Important! Please read!:
I have something important I just realized! So I have a plan for the majority of the worlds Jaune will be visiting. When writing the story outline I ended up Knowing for sure the first, second, and forth world Jaune visited. I have idea's for the third but so far nothing as clicked as intimately as the others. So if y'all wanna submit worlds for me to consider go for it! The criteria are as follows:
1: The world has to be at City Block level or less world. That means no destroying planets and no moving faster than light! It must be believable that Jaune could survive longer than a few minutes in a standard fight. Think first season Eren Yeager, he can destroy a city block with ease, but with obvious weakness'. Or Edward Elric, his transmutation ability, while strong, is weaker in close combat. Or even Bakugo, his Quirk can take down a building quickly, but he has drawbacks and can't stand up to significant punishment.
2: It must be easily researchable. I don't know every anime, game, book, or tv show series there is. I have to be able to read a wiki or be able to easily search for the source material.
3: It can come from anywhere. I won't be restricting myself to just Anime, in fact the next world Jaune visits will be from a video game. I'll keep which one a secret for now.
That's about it I'd love to see what worlds y'all suggest as I am sure there is more than a few obvious ones I am forgetting. If I pick your world I'll give you credit and a shout out. While there isn't a set limit on how many worlds Jaune will visit, I won't be making this poor boy loose his friends over and over again for eight thousand chapters. But I can definitely do it for longer than his mental health will allow!
I'm making an executive decision. The effects that come from different breathing techniques? They're real and perceivable in this Fanfic. Why did the mangaka even say it was only for the show? The demons have literal blood magic, and in the manga the Ubuyashiki kids end up using a spell! Or talisman, I forget at this time. Point is, it's already a fantasy world! So if breathing in a weird way and swinging a sword is they way this world can utilize magic then who am I to judge? I'd sooner believe in magic breathing, than I would Tanjiro can mlg swing a sword hard enough to negate fall damage.
I want to thank MrRayney, AgentZwolf, 0212, Zathol, Lightduck16, and MM Browsing for their kind reviews!
Lets answer some of the questions y'all asked!
0212: I have plans for the main cast, it's a bit in the future as Jaune got brought in a year and a half before Tanjiro started his journey. It won't be too long though!
Zathol: You nailed a difference between the two Yang's, Yangoku has been pretty much trained from birth to be a Hashira, so she's a lot more focused in battle and skilled with the blade. However, she does still love a good fight!
LightDusk16: Thank you for your criticism! I tried to fix that issue when I was editing this chapter!
MM Browsing: As much as I love the idea of Jaune picking up powers as he goes, I find it a bit unrealistic. That isn't to say Jaune won't pick up any techniques or items from these various worlds. If I send him to a world like Fairy Tail, he couldn't learn magic. It's something unique that the inhabitants of that world, and Jaune doesn't have the capacity for their magic. But any worlds where Jaune could conceivably learn or gain something he just might! This is just an example but if I sent him to the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood world, then Jaune could learn alchemy. In that world alchemy isn't something people are born with, but by using the correctly drawn circles they can access the magic of their Earth. And Jaune can definitely learn to draw a circle! However, Jaune wouldn't be able to access the Gate Of Truth. Nor could he use Alchemy in other worlds, unless the Earth of that world compares similarly enough to FMA:B's Earth.
Jaune's head was spinning, his thoughts a mess of conflicting emotions.
He was in a different world. A radically different world. For one, Hunters didn't exist. Demon Slayers did, only they weren't quite demons they were slaying? He didn't know the full story but it was more like zombie vampires? That also had weird semblance like soul powers? And the Demon Slayers were a secret organization that tasked themselves with killing the demons with special blades that were the only thing that could kill them. What's next, did toilets not exist?
Jaune was able to hide that he was from a different world. Admittedly it did take Jaune much longer than it should've to realize it, but come on! He thought that demons were just a new type of human infecting Grimm that could access semblances. He was asked where he was from, and anxiously stuttered out west. Mentally Jaune was beating himself over the head for such a dumbass response, but they bought it!
After a few more minutes of conversation the boss, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, asked Yang if it would be okay for Jaune to stay with her for the time being. And if Yang wouldn't mind teaching him how to fight, apparently there was an exam coming up in a half a year. If he passed then he would be able to join their ranks. Jaune was originally hesitant, but realizing he couldn't exactly hop on a bullhead home he agreed. At the very least he could save people.
After their meeting Jaune headed to his temporary home with Yang. Just long enough to get a change of clothes, a temporary demon killing sword, and a quick bite to eat. Yang's little brother was hesitant at meeting Jaune, but once Yang told him that Jaune was going to be training with her to take the exam he stepped forward and said hi. Senjuro was a nice kid, a little too polite, but he sure could make a good meal! He also met the only other of Yang's students, Mitsuri Kanroji.
Mitsuri was a cute girl, but her uniform about gave him a heart attack! She stood about a head shorter than Jaune, her hair was a light bubblegum pink that turned bright green at the ends and her eyes were the same green as her hair. When Jaune put his hand out for a handshake she almost broke it! And then his shoulder when she actually started shaking it! Yang told Jaune that as she had passed her Exam a couple weeks back that she would be accompanying them on their trip.
All too soon they had to leave for the Imperial City. Yang told him it was training and as such he wouldn't be expected to step in unless people were in danger, but Jaune could tell it was because she didn't trust him around her family. Which, understandable. He wouldn't trust himself if he was in her shoes. Yang then instructed that no matter what he was to stay by either her or Mitsui's side.
After an hour or two of walking, the trio finally reached the City just as the Sun was sitting. Yang then noticed a gathering of Demon Slayers and walked into their group.
"Hello everyone! Have any of you noticed where the demon is residing!" Yang exclaimed to the group.
Hearing a round of "No ma'am" Yang started giving out orders, "Everyone stick to your pairs! If you spot him, send a message with your crows and prioritize evacuating citizens! Come back safe!" With that the eight of them split off in four groups and headed in different directions, while Yang, Mitsuri, and Jaune stayed as a group of three.
After a few seconds Yang turned towards Mitsuri and exclaimed, "This'll be great! It's our first time going on a mission together!"
Jaune could see that Mitsuri was caught off guard, being in her thoughts. She anxiously replied, "Y-yeah, uhh right!"
Yang cocked her head, "Is there something wrong, Kanroji?"
Before the pinkette could say anything in reply, a child ran into her back and fell down, Mitsuri turned and realizing it was a child knelt beside him, "A-are you alright?"
Poor Mitsuri looked so scared when the child started crying that Jaune couldn't help it, he picked the child up and, putting on his best big brother smile, asked, "Did you hurt yourself when you fell?" Getting a nod in return Jaune then asked, "Okay and can you tell me where it hurts?"
While the kid was pointing at his knee, a woman appeared. Seeing the boy in Jaune's arms snatched the boy away. She then pointed at Jaune and Mitsuri and shrieked out, "Hands of my child! Why do the both of you have such weird hair? Are those Katanas?! You two must be kidnappers! I'm calling the police!"
At that point Yang interjected. She picked the boy up and put him on her shoulder, "Ahaha! Nothing quite so sinister ma'am! We were simply walking and your boy ran into us! My friends were trying to calm your son down so we could help him back to you!"
The mom looked taken aback by Yang's positivity, and the fact that she was drawing a crowd. The child then piped up asking Yang, "Ma'am why is your hair weird?"
Yang just laughed it off, "I dunno! It runs in the family! Maybe it's because my ancestors ate too much fried shrimp! AHAHA!"
Jaune watched as Yang made the child laugh before turning to Mitsuri. She looked upset because of what the woman said. Gently nudging her with his arm he waited until she was looking him in the eye to smile and whisper, "Hey it's okay, ignore what the banshee over there yelled at us. She's just jealous that she's stuck with boring black hair."
Mitsuri let out a little giggle, "So my hair's not… strange?"
Jaune just grinned widely, "Not where I come from. My friends all have different colored hair, from red, white, yellow, orange, to even Ren and Ruby. They both have black hair but Ren has a streak of pink through his and Ruby's is like yours, but her hair is black with red at the ends. Besides, I happen to quite like your hair, it's unique!"
Jaune then turned towards the approaching Yang, she was waving bye to the kid, and completely missed the look on Mitsui's face. "Everything good with the kid and his Mom, Yang?" Jaune asked.
Yang grinned and gave a thumbs up to the pair, "Sure is! Let's get going, I'd rather not give the demon the chance to hurt anyone!"
Just then, a building a block from them exploded, and in the distance they could hear several other explosions. And the screaming started.
Mitsuri started running off, "I'll go help them!" Yang grabbed the back of her shirt yelling out a wait. And a bullet impacted the building where her head would have been had Yang not intervened. Spotting the glint of the scope Yang blurred up the side of the building and appeared swinging a sword wreathed in flames at the figure up there.
But Jaune saw none of that, what he saw was a half destroyed dormitory building, his breathing picked up, the bodies of his classmates on the ground littering it like discarded toys of a mad woman, he started hyperventilating, in a circle around him were the bodies of his closest friends and family, staring at him, judging him for being too weak, too pitiful to save even one of them. The building next to them exploded, momentarily pulling him from his thoughts. Mitsuri looked at the rubble and yelled out, "Rengoku!" Charging at the rubble to save her superior she missed the demon regenerating next to her.
The demon grabbed her and threw her to the ground at her feet, he stepped on her face pinning her down and placed his gun just above her eye. He started saying something to Mitsuri, but Jaune didn't hear that. Jaune barely saw that. What he saw was the body of Pyrrha, lying under Cinder's heel, with a fire ball held in an outstretched palm.
Jaune moved, in blink Jaune was behind Cinder, he swore he wouldn't miss this time. Jaune didn't even wait for his blade to clear the sheathe before coating it in so much aura his blade was illuminated white. The wisps of his aura coming off the blade like a frozen fog. Swinging his blade for Cinder's neck he was rewarded with her shriek of pain. She jumped off Pyrrha and turned her fire wreathed hand his way.
But Jaune was already moving, he knew that the first hit wouldn't kill her. Cinder's aura was too high for that, and Jaune's strength too low to break it in one hit. By the time the witch pointed her hand where Jaune should have been, Jaune was inside of her reach, blade pointed straight for her heart. Jaune laughed at the shriek she made, even as she faded to shadow and disappeared from his eyesight.
Looking around for his prey, Jaune spotted nothing. Sheathing his blade Jaune was rewarded with an uncomfortable feeling of his blade jarring against his sheath. Looking at his sword he was broken from his odd trance. Blinking at the Katana too long and thin to fit in his shield-sheath he moved it to its actual sheath, that being just below his shield, and looked around. He spotted Mitsuri and ran to her side. "Mitsuri, are you okay?" Jaune asked as caringly as possible.
Mitsuri just blinked at him, "Y-you said Rengoku hasn't started training you yet right?" Jaune blinked at the weird question and nodded. Mitsuri then sighed and said, "S-so this is your first time fighting a demon?"
Jaune, confused, responded, "Yeah, Mitsuri are you okay? Did you hit your head when you were tossed to the ground?"
At that point Yang made her reappearance. Sprinting to the two she was covered in blood from various deep cuts she had on her body. Jaune then yelled and ran to her, looking her over. "Oh my god! Are you okay? Did the demon break through your aura that quickly?!"
Yang just laughed, laughed! She laughed at being so seriously close to death as for her aura to be empty! "I do not know what you mean by aura but I am fine Jaune! This came from the building we were fighting on blowing up from his attack!"
Jaune breathed a sigh of relief, at least she was okay… wait a second, "Are you telling me… that you… don't haVE AURA?!"
Jaune was in sheer disbelief, there was no way these Demon Slayers did all they did without aura! Grabbing her Jaune tried to unlock her aura the way Pyrrha unlocked his in the woods a year ago. God what were the words! He was sure he remembered them! Pushing his aura into Yang he tried to think back onto the words she used, his soul responded, and Jaune said.
"For it is in our actions we become more than human.
Unbowed by hardship and fear,
Unemotional in the gaze of death and unrelenting in our pursuits.
By my soul I unlock your shackles and release thee,
To save all."
When Jaune next opened his eyes it was to Yang, glowing a soft yellow, the wound on her head sealing up before his eye.
Yang grabbed his arm, "What was that, it felt… warm. I feel invigorated, like I could take on the entire Twelve Kitzuki at once!" Jaune sighed, pleased it had worked and let go of her, when he went to speak he was cut off by Yang, "The feeling's gone, Jaune is that spell you used on me touch based?" Yang asked with curiosity coloring her red eyes.
Jaune then felt fear again, "What do you mean it's gone! After I unlocked my aura it felt like a tickling heat on my skin for days!" Even now Jaune could feel his aura brimming on his skin, a quick check revealed the 'unlocking' of Yang's aura took out roughly ten percent. For some reason his aura was much lower than it should be, sixty percent maybe? How did he waste almost thirty percent of his aura in a few seconds?
Yang shrugged, "Well I'm telling you I don't feel it. Maybe that aura of yours is something special to those from your land?"
Jaune then sighed, "Yeah that'd make sense." Joking, he said, "I am from another world, figures that wouldn't work. Dumb Jaune, never thinking your ideas through." Jaune knocked his knuckles against the side of his head and chuckled, looking at the two people in front of him. And froze up as he realized what he just said.
"You're from a… different world?" Mitsuri asked hesitantly.
Shit, time for plan D! Distraction! "Uhhh no? Hey the demon is still out and about, so maybe we should go find him?"
Thankfully Yang took the out, leaving plan E unused. Plan E was escape by the way. "Jaune's right. We can discuss this after the battle. Did either of you two see where he went?"
Mitsuri spoke up, "No he disappeared into the ground. We don't know where he went."
Yang nodded, "Alright, in that case, you two go and disable the rest of the bombs. I am going to find him and take him down."
Jaune was conflicted about that. On one hand disarming bombs would save the civilians, on the other hand, she didn't have aura to protect her. The decision was taken out of his hands when Mitsuri interjected, "Will do ma'am! But I would feel better if you took Jaune along. He's already injured the demon, so it'll more than likely come for him in retaliation."
Ah, so that wasn't Cinder who he attacked. Then why did he fly into a rage and imagine the demon as Cinder? And what did the demon actually look like? Hopefully it was like the difference between a Ursai and a Bear.
Yang looked thoughtful, "Okay Kanroji, good luck. And come back safe." After Mitsuri gave a curt nod and sprinted off, Yang turned to him. "Jaune, let's go." With that Yang and Jaune sprinted off to hunt down the demon.
Yang felt pretty confident that he would appear any time now, he seemed to be a resentful being. Mostly driven by his need for revenge. With a Rengoku and the latest 'Demon Slayer' to injure it together it was unlikely to resist getting them back for that. Speaking of, how did Jaune injure the demon in the first place? When she swung for it her sword was caught by its demon blood art. Either Jaune got incredibly lucky, or there was more to the teen in front of her than she thought. And she wasn't forgetting that "from another world" comment for the foreseeable future.
After running for another ten minutes, she and Jaune stopped at an intersection and considered their next move.
"Jaune, the demon's demonic blood art holds several weapons in it. The longer we take to find him the more death and destruction it causes. I think we should split up, it could be he's afraid of attacking with the both of us together like this." She jerked her thumb over her shoulder at the building behind her, "I'll go up and use the rooftops if you can search the alleyways?"
Jaune sighed, he was afraid of this. But he was more afraid of people dying when he could do something about it. Nodding his head Jaune responded, "You got it, Yang. I'll do my best to lure him out. Happy Hunting." Yang nodded back and started running before disappearing from his vision, she reappeared on a ledge about halfway up her chosen building. Turning around, Jaune ran down a narrow alley.
Jaune was running down his fifth alley and still spotted nothing. At this point he was growing increasingly anxious. Keeping his aura up full time while hearing explosions and death around him was taxing his mental state. Reaching a little past midway Jaune heard the shift of trash behind him. Loosing his blade from its sheath he spun to see what the commotion was. Spotting a kitten pawing through a trash can, Jaune fractionally relaxed, letting his aura relax for but a moment. And when he spun he saw what he could only assume as the demon.
It's face was a deathly white, shadowed by its strangely pointed black hair, his eyes held a strange symbol in each. His clothing consisted of a white dress shirt, white pants, and white gloves. Around his shoulders was a dark black cape. And pointed at Jaune's chest was a gun. Oh shi-
A gun retort went off followed by a body hitting the ground and a few gasps of pain. The demon lowered its gun and walked forward laughing, "I thought you'd be a challenge boy, being able to actually attack me and all! But it turns out all you Demon Slayers are the same!" Leaning forward he admired the pain on the boys face and smirked, "Nothing in the face of a gun!"
Then the boy smirked, "And your gun is nothing for my Aura!"
The demon could only blink, "Wahh, ARUG!" Suddenly the demon felt like he was falling. Hitting the ground revealed why. He was missing his knees. And the legs below the knees. And the feet below those legs. Looking up he could see the boy standing above him. The bullet pushing out of his chest hit the ground, and with a flash of white light, the bullet hole closed.
Jaune idly wiped his chest, to get rid of the blood and the phantom pain of a bullet entering, and leaving his chest. "You got real unlucky, picking me and not Yang. Because it seems like Aura is your weakness!" Jaune raised his barely glowing white blade and swung at the demon's neck. Bracing for the impact of hitting the demon's neck, and then the concrete below that, Jaune sword instead felt like it hit nothing. Looking closely Jaune realized it had instead hit a swirling vortex of eyes and inky blackness.
Shocked, he looked into the demon's eyes. The demon laughed and shrugged his shoulders. "Guess your aura is useless against my shadows!" Raising his gun the demon prepared to fire.
Jaune, seeing the gun raise, instinctively flooded his body with aura. Which had the added effect of flooding his sword with aura. Which had the unintentional effect of giving off a bright white light, erasing the demon's demonic blood art. The demon, feeling the effects of a sword suddenly appearing in the middle of his neck, choked out a scream and used his shadows at his half regenerated feet, summoning his dogs of war.
Jaune jumped back and swung his glowing sword at the dogs, each one dissipating at his blade touching any part of them. The last dog had an unwelcome surprise resting in its mouth. That being a stick of dynamite. Jaune hastily grabbed and unfolded his shield. Tanking the blast head on he slammed into the wall behind him. Raising up Jaune kept his shield before him and the demon, waiting for any more surprises. The demon, now standing rushed him with a variety of guns sticking from the shadows on its chest. Jaune met his charge half way and was shocked when the demon sunk into his shadow.
Spinning around to meet the incoming surprise attack, Jaune instead faced a dented brick wall. Glancing around revealed nothing, until the retort of a gun and a solid hit on the back of his aura made him spin around. Spotting nothing Jaune looked up to see the demon standing in a pool of shadows halfway up the wall, opening his mouth in disbelief, Jaune hastily raised his shield as a staccato beat of gunshots rang against the front. Hearing a grunt of pain and the pausing of bullets Jaune looked up, and spotted a falling Yang and demon.
Both landed with the demon looking far worse for wear. His head was currently hanging by a thread, Yang yelled out, "Repent for the flames of purgatory are coming for you! Jaune, light your sword!"
Jaune responded by lighting up his sword with as much aura as possible and raised it to the sky.
Yang smirked to herself. She was right to let the demon choose its own target, she banked on the fact it wanted her as revenge for the slight her father gave it. And would thus attack the unknown who could negate its shadows. It probably planned to kill Jaune and use him to antagonize her, breaking her spirit and making sure the unknown wouldn't cut its fun short in the middle of its revenge. Observing the battle proved its demon was no match for Jaune's aura, not because his aura negated the demonic taint, but because his aura made the environment too bright for its demonic blood art to take effect.
Charging forward, Yang yelled and used Flame Breathing: First Form, Unknowing Fire to immediately appear in the demon's face, and decapitate it before it could mount a defense. Watching the head spin through the air, she waited until it started to dissipate to sheathe her sword. Turning to Jaune she walked forward and exclaimed, "Good job, Jaune! That was simply marvelous to use its weakness of bright lights to destroy its shadows!" She laughed while patting his shoulder.
Jaune chuckled with her, "I'm glad I was able to help defeat the demon, but now isn't the time for celebrations, we should help out with searching for more bombs and tend to the citizens."
Yang nodded, "I've already sent a crow for the Kakushi, they clean up after battles and tend to the wounded. They're the non-combatants of the Corps."
Jaune nodded, breathing out a sigh of relief. "Still I'm sure the town could use all the help it could get. The demon did destroy several buildings after all."
Yang smiled at him all the wider for that, "Such kindness! It is exhilarating! Let's go! I'm Sure there are several people that could use your healing skills!" Jaune nodded, glad he could be as useful as possible.
The morning after the battle was a happy one for Jaune. After the battle Jaune healed as many of the people as he could. His throat was about as sore from his chant as his back was from bending down for as many hugs as he did. There were several people his Aura simply couldn't heal, the damage they sustained was too great for it, and several others he had to refuse, his aura ran out sometime after the thirtieth person he healed. Yet still, feeling close to collapsing, Jaune picked up a length of bandages and started helping with his limited first aid knowledge.
When he made it to bed that night, it was with a heavy body and a light soul. And also some bright cheeks from the grateful women that had showed their appreciation with little kisses and hugs.
Exiting his room the next morning, he greeted Yang leaving hers. Her hair was a mess, tousled every which way barely contained in the hair tie she hastily put it in. She grunted out something that might've contained a reply, but just as likely could've been a curse at his early morning energy. Jaune chuckled, even in another world Yang was never an early bird.
As they walked to the foyer Mitsuri joined them, saying a quick hello to both she fell in step with them. It appeared she was an early riser as well. Just before reaching the exit, the owner stopped them.
She was an older woman of a taller stature, standing a few inches below even Jaunes frame. She pressed a couple of lunch boxes into Jaunes hands and thanked him once again for healing her husband. The two of them were on a date the night before when a piece of rubble landed on his head. When she saw Jaune later looking half dead on his feet, she all but dragged him to their inn as repayment for healing her husband. Jaune tried to refuse the offer, on account of his fellow Demon Slayers wanting to get their rooms near each other so they could leave together, she said she had more than enough room for the three of them and practically picked Jaune up to get him to the inn before he could refuse. Jaune was mortified, and Yang and Mitsuri laughed at his misery!
Knowing resistance was futile he graciously accepted the food and waved to her husband, a lightly tanned bear of a man, with a glorious mustache that even Port would be envious of. Setting out on their path, with the last vestiges of the dawn disappearing, Jaune felt that this path would be the right one to take. It might not be the career he dreamed of, but with a city full of happy and safe citizens at his back, and the path forward looking hopeful, Jaune was more than ready to take on whatever life threw at him!
Jaune was not ready for this. The trio, consisting of Yang, Mitsuri, and him, made it back safely to the Rengoku family home. After a round of hugs from Senjuro, only Yang and himself set out to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. Yang to announce the slaying of the Kitzuki, and Jaune there to corroborate her story. When they had arrived at the compound and told Master Ubuyashiki of their success, he had been nothing but smiles. Ubuyashiki then requested they both stay the night at his family home while he sent for the other Hashira. There they would tell the full story, and Yang would be awarded the position of Flame Hashira for her successful trial.
Jaune now knew Ubuyashiki's smile was the honey covering the wasp's nest of pointy swords that were the Hashira. When Yang had first told the Master of their success in slaying the demon, that was all she told them. That they, together, killed the demon. Ubuyashiki had been ecstatic at both their success, and the fact that neither bore any sign of being injured from the fight. He then asked them both to wait until morning to tell the rest of the gathering Hashira, where then they would tell the story of slaying the Kitzuki, give the title to Yang, and make merry for the night!
It started out well, until Yang just had to tell them about Jaune's combat prowess and his aura ability. So there Jaune knelt, beside the newest Flame Hashira with five pairs of eyes staring him down. Two with curiosity, two with a battle hungry gaze, and one with an examining gaze. The last scared him the most. He could handle the second easily enough, he lived with Nora for a year. If you didn't wake up to Magnihild's business end every second Tuesday something was wrong. And you should immediately call a Defcon three and hunt the school for a rouge Nora.
The last one looked more like she wanted him on a petri dish in front of her immediately, and resistance was not only futile but would make it more exhilarating for her. Jaune shivered as he felt the gaze split his various body parts for examination. Jaune took a moment to try and force his situation into words. When nothing came up he figured he'd go with the signature Jaune Arc plan A, winging it!
"Before I woke up in this compound yesterday, I was much further away from you all. I come from the world of Remnant, where deadly monsters called Grimm rule over ninety-three percent of the available landmass. And the one thing keeping the tide of darkness are the Hunters. Almost a year ago now, I snuck away from home. To follow my childhood dream, and become a Hunter myself."
Second chapter done! And look at that! Several things about the plot and mechanics of this world get revealed! Uh oh, Jaune's secret is revealed! How will the Hashira react?
First off, Jaune's aura isn't a teachable thing. It can still interact with the world when used, but there won't be an army of unkillable Hashira level Demon slayers coming Muzan's way anytime soon… unless y'all want an omake about it! I am also going with canon Jaune's semblance of aura boosting! Course he doesn't know it's called that.
And his aura isn't a kill all for demons, when he uses his aura in a Nichirin blade it does create some interesting effects, but we don't know exactly what those are quite yet. The blade he was loaned from the Rengoku household isn't a full Nichirin blades. Those are awarded personally to each demon slayer once they survive the Final Selection. The one Jaune was loaned has only the edge of it lined in Nichirin. The only reason his blade even did anything different to the demon was because his blade was flooded in so much aura that using it for a couple of seconds massively drained his aura. But it did create light powerful enough to illuminate this particular demons shadows.
In the actual story there is this whole deal with the demon where it is chasing down Rengoku Sr. for revenge. Up to the part where Jaune attacks him over Mitsuri's body is 100% cannon. In the actual story once Mitsuri is on the ground he starts monologuing long enough for Rengoku to emerge from the rubble and fight him off, he then sends Mitsuri away to destroy the bombs, Mitsuri starts laying the foundation for her particular style of breathing while she fights his dogs, she gets some character develpment whatever, Rengoku and demon have this epic fight where he literally fires every bullet and throws every bomb at the Demon Slayer, and Rengoku stays standing the entire time. End of the fight comes, and Shadow demon starts frantically looking in his shadows for any weapons left. He finds an old katana, flashes back to his tragic backstory™, and then asks Rengoku if he is Shinjuro Rengoku, Kyojuro Rengoku says yes, demon puts his shadows on his body in the form of a werewolf, for extra power I guess, and they have one final slash at each other. Happy ever after, story continues, Rengoku becomes RengOku, wishes Tanjiro the best yadda yadda, blah blah.
Now, I could've had Jaune be the one who gets the killing blow, thinking about it from the demons perspective, Shadow boi is a revenge driven guy, in the manga he has a whole like three page monologue about how he was gonna have a fun time with Rengoku since his specialty was in torture but I figured the demon would actually take a second to think about his opponents.
He believes he can kill Yangoku easily enough, their first battle showed him that he could do it. But he wanted to take his time with her, really draw it out for what "he" did to him before. And Shadow boi didn't want to be interrupted during it. At this point he doesn't know that aura can stop bullets. He knows it can get rid of his shadows, due to the stab wound in his heart. But that's it. So he decides to wait, once they spit up he waits in Jaune's shadow, the plan is to jump out when his back is turned, shoot him in the chest, gloat and monologue for a few, take the head back with him to Yangoku, kill 'him' and spend the rest of his after life in paradise.
Also I was serious about the Demons being weird as shit in canon. They only die by decapitation with sunlight blades (Lightsabers =D ), or direct sunlight. They eat people, not because they need to but because it makes them stronger, there's a head demon where all other demons originate from, killing him kills the rest, and he makes more by injecting the victims with his blood. Dudes… I think they're vampires!
Favorite, follow, and review please!
And have a perfect day y'all!
Next chapter: August tenth
I'll be putting update dates at end of my stories from now on. If anything occurs that would push back the date go to my bio, I'll try to keep it updated on anything that occurs.
