Chapter 5
AN: Hey guys. Sorry bout the delay in getting chapter 5 out. The challenge last chapter was to see if you were paying attention to the small details, if you guessed Ereshkigal, you were right. Between work and injuring myself (walking accident waiting to happen that is myself), I was stuck figuring out what I was going to do on this Chapter. I apologize to those who think the death of Snape was a bit soon. Snape is an anti-hero at his core, and I can't write anti-heroes without turning them into true villains. Big surprise for you guys late in the chapter. With that said, let's get into the story!
As she closed the door behind her, Vivian cast a runic seal to isolate the potions classroom from the rest of the school. Immediately after doing so, she pulled out a red notepad from her bag. She had been given this notepad by Auntie Amelia as a way to immediately call on her for emergencies. She knew it was connected to two notepads, one in Auntie Amy's possession, the other in her mom's. She sat down, wrote on her one notepad, and held it to Hannah.
'Keep Ginger and Malfoy away from me for a minute, please. I need to write a message to Auntie Amelia.'
Hannah nodded, and noticed Ron moving towards Vivian.
"Oi! Vivian, now that that dark witch is being dealt with, let's talk about our wedding." Ron started to reach for Vivian, before his hand was smacked away by Hannah. "Hey, Get lost you useless puff, I need to have a word with my intended."
"S-s-she d-doesn't want t-to speak to you, s-so would you please leave her alone."
Ron turned red before punching Hannah in the face. Malfoy laughed about how he wished it was a 'mudblood' getting punched as Vivian stood up, grabbed both the ginger prat, and blonde ferret by their collars, dragged their faces next to her mouth and whispered up to the two of them. The boys lost all sense of being on the ground as they found it impossible to stay away from the ceiling.
'This is why I don't speak. Doing so could cause those around me to be hurt. That is why I whispered the word up to the two of them, rather than just say it out loud.' Vivian held her notepad up for all her classmates to see. As she did so, Jealter exited the classroom.
"That grease stain isn't going to be posing a threat again. Anything happen while I was dealing with him?" Jealter looked around before noticing a distinct lack of a ferret and weasel. "Where are the two rodents?" Vivian and her classmates pointed up. Looking saw her seeing a brawl between the two boys on the ceiling. "You whispered the word 'up,' didn't you?" At Vivian's nod, she looked about the other students. "I'm going to guess the two did something to make you angry. Whatever it was probably involved Petals, as she is holding her cheek. All of you are dismissed from this class. Petals, go to the nurse. Eu, you are with me. We are going to see the Headmaster."
After about thirty minutes of walking aimlessly, Vivian found a gargoyle that had peculiar magic on it. she quickly wrote in her normal notepad and held it up for the statue.
'I am sorry to disturb you, but we need to access the room you are guarding. I would prefer you move on your own rather than have me override the enchantments on you using my primordial runes.'
The statue looked at Jealter. "She can do that?"
"Yup."
"Don't worry about the password, I'm letting you up there right now."
Riding the stairs as they ride, they encounter a large door, which is promptly kicked open by Jealter. "Honey, I'm home!" In the office behind the door, an upset Albus Dumbledore was startled by the abrupt opening of his door.
"How dare you just barge in here." He tried to be calm as he could while he turned his attention to Vivian. "Ah, Ms. Potter. I was going to call for you after dinner. After i get this girl out of my office, I believe we have a few things to discuss."
"Not happening, you old goat. I'm here as her translator due to her not speaking audible words, nevermind the fact that Mother said to never let Vivian be in a room alone with you." Jealter nearly pulled her sword as she said that. Much to Vivian's joy, the fireplace flared as five people stepped through.
"I believe I will take it from here." Amelia said as she turned to face Jealter. "Would you care to explain why Vivian used 'That' note pad?"
Caster glared at Jealter, who looked at her feet. "I may or may not have used my unique spell on the Slime ball of a Potions teacher, killing him due to how it makes the target feel the pain of all their sins." Jealter rubbed the back of her head.
"Sister, you know better than to use your personal spell." Jeanne said, causing Vivian to slightly smile, while Jealter looked at Jeanne.
"I thought you were working at that Elementary school?"
"I was, until we found out that the school was torn down with no warning by a White Phoenix Enterprises, suspiciously owned by one Albus Dumbledore." Jeanne glared at Albus, who was wondering how his plan to bankrupt the Potter Brat's family to make it so they had to give him custody was discovered.
"Questionable business transactions aside, I believe you said you killed a teacher." Amelia started to say before Albus interrupted her.
"Amelia, arrest her for the murder of Severus Snape. As Cheif Warlock of the Wizengamot, I am ordering her to be taken straight to Azkaban, and sentenced to life in the highest security cell the prison has." He thought for sure he now had a way to get his hands on the brat's custody.
"I think not." Caster stated. "You already sentenced one innocent man straight to Azkaban, I will not allow you to do so again. My daughter she may be, but she will get a fair trial."
"Regent Potter, she killed an innocent man for no reason. I will see justice done and the man's killer behind bars."
"Not without a trial. I will not tell you when the trial will be, nor will you be allowed to contact anyone about this trial. I will be handling all paperwork for it myself." Amelia and one of her aurors stepped over to Jealter. "I know at this point it is just a formality, but I have to bring you in. As I know you don't carry a wand, I can't take it from you. Auror Tonks, take her to one of our holding cells. Stand guard of that cell. Only myself is allowed to talk to the prisoner."
"At least someone is doing their job right." Caster pulled Albus' attention back to her. "As to why we three are here, it is due to two things. As you have gotten rid of Jeanne's job by having your 'enterprise' tear her workplace down, she will be taking Jealter's place of being a translator for her little sister. Also due to your multiple times interfering, the board of governors was never able to fire Severus Snape to hire a new teacher for Potions. With his death, and the fact that I earned myself a place on the board four years ago, I have taken the liberty of hiring a new Potions teacher for you." Motioning with her hand. "I believe you already know Mrs. Andromeda Tonks. As of now she is your new Potions Professor. She already has the books she needs ready to go. She will start immediately and be passing reports to the board for our approval of when she needs things for her classes."
"Headmaster, it is a pleasure to see you again. Do keep in mind that I will not be like Severus was and let bullies slide. I have also been selected by the Board to be the head of house for Slytherin. I am not Snape, and I will not do things the way he did."
"Now see here." Albus let his temper get the better of him. "While I will allow the board to hire a new teacher, Severus had my full confidence. He was a valuable spy, making it to where many lives were saved. However, I draw the line at having any adult that is not a teacher constantly around the students." He took a few seconds to compose himself. "Ms. Potter does not need to have a translator. Madam Pomfrey will be able to make any remedy to heal her ability to speak. She is the best after all, and her peers will learn more about her from her telling them on her own. Your daughter is thus dismissed from my school and required to leave effective immediately."
"Wrong again, Dumbledore. The board knew you would try this, as I had told them of her inability to speak years ago. It is not that she can't speak, it is that it is not safe for her to do so. I had this confirmed at St. Mungos, so you will be unable to cover this up. Vivian produces more magic than she will ever be able to burn off. Sealing, blocking, or locking her magic away would be ineffective, as her magic would absorb any binding put on it. Due to this abnormality, her words and emotions are empowered. Any word she says will be enhanced with magic, and have an effect. Jealter is more afraid of me letting Vivian say 'up' than she is of me and my cast iron frying pan. Jeanne was a teacher's aide before you had her workplace torn down. She is more than capable of handling these kids, while maintaining her place as a translator for her sister."
"But-"
"Our business is done here. Andromeda, please feel free to find a nice classroom to set up for your classes, and have the house elves clean up the old one. I must be going, as I have a trial to prepare for." Caster left through the Floo network rather than deal with Dumbledore anymore.
"Headmaster." Jeanne caught his attention. "While I doubt I need to remind you, do remember to stay calm, your heart can't take all the stress." With that, Jeanne, Vivian, and the newly hired Prof. Tonks left Dumbledore to his thoughts.
Soon after the door closed, he started to throw curses out that would make a sailor blush. How DARE they not listen and obey him. He was already mad enough that he had been arguing all day with the Sorting Hat. Why couldn't Flopsy have put the Potter Brat and the youngest male Weasley in Gryffindor, where he could mold her to obey him. It was bad enough that Flamel wouldn't give him the real Philosopher's Stone, as he needed it to become immortal to rule over all humans. He was also angry at the loss of his potion master. He needed Snape to belittle the girl and make her hate Slytherins. He was already working on getting Ronald transferred to the Lion's Den from the Snake Pit when he learned of this.
He thought for sure he could get rid of one barrier to the brat by sending Jealter to Azkaban without a trial, much like he did with Sirius. He needed Pettigrew free to revive Tom. That left another issue. He had placed a charm to make sure he could track the girl on the Holly wand, however, he could not sense the wand. For now, he had to figure out how to make today's events work in his favor.
Great Hall
Jeanne and Vivian were sat at the Hufflepuff table working on the assignment that Prof. Sprout had given to Vivian's class when Hannah came into the hall. She ran over and sat with Vivian.
"Vivian!" Hannah was startled for a second when she didn't see Jealter, but instead saw someone who looked like her.
"Oh, hello." Jeanne looked up from the book on Herbology. "You must be one of Vivian's classmates. My name is Jeanne. I'm one of Vivian's older sisters. You've probably met my twin, Jealter."
"I-I have. M-my name is Hannah. W-what brings y-you here?"
"My old job got torn down abruptly by a business called White Phoenix Enterprises, which just so happens to be ran by the headmaster. I used to be a teacher's aide, but now I'm just looking after my youngest sibling."
Before much else could be said, the three were joined by Sakura, Shirou, Rin, Hermione, Susan, Fred, And George. after a round of introductions and explaining why Jeanne was here instead of Jealter, Vivian signed to Jeanne about the twins.
"You two dealt with your brother on the train for Vivian, correct?"
"We did"
"No need"
"For thanks"
"Could you please not do that." Jeanne asked them. "While I appreciate the fun of having a twin to do that with, I would prefer if you not do so around Vivian. Her body produces more magic than she will ever use, and if she loses control of her emotions, people could get hurt by the uncontrolled burst of magic. She already doesn't speak to keep people safe due to this reason."
"We can do that." Fred nodded at George's words. "Wouldn't want people to get hurt from our jokes. Spreading laughter and joy is our game, not pain and sorrow."
"We understand. If you need any help from us, you got it." Fred watched as Vivian signed to Jeanne about something.
'Ask if they have the Map.'
"Eu, I highly doubt they have it." Vivian signed more to her point. 'I am just verifying if my father's map is in good hands, and not collecting dust in Filtch's office.' "You make a valid point. Fred, George, would you two happen to be in possession of the Marauder's Map?"
"How do you know about the map? And why did you call Vivian You?"
"It was made by Vivian's dad and his friends when they went here. As for your second question, it has to do with her middle name, and she only lets those she considers family call her that."
Before anything else could be said, Ron came up to the group. "There you are, Vivian. Let's ditch these losers and talk about our wedding."
"I believe you have been told before that there is no betrothal between you and Vivian before, Mr. Weasley." Hannah said, without a stutter to boot.
"Drop dead you dumb bint." Ron glared at Hannah before finding himself frozen in a block of ice.
"I know you were told not to use your runes on other students, Ms. Potter." Prof. McGonagall said as she looked at Vivian.
"It was probably more of a reaction than a forethought, professor." Fred Said as he looked at the Ronsicle. " She likely saw him do something that upset her earlier involving our brother."
"Judging by the way Hannah flinched when he told her to, and I quote, 'drop dead,' she likely took that as a threat to her friend."
"While I understand the need to defend one's friends, I still told you not to use such magic on your fellow students. Ten points from Hufflepuff and a detention with me tomorrow evening." McGonagall was stern before she smiled. "And thirty points to both Hufflepuff and Gryffindor for school unity."
'I understand, Professor.' Vivian held up her notepad. After McGonagall had left, taking the Ronsicle with her to go see Madame Pomfrey at the head table, Dumbledore came into the hall through a side chamber.
"Attention." He called out. "I regret to inform you that Earlier today, Professor Severus Snape was killed by an unknown spell. Before we begin to eat, I would like to take a moment of silence in memory of our dearly departed potions master." After a ouple of minutes, he spoke again. "The board, has hired on a new professor to take over his duties as head of Slytherin house, and as your potions professor. Please welcome Professor Andromeda Tonks." All of the hall except Slytherin table cheered, as they realized that they were no longer going to be getting away with their normal actions.
September 4, 1991 Wizengamot chamber
Vivian sat in the area for potential witnesses to be called as she though back to the last two days. Her sister Jeanne had put the weasel in his place for calling her dark. She told him that just because people have different opinions didn't make one light or dark. The boy didn't care, too full of himself to see reality. As she waited, she looked to her sisters in attendance, Miya and Jeanne. Her sister Eri had to work, and was keeping a close guard of her library. She knew that Dumbledore was out to get rid of the employments of Vivian's sisters, likely as a way to get her under his guidance as her guardian. Vivian was pulled out of her thoughts as Amelia got the Trial under way.
"Silence in the court room. We have two trials to get to today. The firs is against Jealter, daughter of Regent Potter." Amelia was cut off at that point.
"No trial will be had for that dark witch. For her crime of murdering an innocent man, in my position as Chief Warlock, sentence her immediately to life in Azkaban." Dumbledore hollered out, before Caster spoke up.
"I think not, as you are on trial as well. My daughter is to face a fair trial, which you are so adamant to not allow, much like how you buried Mr. Black by using your authority to imprison without a trial. Do see yourself out of that chair for the remainder of these two trials." Caster scolded as she told Dumbledore what to do.
"I reject your statement. All trials in which I am to face opposition are to be thrown out immediately."
"By my right as rightful guardian, and adoptive mother of Vivian Eucliwood Potter, Heiress of the Most Ancient and Royal Houses of Pendragon and Le Fey, Decendant and Heiress of Galahad, Heiress of the Most Ancient and Noble Houses Potter and Peverell, I here by ban Albus Dumbledore from abusing his station and order his immediate resitting as a defendant." Caster continued as she would not let that fact get too far out. " I do remind our friends in the press, that if any slander is written against Vivian, the one who wrote it will be facing a public outcry as the will have angered me."
"As Regent Potter said, you are on trial as well. Remove yourself from the peerage, and move to the defendant area." Grudgingly, Dumbledore moved from his seat to the defendant sector. "Also to note, Any vote you have is now vetoed, and anyone you contacted and ordered to vote in your favor will vote truthfully, or face the consequences of the Primordial runes Regent Potter placed around this chamber to ensure the absolute truth."
As Jealter was led in she looked to her sisters, and saw a fierce look on the face of Miya. They knew something was up. Jeanne had likely had a vision. Something was going to happen in this trial.
"Jealter, you are accused of the murder of one Severus Tobias Snape. How do you plead?"
"Guilty."
"It is noted that you plead guilty. Do tell what happened."
"Since I can sense Mother's runes about the room, I won't Bother trying to hold any half truths. Vivian and I entered the potions classroom with the rest of her classmates. We waited for a few minutes for the teacher, who happened to be a spiteful man. After a brief speech, he immediately singled out Vivian, and called for her to answer a question. As she went to sing to me the answer in sign language so I could translate, he forbid her from doing so. He then forbid her from using her notepad for when her friends or one of her sisters isn't nearby to translate for her. After doing that, he berated her on her inability to talk, continuing in to berate and disparage against her father. After a few taunts, he slapped her, telling her to, and I quote, 'Learn her place among her betters.' I will note that I had been getting angrier with each word out of his mouth. When he slapped her, my anger spiked, and I threw him across the room before having the children leave the room. I then told him off as he tried to kill me with multiple spells, before I unleashed my personal magic."
Caster spoke up at this point. "If I may interrupt. Each of my daughters has a personal spell that is unique to them. we have however learned that Vivian has the possibility of learning these personal spells." Neither Caster or Avenger were going to reveal the full truth of what a Noble Phantasm was to these morons, as then they would have to explain the Servant system. "Vivian has learned only one of the personal spells of one set of twins. Jealter's Personal spell makes the target feel all of their sins."
Fudge showed his idiocy. "May we ask a demonstration of the one she learned?"
As Vivian, Jeanne, and Miya made their way to the center of the room, a man stood up from the dark faction, pulled his wand, and aimed at Vivian. "Avada Kedavra!"
Miya reacted faster than almost anyone else. by the time she had summoned her swords, Vivian had summoned a shield from a charm on a necklace she wore. (Think of Mash's Shield from Grand Order before the Lost belts.) As the Spell splashed harmlessly off the shield, the room felt a surge of magic as Miya spoke out.
"Amen. I place my trust in Tenjin of the Tenman Shrine, deity of absolute freedom. Hadoukannon, use my rage to sever all evil. This one blade is my path of emptiness, the culmination of my life! Ishana Daitenshou!" As Miya spoke, she sheathed her blades, and behind her a spectre with four arms appeared. after the being slashed four times, Miya formed a large beam of energy, and slashed, severing the man from his magic instead of killing him due to holding back by a long shot.
"Aurors, arrest her." Fudge called out.
"Stand Down." Amelia ordered. "You held back, right Miya?"
"Of course. With a bit of finesse, I was able to alter my personal spell to sever his magical core instead of his karma. Had I severed that, he would be dead. Good thinking to summon your ancestor's shield, Vivian."
"Minister, I believe that will serve as a good presentation of their personal magic?"
"Y-yes, Madame Bones."
After that, the trial went by quickly. Jealter was found innocent when it was presented all the crimes that Snape had commited. She was fined two thousand Galleons for killing him on school grounds, but that was easily covered thanks to the one million Galleon bounty the ICW had out for Snape dead or alive. A quick trial was made for the man that tried to kill vivian, who turned out to be Theodore Nott Sr. He was found guilty, and sentenced to life in Azkaban. The real upset of the day was Dumbledore's Trial. His actions in front of the members of the Wizengamot got him fired from both the ICW as Supreme Mugwump, and from the Wizengamot as Chief Warlock. He managed to hold on to his position of headmaster by a bare minimum of votes. As a ruling, Jealter was allowed to go back to Hogwarts as a Translator, but had to have someone watching her so as to keep a repeat of this event from happening. Since Jeanne had been at Hogwarts since the day Snape died, she was made Jealter's minder, much to Jealter's chagrin.
And that's all for now. Again, sorry about the delay. I know it is a short chapter compared to the last two, but I was barely able to get this out with how tired I've been from pushing too hard at work. I'd get home and go straight to sleep. No challenge this week. Please leave a review, and I'll try to do better at finding a better schedule of getting my chapters out.
