Chapter 7: Back in his arms part 2
Hae Soo
They were safely escorted to their residence by palace guards. Everyone was shocked to discuss what had happened. They were later joined by Baek Ah. Princess Yeon Hwa and Myung Hee made plans to wait for Prince Wook along with Prince Baek Ah while Hae Soo retired to her chamber. She requested her servants not to disturb her till morning. She searched through her belonging to find her herbs, which she purchased along with Myung Hee's herbs. She started preparing tea and herbs for his wound. She stuffed her bed with pillows and threw a blanket over it. Making it look like she was sleeping. She sneaked out of her room to Prince So's chambers. She waited anxiously for his return.
Wang So
He was tired while he reached his chamber. He declined Crown Prince's offer to tend his arm by the royal physician. He regrets it. He wants to fall asleep so that Yeon Hwa wouldn't make a move on him this time.
When he entered, he sensed someone's presence in his chambers. Though the candles aren't lit, he could sense someone. He was ready to unsheath his sword. He was surprised to see his Soo waiting for him. She had her back turned towards the door.
He asked, "What are you doing here?" that startled her.
"you startled me," she spoke while turning to take a look at him.
"You still haven't answered my question," he asked her.
"I am here to tend your arm" her honest answer made him feel happy.
"I don't want your help, go back to your chamber," he rejected her.
She didn't budge. She got up and pushed him to sit down on his futon. Now he was facing away from the door and facing her. She ignored his question. She started to inspect his wound and began to tend him.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. It was Princess Yeon Hwa's voice calling out for him. They both didn't know what to do. He threw his coat onto the plate to hide the traces of Hae Soo's presence. He pulled Hae Soo towards him and threw a blanket over them and covered her completely so that she couldn't be seen.
Princess Yeon Hwa came into his chambers only to find out that he was sleeping. She didn't want to disturb him, so she retired.
Hae Soo
Hae Soo was scared of being caught and irritated at thought Princess Yeon Hwa's appearance. Hae Soo sighed in relief on hearing Princess Yeon Hwa's receding footsteps. She pushed the blanket off her head. Her eyes caught his graze only to find him staring back at her. They were lying together; she was back in his arms and staring at each other for a long time before breaking the contact. She sat up and asked him to drink the tea that she has prepared without looking at him. She said it will soothe pain and helps him to sleep peacefully. She was about to get out of his futon. She was suddenly pulled back into his arms. He whispered, "Thank you" before letting her go though he was reluctant to do it. She poured him the tea and asked him to drink it. "Your Highness, It will soothe your pain and you will able to sleep properly".Hae Soo bowed and ran back to her chambers. Her heart was beating rapidly against her chest. She was happy once again, at the same time, wondering whether her Prince started to like her back. She went back to sleep, feeling happy for the first time since her re-entry into Goryeo. On her way back from 4th Prince chambers to her chambers, she failed to notice two figures were looking at her in surprise.
Wang So
He lamented himself for his impulsive action. He didn't want them to part, but now he was worried whether she was scared of his action. He saw that she was wearing his hairpin. The one that he gave her yesterday night. He is confused about whether she likes him or not. Her actions tell him that she like him, but her reactions tell him something different altogether. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep on his own thanks to Hae Soo and his wound, so he drank the tea. She has prepared the tea precisely the same way he likes. Though it was medicinal tea, not his favorite tea. He loved the fact that she had made for him. He slowly started to drift back to sleep with a smile on his face.
A/N: I hope you all like it.
