shortly and the two quickly walked into the painting, disappearing from sight.

They appeared inside Yuya's room and Kaguya regained her human form, the two quickly pushed the wardrobe to stand in front of the enchanted painting to hide the fact that Yuya managed to get out of the tower.

"...Mother, Yuya isn't in the mood right now." The voice of Sakuya echoed to the room.

"Hurry!" Yuya exclaimed hushed as they continued to push the wardrobe into place.

"I don't care if he's in a good mood or not, I want to know the girl's name!" Gothel walked into the sight of Yuya sitting on his bed with Kaguya next to him, the former having a sad and defeated look while the latter looked at him worried. "Girls."

The twins prepared to leave before Kaguya said, "We'll come back later." The two left the room, leaving mother and son alone inside the tower. Gothel sighed in annoyance before sitting next to Yuya, who refused to make eye contact with his foster mother.

"Yuya, you should know that I'm doing what's best for your safety." Gothel explained seriously to the special boy next to her, "I've raised you since you were an infant, when you were abandoned by those who call themselves 'your parents'. I've treated you as my own and this is how you thank me, by running away and spitting lies."

"I'm not lying." Yuya stated seriously.

"If you aren't, then what is that girl's name then?" Gothel pointed out with a disbelieving glare.

"Like I told you last night. I don't know." Yuya replied instantly, clenching the sheets underneath him to contain himself.

The witch sighed in annoyance, "Suit yourself. Root in here for all I care." She stood up quickly before walking out of the tower once again, leaving Yuya alone in the tower.

That conversation made it more obvious that he needs to leave this place, the same goes for the twins. They can't stay and be prisoners till their death. Yuya walked over to the closet and started to move it away from the enchanted painting, the flap of wings came in from the open window as he used his strength to push the closet enough to reveal the painting of Lunaria on the wall.

"What are you thinking, Yuya?" Kaguya asked as the youngest turned to the fraternal twins.

"I'm not staying here." Yuya stated. "I want to leave and I'm leaving tomorrow night. I want you two to come with me."

"But what about Mother?" Sakuya asked worried.

"My friend can help us and I want to make your birthday special." Yuya said as he took out the three envelopes from his pocket and held them out. "She gave me these, one for me and one for each of you. The ball is tomorrow night if you are willing to come with me."

The twins looked at each other and nodded in determination, accepting the invitations and thus their plan began to be set in motion. During the day, the three of them start to prepare for the ball as well as plan out their escape from Mother Gothel. Yuya spent his time sketching outfits for the girls as his personal gift to them to wear at the ball by using his magic brush and had told Sakuya and Kaguya to wear clothes that they don't care much about. Meanwhile, after they were done with their chores, Sakuya and Kaguya started to make a jacket for Yuya to wear as a gift.

However, that night would change their lives forever. Both in a good and a bad way.
